And i was like one day open the curtains and there's like red, give that bump hello guys. I rarely talk about anti-trans because you know i'm very old-fashioned in some way, so i can't just be trendy. I just can't by nature. I think it's important to know about anti-trans, not in the sense that invalidating your personal style, because you can have loads of vintage outfits and that will look so trendy more trendy than the trendiest things nowadays, and i made my own anti-trans list based on the trends. First of all, anti-trans is yeah, as i said, something that really pops out as outdated right now. So from the first site, everything is on trend. Even mullet, which was a big no-no even like five years ago, was just embarrassing to have a mullet and to see somebody with a mullet. We start celebrating that ugliness something that we considered ugly several years before, so we have even some kind of a prediction. What looks pretty ugly today, we might save it for tomorrow, so first anti-trend that i would talk about is perm. I don't know about america how it's happening here, but you know in russia we have many salons that still do that. Perm thing, starting probably since the 80s and women they wanted some kind of a fluff there. You know some kind of a dandelion slightly just to give it a bit more volume. You know and just to give an appearance of a bigger hair and normally they would cut it short, like this all same lengths around their head and do that perm. Now the permit is a tricky thing, because, if you're doing for a long hair, it sometimes can be a total disaster because they can be curl curl then, like this part of a straight hair and then curl again and then again straight hair, you never know how It'S gon na go after they wash their hair, they used some hair mousse and they put it all over their hair and they would just smash it like this with their hands and leave it dry like this. So the hair looked wet when the hair looked wet and having all those very like threads, like curls, very small threads like curls, it's kind of an half, bold off-road. So first of all, you could see bold skin showing through everywhere, because there's not much hair. Probably it's just a thin hair that just wanted to give that bump, so that looked like wet curly, hair and that looked actually smaller amount of hair, but sometimes after that, when when they decided to brush it, then it looked like dandelion or like a cotton ball. It became looking very matte and still very light on shape and see through kind of you could see through that. If you looked at her like the light going through. So that also was not the perfect example of great curliness, because if you compare a lady with a lot of hair with curly hair, that looks different, that looks healthy. That looks just the nature and i could see also younger women. They were still doing that on the shorter hair or the hair, with layering or long bobs, especially in combination with bleached hairs like the yellow hair, which already was not very healthy. Looking and with that strange perm and normally you can see on the face by the color of the skin by the facial features, you can already see that this is not the person who was created with that curly hair. You know that intense curls. So when we look at it, it's just something doesn't match. Of course i understand the struggle. Of course we want some more volume. Of course we want to spend a bit less time in front of a mirror, just wake up and go. You know, but i think, there's still no such a perm that would do thicker and bigger curls. If that perm existed, i think they started already developing now, some of them and some people start doing this, but first of all your hair grows out. It starts being very straight here on top, so that's a lot of nuances still with that, but i think it would be amazing if they would come up with a great perm hair idea number two, and i'm trying to be very careful here now, because it very Much depends on who that is on and how it's made and what color hair is, and many many other details style wise. The concept is important, so in this case it's a very short, very asymmetric bob, especially when it's done with more much volume and when it's hair sprayed to a helmet hair. So normally it's popular among 40 plus women, very short, back slightly rounded back layered back and then it goes into that very much diagonal lines going down to the chin area. Now, if it's below the chin, it's nice, because it creates some shadow on the neck and making your chin slightly pop and go forward and make that area very stiff, more lifted and more tight. Looking so that by itself that the asymmetric bob with slight elongation here at the front can look amazing, it's actually one of the most universal haircuts. There can be. It always looks very sexy and sophisticated, but when it's very short, especially with some volume and especially when it's very highlighted with some stripes or that honey blonde kind of a hair, just to give it a little bit freshness to our look, and especially in combination with Shortened jeans or pants slightly below the knee and a t-shirt or a top with stones, preferably with some butterflies or some beautiful flowers. Something