( bright music ), This bun is bananas. B-A, okay, sorry.! I have discovered the Banana Bun.. This thing blew up on Instagram and Pinterest, and I love it because you can use it on damp hair. You can use it on like second day hair. You can use it for a formal event., It's quick, it's easy and it gives you all kinds of like Kristin Ess-style, hair perfection.. So I think you guys are gon na love. This., I'm gon na talk you through it, how to break it down and then how to dress it. Up. Hope you guys enjoy it., Let's get into it., Let's start with how to wear it casually. Now my hair is obviously like done right now.. This will work on damp hair, but if you're doing damp hair - and you have any kind of wave in your hair, I recommend using some wave spray.. This is the Ouai Wave Spray., I'm just gon na spritz, a little. ( bottle spraying ). This is just to kind of like make disheveled hair, look like it's on purpose., Oh and it smells so good.. And now we move on to the technique., So you're, going to gather all of your hair together at the middle of your head, like you're, making a middle pony tail. Then twist it a couple times to the left. From here. You have this nice twist going on, but I want it a little looser., So I'm just going to pull a little bit. ( bright music ). Now I'm going to pin in place using jumbo bobby pins. ( bright, music ). I recommend the jumbo bobby pins because they can hold so much more hair and we're not using a hair band to hold all this up.. So I think it's a lot better. If you use these guys., You can find them at any drugstore or Target or anything like that.. So now we've got this twist going on., Take a second to look in the mirror and make sure you like how it looks from the front before we put any more pins in., And now we make the bun. For the bun. You can just twist super loosely and again wrap super loosely., I'm kind of making a little doughnut shape against my head, like so., I'm gon na pin that in place. (, bright, music ) And there you go.. If you have ends, you can either leave them down or you can kind of take them around and pin them as well.. I like ends so .... That is the finished casual version.. I think this is all kinds of sweater weather awesomeness, but it's also really gon na look great. If your hair is still a little damp., It will make it look purposeful and chic.. Now I'm looking a little more fancy cause. I'M gon na show you guys how to dress it up if you want to take the same technique and take it for a like a night out.. So first things: first volume., I'm just gon na tease around the top of my head for some extra va-voom. ( bright music ). Once it looks nice and crazy, you can just smooth it: down. (, bright music ), A little extra lift is gon na help. Start by pulling your hair up into a high ponytail.. Then we're going to twist to the left a couple times so that we have our nice little twist. Again, I'm gon na loosen it up. Use some jumbo bobby pins to hold it in place. (, bright, music ). If, if feels wobbly at all, just keep criss-crossing your bobby pins inside the twist until it feels nice and secure.. Now we make the bun. I'm gon na make kind of like a row of doughnuts right here with the bun so that it can create that kinda. Faux French twist effect. ( bright music ). Now, obviously we have these ends.. I'M gon na try one more doughnut with these.. Hopefully that will get ... Yep there. We go. You have your nice little doughnut and the ends are nicely hidden., Mostly., (, bright, music ). If you feel this being a little crazy - and it's not quite long enough to make it to the other side, you can take the ends and just tuck them inside., Pin it all the way. ( bright, music ) There you go. This is the more formal version of the Banana Bun.. I like that it looks kinda like a French twist without being the work of a French twist.. I like that, you can wear it more polished or you could texturize it and make it kinda. Like Serena van der Woodsen.. I just think there's a lotta things you could do with it. ( bright music ). That is the Banana Bun.. I hope you guys enjoy it and try it out., It's so much fun and it's such a great, like okay, I have to run outta the house and I want to look like I care about my life hairstyle. Cause. It looks like you put in effort, but it took you like two seconds.. I hope you guys try. It out. Hope you love it., Be sure to hit that subscribe button. So you never miss a hair tutorial or tips or tricks or any of that from me.. Don'T forget to come back very soon for my next video. I'll, see you then. Mwah., Bye, (, bright, music, )

Isabella Corelich: For those with hair on the shorter side, a good way to do this hair style is doing the first twist as if you were doing a half-updo and then incorporate the rest of your hair (along with the end of the ponytail) on the doughnut.

