Hello, everyone, my name, is charity and welcome to my youtube channel. If you are new here, i want to say hello to you, you don't already know i have a young baby girl. She actually has short hair um. I have been nourishing her hair and nurturing her hair and by god's grace it is growing, and i just want to share with you all some of the things that i have been doing. That really has been encouraging her hair to grow that i consider short natural hair as hair. That is above the shoulders a lot of the times. Of course, the goal is to grow the hair and, to you know, get it to be long. A lot of people desire longer, hair and desiring long hair is not a bad thing. It'S a great thing also just want to just put in here that short hair should also be embraced. Okay, so that season of having short hair, it is a season and is a season of your hair. That needs to be embraced and it needs to be nourished and you're growing. Something, and you just see a little bit of you, know, plant coming out. That'S an exciting season. You know it's like oh wow like something is actually coming out of this. You know and you get excited about that season. Of course, the goal is to see more growth, but that season, where you see that little growth is so exciting, and so when your hair is short, be excited about that length of your hair. The future is that your hair will actually grow longer. As long as you keep nourishing the hair, and as long as you keep feeding the hair, what it actually needs for those of you that want to grow longer, hair, what i would say is number one you need to be able to. You need to moisturize the hair. You also need to be able to prevent breakage moisturizing. Your hair is very, very important. How do you do that number one? You have to hydrate the hair, so that means that you are applying water or you're, applying a leave-in conditioner and that helps to hydrate the hair. It is very important to not just leave the hair hydrated you have to seal in that moisture. So that means that you're applying an oil on top of that you're, applying a hair cream or hair butter to seal that moisture into your hair combination and this method of moisturizing. Your hair of layering. Your product will help your hair to be moisturized. But for some of you, you may have to moisturize your hair every single day for some you may have to moisturize every other day for some of you, you may have to moisturize every three days. It all depends on your own assessment of your hair. Feel your hair, does your hair feel dry and if it does, you need to moisturize your hair. One of the things that you can learn at this stage is your curl pattern right, because once again, your hair is growing, and so you can get to know your curl pattern and get to see how your hair grows. You can also, at this stage, get to see how your hair reacts to different products. How does your hair react when you put oil in it? How does your hair react when you put butter in it? So this is a stage of learning. It is a stage of developing a relationship with your hair and it takes time it takes intentionality and it takes patience, incredible patience as well. Another point to keep in mind is to prevent breakage. So when your hair is very short, you cannot tuck your ends away. I talk about doing protective styles, where you can tuck your ends away when your hair is very very short, you can't really do that, but one of the things that you can do is that you can actually prevent breakage. So how do you do that, when you're going to sleep at night make sure that you are wearing a satin bonnet or a satin scarf? Do not sleep on cotton uh bedding because, as you sleep and you're moving around all that friction is going to end up breaking your hair, so make sure you're sleeping either on a satin, pillowcase or you're using a satin bonnet, a satin scarf. These will help to prevent breakage because, again we're trying to grow the hair, make sure that you are contributing to the growth and to the length retention of your hair by using satin headgear. I remember when my baby was much much younger. I lined her bassinet with a satin scarf, and i realized that that really helped. As of at this point, she never actually experienced any bald patches in her hair. Another important aspect of preventing breakage of your short natural hair is to try as much as possible to avoid combing your hair when it is dry before you put a comb or brush to your hair, always make sure that you have conditioner in it. Maybe, while you're washing it or after you have really moisturized your hair by using the three-step method of water, leave-in, conditioner, oil and butter or cream, this will really help you to retain more length and not break your hair unnecessarily. Another point is to be really careful about the kinds of accessories that you're, using especially headbands, make sure that your headbands are not overly tight when you put it on, it can actually cause headaches, which is just not necessary at all. Also make sure that you stick with satin designed headbands. I actually made a video where i shared some of the ones i use and actually the red one i'm i am wearing in the video is a satin headband. I will leave the video link in the description box and also avoid rubber bands. Rubber bands only will rip the hair and it will cause unnecessary breakage. I actually filmed a video where i talked about what i use for my daughter's hair. Alternatively, so make sure that you're not styling your hair, too tight, if you choose to do any kind of styles, make sure that especially you're paying very close attention to your hairline and also to your nape. Those are very, very sensitive areas that can be affected by tight hairstyles and often it can actually lead to permanent damage, and so be very. Very another way to prevent breakage is to strengthen your hair and the way that you do. That is to deep condition. Your hair, so you can do this every time that you wash your hair, just deep condition your hair and really just set yourself up for success in the future. Establish a deep conditioning routine and your hair will be more infused with moisture it'll, be softer. It'Ll, be fuller and it'll be stronger and you will be able to retain more length and so definitely apply all of these tips and your hair will be on its way to flourishing. Another thing that is very important is scalp massages as young as she was at that very baby stage. I would massage her scalp and sometimes maybe i'm trying to put her to sleep, and i have her on my shoulder and i would be massaging her scalp and she loved it. Not only was that encouraging and promoting healthy hair growth, but it was actually also soothing for her. It helped her to actually fall asleep, and even now i do it now, whenever i'm doing her hair i'll take time and i'll massage her scalp and she loves it, it feels good and it is also encouraging healthy hair growth. So if you have shorter hair, one of the things you can do for yourself is to do scalp massages after you have moisturized it go ahead and massage your scalp, and that will help to encourage healthy hair growth. Another point is to take your physical health seriously. Make sure that you are feeding yourself with healthy food fruits, vegetables grains, make sure that you're eating well you're eating healthy, make sure you're drinking water. Keeping yourself hydrated, feeding yourself from the inside out hydrating yourself from the inside out, will also help to encourage healthy hair growth when it comes down to whether or not to use attachment. I personally don't encourage the use of attachment, because i truly believe that we can grow our hair. You can grow short natural hair without using attachments. Like i said by the grace of god, my daughter, i have not used any form of attachment on her hair and by god's grace, her hair is growing, as i am applying. All of these things to her hair care, her hair is growing and her hair is flourishing. If you're doing all of these things, you will retain more length. Your hair will get longer as far as hairstyles for your short natural hair. I would implore you to make good use of youtube youtube. There are plenty of videos whereby women who have shorter hair are styling their hair without artificial hair, and so i would say, definitely go ahead and just type into youtube. You know hairstyles for shortening out your hair, and you would be amazed, encourage you to keep things simple. You know, keep it very simple at this short stage, the most important thing is that you are nourishing your hair. You are preventing breakage. This is crucial and your hair will get to the long length that you want. I just want to once again remind you that your hair is beautiful. Your hair is a beautiful natural accessory that god has given on to you embrace your hair, especially at that shorter stage, embrace your hair love on your hair. Give it time nourish that hair and i tell you that it will grow and it will flourish to the glory of god all right. Thank you so much for watching, and i will talk to you in the next video bye bye for now.
