I’m sharing with you a little about my hairstyle and cut. This isn’t really a how to video but, more of a guideline of the structure of my cut. Technically speaking I do have a devacut. Not everyone has access to curl specialists in their area so here are some things you can ask your hairdresser to do for you. Also, I share how I ask clients to prepare for their curly cut. These tips can be extended to simply getting a dry cut if a specialist is not available to you.

Hope you enjoy and these tips can help!

Welcome back to my channel today, I'm going to be showing you a little bit about my haircut, so this has been asked quite a lot. How is my haircut, what type of haircut I have how to prepare for a curly hair cut and also things that you can ask your hairdresser to do for you? So first off we'll talk a little bit about my hair. Now this is based off of how I get my haircut and how I also usually cut curly hair. So the first thing that I would ask your hairdresser to do is to cut your hair dry. This is my preference. This is how I feel like my hair works best. There are plenty of other techniques out there, and some people have really good results with getting a wet haircut, and that is fine. It is really kind of about finding what works best for you and your curl type or your curl pattern, and how you like it to lay the best based off of this. I would see if your hairdresser can give you a dry haircut now. The length of my hair right now sits more around my collarbone area. It used to sit right above my shoulder, so it has grown out all in 2019. I kind of maintained my length getting regular trims and getting regular dry cuts. Now that I have gotten rid of most of my blonde ends, I have been working on just rowing it out previously, when you stretched my hair down straight. It reached right up my collarbone and then it would shrink up to sit right above my shoulders. Now my hair reaches past my collarbone and sits right at my collarbone when it is dry next we'll get into layering. My hair does have quite a lot of layers and the basic thing you can ask your hairdresser for our round layers. Most hairdressers know what round layering is so it's not usually needed for an explanation, but basically when it comes to round layers, the layers radiate from the head and they follow the head shape. So they kind of give a more rounded structure, I'll kind of include examples, and things like that, so you guys can have a reference or maybe something that you can show you to your hairdresser. Now when it comes to my shortest layer, it's it's right about here. Now, when you pull this straight down and pull it taut, it reaches the top of my ear. So that is another thing you can kind of talk to your hairdresser about you can let them know where you want your shortest layer to be, and that bit can be somewhat of a guide for them. I'Ve always take into account if your hair texture is tighter than mine or looser than mine. If it is tighter than mine, you have to kind of take into account more shrinkage, and then that way you will have no surprises later. On the last thing to ask your hairdresser, for when it comes to my type of haircut, I do have a lot of face framing and fringe. Now previously, I let my friends be kind of a little longer and it used to sit kind of maybe around my cheekbone area, and so when I would pull that straight down, it would reach more around to my. It would reach more around my lip area. So right now it's sitting at my nose because I did kind of a full fringe, full bang. I wanted to get rid of some damage that was still left on my bang area, so I went ahead and got more of like a shag type of haircut kind of more some face framing and some fringe. Now I am going to be growing this out because I do enjoy wearing my hair to the side. So, as you can see, I have it parted more twice the side now and I am working on growing that out as well, but I also have kind of a lot of pieces that frame around my face now that I have talked about my haircut and how It is cut I'm going to talk a little bit on how to prep for a curly hair cut. You know this is everything that I usually recommend for my clients to do before ly, coming to the salon and receive a curly cut. The first thing I asked for them to do is have clean, detangled hair. Now this means that you either wash it the night before or the day of no three four five day hair where it's dirty and it's tingly and you know, you've been sleeping on it and refreshing it and clean tangle-free hair is best now curly hair is always Prone to tangles, no matter what so, what I mean by that is make sure you detangle in the shower detangle, when it's wet to use the wide tooth comb use your fingers, put your conditioner in and then go ahead and style. That also brings us to the next one. When it comes to styling your hair, I always recommend product free, zero product. That way, I can really see how the hair really feels and there's nothing to mask it or make it feel softer or make it feel shinier than it. What it actually is when the hair is product free, I can really see how certain areas of the hair feel and certain areas of the head feel how loose or tight something might be without product to enhance things. I do say that it's okay to have a little bit of leave-in or a cream product. It'S really more of like gels that I kind of tell people to refrain from using things like creams and leavings are just lightweight enough, that it doesn't usually make a huge difference where gels can make the hair a little harder to section through. When doing the last thing to do to prepare for curly hair cut is making sure your hair is down. That means in its natural state, you've air, dried diffused. I don't care about that, but no clips bobby pins ponytail holders hair ties barrettes whatever it may be, that can kind of stretch out the curl pattern and it can provide room for error when it comes to cutting curly hair. So that way, there is nothing to interfere with that. I can see how the hair just naturally wants to lay and how tight or loose something will be usually hair accessories like that, can really distort the curl pattern or shape now. I know most salons are currently closed. At least I know in the US, but hopefully these tips and tricks can get you a little excited for when things kind of go back to normal and you can look forward to getting a trim or a haircut or trying a new style out. Maureen Levy: Love love love this!! Sending to my curly hair stylist before next cut!! Thank you so much. Stay healthy!!

