HOW TO: Brown to Red Without Bleach

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GtS3WMJ...

Products Mentioned:

L'Oreal HiColor: Red Hot ( Sally's Beauty Supply - $7 )

L'Oreal 2O Volume Developer ( Sally's Beauty Supply - $6 )

Riveting Red Conditioner ( Sally's Beauty Supply - $6 )

John Frieda Ravishing Reds Shampoo ( Target/WalMart - $5 )

Neutral Protein Filler ( Sally's Beauty Supply - $6 )

-If you can get your hands on the RED Protein Color Filler, grab that one. It's much easier to use than the neutral filler, you just add the Red to your dye mixture.

Here's a link to the product

Directions from bottle on using the Protein Color Filler I used in the video:

- Apply 1-2 ounces to dry hair for 20 minutes

- Blot excess from hair, DO NOT RINSE & apply color as usual.

*My hair was still pretty damp from spraying on the filler so I just hit my hair with a blow dry for 2 minutes because I didn't want to apply my color to damp hair, because the color won't take as well on damp hair.

-Hair Extensions: 22O grams. Dolce Vitta. 20 inches

The original color was Wheat Blonde. I dyed them first bright red using Beyond the Color Zone in Wild Red, then I re-dyed them the next day using L'Oreal Hi Color in Red Hot w/ 2O volume.

-I do only wash my hair every 3/4 days in cold water but your color will still run.

-I use makeup remover wipes & alcohol to remove the color stains! ;p

* Remember I got the color I have now because my hair was such a bright red color before I did the Red Hot.

What I'm Wearing:

Face: Lieole Secret Pore Rich Balm, L'Oreal True Match in Sun Beige, L'Oreal Tarte Amazonian Clay Concealer: Light, Laura Geller Balance n Bronze: Medium, WNW Mellow Wine Blush

