Hi everyone welcome back to today's video, I'm going to be showing you on how to do a hand-painted balayage, going from dark to light technique on your clients. Also, if you guys want to follow me on instagram, my instagram is at hair by Ashley, and I will link it right here and also down in the description box below let's go ahead and get started into today's video. Ok guys. So my client and I already have a consultation and we talked about her hair. It'S always important to do a consultation first thing when your client gets there and the reason. Why is because it's always good to know the background of her hair. Also to talk about the price range and know exactly what she is looking for, the bleach I'm using is red, can flash left and I'm using a 30 volume, I'm using a one-to-one ratio, because I do want the consistency of the bleach to be a little bit. More thick, when you do a hand-painted balayage, the thickness always helps remember that power isn't coming from the bleach or the consistency it's coming from the developer, so the higher the developer that you use the higher the lift you're going to get on the hair, some techniques And some pointers for helping to do a voyage, as always remember, to keep your hand relaxed. I know that when I do my hand-painted balayage, I do it a little different than others. I tend to paint going up the hair instead of going down. I don't know why I do this, but it always just helps me more now. You'Re more than welcome to do whatever makes you feel more comfortable. Another thing to remember is always to get the bottom of the hair and make sure the consistency and everything is coated evenly, don't be going all crazy. So the reason that I am boiling this balayage is because my client does want to achieve a blonde balayage and if I were to polish her ends like I'm doing here and leaving it out in the open air. I want to really get that much of a good lift. I will only maybe lift a couple of levels, maybe a few levels with the foil. It always heats up, remember that, and so, when you use foil, you are going to get a higher lift. Also, I'm going to be taking diagonal sections on these sides and when I get towards the middle I'm going to be taking a horizontal section and I'm going to do this all the way until I get to the top of the head. I'M fine with my baby to drop some raindrops. She got me don't be going all crazy. I okay guys. So this is another technique that you can do for the top of the head, I'm going to be doing some weaving and whatever the rest of the hair. That I leave out, I will be balling those ends, so I started taking out the foil she's been sitting for about 40 minutes to an hour and, as you guys could see, she lifted pretty good. She has about a level seven to eight and she did lift really warm. So that's a good thing, because my client does like the warmer tones. I also forgot to film me mixing the toner, so I am going to be putting it in here just like this, but I'm using an 8 in 8 to WN and 8b with a 10 volume and I'm leaving it for 10 minutes. Ok, everyone. I hope that you guys enjoyed this video. Please don't forget to Like comment and subscribe to my channel and also like this video. I greatly appreciate all of your guys's love and feedback. This is indoor lighting and I will also be showing you guys. Outdoor lighting lighting always plays a huge part when taking pics for Instagram, so I always recommend to get some indoor lighting and also outdoor lighting so that your kinds can see. I hope that you guys have a wonderful rest of your guys's day and I will be back with more videos, bye, guys,

Evelyn Reyes: I got denied hair stylist apprenticeship program twice from the same salon, so finding your video, I think, is the closest to a colorist stylist training I can get to see. Amazing work.

Vanessa: Very helpful video. Thanks for being the one who changed the game for me!! I did the sides/parting similar to what you did in the back, when I got above the peridal ridge I started weaving like you did in the crown and tipped out the hair that was left out like you did in the back. The bangs just like you did. Turned out great this is a perfect look and a guide you could modify for different looks!

Marissa: I’m a hairdresser too and I also feather my brush upwards when I blend my balayages! It makes it blend THAT MUCH better

Aria Turk: How gorgeous, this is exactly the colour I want to go for. Wonderful natural blend it’s meshed so nicely with her own colour. I’m watching some videos to get ideas and have background knowledge because I don’t want to go in clueless. At least I’ll know what to expect. Hope mine turns out lovely as this one.

Yushi Kuang: I wish i had a professional like you in my area. I was pretty disappointed each time...such a transformation after one balayage.

Karen Rodriguez: The result was so pretty!!!!! I just got my second session done & mine came out caramel cause I had box dye in my hair from back in November. I loved my second session but I def think I’m gonna go back for a third. Lovely work!!!

Jarod: Beautiful balayage application and pattern (even though I was surprised watching you saturating the ends first but whatever if it works for you ! :p) the toner is great too, earned a new subscriber ! I’m craving to see more of these kind of technics, do u have an Instagram ?!