like this, and especially if the woman is slightly soft, she has some figure. I would rather go for like growing that a little bit, maybe hair color a little bit different, slightly break the pattern a little bit. You know with a style wise or something just in general. I think the woman is slightly rounded those sleek lines, those clean lines. Those sharp lines can actually exaggerate the fullness, probably something a bit more relaxed, would be better. But again, i think if we talk about this particular haircut, i think we have to see each woman individually and see how it works on her. Particularly number three is flipped out bob. This is something that i don't see. Maybe it even started in the 80s though, but i think closer to the 90s. So i think this is one of those things that we don't see very often now, especially if the woman considers herself looking pretty classy and elegant. You just won't see that number four would be probably something childish, childish, braids, two ponytails, for example, here on top on women, of a slightly older age than kids. If we talk about teenage girls who actually try to look cool and sexy and classy and kind of grown up already right, so i hardly can see them wearing that right now, but i can imagine that people start wearing it in several years, just because everything else, All we already experienced number five would be a lot of hair extensions, especially here on the bottom. People'S eyes can predict if you don't have enough hair on top and then you suddenly have like three times more hair on the bottom and they're like like that. It'S not matching our eyes, they can predict the nature of a thing. The nature of the body and many women started having those just because it was a new thing. It was heaviness it's to have something, but when finally, you can have it and many people can have it you're kind of like okay, it's not practical. It'S pretty hard to maintain that's a lot of headache with that kind of a hair, but i'm not saying just about hair hair extensions. I'M talking about a lot of hair extensions on the bottom and very little on top that would not match number six is probably curls like ribbons very hair sprayed, not combed you're, making the curl, and then you spray it right away, and it stays like this. Like a ribbon, they stay very stiff and it looks slightly like wigs of previous centuries. Even but i would say mostly, it reminds me of 2 000 brides updos different kinds of things like this. I myself had this many times. It was very beautiful that stayed till the night that was very stiff felt like i would turn my head. The curls would stay here. You know, i think, in a very old-fashioned salons, when hairdressers actually studied this technique into thousands and the end of the 90s, so they know how to do just that and they are not growing as professionals. I think this is what still can occur that stiffness. So i can see it pretty often in old-fashioned photo sessions of women number seven, and i will not surprise you because i've talked about it many times it's 90s stripes the highlights very bright and contrasted right from the roots to the ends, and sometimes even when the Hair is layered, the ants get very dark because it's like the hair on the bottom is dark and then start having the highlights and then highlights, go very solid at the very top. They normally do it on foil technique, not like balayage right now, we're just drawing and let it air on air, and you know in early 2000s. I remember that has been actually very expensive, hair color procedure and it probably was the most expensive i would say, and they called it coloration, hair, coloration and not even highlights highlights. It was just on foil bleaching, some stripes on your hair. That was highlights, but the most expensive was coloration, at least in russia. I don't know how they call it here in the united states when they did coloration, they did it with three colors bleached blonde, like this buttery blonde. Second, color was orange and third color was black or dark brown. They said it is multi-dimensional volumizing, hair coloration that takes long time to do and highest skills of a professional. So you won't regret the investment i never asked for it, but i wanted it, but i never asked for it because i didn't have any money and i was like one day. Luckily it was out of trend and i don't think it's beautiful still. Maybe something will change in the future, but i still don't think that it's a trend in the context of the outfits number eight is too round and too big volume on the hair, which is not in proportion with the size of the face and with the size Of the body - and i still see this especially with older ladies - they get this whether blow out or they become their hair too much, especially in combination with you know that looks a little bit like grown up pixie, not kind of a bob. It'S like a layered bob, so it would be easier to backcomb and then slightly wispy bangs. That is rounded here in front, especially with combination with those stripy hair color. I think this is an anti-trend and it's very aging, and i think it looks very old-fashioned. That'S rounded blowout personally, so i just don't see it in any