Hey guys, so today's going to be my how I touch-up or how i refresh my red hair, I'm not sure what the title is going to be yet so I don't know what to say: I've been a redhead for the entire month of March and it's been Pretty cool, so a lot of you wanted to see how I touch up my hair and whatnot, and a lot of you have been one asking me so many questions on about my darker red hair. If you guys don't know, I will link my original redhead video right here on how I went from brown to red hair. I was originally a very, very, very bright red color and I had to get rid of it because I felt like that. Color was really really washing me out. None of the colors that I was wearing we're looking right on me and I was like okay. I need to do something about this, so I went back to Sally's and I looked around at their loyal hi color, the same brand that I used the original time. The first time I used L'Oreal hi color, highlights in red, so I went back to Sally's and I decided to go with the darkest red that they had, which was L'Oreal hi color in red hot, which is this one right here. It'S the same brand except it's hi color, instead of hi color highlights the other box is red, this one's black. Being that my hair was such that bright, red color. It gave me like this really really pretty like dark, deep red color. I just used 20 volume developer, which just looks like this and L'Oreal hi color. I used two boxes and it gave me the color that I am now a lot of you been asking. So how is it living with red hair? It'S great. I love this color. I get tons of compliments on it. People always come up to me now when I'm out and ask me how I got this hair color and whatnot, so I try to walk them through step by step. The only thing is, is it fades very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very doneski very quickly because it fades really quickly. My hair was probably like 17 different shades of red before I just read, I'd it, and that was probably from only washing my hair like six times every time you get in the shower, your hair is just going to bleed away you're. Just gon na see your beautiful color run down the drain and it's really disheartening because I'm like I don't want to take a shower. I get that I want to wash my hair, don't like washing my hair when it's red, because when you first died, it's such an amazing, like red, color and then, like three weeks later, you've got like orange parts in your hair and, like this part, was really Dark and then I had like red hot roots, because you know your roots stay. The best along is because that's like fresh hair and I have like dark Roux girls like I got ta touch this hair up, so you guys will see in the video how I do it. It'S pretty much. Basically, the same also you'll see me using a protein filler in the video, but I use the neutral protein filler at this time, which just looks like this. But if you go to Sally's and you're gon na dye, your hair red definitely definitely try to get the red protein color filler. I will put a link in the bottom bar so that you can see what it looks like, because I don't have it and the only reason that I didn't use it. This time is because my Sally's was out of it weird. I guess everybody is dying. Their hair red, I didn't use a protein filler, the first time I colored my hair red, but I did use it a second time when I got when I went to this red color, because a protein filler is just going to help even everything out. It'S going to not leave you patchy and it's actually going to help your hair, because it is protein, but just be careful because protein can't dry, your hair out, so just use a deep conditioner when you know you're done dyeing your hair um. What else do I want to talk about? A lot of you have been leaving questions on my facebook page telling me that you know you have dark hair and you use boreal, high color in Red Hat and your hair doesn't look anywhere like mine. You have to remember that I didn't go from dark hair to this color. I went from dark hair to bright red to this color. That'S why it's more of like a darker red, but it's a bright dark red like you can just you can tell right away that my hair is red. You have to keep that in mind. I didn't go black to this color. I have that bright red color, which then you know gave it the color that it is now another thing. A lot of you have been asking questions about my hair extensions. How did I get them to match my hair? You guys are having trouble with that use. A protein filler when you're coloring your hair extensions, it'll help even everything out the extensions that I'm wearing are Dolce Vita extensions, 220 grams, 20 inches the original color that they were in was in wheat blonde and to get them pretty close to my hair. I think they match pretty well, I dyed them a bright red color. First, I think I used beyond the color zone in crimson red - I'm not positive, but I'll put all that information in the bottom guard, because I have the bottle somewhere in my bathroom um, but I dyed them a bright red color first and then I went over Them with L'Oreal hi color in red hot, obviously I colored them bright red wash them. Let them air-dry waited a day, and then I recolor them. I didn't all in one day I mean, if you want to you, can their hair assumptions knock yourself out, but I did wait a day in between dyeing my extensions as well. Another thing, Shampoo and Conditioner. You guys have been wondering when I've been using. I have not found a shampoo that I love. I had the riveting Reds, which you know this is the conditioner love the conditioner. The conditioner is amazing. It is a color depositing conditioner. So if you feel like your hair's, getting a little washed out definitely grab a color replenishing. You know if deposits color into your hair, it is a red conditioner grab. One of these, if you feel like your hair, is being a little um, but as for shampoo, I haven't really found one that I love the riveting Reds I felt like it was really like building up and it wasn't giving me like a clean hair feel like What I would get out of the shower and start to blow-dry, I could definitely feel like product in my hair, and I don't like that whatsoever. I have been using the john frieda radiant red yeah, radiant red. This isn't a color depositing shampoo. It is red, but it's not going to do anything um it just doesn't pervert it just says it preserves color and magnifies shine, which I mean I have pretty shiny, hair from dyeing it so much, but I do use the kqc thermal shine spray, which I think Adds a lot to it, but I don't really love this shampoo um. It'S alright! I love the smell of it, but I don't know I think I'm gon na try some other things so, but yeah we're just going to get into the it's not really a tutorial. It'S just me showing you what I'm doing again, I'm not a professional guys, I'm just somebody that likes to do her own hair, because so many people have messed up my own hair and it's I'd rather mess up my hair and be mad at me. Then somebody else mess up my hair if that makes sense. But if you do your research, you have the Internet at your hands. If you're watching my video you're connected to the Internet - and you can find any answer to any question - you have, if you just search for it, if you're just patient, if you just look for the answer, you know, Google does have 700 pages. If your answers not on the first page, try the second page so yeah just keep that in mind, guys I'm not a professional, I'm just showing you guys what I do. Hopefully, you can pick up some tips and hopefully you can help yourself out, like I help myself out. So, let's get into the part of the video where I'm showing you what I'm doing so. I hope you guys enjoyed this video and until next time I will talk to you guys soon also check the bottom bar. I am going to stop rambling now, because I've been talking a lot so yeah um, bye guys. This is my hair, probably about a month in so you can see my roots, obviously there's a little bit of regrowth and then, as for my red hair, it's probably four different colors, so I'm just want to take my neutral protein filler and pour it into a Spray bottle, because it's a lot easier to apply this way, if you guys want full directions on how to apply this to your hair, make sure you check the bottom bar, so I'm going to let this sit on my hair for about 20 minutes, like the bottle Says and then I'm going to blow-dry my hair so that it's not damp when I apply the color and then we'll come back and I was going to be using L'Oreal's red hot. This one isn't going to be bred like the other one. So again, you just want to pop lock and drop it, and this one's a lot easier to squeeze out, and then I use two bottles just in case, because I never want to just run out I'd rather have too much color than not enough. You know I need so then these come with little red intensifiers. These things will stain you like nobody's business. So after you put in your color, I have the tube. You just want to squeeze these little guys in there and again, these little guys are no joke. Wear gloves this part, and it says it I'm actually just going to be using a 20 volume today. I know that it will lift my roots, no problem. So if your roots are a little more stubborn, you went Lego for 30, but I don't really want a lot of lift in my hair. I just want the color to be to positive, mainly so, since we used two tubes we're going to do five ounces of developer. So there's our one ounce and here's our four ounces and then, of course you just want to mix away and then that of course should be a finished project up what it should look like. It'S going to look exactly the same as red-hot, but don't worry and hope he is right, okay, guys and then it's the same exact way as in my previous video, I'm just going to work my way from the bottom up, applying the color and yeah. It'S pretty self-explanatory, so just keep watching the video thanks guys. I don't know what is wrong with me today.

