Easy, Beachy, Summertime Hair While Growing Out A Pixie - Summertime hair is the worst. Frizzy, limp, sticky and sweaty. And this hairstyle will change none of that! It will show you a great way to style your hair that ALLOWS you to get frizzy, limp, sticky and sweaty and hopefully make it seem like you meant for it to look that way! After all, it's all about the illusion of perfection..... This is my favorite go-to 'do for the sultry days of summer. Easy, beachy, wavy....

Summertime hair we live for summer. We wait for summer, we're so excited, but boy does the heat and humidity do a number on our hair. So I am growing out my hair from a very, very short cut and it has been through a lot. The ends of my hair mean this much. My hair right here has been bleached and dyed and bleached and dyed and bleached a nut, and it's thrashed bleaching knocks the curl out of hair. My hair is naturally curly, but wait don't get too excited. It'S not like. It'S a pretty girl. You know some people have that curly hair. That looks like, oh, my god, it's so wonderful. I do not have that hair. I have the hair that it's just curly enough to be annoying. When then, I go outside and there are misters at lunch to keep us wonderfully cool, I end up with a head full of frizz, so my advice for summertime hair is to just go with what is natural, give in to your hair? Let your hair do what it wants to do and then manipulate it a little bit. So don't try to fight it. It is going to do what its gon na do. Here'S, how we're going to do our hair today, I'm going to let it dry. Naturally, if I had any curl enhancing product with me, I would use some curl enhancing product, but I don't so. I am just fluffing the heck out of my hair and then I'm going to step outside for a few minutes in the Puma Nevada heat, and it should be dry in about three minutes. But I'm just going to let it dry naturally and then enhance what is with a curling iron and get a nice casual beachy summertime hairdo. I stepped outside for a few minutes in the blinding Nevada Sun and got my hair dry. Let it dry naturally. So this is what my hair looks like if I do absolutely nothing to it, so I've got some girl, which I'm very fortunate in that I have some girl, but it's not really a pretty girl, but it doesn't matter what you have curl or not for this Hairdo because this hairdo summertime hair, this is really just about embracing what is going on, naturally on your head. So if you have less girl great go with it, if you have more curl great go with it, it's very frustrating with summer hair, you just have to sort of accept what you have and try to improve it. So I add some beachy waves to this section and give it a little more shape and I'm not going to worry too much about the back um I'm going to be laying out by the pool today so doesn't really matter around. The back of my hair looks but thank you. I have a dog sitting on my foot. Let'S hope I don't trip over him, so we're not even going to comb the hair I this is all keeping it as natural as we can. I am just going to take small random pieces of hair and with my curling iron, this is about what a one-inch girl I'm just going to do sort of irregular curls. Some will curl more. Some will purl less it's very, very random, and that's going to give you that casual beachy wave that oh really my hair, just looks this amazing. When I walk in from the pool sort of a vibe, I'm gon na lay down there Vegas clip away. Here'S such a good helper - I do have a curling iron at home, where I do the rap, but I'll wait can my hair to be a little bit longer before I do that otherwise I'll burn on my fingertips off so we're just pinching it and desert-like to The intentional fishtail not curling, all of it, leaving some pieces in their natural state because we don't want a perfect curl. We want a messy natural toss. Old curl rolling out hair is such a pain I'm getting to that stage where it starts. Looking like Grandma, hair or long hair or the worst is - and I mean no disrespect to people who teach high school physical education. I think it's awesome, but I don't want to look like a PE instructor. Sometimes it does a little heavy on this side, with the grow-out and in summertime, and sometimes I'll do extensions when I'm growing out my hair to get through the awkward stage. But summertime is not the time you really want to be doing extensions. You just want your hair off in the summer. Now I don't know what's going on in the back, I really seriously have no clue, but it doesn't matter because we're just doing random ASSA t see it's. It took me about three minutes to curl: it not doing a whole lot, it's completely just random, and then we give it a fluff and a little bit of spray, because my hair, this girl will love it curls well, and it holds a curl well, but it Also can fall out real easy and we got a look at the back because you never know what's going on back there. So, let's take a look at the back of the head. I don't have to worry about this part. It always just kind of like curls up like a dot spot. I wish I could give you better instruction, but this is the hair that I've had for 50 years, and this is what I'm used to styling. But this is it summertime beachy hair? If it gets a little frizzy or throughout the day, if it gets misted on, if I get sweaty, if the curl falls, it's all good because we don't have a really precise style here. It'S just about fun, toss old waves, easy care hair for summer. It can be more curly, it could be less curly celebrate what you have be uniquely you thanks for watching. Please subscribe I'll talk to you soon.

