Listen up, hashtag! No more lies black women. Hear me when I say if you ever wear weave and/or color your hair. It means that you hate yourself. Okay, it also means that you are not natural, or at least not a real natural, oh and while we're on the subject, if you also ever happen to wear makeup, you are deceptive, a liar and a catfish. These are the facts. Oh I'm, sorry, I misspoke! Those are opinions which often get confused with facts on the Internet. My bad. We can't ignore the fact that the internalized racism has created some deeply rooted self-hatred within the black community, and this self-loathing can manifest an obvious and not so obvious ways. Furthermore, and let's just keep it all the way, real, let's keep it above, there's no denying the fact that there is a very high incidence of black women who choose to wear weaves and wigs, not just on YouTube and in social media, but in everyday, regular degler Life as well, by the way I use weave as a catch-all term for any fake hair, wigs sew ins box, braids crochet styles, you get my point. Indeed, there are many youtubers who have more or less built their entire channels around weave content, and this isn't to say that only black people wear wigs, because that's obviously not the case. Historically, I think it's fairly obvious that the prevalence and use of wigs amongst black women in particular, has everything to do with having to conform to beauty. Standards that were imposed upon us. Afro textured, hair and styles like cornrows or even locks, are to this day not accepted in many workplace environments, so wigs, weaves, relaxers all became a means to an end and that end was being employable, bringing things up to the present. I do feel that there has been a scaling up in the popularity of wigs through social media and somewhat ironically, through the natural hair movement. I dare say the idea of wearing a wig became more mainstream for lack of a better word once white and other non black celebrities started doing so openly. Lady Gaga comes to mind. Krispies recently put up a video called something like wig experts pills the tea. The perception of wigs evolves somewhat no longer were they just for grandmas and auntie's, though there are some wigs that should be still salty. Yet you offer roasted me for this. Auntie wait. Last of my award in a video for us Millennials, at least wigs became cleave to the notion of protective styling for those who couldn't or simply don't want to wear the styles that, in my opinion, most exemplify protective styling buns updos we've became an alternative option for Protective styling as someone who's never had a perm. I basically worn protective styles to some extent, my entire life. It'S just that when my mom was braiding my hair up as a kid we didn't have the language protective styling. We didn't know these terms. I'D never heard of protective styling until I discovered natural hair videos on YouTube some 9 or 10 years ago, which is also how I discovered wigs as a possible protective styling option. A lot of you guys know your girl is styling challenged, but I also do love to switch up my look a lot and drastically it sounds dumb and it probably is, but it had never really occurred to me before that wigs were available to and appropriate. For me, they always seemed like something like I said that grandma's wore, because in fact the only person I knew who wore wigs was my grandma YouTube, opened my eyes to the wide world of weave and being able to completely change my entire vibe. In a matter of seconds, it never really gets old. It'S the same reason I enjoy playing around with makeup and fashion experimenting with different color combinations and textures and shapes just create in looks y'all. It'S all just really fun for me and inspires me creatively. Weave legit for me is no different from switching out my jewelry or shoes for a particularly it all just comes down to the vision, but according to a lot of people, that's not the case. Anyone who wears Weaver makeup does so because of self-hate, and then the people who don't engage in these types of enhancements are, of course, just fundamentally better human beings. Obviously sarcasm. There is no inherent value that can be placed on a person for how he or she chooses to wear her hair or her face for that matter. I got a comment asking me: where does the pride come in at if I'm always wearing wigs? Instead of my real hair, I explained to this individual where the pride came in at and pointed out that I probably wear wigs less than ten percent of the time in my real life sure I do wear them on camera. A lot because I like to say serving looks it's just fun for me, but realistically in my everyday life I probably am just wearing my regular hair as it is my regular hair and a bun, perhaps with a phony puff on top of it or a head, Wrap simply because these options are easy and comfortable, I'm pretty low-maintenance when it comes to my hair. That means lazy, rather than deal with the complications of wearing my hair out. When I just want the look of wearing my hair out, it's really nice to be able to wear a hat or a phony puff that resembles my real hair without having to deal with the aftermath. The detangling every night, the braiding and twisting my hair up every night. Just so I can go to bed type of drama, it's a lot of manipulation and not to mention my fro is basically a weather system. If it's humid out, I don't want to have to worry about my real hair. Turning into a whole ass mop within a couple hours of leaving my house frankly, wearing a phony ponytail, a hair hat, a head wrap, it's all the same to me. These are just options to leave my hair, the hell alone. I do gravitate toward kinky and curly textures, because that's what I actually grow out of my scalp, so it's my comfort zone to tell the truth. I'Ve had a hard press, maybe ten times or less in my entire life, so I always just feel a bit weird, seeing myself with straight hair but as the years have gone by, I have gained more confidence and I have enjoyed experimenting with trying out different textures In various pieces and wigs, because why go through all these stress and hassle of straightening, my real hair, when I can get the same exact? Look if not better by just popping on a stray twig or ponytail in seconds, whether it's a wig or a piece? It looks a whole lot like my real hair or one that looks nothing like my real hair, they're just options for me to avoid messing with my real hair too much, while still keeping it cute as youtubers have to say it's not that deep, but hair wraps. Never get these same accusations of being an outgrowth of self-hate in the same way that wearing a wig or for that matter makeup does I've been called a fraud simply for wearing phony, ponytails and wigs. In my videos, even though you guys see my real hair kind of frequently cuz, I do do a lot of hair content and not to mention if I am wearing a piece. It'S usually pretty obvious, if I don't mention it within the content of the video itself. For one reason or another, I always disclose it and list the specific one in the description box in case you want to pick it up too girl. Similarly, some people love to leave sneak diss comments like you look completely different without makeup or you don't need to wear all that makeup. What'S rich is that these people think that they are somehow complimenting you when they say things like this, when what they should have said was nothing the subtext of all these comments about makeup and weave is an accusation of self-loathing with a side of dishonesty. If you cover up your real hair, it's because you hate it and also you're a liar if you wear makeup you're, not only failing to embrace your bare face, you're, also engaging in deception. I have always known that these comments come from people who have problems that are far larger than me and have nothing to do with me and whether or not I happen to be wearing fake hair that day, so whether I do or do not wear weave or Makeup is not gon na fix these folks. Most importantly, if I were actually coping with self-loathing through weaves and makeup, snide comments from on YouTube are not going to be the thing that fixes it, but for the longest time I still felt the need to explain myself to somehow qualify the frequency and reasoning of When and why I wear wigs and makeup, I don't look like this unless I'm filming, I don't wear makeup most days and so on, here's the problem with that none of these explanations are owed. If I do look like this, every day, fold beat with some long-ass hair and a color. That definitely is not my natural hair, color and a texture. That is definitely not my natural hair texture. That is my prerogative and whether it means I hate myself or not by the way it doesn't that really isn't anyone else's concern. I think I felt the need to assert myself validation to these strangers, even though I really don't need to do that as if somehow, the fact that I don't wear my on camera drag and wigs day to day somehow prove these people wrong. There'S no need to prove these people wrong, because these accusations don't deserve to be dignified. Women and men who do choose to wear a full, beat on a daily basis and inches down to their ankles, are no better and no worse than people who choose to never wear such enhancements personally, I'm somewhere in between, and it all just comes down to how Each of us, as individuals like to present ourselves to the world now, if that B, does involve skin bleaching and wearing foundation, that's like eight shades to light and colored context so that you can have pretty eyes. That'S another conversation, as is the obvious over representation of silky straight wigs and weaves, when you compare it to the representation of kinky curly, afro, textured, wigs and weaves. It'S just the same old European beauty standards that have been getting imposed on people of color since forever same different century, because, let's face it, afro textured, kinky, curly, wigs and weaves are not usually what we're seeing and until relatively recently all that was available was Halloween And wigs, and not much else so yes, of course, there are incidences of people feeling pressure to adhere to beauty standards that come from an external source, beauty centers that we didn't create for ourselves, whether it is in a school public or private corporate environments and of Course, the military in particular is off the chain, but I no longer think that we need to entertain or dignified notions, that wearing weed or wearing makeup is inherently indicative of some sort of self-loathing. At least it isn't for all of us. It is not deception, it is not self hate, it is self expression and to all the men who like to insert themselves into this conversation over how women ought to or ought not to wear our hair and makeup. A brief aside, a of all for all these men who claim that they only like women who don't wear any makeup. This is almost never true. They just think it is more than not what these guys actually like is natural makeup. Half of y'all are playing yourselves anyway, Tom about take her swimming on the first date. Meanwhile, you're sweating, the same women you're, trying to humiliate slime into them DMS and having a one-way conversation with your damn self get the out of here too of all. While I can't speak for all women, I think I can speak for a lot of us when I say we aren't wearing makeup for men, we're wearing makeup, because we like it and we like how it makes us feel putting on a red lip or an ombre. Fuchsia wig can completely change my entire mood in conclusion of all nobody asked you Frank: if you're not attracted to a woman rock in a spotlight, cut, crease and 30-inch bundles then keep it to yourself and leave her the alone go holler. I don't know Alicia Keys or some who, by the way, is also wearing makeup rant over. Those are my thoughts on these weird accusations that black women often get when we choose to wear hair, hats and makeup and so forth, but feel free to chime. In with your thoughts as well in the comments, thank you so much for hanging out and sitting with me to the end. I will see you guys in the next video and always remember, never trust anyone with a more fee code. Bye, bye, snappy, editor,