lucy nation: I dyed my hair 8 years ago to her tutorial and 2021 I’m back again

Crinkle fry: For those who want this color but have NOT had their hair bright red first - I mix one tube of red hot with one tube of the red and it comes out perfect :)

Trinadoodles: Thanks for the tip on the protein filler. There were two spots on my head that just would not hold red at all no matter how long I left it in. It looks wonderful all over now! My hair is more of a coppery red, but your tips still work for any color red I think.

Isaac Smith: Just a suggestion: Loreal hi color is a permanent color which lifts your hair. So you should dye your roots with the permanent color to lift them, and then refresh the rest of your hair with a Demi or semi permanent hair color to prevent damage, since you don't need to lift your hair further but just refresh it.

Erina Rose: Still my fav red hair tutorial as a natural brunette, love you

PeaceRocker01: I dyed my hair over a month ago with the L'Oreal HiColor magenta (I am a darkish brunette originally). It turned out to be intense bright red as well. I'm now planning to go to a much deeper red. The lady at Sally's said for me to only leave the dye on for 10 mins which seems too little to me, but she warned that there is risk of my hair burning off if I leave it on longer. I've had my hair highlighted red 3 times prior to me dying it full red however all within a month period and each time the dye was left on a full 20-30 mins, so I'm wondering if you think it would be safe to leave the dye on this time for the same amount?

LittleImpaler: Red hair is very high maintenance, ever 3 weeks you have to redye it. I have red ombre. Wash it every 5th day. Get dry shampoo. Your natural oils are good for your hair. Wash with cold water will keep the color longer. Use one to one carrot juice and beet juice in a bottle, shake it up, put in hair. Put on shower cap for 30 minutes, rise with cold water. And condition. This will keep red vibrant. If your hair is really dry. 1/2 cup of plain yogurt 1/2 honey, mix. Put on roots to end. Wait in shower cap for 30 minutes, wash out with cold water. Use aragan oil, coconut oil, avavocado oil to keep hair from getting dry.

Hefwood: I've used this method twice now on my Daughters hair, I have to say I have used neutral filler and red protein filler. I think I like the neutral better it is easier to work with. My daughters hair turn out beautiful and stay's vibrant! She uses a red color shampoo to help, too!

