Hi guys welcome back to my channel or welcome if you're new, my name is melinda. So in today's video i'm going to be dyeing my hair red, but really what i'm doing is just touching up the color that has faded. So i'm going to be using the overtone extreme red today. This is what i used to dye my hair several weeks ago and um. I had really amazing results. You guys, i have not posted a hair dyeing video in so long. This is weird, but i just want to point out that overtone actually does make a red that is specifically for brown hair. This is not that one they sent me both, so they sent me the extreme red and the red for brown hair. Actually, the first time i dyed my hair using this, i didn't really expect it to work, because my hair really wasn't like that light. I'M gon na post a picture up on the screen of what my hair looked like before i died the first time that way you guys can see like if this color will work for your hair or not, because i know that's probably why you're clicking on this Video to know if this will work on like your shade of brown hair, so this is what my hair is looking like right now. This is after about six washes with that color in my hair, so the top is a little bit more faded, which does tend to happen just because that's like where i have the most damage, so the cuticles just open it. Let'S go of color quickly in the bottom. I still have like a little bit of a red tint to it, but overall this stuff fades so much nicer than the last two times i dyed my hair, red or burgundy or maroon or whatever. If you guys saw those videos, this is how my hair turned out and it was terrible. So i definitely like dyeing my hair red over top of my brown hair, just because the fading process has been so much nicer as opposed to like having blonde underneath. So, like i said the first time i dyed my hair. I really didn't think that this was gon na show up on my hair because, like it, it was kind of light, but it wasn't that light like my hair was probably like a medium toned brown, and i just really was not expecting this to show up. I was actually using it because my brown hair had started to turn green from my pregnancy hormones, so i was trying to use this as like. Almost just like a tinted conditioner. I actually diluted it a lot with conditioner and um. I was just hoping that the red would like cancel out the green, and then it would just leave me with like a really nice shade of brown, but it actually ended up. Turning out like this, which honestly like i was not mad about because i had wanted to kind of have a fun color, i was about to dye my hair pink anyways, so i was actually pretty pumped with how this turned out, but that's my story. Okay, so this is what the color looks like and i'm. This is eight fluid ounces. Last time it only took me one jar and then i do add some conditioner to go with it just to like make it go a little bit further, and this consistency is like really really thick and i kind of like thinning it out with um a conditioner. Even though, like this is a conditioner, but i just scoop it into a bowl, i don't know why. I use my hand to do that. I'M rusty, i would definitely recommend using a cheaper conditioner, this one's like 15. I should not be using it, but it's fine. So here's what we're working with should i have more conditioner than that. I don't know because, like i have brown roots, so i really am only dying from like here down sorry. I know this lighting is like really dark, but i'm not really dying. All of my hair, so i can also get away with a little bit less. Oh, i just sprayed that all on the floor. I feel like something has to go wrong in my hair dying videos. You know what i'm saying if it's just white conditioner that gets all over the floor, i can manage okay, that looks like a good bit of product for my hair. I'M gon na leave it at that. Oh my gosh. I'M excited i'm gon na start with the top layer. You guys, i'm literally so rusty. I don't even know what i'm doing. Okay, let's do this. This feels less overwhelming so yeah. I would say that this color lasts for about four washes and then at my fourth wash, i definitely noticed that some spots it was starting to fade a little bit but still like. I would have worn my hair out and not really been too worried about it, but after about the fifth wash and then definitely the sixth, which is where i'm at now, i would definitely go ahead and touch the color up. But if you only wash your hair once a week, this could last you for like six weeks, which is pretty good. I don't really expect reds to last that long, though, if you've ever dyed, your hair red - oh, my gosh, it like is one of the fastest fading colors, but again i've just been so impressed with like how evenly this is faded, and i really think that the Biggest difference is that i had brown underneath my hair. So like worst case scenario, is it just fades to that brown like when i was dyeing my hair burgundy over blonde and then it faded to gray? Oh, my gosh, it was so freaking ugly, but yeah like your hair, doesn't even really have to be that that white - or at least that's that was my experience - that my hair didn't have to be that light for this to work. It could be partially because my hair is damaged, so maybe it soaks up more of the color question mark i don't know about hair, don't listen to me and i do like to kind of put this over my bangs, because even though my bangs are dark, i Still have like a few little lightened pieces, just from like natural highlights from the sun and it'll kind of pull the color up a little bit. I do like to heat style, my hair right after i dye it, which is what i'm