Iruka: My Lingering Concerns: Thank you Ms. Ti for so critically, creatively, and compassionately sharing your analysis of this topic. While it is clearly evident that the most boisterous complaints about Black women’s hair are rooted in mysogynoir-laced sentiments or natural hair superiority complexes. Lingering concerns focused on fears of unaddressed internalized anti-Blackness remain. While Ms. Ti clearly displays a healthy relationship with her natural type 4 hair and wig use fueled by creativity. I feel that many Black women claim similar intentions/realties, when life experience/interactions/statistics show us otherwise. While internalized anti-blackness and adherence to European standards are referenced in this video and others, they are often mentioned briefly. While individuality is essential, I feel as Black women, we benefit from communal efforts (not shaming or bashing, which is unfortunately witnessed quite often) of self-love advocacy. My concerns: I fear that declarations of “it’s just hair TM*” or “it’s just creativity” (which are truthful declarations for some Black women, such as Ms. Ti) can serve as hiding ground in denial zones for the many Black women that still battle with internalized anti-Blackness. By hiding behind such statements, we fail to psychologically address internalized anti-Blackness. Black women are not accustomed to welcomed vulnerability, but I hope we can provide safe spaces for Black female humanization (I think the second wave Natural hair movement was supposed to be that, but we see what happened to type 4 hair representation ultimately) Spaces in which we can express how White supremacy/misogynoir/sexual racism has indeed affected our body image/self-esteem (without feeling embarrassed or ashamed for admitting it) and provide each other empathetic support and solutions. I know some of us are comfortable in our Blackness (and I know it’s easier for some than others, and it can be a difficult self-love journey, I struggle with loving my 4c hair too at times), but it doesn’t do us any good to pretend that all of us are. Why would we be? The world can be cruel to Black womanhood. I feel we do ourselves a disservice when some of us hide that many Black women are dependent upon weave/wigs to feel beautiful (or even just normal). This wig/weave dependence is even more unsettling when we witness the continual rejection of type 4 hair wigs despite their availability and our overwhelming preference for straight wigs/type 2-3a wigs/ Peruvian bundles/etc despite their overt contrast from our natural hair textures. There is nothing wrong with experimenting with different textures for fun or to prevent heat damage, but many Black women willing choose to wear straight hair wigs/weaves all the time and display a disinterest in kinky textured (especially type 4 hair) wigs/weaves. I find it sad that type 4 hair has yet to be normalized. I find it sad the little Black girls can still sense the devaluation/otherization/erasure of type 4 hair, or have never witnessed their mothers/Black female elders wear their type 4 hair in public. There is also the enduring theme that natural type 4 hair textures are perpetually casual, not worthy of proms, galas, red carpets, or magazine covers. I just feel that we are not being as honest as we need to be, and while some external commentary is clearly intended to be harmful, a segment of it is merely addressing our enduring dishonesty with regards to our discomfort with Type 4 hair. P. S. I also like wigs. I’m a lazy natural that wears her 4c hair is twists all the time, And I would wear kinky type 4 hair wigs/weaves if I wasn’t so tender-headed. P.S.S I wonder why Black women are much more comfortable discussing internalized-colorism than internalized texturism? We feel much more comfortable with encouraging Black women not to bleach their skin & to love their skin while empathetically contextualizing why women bleach. But we seems to struggle with hair related self-love discussions. P. S.S.S Apologies for such a lengthy comment. I hope it was comprehensible. <3

