Formal Curly Hair Updo Tutorial

Hey guys welcome back to my youtube channel if you're new here, i'm jalessa today, i'm going to be doing a very formal, curly hairstyle. Maybe you could do this hairstyle for, like a nice romantic date, night out, um something more fancy. You know what i mean. So let's get right into the video, so i am going to wet my hair because my hair is just not completely wet and when i curl my hair, i like to have completely wet hair. So i'm just going to wet my hair very quickly and in today's video i am going to focus more on the hairstyle and not too much like the styling part of it like adding the products and all that so i am gon na do this very quickly. I'M going to add a little bit of my olaplex number six, oh my god, i'm just like i'm almost all done um. I think i have another one because i love this product, so i'm gon na add just a little bit like about that. Much on all my hair, this is going to prevent my hair from getting frizzy, especially if it's like a very hot day like if you're going to a wedding - and it's just like you know very hot and humid definitely add this before starting the process of curling. Your hair, i love this product because it reduces frizz and it also helps with flyaways and it leaves my hair so soft, so yeah this one's a good one from olaplex. I love all of their products. I wish they had like curly hair products to style your curly hair gel and like leave-in curl cream. Something like that. You know what i mean. That would be awesome. I'M going to add olaplex number seven bonding oil just gon na add a pretty good amount. You can use this on wet hair, damp, hair, dry hair. I love it even after a blowout. It helps a lot with flyaways and i'm gon na use this after i dry my hair as well to reduce some more flyaways but yeah. I'M basically just adding that on my hair, it's going to protect my hair from the heat. I am going to use a diffuser just to dry, my hair very quickly. This is also super great for softness, like this leaves my hair super soft. Every time i use it and i love using it on dry hair, it works so great on dry hair, i'm going to divide my hair in two sections and i'm going to be using risot's curls today to curl my hair. I have tried a lot of curly hair products and raise those curls is just up there for me, like i love resource curls, i'm going to use their refresh detangle spray, i'm going to put a pretty good amount. I feel like, even when i do put heat on my hair and i use risot's curls products, my curls just come back to life and they just bounce a lot more than with other curly hair products. I love christmas curls. This fade is not sponsored at all. All the products that i am using are like my go-to products. I love these products now i'm going to use resource curls, curl, defining cream gon na add about that much on the bottom section and then i'm just gon na do the same with the top. Now i'm gon na use the denim brush to define my curls a little bit more, so i take the brush and from under i just brush it up like that, and then i just scrunch, i'm basically going to do that with all my hair. Make sure that you use the denman brush on all your hair, i feel like it really does help to reduce frizz as well and just kind of really have all the curls, like very separately defined. I feel like with the denman brush the curls separate, even more, and you can distribute the product a lot more like on all your hair as well, but yeah as you can see, the curls are already starting to come back to life. So i'm going to do the same with the top section, i'm going to just brush away flip the ends and then scrunch scrunching helps a lot. I also like to flip my hair and scrunch a little bit more. If you need a little bit more gel, you can add that as well all right guys. So now i'm going to diffuse my hair with my diffuser, i'm using the t3 fit diffuser, and i love this one. I'M going to definitely take it with me when i travel, because it's so small and it works super super. Well, i'm in such a weird position, but i'm gon na dry, my hair and i'll be back once everything is dry and let's move right into the hairstyle. Alright, so now that my hair is completely dry, i am going to add some of the olaplex number seven on my hair. I'M just gon na break up the curls a little bit and i'm gon na put a little bit of hair on my hair, because some of my curls just don't curl that much especially on this side like, for example, right here. It'S like not curling, for example, right there, i'm gon na go in with the little wands and fix that curl. If i'm just at the beach chilling. I don't really mind, but since this is more like an elegant hairstyle, i do have to touch up some of the curls so that everything looks very consistent. I'M just very carefully going to divide my hair and i'm going to put this up for now. I'M actually going to take this wand from kaposi and i have in the heat setting 360 degrees fahrenheit. So i just leave it there for a couple of seconds and then release it. And then you have a very nice looking curl very natural as well. I'M going to take this section now and i'm literally just gon na leave the hair on the wand for like three seconds one, two, three there you go. That'S all you need i'm gon na do that with most of my hair, because these ends are just not curling, but at least this is a lot better than putting more heat on your hair like blowing it out, straightening it and then using a wand or like A curling iron, at least i'm not using too much heat on my hair right now, so i'm just gon na quickly do that with some of these sections that need a little bit of help, especially on this side. I don't know what it is, but this side is like not curling that much and if your curls are very nice and defined, you don't have to do this. I'M just doing this because i feel more comfortable, doing this step and then doing the hairstyle so that the hairstyle could look a little bit better. Because if i don't do this, then it might look a little bit messy for like a formal hairstyle. So yeah just leave it for like two seconds and then release the curl. I don't even want to leave it on for too long, because i don't want the curls to be too tight, because this one's gives you a very tight curl. I'M gon na link it down below. If you guys want to check it out, it is very affordable too. I got it from amazon and it only cost me like 20 bucks, so here's one side with the curling wand. It looks a lot better and i'm gon na do this side. You see this side, isn't too bad, but i'm still just gon na touch up, maybe like the top section. I just want my curls to look defined and i just kind of want to try to do more hairstyles with my natural texture. Instead of having to strain it and then use a wand to do some waves almost done with this bottom section all right. So i basically just took out some of the curls in the front and i'm gon na touch them up, maybe with my wands in a little bit. So basically, just take a pretty big section like that and you're just gon na make a bun right here like in the crown of your head, so just grabbing my scrunchie. So you just do a bun, i'm actually gon na pin it with something like that. For now, i'm gon na actually fix the front pieces and i'm going to leave some out when i start doing the updo so yeah, i'm just retouching the front pieces just so that it looks super nice. So with my fingers just very lightly, i'm going to divide the curls in the front, i'm going to just kind of loosen up the top of the bun like this front section right here, because i want it to look very natural. I want to have some volume in the front and i'm just gon na take pieces of hair and i'm just gon na bring it to the bun and pin it so you're gon na need a lot of bobby pins for this and a lot of patience. So yeah just take a piece of hair, maybe about that much and just bring it to the bun and bobby pin it kind of like that. Just very loosely add it to the bun and it's supposed to look natural so grab another one and i'll leave some curls in the front out. Okay. So your hairstyle is supposed to look something like this. If you want to kind of fluff it up a little bit loosen up the sides, you can totally do that um take out maybe some curls from the side so that it could look even better like more natural. I think this is super sexy. I think it's very very nice. If you feel like there's too many pieces in the front, you can always just bring them back. This is what the hairstyle looks like i'm gon na try on a fancy dress for like a wedding, and let's see how that looks.