Stephanie Knapp: One of my favorite videos of yours! Love you and your red hair! I just did mine after lots of research and watching your videos. Your so extremely helpful on so many levels and my hair looks amazing! I just decided to mix red and red hot together and my hair looks bomb! Keep making awesome videos please :) :) :)

Gina Bambina: Hey Nicole! So 3 weeks ago I had a friend of mine that works in a salon do a dark red to blonde ombre. My natural hair color is dark brown. She did the roots dark red without bleaching my hair and from about my ears down she bleached it but only to a caramel color BC I was too scared to go platinum blonde. (My entire life I've been dark so I had to ease myself into the idea of going blonde) any who she did the blonde up a little higher than just an ombre and it didn't come out how I was expecting. I've watched this video and the other when you first did your hair red. I bought intense red and red hot in Loreal hi-color (both in the black box not red) Just want to see if its safe to do this being I have some of my hair caramel and the color says for dark hair. I figure if its too bright of a red for me I'll just go darker a few weeks later. I've been doing a lot of research on reds and like I said watched both videos in their entirety so I don't look crazy lol Thanks for your time!

Maslow's Mirror: Thank you SOOOOO much for doing these videos! You absolutely helped me. I wouldn't have been able to do it without your guidance! Yesterday I headed over to my Sally's and got the L'Oreal in RED and same thing happened to me (dark middle....red roots and ends). I'm going to wait until I'm due for a wash (3 days) when I go for round 2 of coloring in red (except for the roots).....My QUESTION is this... How long did you wait to do the next color and I imagine you colored ALL of it? Also, when you do your touch ups do you use the developer in 20? THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! XXXOOO

Beth Ralley: Mines the same colour as your original red. I love it! The best thing is re-dying as I love the fresh bright red colour!! X

KnightofJediRen: Thanks! Thanks and thanks....following you step by step has been like a revelation to me!!!!!My hair was a completely mess, and following this video and using the products save my life and my hair and my self esteem....you are awesome and very sweet.

Samantha Martin: I used loreal hicolor in red hot and mixed it with magenta and it gave me a similar color to this. Still pretty bright but not as bright as the hicolor in red would have been for my hair. So for people who want to get the color Nicole has without dying it red first I would say either get red or magenta in the hicolor highlights and mix it with red hot or intense red. I hope that helps

Lady: You gave me confidence to do it myself. It looks so nice too I definitely made sure I used the protein filler too

catherine corea: I used to redye my hair with Loreal Hi Color Magenta, yes it looks great the first month or two BUT it will dry your hair because of the developer. The girl at Sally's told me to only use the loreal from now on to dye my growing roots and use manic panic for the rest of my hair. I tried this and i love it! I use Manic Panic Vampire Red (you can use any red you want) It's a VEGAN hair dye that requires NO developer and keeps your hair healthy and still an awesome red(: Been doing so for 2 years.

Hellonheelsnh: I do red hot and magenta mixed together and i love the Color, i use 30v developer and the red protein filler... I Love my new color! Thank you Nicole!

Aaka Lawrie: I just dyed my hair with this colour and it's AMAZING! Looks just like youu.

Janay Green: in love with this color, i'm soooo glad that you found out how to dye your hair such a vibrant color with no bleach!! i'm excited to try this now ♥♥♥

Michelle Ramirez: I REALLY really love this red, it's exactly what I've been looking for. I have light brown hair, if I use the red hot hair dye will I get the same results? Or will it be different since I didn't have the bright red hair you did before you redyed it? Please let me know. I love your hair color, it's so perfect ❤️ xoxo

Nicola Cat: Can I just say for a tiny bit of help for others who want red hair, I went red a while ago and recently just went back to red and if you still want the colour but not so much fading try a sort of deeper red. I found that dying my hair a red that brown hair can take to (about medium brown, with a dye that involves no bleach) it lasts a lot longer especially when you wash your hair with colour lasting shampoo's and conditioner. It is still a noticable red and instead of fading to a weird orange it'll just fade to a much more subtle browny orange. I died my hair probably about a month ago, the colours still there and it's only just about time for a touch up now. I could probably wait another 2 weeks or so before I do though. Just  a tip.

Denise St. John: Just have to tell you, it took me so many tries over time to get to the color we have. You look BEAUTIFUL, I LOVE it!!!

Elissa Allen: I absolutely love this color! My hair is a bit of a deep red right now but this bright deep red is my goal color! Do you think if I bought a tube of each of the colors you used and mixed them the results would turn out about the same?