April Pryor: I wear a wig for job interviews. Once I get the job..."let it fro, let it fro."

🥀•My Pussy Stanks Bad•🥀: Ti constantly changing wigs is Me and my multiple personalities trying to get free subscriptions on Netflix and Hulu

Zee: The dedication of Ti swapping out these wigs every sentence she says... She really loves us, y'all. Great vid, boo <3

The Whoever: I stopped caring once I went natural and still got accused of hating myself because I wear braid outs, twist outs and keep my hair stretched. You have ppl criticizing natural girls for wanting long hair by calling us "length obsessed", I've been told that I can't grow my hair that long because it's 4c, not to mention the "nappy headed" insults. These idiots are going to talk whether we're weaved up, relaxed or natural. So fuck em. Not to mention I need someone to explain to me why I get the most compliments when I rock my long luxurious wig. Ppl just like to attack and pick on black women. I'm totally convinced of it at this point.

madame paka: Honestly, we got bigger fish to fry in this world than to crucify ppl based on what they do to their own hair. If you don't like weaves, wigs, or relaxers, then simply don't view that content. And yes, men need to stay tf out of our strands. Ain't nobody ask for their input! Love this video and the showcase of wigs

That Girl Lettah: I can only imagine what they'd say if they see me come to work in a wig only to take it off midday, do a twist out, and have a bun by the time I leave the office. Its almost like I'm secretly training for the CIA.

