Hello, everyone welcome back to my channel today, i'm going to show you what purple shampoo does to brown hair. I figured this would be the perfect time to do it, since my hair is like really brown right now, and it's also my roots are black, so i feel like it'll, be good to kind of show. You guys is what happens when you put purple shampoo on darker hair. I do have like a couple pieces of highlights left, but not much so when i film my other videos like how to tone your hair or purple shampoo versus blue shampoos. You guys asked me a lot of questions about what would happen if you put purple shampoo or blue shampoo on your own hair, and you would like describe to me what your hair looks like and everything like that, and i do my best in the comment section To try to answer your question, but i feel like it would be a lot more helpful to just kind of show you what happens when you put purple shampoo on brown hair and what happens when you try to tone brown hair with purple shampoo. So i'm going to start by showing you the before clips, as you can tell my hair is looking really crusty and just the color is not good and that's why. I want to tone it because it's looking super like orangey to me and really yellow as well. So i want to tone my hair and just kind of make it nice and neutral and bright again, i'm just not a fan of warm hair, even though, to be honest, warm hair tends to look like better on brown hair like if you have brown, hair orange And red tones will make brown hair look really really good. I guess darker brown hair, but personally i just don't like that. Look i prefer, like a nice cool, ashy color. So that's why i love to like use these kinds of products on my hair. So what i do is, i just use the shampoo as normal, so i'll, just wet my hair and then i'll just apply some purple shampoo onto my ends, basically, where i want to tone it because um like, like i said my roots, are black right now. So if i put purple shampoo on my black roots, basically it's just not gon na do anything at all, because all that purple shampoo can do is deposit like a tint of color like a little bit of a translucent color on top of your existing color. So, if you think about it, depositing any kind of color on black is basically not gon na do anything, because the black is so strong and dark that you putting a tin of purple on it or tint of blue on it. That'S basically not gon na. Do anything right, but if you have um like lighter bits of brown hair, let's say and you deposit a tint of purple on top it's gon na make it look a little bit more ashy, but it really does depend on how dark your hair is. So the darker pieces of my hair, there's not gon na, be a big difference, but, like the lighter bits like this little piece, there's gon na be a more noticeable difference on pieces like that, and what you want to do is leave it on for as long As possible, i like to leave it on for about five minutes, because it does take time for it to kind of um. I guess tone your hair. You can't really put it on and just expect it to like work immediately. So the longer you put it on and the more often you use it, the more results you're going to see basically - and i also try not to lather up the shampoo too much, because i want the purple to really get into my hair. I feel like when i foam it up. It loses some of its effectiveness and i do want to say purple. Shampoo is not the strongest way that you can tone your hair. There are much stronger ways to tone your hair, like bleaching, your hair and then coloring. It or just putting like a hair dye from the drugstore on top of your hair. Those are much stronger methods of toning, your hair, because it's actually going to lift a bit of the color and make your hair a little bit lighter before it kind of changes. The color of your hair and, if you're, putting like a hair dye or coloring your hair after you bleach, it obviously you're, actually depositing a different color on your hair. So those methods tend to be stronger and a lot more effective. But the thing about that is, they are also a lot more damaging. So that's why i like to use purple shampoo and blue shampoo, because it's super easy you can use it at home, it's like not as damaging at all and it's just not gon na like dry out your hair as much and i guess like mess up your Hair as much as bleaching or coloring it is going to, i will warn you, though purple shampoo is very drying, especially the one that i use. I use the vanilla one and i like it, because it's very strong and very effective, but it dries the crap out of your hair. So to follow up with this, i would always always recommend using a hair mask. I, like the macadamia hair mask because i feel like it makes my hair soft and smooth again, and i also use a couple products out of the shower that i'll show you later but use some kind of strong conditioner or some kind of strong hair mask. Because your hair is going to be really dry after basically and then i rinse out my hair and then this is what the after results look like. So, as you can see the darker parts of my hair, there's basically no change because, like i said when you deposit any color on top of a really dark color, it's just not going to show up. Hopefully you can kind of tell, but the lighter parts of my hair definitely look a little bit brighter and they do look a little bit more cool toned um to me. But let me know what you guys think down below. If you think that this is effective or if you think that there's like a difference in the before and after because personally, i can tell a difference in my hair in real life, but on camera. I really i'm not sure if it's going to like show or like translate, i guess and what i like is that the few little pieces of highlights that i have left in my hair. There'S really not many there's only like a few, but i like that. This makes it like a lot brighter and makes it more noticeable because i do like to have little bits of highlights in my hair. I know i really need to get my hair done. So don't worry, i'm i'm working on that, but the little pieces of highlights that are left i like to have them like stand out and be brighter and noticeable. So i feel, like the purple. Shampoo really really helps with that, and then you can see that the more dark brown bits at the ends of my hair um, like i said it, tones it - a tiny, tiny bit but there's again not much of a difference, because when the hair is super, dark You'Re, just you're simply not gon na see a huge difference. It'S gon na tone it a little bit, but you just can't expect crazy results because again it's purple shampoo. It can't make your hair lighter and it can't really do as much as bleach or hair color or hair dye would. So all you can kind of expect is a tint of translucent like ash tone. That'S getting deposited on top of whatever your existing color is, and for me that is like a dark brown color. So i do really like the results that i got from using purple shampoo, but i also like to use my conditioner. It'S basically a color conditioner. You just put it on and it deposits a little bit of an ash silver color onto your hair. So i like to use that as well from time to time. Today i didn't use it. I just used the purple shampoo, because i wanted to show you guys what that looks like alone, but if you want me to show you what the conditioner looks like on brown hair or what it looks like, combined with purple shampoo or with blue shampoo. Just let me know, and then i can film that video next for you guys and then when i got out of the shower, i did put some products in just again to make my hair soft and smooth, because the purple shampoo just dries it out. So much so today i use the olaplex um number six. I think it's the bottom smoother. I just used a little piece size of it and i put it in the ends. While my hair is still wet and then i just let it air dry and that actually makes it really smooth and really soft and like kind of detangles it. So i really like that um and then, if i'm not using that, then i will use my moroccan oil. It'S just a light one because i got it when i had lighter hair. So it was designed for light hair, but you can also get the normal one, which is for dark hair. So i just use a little bit of that. If i'm not using the bottom smoother, i don't like to use them together because they just they don't work. Well, together at all like they make my hair really crunchy and like weird and at first i thought it was the bond smoother. I thought i didn't like it because it made my hair weird, but then i found out it was because i was using it together. So now i only use one or the other. I never use them both. I think it would be okay if you use the bond smoother when your hair is wet and then, when it's dry put in a little bit of oil. But what i used to do is just put both of them in when it was wet and it was. It was not good, so i don't recommend that alright guys, that was it for today's little video. I hope that you found it to be helpful. Let me know if you want to see any other videos like blue shampoo, on brown, hair or, like me, using one of the shampoos with the conditioner, don't forget to like comment and subscribe. Let me know what you think down below and i will see you next time: bye,

Heidy Dubon: Yeeesss! I just got my hair done (I have really dark brown hair and I got an ash brown bayalage done). I'm wanting to see if the blue shampoo plus the color wash will do the job so I don't have to keep going to the salon

Westin Britt: Suggestion: look into no sulfates fast hair growth shampoo.

Jessica: Hi so I tried the purple shampoo on my hair and it looked the same

jaclyn weber: How about talking about the purple shampoo and not the other.

Anna Nottnagel: Can you speak louder please, very hard to hear you.