context. Right now, i don't see people play with this kind of a hair. I don't see it in the near future as well. Number: nine it's bright, stripes on the hair or bright hair underneath and on top is natural color open the curtains and there's like red. I think, first of all, the process of the work itself and before and after result is very fun to watch on tick tok. On youtube videos on short videos like that, just for entertainment for fast entertainment, and i think it's so fun to watch that some people get inspired. First of all, it's not practical, so people get tired of it pretty fast. It'S pretty fun, i think at the beginning, but if there's like no style just a regular style, regular sized woman, feminine and stuff like that, and then she has the stripes, it sometimes doesn't make sense style wise, but there always be punk. Women they'll always be women who are futuristic rebellion. They show their personalities. So that's fine. It'S just. I think this is not very practical because you got ta know how what to do with that. Also, if you had dark hair to make those bright, bright, bright, hair, you first bleach them to the very pale yellow color, and then you can make them bright and bright. Colors normally leave very fast, and then that washes out the color. And then the color is bleached yellow, so you got ta go back to your natural color or you just do something with it, but i think every very extravagant and strange trend is very short and number 10 creative coloration again, i'm not sure how they call it Here in the united states, but in russia they used to call it creative coloration for the hair and it started probably in the 60s first, when vidal sassoon is a very famous hairdresser who created that very sleek bob and very complicated different shades of different a-line blobs Asymmetric bobs and he did like hair by hair and the bob was perfectly shaped. So the woman would kind of wake up and go, and i think it became a basis to show your creativity in the way how you can actually cut per person's hair. Because at some point they started being contests for hairdressers where they showed their craft. But you can't just surprise anyone by just doing the straight bob for them or just coloring, hair, all the same color. So for the contests hairdressers. They actually had to do step forward and make something strange, unusual, different kinds of layers, sharp layers, stairs steps, zigzags and then color this hair accordingly to the shape like if it's a longer, then i'm gon na. Do it this stripe here. If it's a zigzag here, i'm gon na do like a red thing underneath, so that would be like hard to do so. This is approximately how that looks, and i think it started in the 90s, when there are many salons, where they started using those kind of pictures as a promo of the salon, even though doubt that any woman ever asked them. Can you do please hair for me, like you have the picture here in the window? I doubt that, but probably you remember that you're sitting there you're waiting and you're getting a magazine checking it, and this is probably what you see there all the time. But this is not something that you will ask for yourself, but then there are some hairdressers that are missing the contest so much so they tell to their clients. Let'S do something make you pop it's very hard to do. I know how to do it. Let'S do it, i can see more like with the older generation, because probably not many of them follow the trends, so they don't quite know what they want and if the hairdresser tells them what to do they're like excited, they think um. She probably knows better. What would fit me? Okay, yeah, let's do it so i can see so many older women in those regular salons, 60 plus 70, plus with us creativity on their head. Maybe not very often, you can see this right now, but there's also a culture emel teenagers in 2000, emotional and hardcore songs with very sad lyrics, but at the same time pretty like punkish and their hair was mostly like black with some pink stripes. And that is a culture. It'S a little bit different. It'S a whole concept, piercing the makeup, the music you're listening to backpack or something you know like it's a vibe, but there's nothing to do with this kind of like a regular. If you want to have like that interesting haircut, so many hairdressers they're just not looking on trends, so something that they learned in the 90s, probably in the 2000s, and they are still doing this same things without trying to learn something new and trying to find out What is trendy nowadays, what kind of body she has what kind of face she has? You know that's important to know. I think it's my own observation about anti-trans. For today it's gon na happen tomorrow, we're gon na wait and see and if you think about more anti-trends, please let me know in the comments also, you can check this video 15 things that make you look tired, i'm also talking about hair color. So i'm going to leave the link down below or you can click right here. Thank you so much for watching. If you want to support me, you can subscribe on my patreon or click join button. Here this way you'll be my sponsor and i'll. You will see all the videos early. Thank you so much bye,

