Hey, I actually recorded directions on how to achieve this style a while back when I first got started on YouTube, but a couple things have changed for the better, so I thought it would be a great idea to remake this tutorial. My mini twists, updo has been a go-to protective style for me throughout my entire journey. It helps me a lot with retaining length and keeping my hair detangled, while still looking presentable for best results, make sure to start with a neat mini twists. If you're curious on how I achieve my mini twists, pause this video and click on this link, that will take you to a detailed tutorial if your hair is less dense or thinner, it's best to do this style without many twists. If you've done them correctly, your mini twists should be well moisturized and easy to manipulate with your fingers smooth your hair in the direction you wanted to lay and decide on where you want your part start with any side. In this case, I'm starting with the right side and roll your ends up towards your scalp. You should have an idea of how you want the shape of your style to be. In my case, I prefer more mass in the front, and I like for my tuck ends to be tightly secured so to achieve that roll. Your ends up towards your scalp, a little before you start connecting new sections. This creates more mass in that area. Stop twisting once you've reached a corner of the back of your head, where your hairline ends use bobby pins to hold your roll in place while you'll work on the other side, here's a link to a great video on how to use bobby pins correctly. If your hair is shorter, it's best to add bobby pins as you go, so it doesn't loosen while you roll, if you properly secured both sides and ended them on both corners or the back of your head. It should look something like this if it doesn't or if you feel like it, looks too sloppy. This is the best time to redo. One of the rolls, if not you're, ready to combine both sides grab the ends of one side and start to twist it about two twists in start, combining it with the loose strands once you get somewhere in the middle, stop and secure it in place with a Pin do the same with the other side. Now that both sides are closer together, you can either secure it with the little hair, comb or flex barrette. Today, I've chose to use a flex barrette and put the ends in a little bun. The Flex, barrette and hair comb do a great job of holding a lot of your hair in place so remove as many bobby pins as you can. This will reduce your chances of forming any cuticle damage once my hair completely dries it pretty much freezes in place. I usually try to remove all bobby pins once my hair is completely dry before bed, remove all bobby pins and styling tools and wrap your hair in a satin scarf. Try not to disturb the shape of your style. So your morning, prep time is reduced. I usually keep these mini twists in for about a month, or so it's important to refresh them at least twice a month, though so here's a link to a tutorial on how to refresh your mini twists. It'S that simple. This style is great for those that want to grow out their hair and as your hair grows out, this style starts to look even better and better. It'S great for a professional, casual and upscale settings mini twists are great because you can alter them out every way you want without causing tangles all of the styling tools I used to achieve. My protective styles are in the accessory kit, which is now available on the green beauty. Products website, try it out for yourself and share your experience below or if you find ways to customize this style or change it up. I'M definitely interested in hearing thanks for watching

SAndrew S: I love this style! I've worn it for almost 4 yrs. It is very fitting for my corporate career and it has helped to to grow my hair out to MBL. Although, I wear it with swoop bangs and i place the bun to the side of my head. Thanks for sharing:)

Sandra Holmes: Love it! Just took my daughters and mine out of mini twist after 2 weeks. Next time I'll try to shoot for month like you and use some of these tips. Thanks!

Het Heru: YAY! loved your tutorial! Cannot wait for the next one!

Dudegrowing NapsBlog: The thickness of your hair is sooo beautiful to me. I'm a big fan of it. Hope i'll be able to achieve such thickness in the coming years. Thanks for sharing

Courtney James: I just finished watching every single one of your videos! I am so elated to have found you. India from MyNaturalSistas was so right. I love your videos, the clear info you share, and your consistency! Thank you so much for sharing with us on YouTube! I've also been eyeing your products. Can't wait to purchase and DIY them for my regimen. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!

LuLuABlessedSurvivor: New subscriber here! I subbed a few days ago and have been catching up on your videos! I have found lots of information and will certainly be looking forward to seeing more of your videos. Thanks for sharing all of this wonderful information! I have done a style similar to this one before, I may upload a slideshow of it in two variations. I will try this way as well soon! Many blessings and serenity. Stay authentically beautiful!

