Today, we're going to be talking about how to build your hair care routine to optimize, hair growth and hair health. So if that seems interesting to you, consider watching all the way till the end, and if you don't know me, my name is angelica. I post videos twice a week on most weeks, all about growing, long, healthy hair and a little bit of fun here and there. So if that seems interesting, consider subscribing the subscription button is right down there, as well as the bell icon, make sure you hit the bell, so you get notifications every single time i post, let's get into it. Okay, the first thing you can do for building your hair regimen is to look at your schedule and pick a time following someone else's routine. Someone else's schedule is not going to help you because their day is different than yours. You might have an office job. You might work at home, there's so many variables that can go into it, so looking at someone's wash day and be like okay, that person has really long healthy hair and they wash their hair every thursday. I'M going to do that as well or they wash their hair during the week. Don'T do that? Look at your schedule see when you think you have the most free time to do. However long it takes to do your hair and then pick that day and focus it around that time and whatever else don't live for your hair. Okay, don't change your whole schedule around just to fit your hair growth goals. Make sure that it just fits into your already existing schedule. Tip two is for your shampoo stage. Now this is the first most important stage. Okay, shampoo. I will not put doing a pre-poo or like pre-detangling your hair, before your shower as part of a main routine, because that's quite an extra step, and if your routine is too long, then you might not want to do it. Okay, so we're going to try and make it as easy as possible, we're going straight to the shower straight to wash your hair okay, so i suggest you decide what kind of shampoo you're going to be doing if you're going to be washing your hair once a Week every single week - and you decide to do maybe something like wash and go something that's product heavy, just pick one shampoo, okay and it can be a sulfate shampoo, just pick something that's hydrating and moisturizing to your hair, like the olaplex one or the amica one Or cream of nature, something like that that has a sulfate in it, but it doesn't make your hair dry just to make sure you don't have buildups and you don't have to start thinking like okay. Maybe this week i should use a clarifying shampoo. Just pick the one shampoo and it will make your routine easy because you won't have to decide what shampoo will i use today? Am i gon na co-wash? Am i gon na use a sulfate free, shampoo and i'm gon na? Am i gon na use a sulfate one, so the choice is taken out of there and it's simply easy. There'S no thought it's just automatic. You just go in the shower, pick your shampoo and start washing your hair. Now, if you have to use something else like if you don't use a lot of product heavy things that you just maybe throw your hair in twists or braids, and you don't slather your hair in any oils, because if you use oils again, it's just like anything Product heavy, you have to use a strong shampoo if you just use whatever light treatment. It is a little bit of leave-in conditioner and you don't feel like your hair needs, something as strong as a shampoo. Then you can choose to put in a co-wash or a sulfate-free shampoo. All my favorite sulfate-free shampoos honestly are from shea moisture. I have used maui, moisture ones as well, and i like them. I just like the shea moisture ones better, not sponsored by the way. Nothing in this video is sponsored. The third tip is pick one conditioner. Okay now i know there's like shampoo conditioner, deep conditioner, but when it comes down to it, how often will you actually use your conditioner and then use your deep conditioner, because i definitely do not? Okay, i find the simpler my routine is the easiest it the easier it is to get it done so skip over your conditioner and go straight to the deep conditioner. Now, if you could only have one, i would suggest you find one that has a good balance between protein and moisture, and i found that the shea moisture, manuka, honey and castor oil is it manuka, honey, manuka, honey and mafura oil. Deep conditioner is a perfect one that offers hydration, but it's also got a nice like light protein balance that won't make your hair feel dry. I would also suggest the amika nourishing hair mask because my hair feels perfectly balanced. I could use that for many weeks in a row and i'll never feel like my hair is lacking any protein. However, if you feel like your hair needs a protein step and a moisture step, i would still suggest both those treatments from shea moisture and amica, but i do know that you can go ahead and add in maybe an olaplex treatment or you can add in the The cure treatment by amica or the one i used to use a lot as well, and i haven't used it as much recently, but i did use it a lot and this is the aphogee protein treatment. So maybe, once a month, if your hair feels like it needs it, you can throw in a protein treatment but again to simplify your routine, just cut out all the extra stuff and just find one deep conditioner. That has a good balance between the two