Returning Shadow: The asymmetric Bob is currently known as the "Karen Hair".

Ricarda Kuprat: We had this franchise hairdresser brand in Germany in der late 90s 2000s that was called "unisex". They did creative Hair coloration only, no "normal" haircuts. People would sit outside the Salon in rows with their coloration foils on like pigeons that stepped on colour bombs. It was hilarious, but it is a typical memory of being a teenager in those days in Germany.

The Pedersen Homestead: As a person with pin straight hair who started getting perms recently, the BEST part of a perm is that my hair can hold a style. So I can use a barrel curler and the curls won’t immediately fall out. Or, I can put a pin or barrette in and it won’t slide out. And I can go more time between washes, because my hair gets less greasy looking. The actual curls from the perm only show up on me when I wash my hair for the first day. Then my hair becomes slightly wavy and then straight again, but able to hold almost any style. I’m so glad I finally got the perm I wanted as an 80s kid, because it makes my hair easier to manage!

Dolly: "What looks pretty ugly for today, we might save it for tomorrow" I love that!

Susan: It's so much fun to approach trends from the opposite direction like this. Thank you, Aly!

Lepa Jelena: The anti-trends usually become the trends. I remember when Drew Barrymore came out with ombré in the early 2000s and I was thinking that’s just roots and she needs to get her hair done

ProcrastPerfection: You are the first person to explain why Karen hair is so popular. It does seem like women who are interested in a new look/ behind the trends giving a blank canvas to nostalgic hairdressers.

J R: I remember having a perm on my longer thin hair. I was told to use conditioner instead of hair gel or musse, which made my locks nicely hydrated, soft and looking natural. I remember people who first met me would think it's my natural hair. Once it started growing out if I put it in a ponytail I could make an easy messy bun with only a few pins. I actually look at my pictures back than and I don't cringe. My body type is Romantic, so that probably helped.

J R: When you're doing crazy colours remember to think what it looks like from a distance. For example if your skin is light in colour and you'll for example get a blond fringe or triangle on your head, etc and the rest of your hair is darker you'll look like you have a bold patch or a very receding hairline.

OA: Thanks for sharing these anti-trends Aly! Interestingly, in the black community, "#5 a lot of extensions" is currently a common trend as opposed to it being an anti-trend in the white community. 30 inch wigs is definitely commonplace but one thing I will say is, at least the proportions of top somewhat match the volume and density towards the bottom when I see black women adorning these styles! Edit: Come on spell check ...

MarieShivje: I committed to an anti trend 3 years ago; growing out my grey hair while rocking dreadlocks. Love it. If my health permits it, I’ll never cut it again.

Returning Shadow: Women's 80s hair was the best hair. Every person's hair was different in terms of style while at the same time everyone's hair was big and flamboyant. I miss 80s hair.

Dopamine Drought: I literally have the same hair shown at 11:03 ahaha. Black with a bright pink underneath section. I've had it for over a year and I still love it and wouldn't change it for the world. But then again, I've always loved this specific shade of pink in combination with black, not just as a trend. It feels personal to me. I also dress in a dark streetwear vibe with cyberpunk influences, it looks cohesive

Ellix Rose: I'm from Germany and currently, Germany's next Topmodel is on. They gave one of the contestants a perm, but the curls were slightly bigger than back in the day and more flowing - still smaller curls but those lie on the head more naturally. For me personally, if it was possible to make even bigger curls - I don't know if it already is - that would be a great option. I remember going to the hairdresser in the countryside and getting those ribbon curls for a celebration and feeling awkward all day. I'm a FN and the look felt so stiff and forced. Aly, I like your humour in this video. Also, if I had one of the haircuts that you mentioned, I wouldn't be hurt by your explanations.

TakaiDesu: I had my hair dyed light blue in 2011, when I was 15 years old! In a time that nobody used to color their hair bright “strange” colors yet. Nowdays (26 years old) I see so many non-punky or maybe “tiktok era” girls with those colors that I just decided to keep my hair the natural color much more practical since its naturally black too So yes, I’m always going to avoid trendy, but also without being antiquated. Yesterday I gave some money to my grandma to do hairstyle and she said she will do a perm Haha she must miss her younger times so much, where it was trendy I’m sure I will wear all stars converse shoes when I am old

Marta Cielecka: OMG! When you said about older women with "crazy hairstyles" I immediately thought about my mom Unfortunately very short hair and a "creative" style doesn't suit my mom's face and her body at all, and even though I'm telling her over and over again "Don't do it! It looks terrible!" she cannot stop! I lost all hope that one day I'm gonna see her with a classic bob

Ayesha S: I do like the Japanese “digital perms” that are S, C etc shapes, just at the bottom of the hair to give it nice shape

aicerg: 8:51 is my nightmare. I have been wanting some highlights in my hair, even babylights just to give more life to it, and EVERY SINGLE salon in my area seems to only offer this stripe-y hair. I would never, my god.

Tracey U: I’ve been researching 1940’s style lately for a family reunion party I’m going to next year. Woman’s hair in the 40’s is always curled, never straight, and always off their face. If they have fringe/bangs, it is only so they can curl it. Short, medium, long…always curled. It is largely true of the 1950’s too. Very feminine look back then.