Helena Sanchez: Love this is exactly what I wanted to know on how to maintain my red hair did the first step now the second tomorrow thanks for the info

Susie M. Vecchio: I have my hair dyed this exact color and I love it. I if you look at my my photo you will see I am a natural black beauty and I still had to bleach my hair prior to achieve this beautiful color. i absolutely love though. I saw that you retouched about after a month and your hair growth didn't seem too extreme. Its been about two weeks for me and my hair has grown out a lot more than that. I am getting ready to touch up my roots already cause you can really see the black popping out.

Roxanna Naumko: Hi Nicole!, I have a question. I just dyed my hair with Loreal hicolor highlight for dark hair in magenta with 30 developer (previously I had it red with garnier nutriesse R3) and I love this new magenta-red vibrant hair! My roots are little lighter than the rest and I want to know if I should switch to 20 developer the next time I dye my hair to keep the same brightness? Thank u :)

SilhouetteTheSly: Hi, I just wanted to thank you so much for these videos on the red hair! I followed this process and my dark brown hair is now a wild ruby red! Love it, and no damage. I can also keep it in for almost a month without much fading. The products work fantastically (I also had to darken it up after the initial dye, it was a bit bright before).

Silvi Ambriz: Watching your video help me finally go red! I wanted to have a deep red not bright red I bought L'Oreal Excellence HiColor Deep Auburn Red and mixed it with L'Oreal Excellence HiColor Red HiLights in Magenta with Ion Sensitive Scalp 30 Volume Creme Developer and it came out awesome!!

Shelyna B: I looooove this video. I used the exact same color as you did (red hot) and very happy with the results. What did you use to touch up the length of your hair when it was this darker red? I know you mentioned beyond the zone crimson red for your extensions, did you use that on your hair also when you refreshed your color?

Janay Danielle: I went from brown straight to red with the red hot and it brought my hair to the same beautiful, deep red. I used the 30 volume developer though.

Caroline Cortes: Quick tip* adding some of the color infuser into your shampoo helps maintain and refresh the color ;) (currently copper blonde and this helps A LOT)

R J: I had dark brown hair (My natural color) and some blond in my bangs and through the left hand side of my face. I died it without stripping the blonde out and I think it looks cool. I's obviously lighter than my natural hair but not too bad. I think you should be fine but you will more than likely have different shades of red in your hair. it will be lighter where you have light brown and darker where it's dark brown and bright where the blonde is. I'd say go for it but I'm NOT a professional lol

TheWhimsicalShelly: Love red hair! Now I am burgundy/cooper and  I am ready to go to the next level of redness! Awesome video!

Malinda Smith: I love your hair and you are adorable! I have been a hair dressed for 15 years and your doing a great job. I would suggest trying to use 20 vol on the new growth and ten vol on the ends. 10v will deposit only and be less damaging for the ends. Have you tried using a color glaze in between coloring to refresh. Also the hair product Wen is amazing for stopping red fade!

Ana Moreno: Hi Nicole I love how your hair came out I'm also a red head and a tip so you don't damage your hair as much. Since your hair is already a time of red try using a lower volume developer it will give you the same result but with less damage. That's how I retouch my hair and comes out just as red as the first time i did it. Good luck. Love your personality. Def new subscriber! :)

BunnyMarshFlowers: i dyed my hair red from natural very dark brown for the first time in the last week of February, i bought John Freida shampoo and conditioner for red hair ($7 each) it has been already almost (almoost) 2 months and the color is still vibrant! (I used the Loreal Highlight for dark only in Magenta and i used 30 peroxide). and yes! I wash my hair every 2 days and its still looks amazing! and it doesn't bleed like most people say "i dyed my hair and the red color bleeds out in the shower" xD havent retouched my roots yet nor the red all over my hair. But I do recommend L'oreal Highlights color, very good dye (imo) :"D

Trinidad Veronica: I always do my research before doing something to my hair :) And so far your video was the BEST !! Thank you ♥

mia demi: i dyed my hair from brown ombre to this color. so the first time i dyed it the top of my hair didnt change much but my tips were like fire red! so the next day i dyed it again and it looked amazing! almost exactly like hers! but it literally faded within a couple of weeks:/

Bandmerchislife96: I dyed my hair this color today turned out exactly like this !