going to do today, just because i can wear my hair heat style for like a week and a half, and so i just get like fresh color for a week and A half and it's great, and it just helps it to last way longer. Also, if you're curious, i did wash my hair last night. So this is clean hair. I don't have any product on it and i'm not trying like super super hard to coat every strand. I mean i'm taking like pretty small sections, because i don't wan na like really miss big spots, but since my hair is already like pretty red, underneath i'm not too stressed about it all right now, you guys like cannot see this color. That'S annoying. If you're worried that your hair might be like too dark, though i would definitely just go for the red for brown hair just to play it safe, okay, you guys what color should i dye my hair? Next, like i'm kind of thinking, i want to do pink again, i'm definitely not doing orange. I don't know okay. Actually let me take that question back. I don't want to dye my hair, any color other than pink or red. Should i do pink again, or should i do red for a little while or should i just go back to brown? I really can't decide because, like i'm pregnant for those of you who don't know so, i have like lots of photo shoot type things coming up. So, like i'm gon na have pictures at my baby shower and like we'll do maternity pictures. So i'm just not sure if i want like pink or red hair for all of these pictures that i'm gon na have forever. But at the same time, like i love having fun hair, and this is totally what i'm in the mood for now so this is also just like part of my personality right now. You know what i'm saying i don't know. So it's like part of the time. I'M in i'm pregnant - and i also have red hair and that's what i want am i making any sense. Oh dying, my hair is kind of therapeutic. If i didn't have to talk so much for this video, which some of you guys are probably like, i wish you would stop talking but yeah. Should i dye my hair, pink or brown or keep it red, i'm i'm leaning the most towards keeping it red, because red still to me, feels like a really safe, almost natural color. I don't know why i think i'll be the happiest with that to look back on pictures like if i have red hair i'll, be like that's cool. You know, okay, that was really fast. That only took me like 10 minutes, actually alrighty. So i'm gon na go ahead and do my other side off camera and then you know the drill i'll be back once my hair is styled and i look amazing bye. I just want to show you guys really quickly how much dye i had left over. So it looks like a lot, but really it's not that much um! It'S just like this little bit here. How about that much hair dye left not too much, so i did pretty good at figuring out how much i needed what i'll do now with that is i'll, basically save it once the top layers of my hair start fading again, i'll just apply that to the Top before i'm like about to get in the shower, because normally it is the top that fades the fastest, so yeah i'm gon na go clean all this off of me and i'll be back in. I don't know. I only let this sit on my hair. How long does it say? I think i let it sit for like 40 minutes, it might be 20. i'll put it on the screen, i'm gon na. Let it sit for that long and then style my hair and i'll be back bye. Okay, you guys. So this is a final result for my hair dye and i'm probably going to show you natural lighting too um, it's the same color. It'S just like this lighting is a little bit dark. Actually, no, it's not! You can see it, i'm not going to go outside. You guys this color is seriously beautiful and i love the way it mixes with my brown hair, underneath to give me this, like really deep, almost burgundy shade, it's so pretty. This is the shade i always wanted in my hair, and i got it a few times with, like the arctic fox and the other colors that i used the pulp riot. Is that what it's called, but again, i just hated the way those faded. I love the way this fades on top of my brown hair. It just doesn't look as crazy and terrible, but um yeah i've been absolutely obsessed with this color and yeah i'm. I was also pretty impressed with how long it lasted. Like i said again. Reds do fade quickly, so i that's why i have my hair heat style just to get a little bit more wear time out of the like, really fresh color, but um. Honestly, you can't even really tell that it's fading for about three washes on the fourth wash. You can start to see the fade, the fifth wash the sixth wash and then after the sixth. I would definitely want to touch it up again, but very excited about this. I'M also planning on trying the red for brown hair so once this fades i'll, probably use that and i have a feeling it's going to be a little bit deeper than this but yeah. These are my finished results again. Here'S a picture of where we started and here's a picture of what my hair looked like once again before i put any dye on it at all, so this is about the level that i started at, and this is where i'm at now. Just so, you can kind of get an idea of what it might look like on your hair and yeah. It doesn't really dye my roots too much it more, so just tints them. I think you can see a little bit of like the you can see it on my scalp, but you can see a little bit of the reddish tint on my roots. I really like that that washes out with about the first wash, but this lasts pretty good on my ends, so yeah guys that completes this video. I hope you enjoyed it. I hope this was helpful, definitely subscribe to my channel. If you want to follow my instagram page and my wavy hair instagram page - and i will see you guys in my next video bye