Sinead Whitfield: I really don't understand why your subscriptions are not in the millions!

trapease: digital perms and modern perms in asian salons have larger curls/wavy results, that would be what i would consider if i ever wanted a perm

Tiff Ann: The best way to get a good perm is making sure you use larger rods. It will be much softer and easier to wear. Just say no to the small poodle, grandma rods.

marianne richard: One of my friend is hairdresser, every time I see her, she has a new multi color dye. She does it herself, so it's not that costy. She pairs it with Instagram eye makeup. As catastrophic as it sounds on paper, she is wearing it quite well, my guess is she is in the Gamine family. I also have a niece with a curtain coloration, a layer of red sandwiched between natural brown hair. She has a layered cut, so the red part is always visible, although not the main color. She says she want to cut the image of a model student, as she always have good marks, so it's more like a teen punk thing. She wears it very well too. Hard to tell the body type at this age, but I would say either Dramatic, Flamboyant Natural or Dramatic Classic, but I tend to FN.

ем оладьи: I can definitely see two ponytails make a big come back among gen z with influencers like ashnikko and bella poarch, possibly it is bc of anime coming back in trend same thing here in russia it still looks awkward on most of the grown ups tho

Happy Whale: I would add hairstyle made with hairsprying hair and using diffuser in combination with straight bangs. I got this hairstyle when I was 11 years old, I went to the salon by myself and I was so ashamed to go home

MellowJelly: I'll always love the hyper colourful fantasy hair, Ask Aislin on youtube is someone whose personality and entire style matches that hair, so it suits her well, regardless if its in trend or not. I have similar hair, my hair is always in that cruella-de-vil half black half white thing. it just suits me and the rest of my outfits every day so I love it, whenever I get rid of it, I miss it!!

Ruby XO: I agree with you in almost everything except about the perm. I’ve seen it on myself and other people how perm gives a lot of volume on the hair, I think it depends on the texture of your hair, the rods, and the way you set it up on the hair. Example: some like to use different sizes of rods going in different directions, while others use the same size rods with a specific pattern on the placement. Perhaps in the beginning stages the hair does look wet when you put muse, but over time I noticed it does pick up volume as long as you keep trimming it, and using the right products (conditioner, cream, gels, hairspray, there’s so many options now!) It gives your hair a fuller look, you can’t see through it unless you already bleached it heavily. Also about the childish ponytails, I feel like gamines or other young looking body types, can definitely rock that.

lu: number 2 is the karen haircut hahsha; also what you said about number 10 was sooo interesting, my grandmother is a hairstylist so i grew up watching those pictures and i remember asking to myself as a kid "these hairstyles are so weird, who ever ask for this?" and thanks to you today i learned about the creative competitions wow this is why i love your channel so much, i always learn something

Purrgundy: I like the creative coloration/weird cuts contests. It pushes creativity and it looks fun, so far from everyday hairstyles the artists are used to make in their daily routines.

Δεσποινα Σταφυλα: Makeup anti trends 2022 video please ❤️❤️❤️

Di M: I think I’ve lived through 6 maybe 7 of these anti trends. No regrets. I thought I looked great. I remember the Sun In trend where you would spray the Sun In and it would bleach parts of your hair in the sun (I think it was just peroxide) but of course if you started with black hair it would just turn orange. Now I embrace my natural hair texture and go for what is considered a more classic look or maybe classic is my current tend and I’ll look back in the future at my current hair and laugh.

Sofia Cunha: I've been wearing the colorful stripes for 2 years ‍♀️ for me who used to have completely dyed hair, it was a way to transition back to my natural hair without losing the colors completely

Daria Strunina: Алена, обожаю твои видео и особенно твой тон, ты так приятно рассказываешь обо всем. Спасибо!!!

Naomi Vandici: Aly being sarcastic, love it.

Lira Kabanova: Perfect vivid explanation of permed hair after mousse "bold afro" so true! that's why afro crochet extensions are so popular now -to have that volume!

Mika PH: love this concept! Look at what we consider ugly today, and that will be the new trend.

H N: I love this video! Please more of these anti trends videos, maybe in makeup or accesories?

Diana Munteanu: Aly, look into Korean Perms or Digital Perms. I think they look beautiful and modern.

Viola DeWynter: I think pigtails might be coming back but a bit different. You see artists like Jennie from Blackpink, Bella Poarch, and Ariana Grande with super long pigtails with extensions and it looks really cute.

Pumibel: I can't get past the perm solution smell. A whiff of that tells you that it should not be anywhere near your face. The "flipped out bob" styles you pictured are reminiscent of Rachel Welch wigs from the 80s. Catalog photography at its pinnacle!