Truth 2027: Thank you, Monique! Your commentary is hysterical!! This is a very cute style - and a helpful video - for curly haired gals and summer humidity. I don't have "pretty curls" - but I will go with it and help it do it's thing! As you say - your hair will win anyway :) To freedom and beauty and embracing silver and curls!

Jeri Kontogeorgis: Love your videos. I am thinking about going all gray but haven't got there yet. I have natural curls and haven't used a dryer, curling iron for a few years. Always tried to straighten when I was younger but now just embrace what I have except for the tint every four weeks. I am 60 and have been dying my hair since I was in my thirties. Your videos are helping me make the decision to quit tinting my hair. Thanks.......have a great week!

Julie Wilson: Finally subscribed today! I'm in my late 40's with young children, growing out my silver hair--almost finished. Found your channel when I first decided to go gray and have loved your videos. Thank YOU bunches, Monique! :)

Brooke Cantrell: That looks great on you. I'll give it a try. I too use "stop-a-bird-in-flight" hairspray. I love that! The four-legged co-stars are cute

Lisa Ryan: You are a scream!! Love how much shine the curling iron gives your hair. Great tutorial!

Sarah M: An old hairdresser I went to years ago used to call what you and I have a "half assed curl" - meaning more than a wave, but not quite a curl. LOL! It is way easier to enhance what you already have. I used to have problems parting my hair, then I started going with where it parted naturally. It looked tons better. Mother Nature knows best sometimes!

Drulinda DeWitt: "curls up like a duck's butt!" This made me smile----we must be related somehow. My dad's nickname for me as I was growing up was "Drulinda Duck-cut" for that exact reason. Still fits. :) Thanks so much for your videos! They are making this recuperation so much more pleasant.

Ann4U2000: I love the ease of it all. I'm going to try it. I have about the same amount of curls as you ( and a similar style...slightly longer) and I cut my long hair off to transition faster. I couldn't stand the faded color and it's just easier transitioning this wat=y then trying to keep it long.  I tend to frizz when I air dry...so product is a must. I love my natural pewters and pepper.:)

Gwen Kirkland: I love the way your hair looks naturally. Mine does the same thing. Growing out my pixie, but am to the point where I just want to cut it short again. I don't want to have too short hair in the winter though. I love the ease of this hairstyle. I have the same slightly wavy hair that just doesn't look as pretty as it did when I was younger. Thanks for the tips & I love your personality!! Fun to watch you. Love your little partner there too!! He's adorable

Lis Cain: Great message doll! Keep up the inspiring work! Loving it!

NordicGirl2: If I let my hair get as long as yours in the summer, I look like a q-tip! I don't dry my hair, it just gets "crunchy" on the ends. I have to keep it cut within an inch of its life. Really great for summer, not so hot for winter in Minnesota. Love your hair short! Plus it really enhances the curl you do have in the back. Keep up the great videos, I love to watch them and get inspired.

Deb ORC: Cute! I tried a beachy paste like a pomade, on my long hair. It gave me a nice piecey, beachy look. I also have some shampoo to active the natural curl in my hair. I should try that again to in my "randomocity". ;)

Elizabeth Winchell: Which curl enhancing products do you like to use? I have baby fine, wavy, sometimes frizzy hair, and I just got my hair cut into an inverted bob, so I'm thinking of experimenting to see if I can pull off a wavy/curly-ish bob. (Photo is of pre-bob hair, styled by the lovely lady who cut it, I think in 2010 or 2011.)