inna240593: This looks dreamy! Doesn't look much difficult to achieve either! Definitely gonna give it a go! Fingers crossed, mine is gonna look as good as yours!

nirtakoma: Very beautiful!! I will definitely try this one... I would love to see a video about how to use different accessories like french combs, barrettes or sticks. Could you do that? That would be awesome... :)

Darcy Reads Sometimes: Hi Kayley! I love all of your videos. I have two different video requests though. :) One - my hair is very fine and has thinned out significantly near my face. I know you did a ponytail trick to help prevent that earlier, but do you have any other suggestions? Cute ways of getting my hair out of my face that won't break those little hairs in front of my ears? Two - I would be curious to see what your hair looks like after you've worn a hairstyle all day. So like, tutorial and check ins, similar to the format of a "first impressions" type video, but with styles. Eh? :)

Jillian Grammer: Kayley, I think I just need you to be my personal hairstylist! ♥️♥️

michelle: Omg yes! Thank you for this video. I’ve been dying to know how to do this ever since Rachel on Friends.

Lynzee Al-Hakeem: Very cute!! The formal banana bun is giving me Rachel Green vibes.

Sydney 5752: Thank you SO MUCH! I always understand when I watch ur videos. My hair is SO frizzy so I always have it in a bun or braid

Hannah Giles: Omg will you do a tutorial on the makeup you're wearing in this video? It's so pretty and cute for Valentine's Day!

Erika Moulton: Can't wait to try it out!! xx

Charlotte Adams Brooks: Have you tried using spin pins/spiral pins as a replacement for a lot of bobby pins? I use them almost everyday for my long wavy hair! They keep a great hold with very little effort needed.

Katherine Ann: As soon as she says "pin it in place..." Me: NOPE. Can't do it. I seriously SUCK at using bobby pins. I don't know if my hair is just took thick for them or what, but I honestly cannot figure it out for the life of me. And I'm 26 years old...

Kayla Cook: Love it! Also love your makeup!

Missy Wolf: Also, LOVE the top you have on for the dressier version

ava madison johnson: Can you make more videos for people with very thick, poofy, layered hair? My hair is hard to manage and sometimes don’t even look good in ponytails. This banana bun is cute but my hair just isn’t working for it.

Chelsey Jenkins: Can't Wait To Try It On My Hair!!!

Rosana B.: Love all your hairstyles!!!

Chloe Wrigley: Hey Kayley, I love this hairstyle does it work with just normal bobby pins? I haven’t managed to find a shop in my town that has jumbo/roller pins available. Also I have really fine hair that doesn’t need much to hold it in place.

Hi Bye: This bun is so pretty! Could you do a Nancy Wheeler hair tutorial from Stranger Things season 2?

Nicole Lester: So cute! Love your lipstick and that burgundy top!

Dhanashri Ingle: Kayley please do a hair bun for really long (waist long) hair. Please! Need it for work.

Doctor Anne: I am so trying this for work tomorrow!

Pia Bond: Hi I’m 15 years old and I love ur hair styles and videos. I was wondering if u could make a hair style that is easy, cute, an out of the face look and something that won’t fall out during my busy school day. it’s been a problem for me for a while to find a new look for school that works. ❤️

Michelle V: I love the banana bun! Also, what colors are you using for eye shadow? Could you do a video on the makeup your wearing? I love that look, but whenever I try to use brown shadows, it looks muddy on me. What am I doing wrong?

Rachel Hope: Kayley your make up looks really good!

Bry McKinley: Could you do a Head Of Leda inspired look? It is so beautiful and intricate.

anaturalredhead: I've done this for years but never knew the style had a name. Thought I just made it up myself. Lol

Lacy Rasmussen: Love the video!!❤❤❤

Jade W: So cute!

Mireya: Ok I don’t wear buns but I want to try this ASAP

chelsey makes: Of course I spend 20 minutes following a Missy Sue tutorial before work... And then you upload this one lol

Yanira Flores: Love it

Samantha Peterman: Can there please be more hair styles for extreamly curly hair? Please.