Kathryn Louise Berman: #2 has been around for far too long and is called the "Teacher/nurse's cut" where I'm from. Many pair it with those awful stripey highlights.

DoraSometimes: "Half bold Afro"....my God, I absolutely love your sense of humour! I like this kind of videos. They are polite, but very insightful. Well, I like every kind of video you make. Greetings from Croatia

thedevilandhertrumpets: I miss the ribbon curls (would lightly comb them out) because my hair would actually hold them. My dream hair is huge 90s supermodel volume.

lucy a: your analyses are very inspiring ❤️

Dawn Holmes: Also, brazilian keratin treatments look nice at the beginning, but as hair grows, the roots have more volume because of the different texture, so it looks terrible. If your hair tends to frizz a lot, you probably have wavy or curly hair. Learn how to care for it instead of going for keratin.

MoriarTea: Hey Aly! I totally disagree with perms! Natural small curls on blonde european women look exactly like 3:38. Now they produce care products that allow these natural small curls to be graphic. It's not a perm, It's just natural & it can't be anti-trend.

Serenity: Personally, I think platinum hair straight up and down with a beret is very 90s and Karen like. I used to wear that style in the 80s. (Also, being critical of females in general and super bitchy is very 90s).

Alexandria: thinking about doing a split dye like the rainbow one on my dark hair sounds like such a pain. one half of my head would be all fried and crispy and the other side would be healthy and normal lol

debbie wendland: You always nail it perfectly !

Mary Kay: Hi hope you are doing well. I have a question. Everytime I put on foundation specifically I feel like my face looks flat and ashy. Even with contour and blush I feel like it washes me out. I even got it shade matched. My face shape is square btw. Any suggestions? Ty!

Pauline Moore: In Russia, now if we do permanent styling, then we make large curls, then you can separately twist the roots

Bel D.: The "perm" examples ware just like some natural wavy (2b or 2c) fine hair.... To say it doesn't match with the face is kind of mean. I know a lot of people in my country that has NATRULLY that kind of hair. It's just a different kind of beauty.

margo81172: I love the flower arrangements in the hair

Carolina: Can I make a request? Could you please do haircuts that could work for women with wavy hair, to all bodytypes? Generally, because of course many women have the head of one type and the body other. I struggle a lot as soft gamine because my hair is too volumous wavy, even at short length. And all the pictures I search for soft gamines hair are women with straight hair...

Trash Can: 90s stripes are actually in! I work with some teenagers who have hair like that. I was shocked.

wildflower: I think the Karen haircut looks better on someone that's maybe in their 20's and looks good in leather pants

Elizabeth Roa: I think 90's stripes look good on FNs (given they have the right hair cut/style. My mom is a FN and once she did regular highlights but on her it looked like grey hair, she said the hair dresser had the same but she looked better, it was a short womam she said.

MellowJelly: It's strange, the populace agrees that a mullet looks good on girls right now but still pretty unacceptable on men. At least from my perspective lol

Tanya G: Perms rock! Short asymmetrical bob with stripe highlights is the worst hairstyle in history.

schneeroseful: If you watch Brad Mondo, you think the Skunk stripe and bright stripes are coming back with the y2k trend. Christina Aguileras stripes were actually clip-ins I feel the "older women" who let the hairdresser do whatever are like 40-50 in Germany

Returning Shadow: Aly, I would love to see you pull off an 80s hair style.

T H: People, cut and color and wear your hair as you want. Life is short. Make yourself happy.

Nikita Maree: I have the curtain look I have natural blonde hair with Teal die underneath. Every few months I change the color underneath. I am not sure what kind of a woman I am, definitely not punk. I am a Flamboyant Natural, that tries to dress to suit that, but my hair is something I have always struggled with. So I just put colour in it for fun. I don't think it suits me, but I will probably keep doing it. Loved this video. I have also tried a perm in the past to get volume (my hair is soooo flat and thin at the front). But like Ally said, it looked separate and unnatural on me.

Karen Levitt: Love this! But let’s not forget about the trends that we can see coming down the road. I just saw a picture on my social media of a woman who was getting ready to get a shag haircut( been trending for a while now)The only issue is that her current natural hair falls into a beautiful ‘Hollywood Wave’ ( think Veronica Lake) that’s just starting to trend. She’s going to be so sad in 6 months. I’d rather be ahead of the curve than right in the middle, myself, as long as I feel good about how I look.

kittencrusher: you look surprisingly good with the karen cut

Sarah D: I wonder if the scalp showing through with the perm (& maybe dyed hair) is from the hair being burned off. It’s best to get a perm from a perm specialist, not just a hairstylist.