Adaku Dew Life Coach: Black women can do whatever we want with our bodies, which includes our HAIR. It is called autonomy.  And I loved all of your wigs.

Kiyoncé Kartier: Girl, I just left this video on Tierra J's video and it applies here. I'm quite sick of BW having to explain ourselves when it comes to hair choices. You damn right I rock the shit out my $180 Aliexpress wigs because I like wigs! Damn! That's it! I love my long ghetto ass nails because I like them too! SHIT! And these corns can also I know I will beat face until I caint no mo'! PUT SOME RESPECK ON MY CHOICES especially when they aren't harming you!!!

Yahminah Ain: I hate when people speak for how women of Black African descent must or should feel about their hair. Women do what we do.

Haute Bella Experience: Wearing wigs and makeup imo is definitely a matter of self expression. I also think there is a notion of the older you get the less appropriate it is to wear wigs and makeup...if you are over age 40, you should just go sit in a corner, look a hot mess and wait to die. I REFUSE. I'm going to wear my wigs and makeup and live my creative life to fullest for as long as I can. Great video...TFS

Kiyoncé Kartier: Lmfaooooo the 3 stacked wigs, the intense sobbing, beauty blender, the wig swapping SIS IM DEAD

Tabitha Jane Art: Mad respect to every woman out there who can style a wig

Myesha: So creative and seamless. oh and " same sh*t different century" could be the title of a dissertation that I would def read lol.

Yahminah Ain: I had a woman who looked just like me, minus her hair was styled differently, possibly relaxed, tell me I" finally looked like a lady" the day she saw me wearing loose curl extensions braided into my hair. I was done before I even started making extensions part of my life. The audacious rudeness!! ☹ I just do natural for now. Interested in a cute wig one day.

Krystal Midega: *cries in melanin* at the eloquence of this. You're a lifetime mood!

Amanda Skyring-Waller: I don't know why anyone would have a problem with wigs or makeup...they are fun, creative and a form of self expression. Furthermore, wigs give people the option of trying different colours and styles without destroying your natural hair. People need to chill tf out hahaha. I love all of your wigs! They are gorgeous

musiCal624: I have hair ADD, one of the many things I enjoy about being a black woman...the ability to flip it and reverse it whenever I want.

Creative Frequency: I will always be on the side of my sister's but one thing that's getting old is people bringing up we wear weaves because we HAVE to conform to beauty standards. This is the first thing black women say in defense of wearing weave. While it may seem like we aren't loved the way others view us is not a valid reason to conform to their standards. This is a free world, we don't HAVE to conform to anyones standards. There is no master to please, no more drop one rule, we must finish fighting for our freeness and black girl magic. And that starts by not confirming to anyone's standards and using that as a sole excuse to wear weave. Some wear weave because peoples standards make us feel bad. But no one is making us do anything. We have to stop defending ourselves by blaming society because that means soceity is in control of us.

Rikki Rikki: Me scrolling my mouse across the progress bar after seeing the first couple of wig swaps and gradually confirming that you refuse to stop changing them throughout this entire video is a happiness I want to hold onto forever. And a level of commitment to the bit that I aspire to. So glad you popped up in my recommended.

tiadeni: Alicia Keys knows damn well she's wearing Glossier skin tint or something of the sort. Probably uses a dark concealer undereye for a more tired looking effect

Lboogi: I like the auntie wig......‍♀️

205555: I wear my short 4c hair all the time and I have gotten rude comments from Black women with weave/wig about how I don't look sexy with that hair; was mockingly called 'Mama Africa' in a club recently. To be honest, I've started feeling really like maybe I'm not really sexy w/ my short 4c and I have thought about straightening it or getting a weave or wig. Sometimes, I resent women who do wear them and think ok, maybe you all are the ones with the issue. I don't see afro-textured kinky wigs on the regular; I only see straight or loose waves. Idk...just sharing my wavering thoughts.

Chantee Quackenbush: “In conclusion of all, NOBODY ASKED YOU, FRANK!” Deceased.

V Maciulla: Btw loving the effort you put into this video and all content you produce

DivaViews: Please, when Jessica Simpson started selling extensions, I was like "See? Not just us."