MacKenzie Rhodes: I dyed my hair the same exact color as your hair and iv gotten a lot of complements as well mine has started to fade a little and iv only had it a week!!!!

VirtualDoll: Ooooo that is beautiful!! Thanks for all this help. I think I'm gonna ombre this as one of my colors. It won't be this bright because you obviously have brighter red undertones but still a gorgeous color. Thank you and man you color like a pro! Great job

JazminCarolina: I used this hair dye last summer and I loved it!

Kiesha Wallace: I'm the exact same way with my hair! I'd rather mess myself up than be mad at someone who messed my hair up lol my friends think I'm so weird! The funny thing is I watched your first red video in order to do my own magenta! Lol I love your color!

Selena Barraza: Hey Nicole! I was wondering, since you had said your hair was healthy throughout your red hair phase, how did you keep it so healthy? I have the jodn frieda shampoo/conditioner but did you use anything else other than the other conditioner you mentioned? :)

Carolyn Garland: I would suggest a sulfate free shampoo and conditioner to save your color as well.

Maricruz mendez: I absolutely loved the advice, I totally went and bought the product& I love how my hair came out!

JPierce: How often do you have to keep it up? Every month? I went back to red myself and it's already faded and I'm over it. I love how it looks the first week but I don't want to damage my hair every month or other month :( who knows how long I'll keep the red

Brittany C.: Girl I've got a dilemma! my hair does okay dying toward the bottom with the L'oreal Red Hot, but where my fresh hair comes out of my scalp it is almost BLACK, this stuff doesn't even hardly phase my color. Do you think my hair is so dark, I may have to get the shade Red instead, to get results like these? Love your videos girl we are so alike in so many things. Keep'em comin! ;)

Cristi D.M.: Yes it will work. My friend had auburn hair before dying it and it came out amazing, but since that is a bit of a darker color, it'd be better for you to use Volume 30 Developer than 20.

Cindy Virgen: What color did u dye it after achieving that pretty dark color (after ur red then red hot) do u re do it all over with red then red hot again? Or can I just use one color to maintain that nice deep red but not so bright red color?

Amy Carreon: I love this color. My daughter and I are going red in a couple of weeks.

Therese Wärn: When I dyed my hair at home, it washed out right away. But now, I go to a hairdresser and she dyes my hair. It doesn't wash out at all compared to when I dyed it at home! My red haircolour stays vibrant for months! :) My hair has been this carrot red color, but now to the fall I'm going to dye it dark red! :) I can't wait to dye it, cause my roots are a mess!

Corinna Thompson: Love this color better than the other one. You totally rock red hair!!!

Taylor H: Awesome thanks for tip! Going to be doing it next week so hopefully it turns out alright :) Good luck with your hair too!

Mainstream TV: I kno this is an old vid but the best I've seen about red hair. When u refresh the color with the loreal hi lights, do u put all over ur hair each time?

Alisa Karter: U look awesome Nicole, I have done it that colour yesterday. Your video inspired me amongst other women-beauty gurus who use Loreal HiColor. I have gone from sratwberry blonde red to non brassiness dark red, classy love it. I no longer sport extensions and wigs, b/c my hair grew 6 inches or better since last Sept 2016 - my hair grows like wildfire I touch my hair up from 2-4 months, I do my hair and roots come in a few days shocking.

Nicole Navarro: I'm not sure how healthy it is to do but when washing my hair, I use equal parts shampoo, equal parts semi permanent dye (any vibrant red will do) and leave it on a couple of minutes. The shampoo is what strips your hair color so if you have a color safe shampoo, it keeps it vibrant longer. It's worked for me for awhile and I've had mermaid red hair for a couple years. It will leave your hands and tub a bit pink depending on which dye you use but a good scrub and it comes off. Hope I could help because I can't find a red rejuvenating shampoo either!

Kayla Bonita: Loved it the red came out soooo beautiful

CorinnaWalters1: Hey Vanessa. I saw that you replied to one of my comments.. When my hair turned a burgundy after using red hot, I waited a week and then bought the color RED using 30 vol developer and it came out redder. After about a month it started fading so I bought the color RED again with 30 vol developer and it came out really red like it showed on the sample hair, lol LOved it!! :)

Angelica Marroquin: Wooooo love ur hair love it red hair.