step. Four is a leave-in and i really think that leave-ins are underrated. I don't think people put as much effort as they put into the deep conditioner as they do the leave-in, and this is where you find a lot of people saying i used my deep conditioner and my hair felt amazing as soon as i finished using it, and Then, two days later, my hair, my hair, felt extremely dry. So maybe it's not so good, but it might be that your leave-in treatment is not that good. Now, your leave-in treatment can be something that's labeled, leave-in conditioner or it can actually be a moisturizer something labeled. As moisturizer or a hair butter by hair butter, i mean ones that are literally a thick moisturizer, not the whipped up shea butter and oils, because that's something totally different that if you're trying to make a simple straight to the point routine, you honestly do not need Any of that so for the butter i mean something like the as i am double butter. I'Ve actually never used that, although i really want to try it in my hair, but the as i am double butter is a very popular like very thick moisturizer. I do like to use leave-ins unless i run out of it, then i'll go ahead and just use a regular conditioner to moisturize my hair. My favorite leave-ins are the african pride one which is very affordable. I keep not being able to get my hands on it. I keep trying to order it from amazon and it's either that the it's going to take forever to get to me or something like that and it doesn't get sold locally anymore. I used to buy it locally here, but it's not available anymore. My second! Actually, let me not say my second favorite it's just that i fell in love with it after the african pride one, but it is now my new favorite leave-in conditioner. It is the olaplex. Is it number six the bond smoothing leave-in conditioner? That is my favorite conditioner of all time, my favorite leave-in conditioner of all time. It makes your hair feel soft and smooth the hydration lasts forever, and the bottle also lasts forever, although i still think the bottle is too small. Honestly look at my hair. I do have a lot of hair and even though i have a lot of hair, i honestly just need a tiny bit of it. It'S literally lasted me months and it's 100 ml. It'S a tiny bottle like this. I don't have it next to me, but it's a tiny bottle. I have got many uses out of it and i actually have repurchased it. It is on its way to me now um, like i said i order more most of my products from outside the country. So it's going to take maybe another week or two to get to me, but i did repurchase it because i love it that much and i will continue to use it over and over and over again it's just my god. Please olaplex. Can you make a bigger, like 500ml version and, like you know, make a bulk cost to reduce the pressure? Because it is expensive it's about 26 for the small one. I obviously got it on sale because i do all my shopping on black friday like for most of the year. I highly suggest that olaflex one you can see how much i love it. It is just amazing also. I haven't used it recently, but i have ordered it. I will be using it a lot more again: it's the jamaican black, castor oil leave-in from shea moisture and that one is affordable because it comes in a huge tub. It'S almost 500 ml and i think it's maybe 13., it's under 15., i'm pretty sure so that i also highly recommend so just find one leave-in conditioner, that's very hydrating. That goes with your hair type, because if you have very thick hair or very fine hair, you might need something: that's a little different, keep it in your routine and it will surely help you if your every day every week. Hairstyle is something that is product heavy. It'S something that requires a little bit more product. So let's say maybe if you wear your hair in more of like a ponytail or like a bun kind of thing, which, honestly you should switch up your hairstyles because it can cause breakage, even though it's protective. But let's say you wear your hair in a wash and go every day. I think you would know better what products to add there. So you can add, maybe a curling cream and a hair gel or a mousse. But my suggestion is: don't have multiple products to do the same thing if you're just trying to get a simple routine, we all love a lot of products. Okay, it's like my skincare routine. I'Ve got like eight to ten steps, but when you come down to it, you literally need like maybe maximum four things in your routine. But if you do just want to add a little bit more a little bit extra, you can go and branch out. You can branch out and add a couple things, but for the basics, you just want your hair to get longer, you want it to be healthier. You want it to be stronger, no fuss, you don't want to think about your routine, get one thing for every step. So leave in find one leaving if you do curl your if you do wear your hair in a wash and go find one hair gel one defining cream or whatever don't have like three different hair gels. Three different curling creams, because it's just going to stress you out and you feel like you're gon na - have too much to do just to get your hair to do the bare minimum. Now i barely use curling creams. I can't remember the last time i did a wash and go whenever that time was it's on this channel. So if you go back and find it, that's literally the last time i