I am sad that this did not work out, but like I mention in my video, the rose gold had much longer staying power. So I would not cross out this brand as a whole, just this particular color. @oVertoneColor

Hey welcome to my channel. My name is sarah. Thank you so much for clicking on this video. I didn't put my backdrop up today, because i'm thinking this is going to be just a very short update. Video and i didn't want to spend the time putting it up and taking it down if this is going to be like five minutes, but i just wanted to give a little update video on how my hair is doing with the blue for brown hair by overtone. I tried it for the first time, roughly a month ago, give or take a couple of days and my response in that video was elated, i loved it. I loved the color. I thought it was gorgeous and i adored the idea of having blue hair, but some things have changed since then. In my initial video i didn't show how it faded. I just showed the results of that day or the next day, and i assumed that the color would last a good while, like a couple or a few weeks, because that was my experience with the pink for brown hair that i applied and i may have gone A month before reapplying it again, however, my experience with the blue by overtone is much much different. I started noticing fading within like three days and not just a tiny bit of fading like major, fading i'll put a picture in of how it looked after the first application, and then i will also try and find how it looked once it started fading. So i assumed that i had done something wrong like maybe i didn't leave it on for long enough or just something like. Maybe i didn't saturate it, so i decided i would try it again, hoping that this time it would actually last by the way, there's a ton of background noise. So i apologize for that. There'S nothing! I can really do about it right now, like the initial application within a couple or a few days, i started noticing major fading, and i would also like to note that i wash my hair once a week, so it was fading without even being washed. I washed my hair and used the overtone and then the next time i washed my hair was when i reapplied the overtone, so it wasn't like. I was rinsing out the dye, which is typically what happens. It seemed to fade a lot quicker. The second time i will insert a picture here of what my hair looks like, but it looks basically like blonde or gray and that's just after the dye had been on for like a week and a half, i actually sent these pictures to overtone asking for help Because i wasn't sure if there was something i was doing wrong, if there was a technique i needed to be doing or if they just had any tips and tricks to make it last longer, because i was just really confused why i had such great success in Long lasting color with the pink but the blue seems to come out of my hair in a couple of days without me, even washing it. I still have not received a response on that, so hopefully they do eventually get back to me. After that i applied it. A third time this was so it went like a week, the second application a week and a half the third application, and this is about a week and a half after the third application. Again, when i did it a third time i loved it, it seemed like i got a deeper blue than i had previous times, because i left it on for a long time and i put a bag over my head to keep all of the moisture in then. I started noticing, two days later, that the dye was coming off on my hands as i styled it. I hadn't washed my hair, i hadn't been using other products other than heat protectant spray, but when i was finished curling my hair, there was a blue dye on my hands and it just doesn't seem right to be fading that quickly and coming off onto my hands. Two days after i applied it on their website, it says the color deposited by one used will last for approximately the same number of washes as a semi-permanent dye. Would the semi-permanent dyes i've used, have lasted numerous washes, but this doesn't even make it to one before it starts fading. So i'll show you what my hair looks like now like you can still see the blue, especially in the bottom. You can see it, but it is definitely faded. It looks kind of streaky kind of patchy. I guess, but it went from being a very deep blue to this light kind of greenish blue color. I still had some of the rose gold left, so i put it on the ends of my hair and that seems to be holding up pretty well, because i wanted to get like a blue to purple look and on the third application. I used up all of the coloring conditioner that i had so. I used an entire eight ounce jar in the matter of a month, considering it's 30 plus shipping, i'm gon na be a little bit hesitant before purchasing from overtone again, because that's a lot of money for only a month's worth of color and having to do three Applications like it was time consuming. I love the initial color that it produces, but it fades so quickly that i don't know if i want to put the time and effort into trying it again, it could just be the blue dye. I'Ve heard from different people that blue dye sometimes will never leave your hair or it'll wash right out immediately. The main thing that threw me off, though, is it coming off onto my hands as i was styling my hair, because i just don't think that's normal. I'Ve used overtone before care color, i used to use box dye when i was younger, and this is not something i've ever experienced. Typically, it just washes out gradually. I still really want blue hair when it was vibrant. I got a lot of compliments and i just feel more confident with blue hair, as opposed to just like my natural hair color. So i actually plan on going to sally's to try out arctic fox dyes, because i've heard really good things about them. Being long lasting and vibrant, so i think i'm also going to do a video on that. If you want to see it, you can subscribe little plug there but yeah. I don't really know how to end this video. I'M really disappointed in how the overtone turned out. If you've seen some of my other hair videos, you'll know that i speak very highly of overtone, so this is really disappointing that this product didn't work out. For me, i think i'm gon na try out some different brands before returning to overtone, and hopefully they respond to my email with some kind of knowledge that i can help keep my color um, but i think that's about it. Thank you so much for watching this. Video, if you enjoyed it, make sure you give it a like subscribe to my channel. If you want to see more videos like this, i especially do a lot of hair videos, because i love just messing with my hair. Thank you so much for watching. Thank you for your support and i will hopefully see you in my next video