John Wayne Gaza: You are so gorgeous and silly, love watching your vids. I watched your brown to Rihanna red video 4 times b4 I colored my hair red. I used Loreal Hicolor in intense red and I love it. Thanx!!!

Selena Parchment: Great video. I've been a red head for many many years and I love it. Love the dying extensions, I'm gonna try it. tnx

s d: I did this to my hair. I have Silver\blue eyes and everyone EVERYONE even stangers compliment my hair cause it makes my eyes pop. I love this. Thank you :)

SogeQueen: I ALSO dyed my hair red and people LOVE it! It might sound ghetto, but do a Kool-aid rinse! After shampooing your hair mix 4 packets of cherry or tropical punch with conditioner apply wait 10 mins and rinse. Just a tip for my ladies on a budget ^___~

Jessii: Wow you're gorgeous.

Elizabeth Bockus: Nicole, Do you have any suggestions on how to go from bleached blonde hair to your dark shade of red? I know the product you used already has a lightener in it. I'm not sure if I should do a step in between where I dye my hair dark brown and let it sit for a few weeks, then follow your steps. What do you think?

chris loyalty: I HAVE WATCHED A FEW OF YOUR VIDEOS AN LET ME SAY THE RED LOOKS GREAT ON YOU!!

mia demi: after my second time my tips were a little light but it looked great, and i just redyed it again last night with a 20 developer instead of 30 and i used the red protein filler and my hair came out a little bit darker than before :( but the protein filler really helped alot! like no mo ombre at all.

hxexm: Just a tip for bright red hair losing color: try using Beyond The Zone Street Glazes in Red. You can get it at Sally's! Basically you just shampoo, put in the glaze and leave it for 5 minutes, rinse, condition as usual. It's amazing. For me, it almost replaces all the red I lose from shampooing.

Lynne: Girl !! How do you have time to do all this video making ?! Lol. Do you not have a job, husband / boyfriend / girlfriend, parents, kids, dog or maybe a goldfish ? Lol. But hey !! I'm glad your making them though ! I watch just about all of them. But watch !! The single one that I've missed is gonna be the very one that explains this very question !! Wanna bet ?! Lol

Miz Sexii: Hey, I just dyed my hair red using the same exact color. It came out good how ever it fades super fast, when u touch up ur roots do u pull it thru to ur ends also? Every touch up do u use a filler? How often do u touch re dye it and for how lond do u usually leave it in? Thanks for the tips and vid!! Have a good day!

grasmere64: You're gorgeous, and your hair looks great.

Tamara Morales: Simplemente precioso, brillante, el rojo perfecto sin duda!

Taylor H: I am just about to go red from brown ombre too! I was going to first darken my ends though but maybe I should just do it twice like you did. Was it even afterwards? I've got a bit of blonde regrowth happening on my roots too so i'll probably end up with hot roots and hot tips at first!

Murphy Star: Makeup not on fleek

Samia: Omg I love your hair this color! Its gorgeous♥ iv been trying to persuade my mom to let me dye my hair red for like 6 months now, but im only 15 sooo... :(

Pawpkornz: It's called a "soap cap". You mix a little dye with shampoo, massage it into and leave it in your hair for a bit and it basically refreshes your hair color without the whole dying process. Not as effective, but like I said, it's a refresher.

R J: I used L'oreal Hicolor hilights about a month ago and still haven't re-dyed it. And it looks perfect! Only thing is my roots are black again. I'm gonna re-dye it in like 10 minutes lol. And yeah, when you wash it a LOT of color comes out, it makes the water pink. but the color stays just about the same, if not, better. And it doesn't damage it at all. I hope I helped! :)

Natalie Juell: Hi Nicole, love your videos!  I was wondering, I want darker red hair like in this video but the first time I dye it. Should I use the dye you use in this video (touch up one) or should I find a happy medium of the two colors you have used??  thank you so much love!

