I'M definitely really nervous about this transformation, but I'm guessing that Chris is gon na make it look even better. Wish me luck.. My name is Cori.. I live here in New York City.. I work in publicity. And I'm really excited today, because my blonde hair is going to become brown., I'm going to be a brunette. And guess who's doing my hair Chris Appleton celebrity hairstylist. When I was 13 ready to get a bat mitzvah. I was begging my mom for me to get highlights.. I had really ugly braces, so I was trying to take the attention away from my braces and make my hair look good. And ever since I've been getting highlights., So I've just kind of been in a pattern. A little bit of a habit., I think, embracing this brunette style will bring out a new flair.. Honestly, I was a little skeptical about dyeing my hair., But when I heard it was Chris Appleton, I was totally for it and really excited., I'm obsessed with Hustlers J. Lo and obviously everyone loves Kim Kardashian. So who better to let transform my hair than Chris, Hey guys, my name's Chris Appleton and I'm Color Wow's creative ambassador., I'm so excited to see. Cori'S hair. She's been highlighting her hair for a while. She's, been kind of stuck in this blonde world where she feels like she is kind of a slave to it.. So I'm really excited to be taking her back to more of a natural color, adding some vibrancy and shine., And I guess, give her a whole new lease of life with this brunette hair.. Okay. So what are we going to do today? I hear you're up for a transformation. Yes., So I've been getting highlights for ever and I'm here to embrace a little bit of my natural dirty blonde light brown., You say dirty blonde light. Brown.. Are you gon na go big or go home? I'M thinking I wan na go --. Are we gon na go all the way there? I want to go a little big, but I still want to have my eyebrows match.. The blonde is darkened down.. I think it looks good on you, but I think we should take you to a brunette.. I would say taking it back towards your natural color, but keeping some warmth in it.. So we will add a bit of dimension with tones of brown, so it you know is not one solid color., But I think this is really gon na make your eyes pop.. We won't take it too dark. So it's too severe because I think that'd be the wrong way to go.. I think kind of keeping it in the middle will be dramatic enough for you and make you feel really different.. I'M excited. Make my green eyes. Pop. Go for it.. Let'S make it all! Pop. With brown hair, you have warmth in your hair. You have pigments in your hair., We're kind of staining it if you like.. So when we put the brown over the top, it's a truer richer color.. So this is not the end result., But it's just like a fill up.. I think it's gon na be fun to go into work on Monday and people be like “Wait is that you still ?'' and not recognize me., But I also think it's kind of funny that I have a hinge date. Tonight. This guy's gon na be like ``. Wait, who is this girl I matched with a blonde.''? Hopefully he likes my personality and isn't there for my hair., We used Redken Shades to fill the hair and add color pigments to the hair. Effectively. What that does is allows the base color to sit on top of that.. If I just put a dark on top of the hair, it's gon na get wishy washy.. I think I always have fun regardless of my hair color, so I don't think that's going to change or stop me., But maybe being a brunette is gon na, be having more fun and never saw it coming.. The next step was to take sections of hair root. The hair so add a bit of a darker base and then drag that through in sections. I took triangular sections and took some pieces through to the ends and left some pieces out.. That really was because I wanted dimension in the color.. So then we wash the color off at the backwash and the pieces that I left out. We then toned to add a little bit more vibrancy., So you got a multidimensional finish.. I think I'm lucky to be in the position. I'M in.. It takes a lot of hard work.. I guess a lot of determination. I've been doing this job. Since I was nine years old. I started doing my mom's hair.. I realized that when you give someone good hair, they responded to that and that response was really addictive. To me., I guess I felt like it was my superpower making people feel good, because that never goes out of fashion.. I'M excited., Let's go. Your big reveal., It looks so good. You're making me feel confident. I know.. Maybe I should take the leap of faith and get rid of mine., So we'd both be matching brunettes.. Should we both be brunettes, We could though., You look great.. You see the lightness Yeah. That comes through the underneath, So it kind of has that multi-dimensional look.. I feel so confident. It looks so good.. I got a date. Okay. Well, let's see., Let's see what he says.. I mean. I think you look amazing.. Thank you! So much. Your hair looks so healthy and shiny. You're the best thank you.. Thank you. Bye. Wow.! I'M truly blown away.. I love it so much., I'm so so so happy. Like Chris is amazing.. He made this look so good, like beyond my wildest dreams., I'm feeling so confident. Ready to take on my day.. I definitely am doubting ever getting my hair colored by anyone else ever again. E x K: This looks so natural, like she’s never dyed her hair. Thumbs up for the hairdresser for making small changes rather than dark brown. If the wants it darker after a few weeks/months, she can just use natural medium brown. It’s better to make small changes with time rather than big changes and regret it

Dustin: Every blonde that wants to go brown always regrets it eventually. Always. Even when it looks so much better and amazing, they want to change it back after a couple months. But once you go brown you can't just go blonde. It becomes a color correction that costs per hour and can really damage it and take multiple appointments. Moral of the story, if your blonde and love it, don't change it on a whim!

Just could have added more of a wow factor to emphasize her eyes. Overall this cut is boring on her...just IMO.

Jaclyn Lonson: It looked much warmer in the salon lighting, not sure if I would even call it a brown at all but on the other hand as a stylist,i think it's always best to listen/respect what the client wants(especially when they're filming it) Maybe now she'd be a bit braver next time to deepen it even more, more shiny.I know stylists that are absolutely amazingly talented but don't have a celebrity clientele like some of these Hollywood stylists but who's work is off the charts.I also know clients that have been hugely disappointed with their results from a "famous" stylist.I think it's just if the stylist/client click and work well together on an achievable end vision.Im sure this result could've been achieved by any compitent stylist.Lucky him though, Kim's hair maintenance bill is prob gonna buy him a new summerhome in Malibu