N N: Loved this one Can you please do a chopstick hairstyles

Mandy L: I recently bought texturizing spray, but I've been too nervous to use it because I don't know what I'm doing! Do you have a video you can think of off the top of your head where it shows you using texturizing spray?

Lt M: This is a really complicated way to do a banana bun! As a ballet dancer, I often do them for shows and I feel like this way wouldn’t hold long at all... Love your videos though Kayley

Sarah Smith 8220: What is the difference between this and a French twist? Is it just the bun at the bottom? And can you use a hair comb like you can with a french twist?

Niphie: Beautiful hair styles! I wonder if you could maybe make a video about a real French twist? (I didn't even know until now that it is called "French twist". )

SavedSinner 03: Your lipstick is soooooo cute, but I think that since you are so great with makeup, you should try Lipsense products! They're amazing!!

Ashley deCesare: Would you mind doing a video on dying your hair? Best products to use, what to do and what not to do?

Kara S: Hey Kayley! I know I’m late and I don’t know if you’ll see this, but can you French braid? I know most people know this but I don’t. I’m new to braiding I haven’t done stuff to my hair until now. You’ve inspired me to start doing styles to my hair! Too bad I cut it...

Tia Kiely: Hi Kayley. Just wondering if you could do a tutorial on jess on the cbb final nights hair. I absolutely love it but don’t have a clue how to do it. Love all your tutorials

Jenna Walker: Please do a video on how to french braid curly hair and how to help with frizz.

shun le: Cool video, I have a suggestion. Can you do hairstyles for black colored hair, like hair that's black and can be straight?

Leah Allen: Looks like a French twist, so pretty

I Can Fly: How do I do this with hair past my waist? Is there a way?? It's so cute

Pandore Malone: I love it it's beautiful but it impossible for me to do that.. i dont know how to do anything you do on your videos.. not good at it and don't have the patience lol. All your "easy" tutorial are getting me crazy as it's so hard... but I love you so much and your videos are so great to watch!!! ❤️mouah!

SARA: I really love your clothing

Jacquelyn Koenig: Tell me why I thought this bun was to be done using some type of like a clip/roller type thing to create the bun for you lmao I was so confused during the whole first look when you used bobby pins & it was really the style that is called banana bun still super cute, I have to give it a try!

Angelica Genove: Where do you pin after the twist? I can't get mine to stay up for some reason

Kiruthiga Mathiyalagan: when your hair is past your ass so you can't do this style without 500 bobby pins

snsmystic: Where did you get the burgundy top? I am in love with the bow on your wrist!

Andreea K: OMG that top is gorgeous! Where can I find it? Or anything similar?

IrishRose.: HAIR QUEEN.

Leigh Linden: I love how all of these videos are like “and just pin it in place!” That doesn’t magically happen with heavy hair. Not at all.

Camila González Contreras: I could watch the intro on repeat... Challenge accepted!

Sonika Saraiya: can u figure out a way to do this effect with a hair tie and post a tut on it? that would help me so much :)

MadE: Hey Kayley, do you have any tips/tricks for hair loss? My hair has been steadily thinning for the last months to a year, despite it not being damaged and me not using heat on it. My diet also doesn't seem to be the problem. I used to love re-creating your hair styles but I can't really anymore...

Rachel: You should do a video of hairstyles inspired by the crown

Anastasia: I love it when you mention Serena Van Der Woodsen

Me: The messy do has been around for a while... Would you consider doing some sleek & more put together hairdos? Thank you, Kayley Melissa!

Amelia Black: Can you do this or at least show an example of it on short hair? Kaelee Melissa styles are my favorite, but i have a ton of fine hair & it's short right now.

Major Robinson: B-A-N-A-N-A-S. I know this isn't a recent vid, but I still love it!

Joy Walsh: Kayley, how can i train my hair to habe a part like yours? Mine is dead centre and i have a flick and cowlick at either side?

Autumn Wilson: Girl I already did my hair but thanks anyway lol❤

hiimcourtney: love this!!! where is your sweater from?!

High0nPocky: Where is your sweater from? It’s so cute especially with the causal banana bun!!