did a wash and go so i will try one soon. Just for the sake of it, but my hair is usually in braids or twists. Even now, my hair was in braids, no styler, no, nothing. It was just leave-in and then i unbraided it because my wash day is tomorrow. Okay, so that was kind of like tip four and five together, because the five one was more of the styling part like choose your styles, that you want to do and then just get the few products you need accordingly. So now we're going to tip six, and this is find one oil for your scalp, specifically for your scalp. You can use oils to seal in your products, but i only suggest using those when you're closer to your wash day so like maybe in the middle of your wash day. So your wash day, you put your leave-in conditioner and then let's say you wash your hair on a saturday or a sunday, maybe wednesday you can go ahead and re-moisturize your hair and add a little bit of an oil on top to seal that in and then At the end of the week, you wash your hair with a shampoo. That'S perfectly fine, but if you do that on your wash day and put oil on it, it's going to block more moisture from absorbing into your hair. So when you get closer to the end of the week, your hair is going to start feeling drier and drier, because while it's locking the moisture in your hair, it's also blocking more moisture from penetrating the hair shaft. Now some moisture will still go through it. Just won't be as much as if there was no oil, so i like oils for my scalp. It is my job to find new oils, new oils that work amazing and keep finding what's better and better. But once you find something that works, try and use it for about three months and be consistent to make sure it's actually helping you and then just continue using that one. There'S no need for you to have amla oil, avocado oil, olive oil by itself and then wild growth, oil, rosemary oil, moringa oil right now. This is my new favorite oil and it's literally the most powerful oil i have ever made, while my nails look terrible anyway. It'S the most powerful oil i've ever made, and i mixed my favorite oils, which is moringa oil and rosemary oil, so like if i wasn't a youtuber and i didn't have to be like, let me find something else that works for you guys in case some of You might not like this because, honestly, not everyone likes everything you might be pregnant, so i wouldn't advise you to use this if you're pregnant, you might just want to use plain olive oil, so there's so many factors that go into it but like if i didn't Have to research and do more for you. I would literally use this oil only until the end of the year, but i might find something that you might like better for your hair because you might be like i don't like moringa. I don't like rosemary, but i do like i don't know amla or some other concoction and you'd be like yeah. That'S that's the one for me, so i will discover it and show it to you, but even in my own hair, i usually like to try things for a while before i can say: okay, this actually does something unless it's things i've already used before and i'm Just mixing them together to make something more potent like this, stick to it be consistent with it, and you see results if you're, not consistent, you won't see any results. Even if it's doing what it's supposed to do, you won't see the results. The seventh tip is basically what i've been alluding to this entire video, and this is that the easier your routine is, the more likely it is to work for you, because it's more likely that you're going to be consistent with it, and it's more likely that you're Going to stick with it think about it, like a workout, if you're going to do like a really hard, really long, complicated workout at the gym or at home and you're thinking about it and you're, like oh, my god, i'm so tired, i'm going to have to Work out for a whole hour or two hours just going to do, it is going to be so dreadful. But if you're like oh i'm only doing like a 5-10 minute thing, it's not going to feel that intense. It'S not going to be that difficult until you get very consistent with it and you're like okay. Now i've got it. It'S so automatic in my routine that i can add a couple extra things and then you start adding a little workout here, a little workout there. That'S how it's going to be for your hair, so if you're like oh, i can spice it up a bit. Let me find a second deep conditioner just because i'm getting a little bored with this one it'll be so easy to incorporate it into your routine, because you already have something down packed, you don't have to think about it. It'S just going to be like waking up in the morning going to brush your teeth, taking a shower, getting ready for work, it'll just be so automatic that you won't have to think about it, and the inches are just going to keep coming and coming and coming From nowhere now for the bonus tip eating well getting movement, drinking a lot of water and keeping overall health of your entire body is, what's going to actually help your hair grow a lot but having a routine and doing all these topical things to your hair as Well will work: it works together. It'S just like food and exercise if you're trying to lose weight or gain weight. It'S the same thing with your hair. One can't work with without the other, so make sure you pay attention to everything together.