Sarah Marjorie: PSA: Overtone has responded to my email with some tips on making it last longer (such as applying heat before washing out), as well as offered an online gift card if I wanted to try out a different product. I'm still debating if I want to try out a new color or not so I may have another Overtone coming eventually.

AmandaPanda: Blues and greens are usually the hardest to get rid of, if I had to choose between never getting rid of it or it fading to fast I personally would pick fading to fast. But I recently got stuck with greens stained hair and it was awful to deal with. But that’s just me

Nicolejg1982: Artic Fox & Overtone colors are all the same thing. To keep the color for a long while is to use Purple Shampoo with COLD water. My hair color lasted for 5 months. And I redo it again. I did it for purple hair last me awhile I'm gonna do mine again and loved it

belinda: i just got a sample size of this blue, after watching this i may mix it with the full size rose gold i got to make a purpley brown color over the bleached ends i have. i have noticed that blue dye doesn’t want to leave compromised hair as easily, the ends of my hair are very fried from over bleaching (by choice i have fine hair that can handle a decent amount of bleach) and the blue has stayed in the ends much better than the mids of my hair that are still healthy after 2 bleaches(it was poseidon from attic fox) , strange but cool enough! thank you for the video it definitely helped my decision making and understand the dye better before i get it in my hair!

Rainy N: Very helpful, I was considering trying the blue for brunette hair but I am not dealing with it coming off and staining things so thank you!!

TheresaPictures: It seems like the overtone is actually toning your blonde hair to make it a blonder. Blue and purple’s will tone your hair as reds pinks and purples will color it

Katrina Xharhus: This is probably a little weird, but this video is pretty helpful because I'm kinda wanting something that will leave my hair quickly. Thanks for making it. What I'm wondering is if maybe the heat protection spray is the reason it was coming off while you were styling. If I get it I'll probably try just a smidge on the ends and then see if I want to do my whole head.

Ivory Cherry: i hope they give you answers! its so weird that blue did that to you but the pink experience was so much better. If you wanna give them ONE more chance, maybe get a third color to see if the results are the same of the blue or the pink?

Eternal Rose: When I used Arctic Fox’s Poseidon shade I noticed the same thing happen where it was coming off on my hands while dry and faded in days so it could be just a blue dye thing

Jonathan Alemar: I think you should get shoulder length I think it would look good on you ! With the bangs too

Shauna Caroselli: What kind of shampoo do you use? I use innercense which is an organic sulfate free shampoo (basically doesn’t create suds) and I think it helps with color fading

d shangreau: you should try blue Jean baby by arctic fox! I had that color and it lasted a while!

Amber Carlson: good to know! love ur channel btw!

fabanni: Does the blue fade into a green like actual dye or does it go back to your original color?

Mikayla Smith: You remind me of Tanis from Letterkenny and I am LIVING for it.

Pippa P. Pod: Wow, I can’t believe the color faded without even being washed! That’s bananas! Did Overtone offer you any reason why that would happen? I see the finally answered you.

Xowie Rotten: Also you be using it every time you wash your hair. Pro tip: you can make you’re own. Condition + hair color (it should look like the color you want to deposit if not slightly darker.) I recommend arctic fox. Use it before you use your normal conditioner