Vanessa Browne: This video is awesome. I kept thinking "would it have been easier to keep switching out of the wigs or to record the entire monologue in each wig and then cut and paste" lol. Either way, great content and great job!

peets96: Yes I dated a guy that said this - “you don’t need makeup” when I expressed that I wanted to learn how to really apply it properly. Also, the obsession with black hair is annoying. So many times people have said “why don’t you wear your hair down more” or implying my hair is not combed if it’s in a bun. Why is ok for women of other races to wear buns in the work place but if I do it means I’m just being lazy with my hair?

Taneica Lyn: The way I WHEEZED when you opened sobbing in your 50-11 wigs. STAAAAAAHP!

ceecee on the beat 💓: The wig changes between cuts have me CRYING!! And I love a good kinky/curly phony pony, sis, especially cause I live for cutting my own hair regularly haha. Spot on video, start to finish, and hilarious af, as usual!

Courtnee Rae: But that blunt cut with bangs is every damn thing!!

Déborah: Girl I know it was hot switching in and out of them wigs. Hell, I felt it thank you for the video though ❤❤

Christine: 10/10 for the wigs tho. I discovered the natural hair nazis when I devastated my hair with heat and needed to repair it. They were very helpfully me in the fact that I actually fixed my hair and now wear it naturally with confidence but their extreme ideals aren’t for everyone. The lady’s group on Facebook I was in became so hateful and angry I had to leave lol.

Gina J: I adore your commentary. Out of all the crowns warn, that Fro is most powerful. Advancing our outer-beauty is what we have been doing forever and some of us work it flawlessly. There is no need for low energy opinions of others telling us how to beautify ourselves. If only they understood the difference between inner-beauty and outer-beauty.

S.: I never thought a rant could be said so eloquently! Love this!!

nikkicole54321: The wig switch up game in this video is strong! it doesnt matter if someone wears weave or makeup. What matters is the final result: just make sure it looks good and is flattering on u.

Kiersten H: Girl, you are an artist. This video is literally everything I have wanted to say but couldn't find the words to express!

Flores Amor: "Buhlaque" + triple decker wig + sobbing . I had to drop everything to see what was going on

Sherlie: There’s so many issues going on in the world, yet everyone is worried about what a black woman puts in her hair smhhh we should not have to explain to ourselves to anyone PERIODTTT

Smurflexis: This is probably one of my top 5 favorite videos from you. The wigs changes, the FACTS... all so good!

Systematic Attic: PREACH! I never understood why people get so offended by things other people are doing with their own bodies! It doesn't affect you, so why are you so bothered??

Jessica: I think Black men have played a role in creating the narrative that especially Black women are self-hating if they use these methods of protective styling. The thing that's wild is that Black hair is the most versatile hair. It can do nearly all the things we purchase hair to do but there is a cost for sure. When Black women wish to pursue length as well as health they opt (as is their right) to wear the styled they feel will make them comfortable and keep their hair healthy. Period. It's not that deep.

Audra at Home: I started wearing wigs when I started losing chunks of hair due to a thyroid issue. I was so self conscious about my hair most of my life. Growing up overseas and coming to the US having to constantly prove that was my actual hair made me fearful of EVER wearing weave or a wig. Now, I just enjoy changing up my style when I want and keeping my ears warm in the winter! Also, my actual hair is kept short and doing much better! Great video!

Alexia M: So we got a wig collection video AND valid info. ❤️❤️

Michelle Mercil: Also love that magenta curly wig! So sassy and cute!!

Honey Valentina: Can I just say, I LOVE the auntie wig! It's so flattering on a lot of people, even young people. I'm low key waiting for it to come back in fashion non-ironically

Tianka Pharaoh: ‍♀️ i’m here for alllllll the tings! Yasss Ti, slay those wigs and throw that shade! This was too good! ‍♀️

Rena Labeaud: Whats the diff between wigs/weaves and braids or faux locs? Ppl pick and choose what they wanna pick at and attack...

AyeshéIsAlwaysLovely: A Black man told me that I'm Nappy Headed and NEED to press my hair out. Meanwhile..... he's bald headed on the top, and light skinned with black lips and gums. All I could do is laugh !

JosieGoyangi: You're eloquent and badass, a pretty rare combination. ❤ Love these videos!

Lydia B.: Ti, I love it. I love this channel and your content. I am here for it. Tell the critics to get a life. Our right as African American women to control our image however we want is a beautiful thing. Plus we do this for ourselves and nobody else. Cheers to you for saying what I was thinking.