Sharon Elder: Hi Monique, just recently subscribed and love your videos. What eye wrinkle removing eye pads do you use? Thanks

Lily Gudsnuk: Beautiful! ! Thanks Monique

Moriganna Brown: Hahaha Randomosity love it! I have the same fine curly frizzy hair. Summer is horrible because of the humidity and in winter it gets static my lol. I leave it natural now however all through high school I straightened my hair with a brush and hair dryer. So much easier now days with anti frizz products. I am using TREsemme climate control right now I got at the Dollarama. A hug family size bottle of shampoo for 3$ and a bottle of conditioner for 3$ then got the Liquid Gold Shine Therapy for 3 though the bottle is small a little goes a long ways and I use it twice a week. Having dyed hair will strip the hair as you mentioned so nourishing it is as important as nourishing our body. Love your channel. xo

snuuuzans: Hi Monique. A tip is to bleach your hair with Olaplex. Thanks for the video :-)

leah smith: Very beautiful Monique, have a great week:)

Tinytitan-Laurie: Another good one! I always use a lot of product to tame my short hair...this summer maybe I should just loosen up and go with it...with a little help! Take care...

D Druidway: Hi i love your video's, could you give any advise for a good hairstyle for long very curly thick hair that is transitioning to gray please, as you do such amazing hairstyles, thank you

PIVWIV: Those curling irons really iron out the cuticles and makes the silver shine! Such a difference!.Watching this video whilst i'm processing(1hr) "manic panic blue steel" (which I learnt from you) at the sides and back and "Directions" Silver on top to make it more interesting. Wish I had my floppy fringe back so I could curl it. Oh well it will grow. With all the negative feelings I've been having towards my Granny head of late...like you...no disrespect...just that I haven't a mature enough face to go with the hair...I think the fact of not getting hideous roots (which gives the illusions of baldness) out ways those downer days. Can you do some Funky mixed colouring? would be interested to see what you do...has nothing to do with the fact that I will find it most amusing :-/

Robyn: you have the most beautiful hair I've seen in a pixie cut. I finally remembered who you remind me of, Janet Leigh. awesome video

LittlePoet: How have I missed you? You are so beautiful and so stylish! I just subbed and I can't wait to catch up on your videos! So nice to meet you! You are so good in front of the camera!~ Susan

Sara Lobato: So pretty your hair!!!

Susan's Faves: You should really try Living Proof Humidity Shield!! It doesn't leave ANY buildup and it instantly removes the frizz. My hair is a lot like yours, naturally curly but not in any "good" way!! I swear by this product!! (Their Amp product gives my roots lift. Love it too!! I love their products!!) I just ordered their shampoo & conditioner in their no frizz line.

Larry E. Quigley: I love the natural look, for what that is worth.

Claudette Thauvette: Wow that looks nice .!

headlessviolin: This has always been my thinking my hair does it own thing I'm just glad I have some Chris xx

headlessviolin: Have you ever tried the salt spray beach hair stuff. Dubious to spend out just wondered or is it for the kids? Chris xx

Carolyn McLaughlin: love your hair

carla sitari: What a haircut!

Edith Larsen: Try the curly girl way. You might just like it i do.

Jacque B: In a pinch, aloe is a good hair gel.

Vivienne Hamilton: I love the commentary very funny but not funny I can imagine if you have hair humidity problems. I dont have problems with hair humidity - do we ever have humidity in the UK but I know at lot of my USA friends on YT have big problems this time of year. Your thinking is bang on you may as well let it do what it will but you have made your hair look so good in the process there are a lot of ladies who spend hours trying to get a beachy look. Love your videos Monique thank you so much. xoxo Vivienne

Smart Mouth Life: I totally make up words!! This looks very hip on you... Not P.E. teacher!

mihaela cirpa: You are lovely!

HurricaneHetta: I know what you mean about "P.E" instructor lol! I mean, what's up with that anyway? Anyway, I've never thought your hair looked that bad, lol! I like your dress.

Michael Cristian: Love you baby!

Carole Roscoe: sorry dnt get the grey look. love beein a blonde