Katie Schmidt: Thank you for this wealth of information! Question,I have managed to not color my hair for the past 4 years so all of my hair is virgin. Do you think I will be able to keep the bright red color longer and not run into all of the issues you had with different areas changing colors? Im moving to the Dominican Rep. in a month, basically zero access to a good salon, so ideally I'd color my hair now and bring everything I will need to touch up for the next 6 mo. Thoughts?anything will help. Thanks!!

Cherelle Marie: I use the same brand as her. and it seems to wash out almost every time i took a shower and it stained on towels! So if you are planning to dye it red, wash your hair with cold water and use riveting reds! :)

MollyByte: I saw this video and HAD to have this color! My only problem was I couldn't use the L'Oreal HiColor because my hair was medium blonde to start with. I used Ion Dark Red Blonde, and my profile pic shows the color i got! I am absolutely in LOVE with this color! I debated with myself for a really long time about doing it, but hey, YOLO IMO :D

Georgette Morales: What color did you do next after red? I did this red a few months ago & ready for a change(:

Angel M: I did this with the same product and my hair is now falling like crazy/ I've died it 3 times and I have half the hair i used to have. The color is beautiful and i get so many compliments but my hair is thinning :(

Jazmine Smith: A tip for anyone dying their hair red.. Use the Clear Shampoo Damage & Color repair (purple bottle) for colored hair. It'll help a lot better than the riveting reds shampoo if you want to avoid buildup.

DaniG52o: Hair 911! Question! I want a red exactly like the red you got when using the loreal hicolor red for the last time around. The darker richer deeper red than the bright Rihanna red you had. My hair was dyed from dark ( natural/Virgin) brown hair to a bright red with redder highlights. The color has basically washed out by now and is a copperish color with lighter copper highlights. I've seen some videos using magenta. With this copper color do you think I'll have a better chance of achieving your last deeper red color with the red you used or the magenta? Thanks!

mzlisa808: ahhhh i love you this video it helped so much, my hair was looking like yours when you dyed it, red on the top and faded and brown at the bottom! thanks!

Andiee Lopes: Girl ion at Sally’s has a colour pigment treatment that you use in the shower as a conditioner, it’s a colour deposit treatment and it WORKS I have pretty red hair and it’s how I keep it fresh, less dye times less damage to your hair

Caitlin Arrowsmith: Hey Nicole! I know this is an older video, but do you think that mixing the colors would achieve the same color? I'm super interested in this color! :)

Omnomnomisaur: If you're still red and having trouble with it washing out fast, you might try Manic Panic brand hair color. I'm absolutely in love with it and it stays in my hair for a long time. It stays pretty bright and vibrant for up to two months, sometimes longer, depending on the color. I put it in and leave it in for 2-3 hours before rinsing and with colors like that, try to rinse in colder water. Hotter water will bleed it out a bit faster.

Kelly: If anyone is looking for a really great shampoo, I'm finding that one of the best I've tried is Madder root by Aveda which is for red hair. I'm currently going to the Aveda Institute and working in a salon and all of their color depositing shampoos are amazing!

Ashley Robertson: i had this color for about a week before i lost my mind with all the up keep and dyed it back brown, hats off to the girls that can deal with that

Sam M: THAT COLOR IS SO PRETTY. Just got red highlights myself

Edith Vanessa Salinas: Had to come watch the videos that made me start following you ❤️❤️ I dried my hair red because of you in high school.

dena81: love hicolor! I had been using it for some time, alwaysssss get compliments on it too! I went back to brown, but I think I'm going back soon

SlytherinKitten- // inmysoul_TLH: Same! I just got a darker red box color and i'm dying it soon! Everyone doubts me and some are like don't do it, or your gonna change your mind when you do it, but im keeping it for a loonnng time!

Kelsey Q: I did this to my hair a week ago and I really like it. However it did not come out as bright as I'd hoped. Still, awesome instructions, I did it just like you said. thanks again :)

Miriam Rios: Love this color on you better than any other one of your videos. .. just very hip and trendy

Jamie Jackson: That color is so gorgeous on you! You are beautiful because you can actually pull that color off

Randa Reese: I promise it wont fall out. I've abused my thin fine hair, and dyed it for years, over and over, and its fine :)