Dani Weighs In: Thank you for such a down to earth, real observations on a malignant stereotype that is foisted upon us. We need to take back our identities and image from a racist society in general, and yours is a much needed one,

Assata Auset: All the effort is appreciated, I’m here for this, the not-vlogs, product videos, holistic/natural lifestyle education. Keep it up Ti! You are greatly appreciated. The #ALLTEAALLSHADE at the end “don’t trust anyone with a morphe code” ... you always stand strong on your position. I respecccck it

DarksideBallerina: I went from giggling at my auntie for wearing wigs, to BEING the auntie that wears wigs. It irritates me that because of my depression I've been too tired to put on make up. So when I finally have the energy to put make up on, I suddenly hate myself. In reality, it's very much the opposite. I have the energy to be creative and now I'm being judged for doing so. I'll continue to do what I want thanks but no thanks.

Just Jonelle: I appreciate your perspective completely. I’m 40 years old and had relaxers And a “jerry curl” as a youngin but cut my hair my senior year in high school and have been natural since . But I never really thought wigs were an option because the only ladies I knew who were them were my grandma and aunties. But now I rock them all the time because I love changing my look and now I’ve developed psoriasis in my scalp so wigs have been my go to for a while now. It’s cool to know there are people out there who think like me.

Sheree Gaskins: The fake cry with three wigs is hilarious I love Ti more and more❤❤❤

Monica M: I am on both sides of the fence. I love variety if that’s really what it is. I also like the “natural” look and the attitude of “HA! Didn’t know I could rock my own shit. Did you?!” Overall it ain’t a man’s business and women need to be more supportive of each other instead of catty AF

Marina A: Never trust anyone with a morphe code!!!! .

Emily Rachel Gilley: OK the editing and styling you put into this, can we all just give a round of applause, dang. Also, I don't get why people can't mind their own business about what women do with their bodies including how they dress, style their hair, etc. The world would be so much better if people minded their damn business

Branka Kordic: "Take her swimming on the first date meanwhile you're sweating the same women you're trying to humiliate". LOL But also very accurate. I've had men tell me I needed to lose weight while pursuing me. I don't know what that has to do with anything but I sure know it has nothing to do with me. Something about insecure men wanting to use the women they pursue as a proxy for their own value is just so offputting. Thank you for your content. I love your channel.

P Lee: I love this video! This was such an enjoyable mix of social commentary, sarcasm, and humor. I hope you had fun making this video.

Tessitura9: It's quite simple why I wear wigs: - Turns out less hair manipulation is AMAZING for hair growth and health - I can change my styles up as frequently/ drastically as I wish with 0 regret or consequences - I don't want to deal with microaggressions or random questions / comments about my hair - I have internalized "hair inferiority" due to the consistent, daily reminder from society, media and black men (and i say black men specifically because it's literally never been an issue with other races of men in my personal experience) - They're way more affordable than going to the salon and getting the same look done to my natural hair (and again, without the damage). - First started wearing wigs when I went natural after my big chop so I didn't feel insecure about having short hair that I hadn't yet figured out how to take care of because I grew up with relaxers Theres a host of reasons I wear wigs. And I fully acknowledge them all.

Sharon Sheffield: GIRL!!! Can I just say thank you for this rant it was beautiful and so SPOT ON!!!! I don't wear makeup for men, it does change my mood when I wear it!!! I'm 54 years old and if I want to wear some false eyelashes today I WILL!!! And Alicia Keys PLEASE SIT DOWN!!!! Enough said about her. Your point was so funny and clever the way you conveyed your points, just so intelligent and entertaining. Also, black men who don't like black women who wear straight weaves need to stop seeking women with straight hair since it's so offensive to them, I'm just saying!!! I love your channel, I don't know how I found you but so glad I did.

pajamagirl123: Girl you put in WORK for this video and it turned out amazing!! I can't tell you how much I'm loving the shift in your content. You've found your niche and it shows

ChandaurRoshini: Lol. Loved the intro. I really enjoy hearing your opinion on these things. As a woman who is a POC but not Black, I like knowing the struggles/paths of life for Black people (and other minorities) so that I can be sure that if I’m championing something, it isn’t helping my small subsect of POC, but harming to the POC community at large.

Rhonda Denis: I love this video, great content, great editing. I love you Ti . Keep being you.

Sistah_Souljah: The pink curly wig was everything on your skin ma’am!!!! but yes they love to tell black women who we are and how we feel, it’s jealousy, we are all beautiful and the more black women grow and love each other the better the world gets in general, don’t let Brad and Becky tell you how to look, you are the most beautiful when you are the most confident queens!

vegewoman: First time on your channel. I love your professional delivery and the content is fire. The debate of weave and make up means you hate yourself is a fallacy, farce, and tom foolery. It seems to be a way to verbally abuse black women.

