Hi, I'm Rick Farber and we're here to do a look on our model. Inspired by Reese Witherspoon, we're gon na. Do a soft, upswept shenyang and let's go ahead and get started. What I've done now is got her hair slightly damp and I'm putting a little setting lotion in her hair just to thicken it up a little bit. So as I blow-dry it, she'll have some volume. She'S got very fine hair, so we want to build that up. Just a little bit and now we're ready to begin blow-drying, I don't use any brushes for this. Just rough dry dry, the products on my hair. You want to get a little bit of lift in her crown so where I've got the product and concentrating a little bit of heat, and I disrupt my fingers across it, so I'm getting a little bit of bound to start with. We don't want a lot. We don't want big hair, but we do want to have some volume so we'll just have to give it some space. Okay, when you feel like it's dry, you move on next thing: we're gon na. Do I'm gon na give it a real light spray with a thickening spray all over? Let it just dry quickly on its own, I'm gon na take a large barrel iron, really hot, and I'm gon na hit the ends with it. So I just get a little bit of spiral, a little bit of movement as I turn the hair and twist it into the chignon. It'S gon na have a nice grab. It'S gon na give a nice full shape. Okay, so now we're gon na switch back quickly and work on her bangs for a minute. I'M gon na take a blow dryer and set them and just give it a slight little bend because they can they're very straight and they've got a pop up. You and after you finish bending you just want to secure it for a while take a pin, curl pin and just let that sit as it cools now we're gon na move on and work on the crown. So I'm going to take a very small brush. You can use a comb whatever is comfortable for you to work with that. You can get into this small space and you want to just very lightly backcomb the roots once you do just push them out of the way just lift the hair put the brush in push down that much we're not making big hair we're just giving it a Little foundation really three sections should be good for this. Now we're gon na move on to create the shenyang. I want a mid head shape. You really want to stand back and look at your profile decide what's best. This look is really about height and moving up your elastic, I like to use the bungee cord type where it just hooks, and you wind it. You can adjust your tightness easily and it's much easier to get in on a pony if you're not using one of these try and get one without the metal band. So there we start at that, and then I'll go back and pull a little bit out. It'S not so tight. You want to break your pony tail into smaller little sub pieces that you start shaping and forming, and creating movement. She'S very fine haired, so we're gon na do a little bit of backcombing on the pieces so that they stay together. When you turn them, you just start building from here, take your sections, secure them and put a pin, and then you move on when you do your back combing try and do it to the underside of the surface so that your outside stays clean. You don't need very much as I'm doing it right now, I'm just making one loop. I take each piece. I do a little back. Combing I place it. I decide where you need fullness and then I pin it in the middle of that section right down to the base, so we're working on our last piece. Now, I'm just going to finish creating the shape, as I lay this one over and get that nice full bun tuck. This pin up it's important to to focus when you're doing this on the color of your pins she's a blonde. So clearly we need to hide these. We want to use the lightest color we can and now I'm just going to go in I've taken the pin curls out, I'm going to finish her bangs we've got a nice little bend. I want to brush through that start. Smoothing it so that when we put our spray on our product, we can just sweep that across her forehead, I'm just going to take a little polishing cream and give it a nice shine. And here she is with her finished - look enjoy you

TheCoolNerd1594: i love it! i didn't have enough bobby pins for my hair the first time i tried it, but it makes a good messy bun :D

Olivia: omg, love it, I wish I could do that!!

ariel isme: Nice pin and band work, great back combing! Lovely style :-)

Theresa Robichaud: very pretty :) i wish i could manage to do that with my hair and it look that good lol

Beenana9: I really like this. Very pretty. I have to try this.

thebluewoods: He is so gentle to her hair.=) Love this updo, thanks.

xxaprunexx: @swapmeetmomma You can make them yourself! Take a thin band and attach a hair grip onto opposite sides then you can pin one grip into the ponytail, wind the band round and then secure it with the other grip

Deepthi Shaji: she has such fine hair. i love her makeup

Korilian: Damn, she's got almost the exact haircut and length as me. I can haz this look!

Dida079: really pretty :)

Amy Tran: that's so pretty!

PlanetClaireDeluxe: it depends. you just have to "eyeball" it as my mother would say. as you bend it around your fingers it will kind of lay where it wants to. pin it and go on to the next. keep stepping back a bit and looking at it to make sure you're getting some symmetry in the overall shape.

Sarah Poderys: Love the Bangs! So Cute!

Carlos Vardi: The model is stunning!

satiya klayprayoon: very nice hair :)

eynaariffin: This is WICKED awesomE!! Imma try em noow!

ThinkingPurple: That model can fly with those long eye lashes. I mean.....just look at them!

Caitlin Murphy: I love the bangs!

preppieluv: How big is the curling iron?

Amelianna Ross: instead of combing down you comb up at try to keep it at the roots.

Dennis Aquatic farm: very nice!

XPoppycockX: haha I think you'd need a friend on this one but it is very pretty

Colette's Music Room: what is the bungee chord type of elastic band you were talking about?

Mari C: Nice!

optimisticgrl: omg, this looks like a lot of work. LOL

41734Cam: Nice but he really didn't 'show' you exactly how he did half of the curls really

Kayla Barss: it looked very pretty but i think it would have looked better if her bangs were a little longer but over all good job

V BL: ahhh so talenteddd

xxGabriellaxx100: His is nicer than Reece's

Bonnie Hanna: I kinda feel sorry for her when he keeps saying that she has very fine hair.

Dida079: very cute..he was so gentle..lol

Keisha Singleton: i like it but i want the sides and her edges to be neater..

Caitlin Murphy: her bangs are cute.

Doris A.: that sounds like a name someone just made up when they couldn't think of anything else to call the hairstyle. LOLz

CJ Poirier: Her bangs kinda remind of me of a blonde Audrey Hepburn

Angela: i like it''

Heidi Kravitz: that looked like it hurt!

pun na: what comb is that ???

Trang Dang: i can't really see what he is doing to form the 'flower'

Banu Senol: Gawjuss But Her Bangs Look Right Up Her Face(:

Jordyn: why are her bangs like an inch longer in the before picture then they are in the after picture ?

Young Golden Girl: backcombing your hair is the worst thing you can do to it. It makes the hair shaft peel up and completely destroys your hair!

littlemissjaded12345: 1 question : What are "bangs?" (e.g. I "banged" my leg when I fell over :p. sorry... bad joke :P)

Nour Homsy: urs is nicer than reece witherspoons !!

Meredith Hammett: not only the bangs. but i think he weighed her fine thin hair down by using TOO much product. I know you need it to build volume...but her hair looks greasy to me.

Ivy Balish: Full honesty, I don't really care for the look.

Daniela Ramirez: Her face looks awkward D: it's too shiny!

Amelianna Ross: how the fuck do you know where to place the hair.

mangagrl01: 3:12 damn! what a long neck!!

Leslie Ferguson: @gurlmineketty its CHIC hahaha just sayingg!

Kimberly Morales: Sopit

Jordyn: @Barcafanatic1 oh alright :P it didnt make any sense to me .. hahaha :P

Marilyn Desoy: that's so sheek

Sush: the model looks really miserable
