Hi everyone welcome back to my channel today's video. We are going to be talking about the full range of olaplex and how to use it. If this is your first time here, my name is sylvia and i'm a licensed hairdresser based in san francisco and i've talked about old black's products for years on my channel. But i've never done a complete, sit down and talk through of each project and how to use it as a hairdresser. I felt like i know that the company i know the the products i know how to use these, but a couple weeks ago i got certified. Basically, you take a course on basically the science behind each product and basically, what it does to the hair, so, let's just get into it, so the range now goes from zero to eight. The number originally indicated the order that you use the products in when the line started. It was one two and three they've, of course, expanded, and each product is incredible and unique and amazing. In its own way, some products can be cocktailed together to kind of maximize each other. I always like to check out similar videos to see you know whether i can bring you something more than is already out there, and one thing i noticed is everyone talked about the at-home products only and step one and two are insalon products. I'M going to go into those as well, because i think it is important for you to understand the full line, all right, so i'm just going to go in order of the products so starting off with number zero. This is one of the more newer editions and because it's the number zero clearly you're supposed to use it before using another product. So when we get to the product that goes perfectly with xero, i will come back to this one, but i wanted to introduce it. So we go in the order of the numbers of the products, then we have product number one. This is what i feel like really changed the game for hairdressers, so this is an insulin product. This is what you mix into your lighteners, your colors, your balayage clays. Basically anything that lifts and colors of the hair - you can apply this too, so for one to two ounces of lightener or bleach. You add 1 8 of an ounce of this. This was the round one and it hasn't been changed because it was perfect to begin with, but basically olaplex's whole range is all about healing the bonds in the hair and multiplying them to give you strong hair. So this being mixed into your lightener would actually prevent the damage that lightener would give to your hair. This is actually preventing the damage from happening while still getting the bright results that you're after with using a lightener again, this blew all our little hairdresser's minds and we just couldn't get enough product actually works. You were able to do multiple lightning sessions almost in one day with your clients um, because you had this magical tool which you could add to your. You know everyday used a lightener and now have fewer damage to the hair. So, in the salon, after using step number one mixed into your lighteners in your color, then when it comes time to rinse the product off the hair, you go in with step number two, and this i would say most hairdressers would say that this step number one Is their favorite step? Number two is my favorite. Obviously number one is preventing all the breakage, but the number two is the bond perfector. It'S going to take care of anything that number one did not and intensify the bondage of those bonds, so this is applied on after you've, rinsed and shampooed, the lightener off of the hair. You tell dry the hair and you apply this and you leave it on. For five to ten minutes, you are then able to shampoo and condition, but basically the salon treatment of olaplex is complete and then we have number three. This was your take home treatment. So originally, when the line came out, it was one two and three steps. One and two were done in salon and three was the product that you got sent home with. So at the time when i started using olaplex in the salon like the the year it came out, i had stacks and stacks of these. I would charge for the oleplex treatment altogether and they would just get this for free. So this is the additional take home repair and strengthening treatment. So you use this once a week. You can use it two to three times a week if your hair is absolutely fatigued and dry and damaged if you're, taking care of your hair in the salon. Then doing this once a week is plenty for a couple weeks after you've, gotten your hair, colored or lightened so on damp or towel dried hair. You apply number three generously from roots to ends you let it sit for 10 minutes and then you're able to shampoo and condition and your treatment is complete and in the beginning i feel like there was a lot of misinformation. The information was don't leave it on any longer than 10 minutes to 10 minutes is the perfect appropriate time some clients were sleeping in the product. Basically, you can leave this on longer. If you place this on the hair and the hair starts to dry up, the product is no longer working. Your hair needs to remain somewhat wet for the product to continue to work so sleeping in it. It'S not gon na hurt your hair, but it's not going to really add much more benefits now earlier i mentioned product number zero, and this is where you can cocktail these together for the most perfect marriage of a bond building hair treatment. So the number zero you're going to spritz this all over the hair. This is basically a little primer for the number three and it will make sure that the number three works to its maximum capacity so basically intensifies and strengthens the power of the number three. So on damp hair you're going to spritz the hair with this product you're going to let it sit for 10 minutes so that this starts to activate and then you're going to go in with the number three and apply it through the hair and then again let It sit for another 10 minutes, so this treatment here together, you can get done at the salon or you can do this at home. The only products not sold to the public are are steps number one and number two everything else is at home products and treatment. Then we go into four and five and that's her shampoo and conditioner they're, actually in my shower and i didn't bring them downstairs, but they've also included uh. I believe this year, um 4p, which is their purple shampoo. Now their their shampoo and conditioner can be used anytime, even when you're not using it in combination with the rest of the olaplex treatments, it is a great shampoo and conditioner, but i do think it is a best used. This is just my personal opinion. Um best used when you have done a treatment, so after shampoo and conditioner number four and five we have the number six bond smoother. This is one of their leave-in treatments, so this is you're out of the shower you've. Towel dried, your hair, and then you can apply a small amount through your hair. It speeds up drying time, while smoothing away frizz and any flyaways. You can also apply this to dry hair once the hair is already styled. This gives you absolutely incredible next day hair and it is just a great leave-in, reparative cream, all right and then number seven, their bonding oil uh the whole time i kept thinking. How do they not have an oil - and i believe this was yet last year that they came out with the number seven and then i could breathe again so oplex number seven bonding oil, it's just as simple to use as any other hair oil, but incredible for The hair and again it's one of those products which is one thing. I'Ve preached on my channel for years and years and years always use a product. That'S healing the hair from the inside out and it's not just sitting on the hair and giving you temporary shine and that's exactly what this is. I love that it's a tiny bottle um, it is very concentrated and a little goes a very long way, but that being said, it is not heavy. I have mistakenly apply this to my roots and i can still kind of brush it out, and my hair does not feel heavy. Another lovely cocktail you can do with olaplex products is adding just a few drops of the bonding oil to the number six mixing that well into the palms of your hands and applying that to the hair, and then we have our very last product. The number eight. This is the bond intense moisture mask, and this one is done in the shower, so for the absolute ultimate at home. Treatment that you can do to your hair would be before washing your hair you'd go in with number zero, letting that sit on the hair for 10 minutes and then applying a number three letting that sit for 10 minutes. Then you would follow with shampooing your hair. Then going in with their number eight moisture mask so you're going to apply this on damp to wet hair in the shower you're, going to apply this from mid length through the ends, and you can leave this on the hair for five to ten minutes, then you're Going to rinse that out no need to add conditioner or anything else and you've got the most luxurious, at-home hair treatment. You can absolutely give yourself and yeah. That is it. That is the entire ulplex range. I love each product individually but, like i said some in combination just give you the most beautiful results. So if you've used oplex in in the past, but weren't really sure how to use it or if you feel ever like you didn't get full benefits. I definitely recommend giving it another go and also to try some other new products that have come out. Sometimes in my virtual consults that i'm doing now and i'll mention like oh, you need the number eight or you need the number. You know three and they're like oh, i already have the number five and i'm like they're so different. So hopefully after watching today's video you're a little more informed and you can now make the better decision on which product is best for you and your hair needs. So yeah, that was a lot of information for those of you that are still here. Thank you. Please subscribe. If you haven't, give it a thumbs up um. If you found this video helpful, it helps me understand which videos help you guys out more and which videos you would like to see. More of so also, i will leave a link in the description box for you to shop any of these products. I do make a small commission as most hairdressers who become affiliates with olaplex get, but if you guys have been here for a while, i've been a huge, huge fan of oleplex um from the moment they came out. So it truly is an innovative and incredible line. So yeah, i love you guys. Thank you so much for watching and i will see you in the next one bye guys