Koppa Bam: I effing love your entire cadence through, this video is amazing ‍♀️

Lexi Harris: I feel the same. I don’t want my hair falling out cause I’m doing too much. No point in straightening my hair when it’s just gone puff back up ‍♀️.

Vern Milliken: I cannot laugh hard enough. Girl!!! I can’t. This was hilarious. I always love to see the makeup looks and hair hats everyone is wearing. It’s an adventure of creativity everyday. This video was amazing. The setup- You killed it. Applause please for Ti I love that auntie wig. It fits you. All your hair hats look wonderful. Slay Sunday to Saturday. Job well done

danigirl562: 35 seconds in.... this vid is going in the Favs

Yaya says: I LOVE THIS VIDEO! People who say all these things need to sit the "bleep" down, take a chill pill and fix their own issues.

FrenchieSIX: I literally hate combing my real hair...hate it! So wigs ain’t going nowhere ‍♀️

MariaTeru18: LOL, I loved the wig changing thing! I've been following you since the Tasted days and you never fail to make me laugh and have a wonderful time watching your videos (I still remember that one video where you got totally wasted while watching Home Alone and laugh my ass off everytime xD). Here in my country we have a similar issue nowadays, relaxing your hair used to be the norm, in fact, many of our moms/grannys still do it to this day because they can no longer work their curly hair... but now with the advent of this "natural trend" women are crapping on each other just because they're... I don't know, being different? I mean, now the scale has gone the other way, and now the curly girls crap on the girls who like to keep their hair relaxed telling them that "You're still brainwashed into thinking your natural hair is not cute, your hair looks ugly that way, you internally hate yourself if you still do that" and many other things that used to be said to the women who kept their natural curls. It baflles me, how about we try being ok with other people's life choices? She keeps her hair curly? Good for her, She relaxes her hair? Good for her, She uses wigs/weaves? Goodforher! I'm one of the girls who relaxes, but I still use my curls, I just do it so my hair is more managable, but I don't blowdry nor straighten it and I just use mild relaxers on the top of my hair so it doesn't get all tangled, I've been told that I just need to take a "leap of faith" and stop doing it, but why tho? I enjoy my hair like this... and it's MY hair, I'm the one using it... it doesn't mean I don't love myself nor my heritage, it means I enjoy it in a slightly different way, and guess what? That's OK Love your curls/straight, love your melanin (In whatever concentration you have it), love your little rolls (or lackthere of), love that part of your body you just haven't become in terms with, and be proud... because out of the 7k million people in the world, you're... you, and at the end of the day... you're not being fed by other people's opinion.

Joyce Pinto: I stopped wearing wigs when for the first time I worked with white people (I’m from Africa living in Europe) and they assumed I wanted to mimic their hair and felt superior for it. I took a hard look at myself and decided that whatever else, I would never wear something that made me feel like that. My hair is not inferior just like my skin isn’t and I’ll be fuckin damned if anything I do make anybody think otherwise.

rene pierre: Omg i can relate to this 100% I loooove this girl❤❤❤ you had me dying changing your wigs throughout the video & they were all bomb yaaaas beautiful

LadyTee Severs: I swear you take my thoughts and articulate them so well! Well played and well delivered! Loved the topic and your points...#agreed Please keep these videos coming!

Veronica Gorgeois: Funny how when I dyed my hair fuchsia, I suddenly had black women and teenagers stopping me all the time to talk about my hair color. Never happened when I was blonde. It's almost as if fuchsia hair is... fun??! Really well written video Ti! I want to write a hot take about how men who wear those knee-length oversized rectangle shorts are really just oppressed and ashamed to show their natural legs. Poor babies.

brandi jones: As if I wasn't already finna hit the like button sis came out with the Edna Mode wig!!❤

Lexi Koneko: The wig montage was great! For some reason everytime you changed wigs I had a soundtrack playing in my head, along with dance moves . As always great content, I was once talking to this person and they made a comment about how wigs and such make you look ridiculous when you should be proud of yourself and your appearance! Said person clearly had some self hate toward themselves and tried to make me feel bad. NOPE not this girl... Bye! Now that I have discovered the wonders of hypoallergenic hair (Thank the higher powers for that), your girl is back in the game, changing the world one look at a time.

