Now, if you don't know what stretching your relaxer is or if you don't know the importance of stretching your relaxer, I want you to go ahead and check out my how to stretch your relaxer video as well as how to grow your hair past shoulder length. So you need a good protective style, but have you noticed that, when it's time to do a protective style, you lose all style fashion? Chicness, I'm gon na show you today, three protective styles that will allow you to protect your hair, but also look good. At the same time, we're gon na take it up a couple of notches. Are you ready to protect your hair and look good at the same time? Let'S go Luvies style number one: a half up, half down! Look okay! So we're starting off with freshly washed hair. I did the night before flat iron, just the roots of my hair, not to get it bone straight just to soften it up loosen it up. So it's not a thick. I am currently six months post, relaxer so or more yeah, six months, post relaxer. So my hair - it's really really really thick. Usually I wouldn't do my hair, but I'm doing it for you guys, so I love you anywho, so we're doing the half-up half-down style. So right now I just separated my hair with my fingers. My hair is thick at the roots. I don't wanna use a comb, so I separated my hair from ear to ear with my fingers, I am going to add clip ins to the back of my head. So right now, I'm just separating the top layer of the back half that's gon na cover the clip ins. So what I'm gon na do is I'm going to cornrow the back of my hair and then I'm going to use a crochet hook and crochet the braids within themselves. That way, I can clip in my clip ins onto the braid, and so this is a great protective style that looks real. It looks natural, but I'm protecting my hair by braiding it up and then wearing to clip. In so you'll see the process and how I do it so all the styles I'm doing today, I'm using clip ins, my favorite favorite, favorite, add-on. Okay, so my hair is all braided up but, as you can see, I have to cornrows that are left out. So I'm going to take my crochet hook and I am going to crochet the two leftover braids into the other cornrows. So this is just a quick, easy I guess hack to do. Instead of doing like an intricate braiding pattern or to actually have to get a needle and thread, you can go ahead and crochet the braids within the other braids, and then your hair is tucked away and safe. So now it's time to do the top part of the style, which is the bun. What I'm doing now is putting away the or pinning of the top section of the back half that's uncover the clip ins, and now I'm just coming out my hair and I'm getting ready to do the bun using the Shea Moisture raw shea butter extra moisture detangler. I'M gon na put that all over the top half of my hair. I just wanted to add some moisture, but this product was very thick and it came out really white. I wasn't expecting that so yeah you might want to use a lighter moisturizer. Next, I'm using the sacred tiare anti breakage and anti-frizz leave-in conditioner by Carol's Daughter. I just sprayed a couple of pumps of that and now I'm getting ready to do a slick bun. But first I need to get these clip ins together. So I'm going to flat iron, my clip ins, but before that I'm going to use the tresemme thermal creations heat tamer, it protects against heat damage, I'm going to spray that on the clip in as well as flat iron them. My clip ins are amazing. I love them, they are the kinky straight clip ins. I got them from Yvonne or Yvonne. I can't remember which one but it's on Aliexpress I'll put it down below. But these are my favorite clip ins. They are affordable and good quality for the price. So I'm going to try on my clip ins and I'm going to add one clip to the top half of my hair, so that my bun is fuller and bigger cause. I need everything to be full glam to be huge. So, yes, I have to add on add a clip in and on the top part, to slick down my edges and my hair. I'M going to use the got2b glued gel now, it's time to add the clip ins to the back of your hair. So clip ins are super easy to use. I don't care if you're, not good with hair, you can use clip ins literally. You just slide the comb into your hair and then you snap it closed it's so simple and easy. So what I'm gon na do is just start from the back of my head and work my way up again using the Tresemme thermal creations, heat tamer, I'm going to spray that all over my hair, because I need to flat iron my hair just a little bit. So it can blend in with my clip ins and so right now, I'm just doing the finishing touches to this hairstyle. Just to make sure everything looks good. Now, I'm going to use a couple of drops of castor oil to add shine to my hair, looks real right, so real every time I go somewhere and my hair is like this. Everyone is like. Oh, my gosh, your hair is so long. I be like girl. These are clip ins style number, two, two cornrows now it's time to part my head down the middle, I'm to do the two cornrows now, as you can see, or you are going to see that my part is not centered, it's not in the middle of my Head, it is definitely off-center so, but we're gon na go with it for now. So I'm parting all the way straight down