KBuns: Finally! 0 thr 8 explained all in one, I've been waiting for this! Even the Olaplex website is a challenge to figure out. I wasn't aware of the 4P, cool. Thanks so much Sylvie!!

Marianne Ibrahim: 2 questions: I read somewhere that Olaplex 0+3 are better used on shampooed towel dried hair. Question 2: Could you do a video on number 1&2 salon treatment on non colored hair? also is there a benefit or these are only for colored hair?

Caroline Grova: Very helpful, Sylvia! Would you be able to recommend anything similar to steps one and two that are available to the public? I'm sure they wouldn't be as good as the real deal but even something in the neighborhood would be helpful.

Robin McHardy: I love Olaplex and use it for years. But I admit I was little disappointed by the nr. 5 and 8. they did not do much for my hair and it felt like I need the entire bottle to help my hair. but they came out with a new mask product, the "4 in 1" which is my favorite of that 3. So I would advise to skip 5 and 8 for the "4 in 1" treatment if you have very coarse/ damaged/ dry thick hair. regarding the 0 they came out with a new bottle as featured in your video and I was wondering if they have changed the ingredients as well? since they have the newer version I feel like it did more to my hair then before.

wrinkles & sprinkles: I’ve heard such good things about the brand, but become confused as to which product to use when. For some of us the products are pricey! If we’re using then incorrectly the cost increases exponentially. Thanks for the video☺️

opchick05: I love your video's and have learned so much over the years.... I have never bleached my hair, just used box kits from the drugstore. I had an Olaplex treatment done in a salon a few years ago, purchased the #3 for home use...it totally destroyed my hair. My hair became so dry and nothing I did brought it back to its former luster. Though I understand the science behind the brand, it is definitely not for everyone. I thought I was the only person who had a very negative reaction, but after going on fb and yt, I was assured I was far from the only one. I hate being the negative reply, but just wanted to warn others, there is no one thing that works for everyone.

Nikki Lamberti: Ty sooo much for making this!! I'm actually looking into this now & was curious what a hair dresser thought of every one!

Zenobia W: I use 0 and 3 on my virgin hair every once in a while and it makes my curles/waves more bouncy, uniform and shiny. It's not just for chemically processed hair. The other products don't do too much for me, unfortunately.