Alice Jeevas: спасибо, очень классный и полезный канал)

Ritika Choudhary.: Hello Aly, Thank you for the video and your channel, it is the best. I wonder if you would speak about eyebrows as well as I am lost on that topic but it seems to be super important. Love you!!!

Mira Thompson: when I was 19 I went for a pixie and they gave me number 8 I made a new appointment the next day

Jasmine Carriker: I have seen the flipped out bob and chunky highlights on some people lately. It's still very alternative though

wildflower: 8. Too big volume is like the fun grandma that I think Karen wants to replicate but the fashion police still needs to be called lol

wildflower: I don't know what they did but when I was a kid and got a perm it looked more like softer ringlets or not so wild and tiny curls going every which way. I guess there are different methods or it works better on certain hair types. Maybe the ones that don't look so great are on thinner hair, wound really tight and they let it set too long?

Rachel Ann: I don’t remember the stripes in the 90s. More like the early 2000s

Lucie Donajová: Great video but I have to disagree with number 7. It's really coming back in a way.

Mika PH: also baby bangs that stand up straight was a trend in the 90's. and shaven bottom half of the hair.

memorizedvisions: To be fair, the mullet was around for centuries.

AshleyNicole: Ohhh the 90’s stripes! I remember those. I wanted those actually at 12 lol now it makes me cringe!

M P: Regarding perm, if you have natural wavy or curly hair, mousse is great to put on your wet hair, but then diffuse it with hairdryer and if it still looks stiff, break it down with hair oil and brush out WITH FINGERS, not hairbrush, not even wide tooth comb. Your hair will thank you

Helena3401: Pls tutorial about curtain bang , all tricks and tips for a good round curtain... Seems to be tricky cause 5 hairdresser messed um my hair... Failed curtain bang... It doesn't fall proper

Alexandria: the color of the hair in the bottom picture at 14:00 is really cool, like an oil slick

Abby Liu: I've wanted a perm so bad but don't want to grow out the bleach. ‍♀️

LeslieAnne Bird: I had a Vidal Sassoon Bob when I was a kid

Sylwia Tarnawska: The second one is just "Karen Style"

Katie Pie: I have thick thick thick wavey Brown hair and a hairdresser gave me a short blunt Bob with shaved on the base of hairline at the back when I was 11

Marijana0001: I just received a ton of compliments for my Princess curls, sooo.....

Mihaela Mogîldea: 8:50 these are already on track I swear I saw a girl on insta with stripes AND DAMN SHE WAS SO ATTRACTIVE. I think it's actually pretty

AC AC291: When will the mermaid curls trend go away...every IG influencet blogger hair...ughh

Kerrin Osborne: Those avant garde hairstyles and colours from the competition and magazines aren't meant for selling it to clients it's main purpose is to draw attention to their name and brand just like haute couture in fashion those big garish obscene clothes are meant for making people aware of their name and fashion house they're not concerned about selling that weird outfit people saw just focused on getting people aware of their name and brand..... Overall attracting people through their doors to sell them lots of other stuff

Melissa Duré: Perm should never be trendy

Ehsan Farham: Very useful for stylish people

Robin Moore: Crunchy perm...lol. When you over mousse or gel it. Leaves it crispy, crunchy and looks like ramen noodles...lol. The asymmetric bob...when I worked in customer service, these were the woman that you'd hear before you saw them. Clicking heels, fast walking, fast talking and all amped up on Starbucks to complain. LOL

Katie Pie: What about coloured 90's braids like Avril Levinge. Not many people would suit this.

sky lark: Hi what’s the difference between majirel 8 and 8.0 ? Thanks

kvandermeid: The highlighting needs to be chunky on very curly hair...or it does not make a noticeable difference at all. I agree on straight hair...

flura Stevenson: Thank you

Mary Alice Comedy: Lol you going in on perms for two mins is hilarious

fairytaleviola: По моему emo произносится как «имо»

The Aging Games: You forgot about crimping. :)

Swan lake: Where did you get that hat?
