Now, let's not forget about curly hair when we texturize curly hair, it has a lot of properties of its own that we need to be aware of a lot of techniques. We can't do because the last thing I want to do is frizz, naturally, curly hair, so think about the integrity of the hair. Here'S a great one for curly hair, most people with natural curly hair - don't want their hair cut short on top. They like to keep this length long because it adds weight yeah. At the same time, they like a little sense of softness up on the top. This is a technique called weave and blunt once again, let's start in the crown area where she possibly might want some lift in the crown area. We simply take a section taking this section. All I'm going to do is take my guiding blade. Remember the thumb blade is on the top and the guiding blade is on the underneath. I come through you control how much you want to take out. So if I want to take a small amount and it's fine hair, that's naturally curly do a very fine type of weave. If I have thick naturally curly hair, let's do a big nice chunky type of weave when you're here this takes courage. Remember where your shear is it's, where the length is going to be so now simply close, because it's blunt texture that will spring back and add support to what is left long great technique when you want to go in and get some lift at the base. Remember now you control how much you take out. Let'S see it one more time here, comb through now, I placed one there look at the length I have so let's say I even want to come out further on the length so we're here we've. Let'S do a little fine weave here and close and comb through and, as I said, natural curl has a lot of properties on its own, be aware of the fabric you're using and the type of texture technique, you're going to do to complement the fabric great technique. To maintain lift create a short degree of softness inside to support the link that you have. We even blonde try it you're going to like

InABind: This is excellent! I’m not a stylist at all, just a mom who cuts her son’s hair at home. Now that he’s decided to grow out his curly hair (instead of cutting it short) I was at a loss. Now I know what to do. Thanks so much

virginia shubert: That's an interesting concept. I've tried all techniques on my natural (medium/loose) curly hair and think I'm gonna give this a try. Let's see how it goes!

Bennet Parke: Great technique Sam. I used it today on a naturally curly client and she loved it. It created soft lift but left the top long like you described, no frizz. Thanks, I'll be using this in my cutting.

Yellow Malice: I wish I could find a barber or stylist like this who worked somewhere around me, and was this thorough and cautious with curly hair. Quite a few stylists out there are a little too complacent with methods suited to straight, loose hair.

vo id: This worked pretty well on my 4b hair. His twist bang cutting video worked too. Gave me layers and lift. Did myself. Started with cutting a little to see how it turned out. Then cut more as i got confident.

Cecily Crewe: Making techniques as always. Master of hair that’s who you are

laura casey: im glad i found sam! i love watching his techniques i wil be trying this stuff in the salon!! love learning new stuff!

Janine Dear-Barlow: My husband has loose curls on top and straight on the back and side. Because he was on a milk free diet, because of his mum, his hair is thin in density.

Seeker Of Truth: Subbed! I couldn’t get any hair stylists to give me volume in my flat area so I have to do it myself. I would come to you if you were in my area.

Terry Nicholson: You dont have to do that in layers when the top is pinned up?

Cristopher Belloso: I don't understand. I did this in the back of my hair, around the nape area because I had a lot of weight there and this method reduced it 100%

debra becker: love it have done it! works and by the way i can do deva cut

Pilar Delapena: I hope u can make a more thorough video to add volume and variation of legth on curly hair

Ally: I know short hair pushes long hair, so I get how that would create a bit more volume, but that is one ballsy move! Wouldn't it create shorter random pieces that would drive them crazy? All my clients with curly hair and probably the pickiest, understandably. Love your videos, but this one terrifies me! lol

Jonathan Pynn: Do we get a similar result if we use a thinning shears?Thank you

Cecily Crewe: You are a genius

DECL: Love ya Sam but oh God no can't agree on this one. (stylist of 40 years).I have very curly hair and I belive just some over directed layering would help and still give the option for a straight look if the client wanted to flat iron.

Nughair Khan: im speechless..GOD Bless u

Annette Lavigne: How is this different than the thinning scissors? My roots are the thickest part of my hair. How do the roots get thinned out?

Clarisssaaa: lol. people this is SAM VILLA, trust me he knows what he's talking about! lol

SurfinKris85: no way!!! I have naturally curly hair I like my hair long for a reason I notice the longer it is the better it is without being a poofball walking out your front door I have waves now instead of that proof ball effect that people call hair that I hated so much in high school lol and cutting it certain ways scares me I run away if someone did that to me!

Sofaking Cptv8ing: amen! I'm near kc and we got a slim margin of decent stylists. I found one and he moved.

Anna Al-Dean: what if the hair is long? and does thinning or texturizing curly hair cause frizz because I hear that it does on some people? and thats a little scary to just cut and does it remove bulk on curly hair? and what parts of the hair would you use that technique on like the sides or top?

julia ORTEGA: Maestro sam.villa hair.soy de mexico me hria el fabor de pro.porsionar' los videos.en español.me interesan mucho.gracias

Liz Torres: they need to take teachers like this to supercuts... make that all affordable salons

Springzy: this is NOT a good idea for curlies!!! as he pulls and combs he stretches out the curls and then cuts!? the amount of shrinkage needs to be taken into account and this cutting style clearly does not account for it. Def would not try this myself, would end up looking like a poodle.

musicdfined: Those would be some crazy looking curls...

Nora Samon: It's only to show the technique! xDD

Sanela Selmanovic: what hapens when she wants straight hairstayle, how does it look then whit that cut??tnx

Danielle H: This scares me. LOL

matriarca: Este si no tiene idea de cortar cabello

Ask Mamma: GASP!

Slime Sword: PLEASE!!! If you are a curly girl (or boy) watching this DO NOT let anyone do this to your hair!!! This guy hasn't got a clue what he's doing with curly hair. Anyone with curly hair knows that if you cut 1 inch off it looks like you've cut 3 inches off. PLEASE....if anyone says they want to "texturize" your hair RUN...don't walk out! Texturizing curly hair is a HUGE MISTAKE...trust me please!!!!!

Nora: Scary and stupid