the middle down my head and then I'm going to add clip ins because, like I said all of the styles I'm doing, and this video will have clip ins. So now I'm going to part a section within this section and that is going to be where I clip in the clip ins. So I'm acting like I'm going to do a cornrow within that section, but instead I'm just parting it and then I'm going to apply the clip. In into that section. I use about three to four clip ins and I focused on putting the clip ins in the back because I wanted to add more length using the Cantu shea butter daily moisturizer. I'M gon na put that all over my hair at sheen and moisture to soften my hair before I start braiding now it's time to braid, and so I'm just gon na braid, my hair, all the way. Back and honestly, I don't know how to even explain to you how to braid there's lots of videos on YouTube, so go check them out and you can learn how to braid. I cannot help you girl. It took me a minute to learn how to braid honestly. So my prayers are with you, I'm believing that you can braid your hair, but yeah. You just got to practice now, it's time to do the other side. I'M gon na do the same things. I'M gon na part. The section add the clip ins at the Cantu moisturizer and then begin to braid. Now I'm going to pull apart the braid to give them more fluffy jumbo appearance. So I'm just going to pull the part two braids from root to tip just to give you some volume to make it appear. Bigger and fuller, using the got2be glued gel, I'm going to slick down my edges using an edge brush, so the clip you saw before was me doing my hair. I didn't like how it turned out, but the technique is still all the same. So what I did in the video, how I clipped in my clip ins and how I braided my hair is everything I did, but I did redo it off camera and then I decided to take out some hair out of the braid. So I just took out some pieces of hair at the braid and then with my flat iron, I did kind of candy curl curl this I thought it gave its some fun happy vibes, um, carefree, free spirit, vibes. I thought I would dress it up this nice top, so it is a crop top and has a cute bell bottom sleeves and you can tie it. I like anything with a tie, so I decided to put this on with this cute necklace. It'S tribal kind of African feel of a necklace, so I decide to put this on with the braids. I think this is such a cute look style number three: a ponytail/ bun, so I'm gon na take a loose, my two cornrows from style number two and I'm going to do a ponytail/ bun, so yeah thought I would show you guys this, because my hair is Going to be crinkly - and I know you're - probably gon na - think how is your hair crinkly, but it's because I took a lose the braids and then did my style. So I am loving my hair, like this and braid out crinkly volume type of style, but I couldn't keep it because it's not a protective style and this video is about protective styles. So we must move on. I already have clip ins in my hair, so we're gon na use the same clip ins, but I had to rearrange the position of the clip ins, so I can put it up in a ponytail or a bun. So now I'm going to take the Cantu daily moisturizer and put it all over my hair and once again, wan na add some moisture. Add some shine next time using the cream of nature with argan oil from Morocco, perfect edges in the color black. So I'm going to use that to slick my edges and it smells so good. This is the first time I'm using this product and I actually love it. It'S really nice. It makes your edges look darker, which makes them look thicker and who doesn't want thick edges. So it was perfect. What I'm doing right now is using a brush to brush my hair up, so I can put it in a ponytail. So what I'm about to do is the typical average ponytail so yeah just watch? Is it me or do you feel, like you, get the best ponytails when you tilt your head over like when you bend over and stand up and get the best high ponytails? That'S a secret! That'S key right! There look at that, so I'm taking some of the hair from the ponytail and I'm gon na wrap it around the ponytail holder, the band the scrunchie. So you don't see it so it looks like it's all, hair using got2be glued gel. Once again for those edges you got to do it, I'm going to slick my edges using an edge brush. So this is my ponytail. It does look natural off camera. I did at clip ins more clip ins for length and more volume, so you just stye it. How you want to do it, but yeah, I'm also gon na put it in a bun. I love this. You do a bun or a ponytail real cute, so those are my three favorite protective hairstyles that are simple and easy to do, but also full glam. So I think it's important to remember that your protective style can be cute, it can be fabulous, it could be fashionable. It can give you everything you ever needed and wanted what makes it a protective style is that most of your hair is put up. It'S either. Braided up it's tucked away: it's not just out it's not being pulled tight, it's not always being combed through or flatiron you're, not applying heat to it. So if you keep that in mind, you can come up with different protective styles that are cute and cute to wear, but are also going to protect your hair.