Dominique Maurice: Hey, can you do a video on your actual regimen? Your hair looks so gorgeous and healthy

back2s0ul: Mini twists are my go to for transitioning. Lately I've been wearing them in two flat twists pinned in the back but maybe I'll try just rolling the sides like this next time.

ChicaRizada94: Mini twists wreak havoc on my hair, but I'd definitely try this on a stretched flexirod set! Thanks for posting!

moniart07: Thank you so much for responding! I do use the real protein treatment and I love it! , I will have to try the herbal hot oil treatment next. Thanks again!

Spice Gyal Lili: Hi. i was moisturizing my hair this morning and when i took my hands away i saw all these little pieces of hair on my hands. So i was wondering, could you do a video on what is normal breakage? thanks girl

Chay Andrea: Just subbed :) cute style!

Kim Davidson: I attempted this style today as I've been wanting to do it for a while. My hair is not a long as yours and I am having difficulty using the hair accessories such as the hair comb and flex barrett. I will make it work.

Christina Watson: Love your channel. Very detailed information. Is there anyway you can do a video about thinning hair?

Mia Wright: Any more video coming soon? I watched all your videos and I'm excited for more!

PureAfricanness: Hi Green Beauty :) I've been struggling to find a good shampoo and conditioner I have 4c thick and very curly rough hair and quite sensitive to protein conditioners and shampoos. Do you have any recommendations?

neena1185: Your channel is the best...I literally study this channel. Can you please do a video on effective straightening the hair for a really good trim?

MsJDav46: Hi! Looking at this video reminded me of my fail at doing mini twists due my hair strands being moderate to on the finer side. Is there a way to make hair strands thicker or at least give that illusion? I've heard that castor oil is suppose to thicken hair. Is that true? LOL What I'm trying to ask is, well even though you have thick hair, could you do a video for moderate to finer strand naturals who want to have bigger, fuller hair and better hair care routines?

Vinnette Pope: Beautiful style. How I do this on my fine strand hair.

Natural Hairsafari: Am soo happy i found a vedio of your hair at a length i can relate with. Cannot wait to follow along

rochellegordon09: Is there a way to increase your hair density?

Jo Daviel: Ohhh here is the tutorial?!!!! Excellent!

Rajivay: Your videos are so scientific. Do you have a background in biology or something? Btw I love your vids!

sam brown: What do your recommend for color treated hair? I am having some shedding and dryness. Thanks

Evelyn C: How long can I keep mini twist in before they start to lock

L Scott: I had a lot of breakage from crochet braids. Would mini twists have the same effect on the hair from all the pulling and tightness? Right now I big chopped, went natural and tuck my hair away under half wigs. I'd like to try something different but scared of breakage. My hair has already grown to almost chin length in just a few months.

Capreace Walker: I agree mini twist isnt for everyone especially for my natural hair

la belle: I wish I could love this video an hundred times.

moniart07: Hi. I was wondering if the hardness of your water can effect your hair. I know that it can make your skin drier so what about your hair? Also is there a way to test the hardness of your water? Since I live in an apartment, can I buy a water softener? Thanks again!

Gr8P: I can't do it. I've tried but my hair mattes HORRIBLY if I leave it in twists for more than a week. Great vid, however.

moniart07: Hi! What are your suggestions to get more shine to your hair?

Shortcake39553: why did you start wearing your nails shorter? was it to prevent snags, to cut down on the toxic chemicals off wearing overlays, or some other reason?

Palo Brie: Love

Bilqis: Do you know how I can make my hair have movement?

ZenLifeTV: I do this style on stretched hair

christine richardson: Hello where do ou find your flex barrett

S D: I feel like this would have been a great oportunity to talk about taking care of edges. ..

Jamrockgerl: @GreenBeautyChannel Is your hair 4c ? It seems as if we have the same hair type . I am relaxed but I am pondering on going back natural