Maria: The warm tone is so beautiful! Turned out perfect!

Angie Woodring: Gorgeous! I appreciate a hairdresser that listens to their client. I love the warm tones also. But every time I tell the hairdresser that they still want to make me beige.

Emma123 _x: What an amazing job!! Stunning....would love my hair like this!

Ange C: It’s beautiful! You did an amazing job :)

Gabriella W: I love this technique!! Thank you!!!

hairbyadam: For me the most important part would have been the two balayage foils on either side of the parting which you did not show unfortunately. But the hair looked great

koality: Ridiculously beautiful started doing those foils at the bottom straight like you do And I cut so much time out of fouling while keeping the same effect! Thank you for your education!

ushua: Beautiful colour, great job, love it!

Britt Cyboran: So gorgeous will definitely be using this technique

Natalie Maher: I looooove this balayage! If only everyone can do it like you!

Kathryn Luiz: Good job! I Aways start at the bottom and go up. When I take classes (hands on) they go top down. I’ve never been comfortable with that for some reason lol. I’m so glad you made a point of that. It our own interpretation and what’s comfortable for us and individual hairstylist.

Stephanie Arias: Such pretty work!!! About how big do you take your sections and does that change depending on the thickness of the hair?

Mrs. Salsa: Great job, I love your technique!

Hollie Ann: Hey, from the UK here! How did you do the sides with the technique? Did you do them up to the top of the head with no backcombing? What would you recommend for a full fringe? Thanks you x

Sara Algarvio: Love everything about this for the color to the style. Is it possible to do a tutorial on how you curl the hair?

Kristin e: So beautiful!! Great job!!<3

Alexus Beni: Omg I love it! I’ve always liked seeing different balayage techniques

Shelly Luthultz: I love it, it's so pretty. I'm a hair stylist also and I've always thought that it's the developer that makes it really blond but i learned a couple of years ago that, that's not true. The power is in the bleach. You can get white hair with 20 vol the same as 30 or 40 vol. 20 vol will take longer to get there, keeping the integrity of the hair. 30 vol will get you there quicker. The higher the vol the faster you get there... I hope this helps

Sue Wynne: Wowww that looks AMAZING!! You did a FANTASTIC JOB

TheFriedRiceChicken: Thanks for the video! I’d love to try your technique!

Paige Patton Hargis HAMMERZIPPY: This is one of the best if not the best bayal applications I have watched in YouTube. And I have watched ALOT! I paint the bleach on my hair to get highlights every summer. I have learned a lot from trial and error over the years I do not use foils. I also break my lightening up into 3-4 sessions with the last sessions really focusing on touch ups and the “ money piece” how long did they take you? Do you feel it a must to use foils? I understand there can be spottyness when they aren’t used, but if using common sense and a thicker bleach consistency, I have found I can avoid spots and foils. Doing mine painted on with a powdered bleach 30-35 V I can be done, washed out all under a hour, my hair is almost same length color and thickness as your models. Mine is previously grown out form bleach last summer, so I don’t have to lighten all but do have to lighten and brighten and focus on new growth. Which is basically all the hair but avoiding the super light pieces at bottom But I am here to tell you it can be done yourself common sense and I bit of a artistic eye goes along ways. No foils ,no toner, no heat. But saturate is a must. This is a great after. Nice work. Very nice lift for one application!!! Was her hair all virgin? . I really wish you had show a front view! I

Teresa K: Ashley, did you use the whole tube or partial tube of each of the three toner shades? Beautiful outcome!

bonita: i love this color. my hair is about as dark as hers, but when i try bleach or even just going for some face framing highlights, it looks good for a while but then i end up having to cut my hair because of damage. it gets really dry and brittle and they end up looking aweful. i dont know why that is happening.

MrsSchnep: This is amazing!!! Great job!

I am wondering, in the back you back-combed the sections but not in the front, would one obtain similar results by just painting thin sections and leaving hair in between sections instead of back-combing? Wondering what you did on the top front of the head, was is also tease and paint? it could also be weave like you did on the upper back section.

Mayce Bautista: Omg this is the hair color i want!!!!! I have been a very black hair all my life and now that my hair starts to turn gray i want to color them and i want exactly like this...it is sooo pretty!!!