Roberta Wright: This video was too relevant to my life for my liking. Literally just ended a 10 year friendship with a guy that I was exploring having a much more permanent space with. We live in different states and he makes comments so similar to this all time about women in general. About a week ago we went on a an unwarranted tantrum about what women expect from men and how it's unrealistic for women to want to be treated well when all they do is hide behind makeup weaves filters and great angles. Literally got home and decided exactly what you said. If that's not your preference then leave me the hell alone. With total transparency I ended up spend time with a close make friend of mine and he said how nice I looked and complemented me weave and make up and I burst into tears. Subconsciously I realised how deprived I was of that sort of energy. I could never spend time in relationship tryna to convince someone that my creative outlet and a form of self-care at times isn't a cry for help or that I hate myself. That friendship is over which is sad but I'm so relieved. Good video and such a confirmation on this!

SuperDesignChick: Who tha fuck is criticizing your hair and makeup?!? What?!? You have looked absolutely beautiful in every single video I’ve seen you in! You just do what makes you happy. The rest can take a seat.

Beautiful Child: Love this video so much! I heard of protective styling from the model Wanakee when she created her hair care guides to go along with her phenomenal hair care products.

Tiffany P.: I loved that you keep switching wigs throughout video. I keep my comments to myself about others need to wear makeup and change their hair. As long as you feel beautiful and are confident do you sis! Everyone has their preference so let women express themselves the way they want to do it!

sekhmetsaes: Can I just say I am in awe of your hair collection?

Michelle Johnson: You legit made me crack up. I am bingeing your channel as I pack for an international move and you are such intelligent, entertaining, cool company. Thank you!

A.M.B.: No explanation required. I've been wearing "Other hair" since I was in preschool, heck I was famous for wearing hairpieces on picture day, that's how everyone knew it was picture day. I love different styles and fashion and its a form of expression for me. Did they come for me "Yes" did they find what they were looking for Nope. I don't back down or run. I do love myself as well as others. Its' a shame that in this day and age women still feel the need to address these topics because others try to define them. How sad because there are far more issues to discuss than the amount of makeup and the length of hair that someone else in wearing. I love all your "Weaves" by the way. Auntie is cute!

LoverofmySoul: I know it was not easy to film or edit this video so seemlessly. This is a work of art. We should all know by now: 'Never pay attention to what a man say but what he do.'

Ebony Hagans-Greene: The way this thumbnail is SENDING me Edit: THE WAY THESE SWITCHING WIGS ARE SENDING MEEEEEEE (especially the Edna Mode ) I live. An execution, a concept

Viktoria B.: Wow, this must have been a ton of work to script and edit - a real high quality content. Thank you for bringing this topic up - I've looked at the subject from the whole different angle

Ada Mbata: Love this video. This must've taken a lot of work. Btw, I love the phony ponies. Because of you, I have one. I really like the red curly wig. And, your makeup is the bomb.

W: You rocked the hell outta that afro wig!!!

TheAlxXxandRuh: Your message, delivery, and production are fantastic.

britany johnson: This is on point!! Brandy brought the extension braids into mainstream..Beyoncé is 100% responsible for the wig culture

UKLeonie: I apologise to all the fake wearers, I was jealous my lazy ass wanted more bedtime in the morning. I secretly wanted to be full faced beat to death, with a flawless weave, but I rock a natural bun and lip gloss cause I'm boring. Carry on sistas you got style.

D H: There was a lot here, as always. I will say this. Question: Why take someone swimming on the first date? I can see a lot wrong with that, most of it being superficial reasoning. What someone looks like on the outside (how they choose to express themselves) shouldn't matter in the grand scheme of things. It's what's on the inside that counts. Anyone focusing too much on the exterior is shallow in my opinion. And I don't mean the people that put effort into their looks, I am talking about the people that judge them. As far as the natural hair community, there is a lot of gray area IMO. I have to ask myself what it truly means to be natural. What is the actual definition? Because I learned recently that multi-racial girls are not considered natural to a lot of people in the natural hair community. This was news to me. Before I went natural and before it was a "movement" people considered women with relaxers "wearing their natural hair" if they didn't wear extensions or fake hair. Nowadays you can be natural underneath the fake hair but still not considered natural because you are wearing fake hair. If you color your hair, some people would say that your hair is not natural. Some people think people with dreadlocks are not natural because it is not loose natural hair. So I don't know what to think when it comes to the natural hair community. It is a lot more complicated than I ever thought it was. I consider myself natural, but I finally found my crochet needle so I will be doing crochet braids soon lol. All in all, that to me is a whole other rabbit hole of issues we could go down if we wanted to. I know a lot of people have differing opinions about that.

Journey with Kira Dee: I enjoyed this video and I appreciate all the work you put in.

Flower Jade: I was so distracted by the cleopatra wig. I love it SO much. Going to recreate it. Thanks for your creativity

Mykenya Simmons: The best decision I've made in 2019 is subscribing to you!