Karen Hadley: I accidentally got my hair cut like this, and I have gone to 4 people trying to repeat my beautiful results. I am grateful for your video and diagram. Hopefully I can get a repeat result.

Sarah H: Thanks for another great video! I know you said you're growing your hair out again, but I just have to say that shorter hair looks amazing on you!!

Gail Manning: Thank you, this has been so helpful. I have always cut my own hair *gasp* and it looks good, but I want to change it up a bit. Your style is perfect on you and my hair is the same length, so I’m going to try some of your suggestions. My curls are 3a-3b and I’d like to soften them out more like yours...if that is even possible

April C.: You’re haircut is beautiful. I didn’t like the Devacurl dry cuts and found that my layers looked uneven. I prefer a wet haircut. Unfortunately I can’t get a haircut with this pandemic going on. Looks like I’m going to have crazy hair for a while. These tips are great though. I’m hoping everything will get better soon.

Monica Lowrance: Thank you for showing the round layer cut example. Loving your tips!!!

Nancy: Slowly getting to want a haircut like yours for my 2b, fine, medium thickness hair. I would love to see how you trim your own hair at home. I love hair that has a finish like yours with voluminous satiny curls. I really don't like the long, stringy, sadly clumped 2b hair that most people seem to have. I have come to understand and accept that wavy hair really shines when it is shorter.

Delora D: Just love you and your hair Krissy! Great tips, I’m also a deva certified stylist (no longer using deva btc) would love to know what products you are now using on your hair and btc!

micaro84: I have very fine, low density hair, and I have asked for layers a couple of years ago, but my hairdresser said that won’t work with my hair because it’s to thin :( I’ve got an appointment in a couple of weeks, and I can’t wait to get rid of a couple of cm, my ends are dead

Anja Zetsche: Thanks for the great video! Love all this tips! It's hard to find a good curly hair dresser in Singapore. I went once and she cut it wet. I hated it. So next time I will show her your video I love your hair this length! I also try to grow it out. But I'm so impatient

Nikki Gleghorn: This was really helpful! Thank you I never know how to describe what I want.

Osnat Gerzon: Hi! Wow, you're great! This video was so interesting!! I enjoyed very much watching! I must tell you that your hair looks sooo good now! Beautiful! A good length, the bangs looks very good, it seems that your hair is in a very good time/situation right now, is it really? And the tips you gave are great and, again- very interesting! I, myself, need a haircut (to refresh my haircut) pretty much, but the salon is closed because of the Corrona, of course, so I'm waiting, and I'm sure that when it's open again- it'll be very much fun Thank you!! ❤

Julianne Meisen: I really appreciate you sharing this info!

Humi: The full fringe suits u soooo much! I have a full fringe and it tries to curl but it looks weird Cus it looks like I’ve slept weird Cus it goes more to one side and flicks so I end up using a blow dryer and round brush to tame it I should probably stop Cus my hair is bleached as it is and struggling to curl up as much as it should b

Rebecca Brock: I use just enough leave in and curl cream to keep frizz down in case I am going other places before the salon.

Niki Asche: Too funny you made this video, I just layered the crap out of my hair yesterday. Mine is very close to yours in curl pattern. I will have to schedule in with you as soon as this quarantine is over. I am only an hour and half from DM.

mama i tata: Fantastic dear thanks for detailed explanations

AMO EL SPANISH: Hi, I love your curls and color. What formula do you use?

E K: Do dry cuts work if you have wavy curly hair that flattens a lot after day one ? I don’t always put the effort in to get hold that lasts, I can enjoy very lose waves. But if I dry cut won’t it look shaggy when it flattens ?

Ashley Rowlett: I’m afraid to go with no products in. I find that if I style it normally before I go the stylist can see its full potential. If I don’t they never get it right. Maybe I just haven’t found a good stylist.

Christy Smith: This was my question. Thank you My hood very similar to your . I hope my stylist doesn’t mind the request...

Indigo Awakener: Thank you so much

Beka: Hi! I have a question! Can you make ponytail with yout cut?? Thank you so much and greetings from Spain!

T M H: If I could have one wave pattern it would be yours!

Jessica Sopolis: I'm here for this!

Mike DeCanter Hair & Beauty: love this x

xXCloud_CoreXx: If I asked a non curly hair stylist to do this to my hair would it still turn out good?

Paula Sussman: At 3:17 on upper left pic on video you have GIANT fat curls (fringe.) I know the pieces of hair came down further, but how exactly did you get them to curl like that? THANKS!

Zoia Black: Wow, I dont know where to find that hairdresser. They also seem to be afraid do things, and I am afraid even more...

megan kent: Thanks!

glenda Caldwell: Curious. Where is your shop?

SHEILA TORRES By Sheila Torres: Cute ✨✨✨✨✨✨❤️❤️❤️✨✨✨✨

Tully Soulliere: Not sure what state you live in but our state board says go according to your Govenors guidelines ...no services right now in California! ...I sooo miss my client family)O:

Caroline Volasinavicius: how many layers you have?

Svetlana B: My hair is very curly, very fine, layers do not work at all. One length looks much better.