Brenda Kelly: Hi sylvia. I have been using #7 since you recomended it in one of your videos and I love it. It has totally changed my hair.Thank you <3

Kristi & Jeff Gillis: I love olaplex the whole line works amazing my hair was so dry from bleaching over the years that I had to go back dark to give it a break and between that and Olaplex my hair is so soft and manageable now and the 1 and 2 has been a game changer when touching up my dark color!! Highly recommend for anyone

QT Yogini: I feel this line is overrated. I’m a bleached blond so my hair is the typical salon blond. The shampoo and oil are fantastic. The conditioner was not conditioning at all in my opinion. I can’t speak about #8 since I gave up trying olaplex. I gave this line a fair chance over the last 3 years. I actually found the K-18 product to work best for my blond.

Erin C: I just discovered Olaplex for myself. I’ve known about the products for years, but thought it was for blondes only. I finally tried it via their set that Sephora sold in their sale this past fall. I’m hooked. It’s an amazing system. I got a notification on my phone a few days ago that Ulta is going to start carrying it!

kwood14023: Omg thank you! I was just always confused about the whole system. And I completely trust you So thank u for making this. ❤Also have been following you and using ALL of your tips & tutorials forever!!

Priscilla Nieto: Have only used the Olaplex Bond Smoothing Oil, and I was rather disappointed. I have really thick hair and it felt too lightweight. I used it as a heat protectant on damp hair as well as to finish and seal my ends on dry hair, & it felt like it just disappeared into my hair & didn't really smooth anything out. I live in Alaska & in the dead of winter I need something to really take care of my dry ends.

Latoya Ann: I have number 3 and love it! My hair is silky soft afterwards :D

Hope Hellmann: I had switched to Olaplex no 4 and 5 with the Olaplex no 8 mask once every couple weeks and my hair is more brittle than it has EVER been :( I have fine and thin hair to begin with but it has completely damaged beyond repair. Am I doing something wrong? Please help a gal out! :( Love your videos btw!

Jai Fleming: Hey there! Thanks for sharing this information. I do have a question , I use numbers 4,7 & 8 , with the Olaplex system which one performs as a heat protectant or would you recommended a heat protectant. I currently purchased from Sephora “WOW” so far so good, but I would exchange for another Olaplex product. Thanks so much!

Kristy Elizabeth: As a Stylist,I love 1,2,3,7but there Shampoo is extremely drying and the Conditioner and Mositure mask had almost no moisture in it. I was disappointed.

Heather Thomas: I am saving this!!! I’ve always wanted to try and got the gift set for Christmas so now I know how to use it :) thank you!

Holly Hunyor: Question: are steps 2 and 3 essentially the same product? Just one at the salon, and a milder formula for at-home use? I would love to know what the difference is.

mary mary: Did you mention 4 in 1 moisturize mask? I’m dying for you to go over this one

Jamie Crockett: Very helpful. Do you believe in how the pH of a shampoo and conditioner affect the hair/scalp overall?

juli **: Question…I might have missed an older video where you explain, But I do remember you saying in a previous video that you felt like if #2 was left longer than 10 minutes the lifting process became very difficult and you preferred the redkin version. Do you still feel like that ?

Kirsty Macfarlane: Thanks Sylvia, love your videos and appreciate your knowledge xxx

Dei Lugo: Hey Silvia... happy new year. Hope you and your beautiful family are doing well... I love Olaplex, and appreciate this video, however I really miss the Redken Ph Bonder. Any ideas what happened to that line? One day out of the blue it vanished off the shelves. It was a sad very sad day for me. Any word in the hair dressing world what happened? Thanks in advance.

Fialta: This came just at the moment I am using 0+3! So thank you! My question is can I use Malibu C right after? I'm thinking not?? How about shades EQ gloss??

Martha Okay: Has anyone seen the 4 in 1 moisture mask? How often can I use it on my hair?

Marie S.: So would you overall recommend weekly using all the at home products at once? I have everything except 0 and don’t color my hair but I just don’t know if I should use everything at once or do the #3 treatment and then next shower or following week do #8 so it’s not to much product?? Are any products not necessary to use that frequently if your hair isn’t very damaged? And are any of these a hair protectant or if not what’s your favorite one for straightening iron?

GirlyTipsEtc: Finally an explanation about Olaplex products thank you so much! Where can we begin if we don't have the salon treatment? Would it still be helpful? Xo

Lisa Marie: Could you please do a video about regrowing hair .. after large amounts of hair loss after having covid. It’s been coming out in clumps and it’s really stressful at this point I’m not even sure what to do? Been watching videos about rice rinses, fenugreek and coffee on scalp. Do you have any suggestions?

Samantha Barona: This video was everything. Thank you ♥️

Diane W: Olaplex’s website says no. 0 should be applied to dry hair. 4P purple shampoo is super pigmented. I love the whole line.

Wendy: Thank you so much!!! I'm still so happy you shared your video of the birth of your daughter congratulations to you and Adam love my olaplex number 3 too

Diva📝: I watch you because you educate on how to be nice to my hair.. Thank you Sylvia

Errielle ET: Just brought # 3 and I heard people don’t do it right so this is perfect

Karen Lee: Just bought that it’s awesome for blondes I love it!!!

paintnknit: Thank you for your videos. Are the at home products helpful for untreated silver hair?

Laurie Stablein: #1 and #2 are these products just for lighting the hair or can they be used for depositing dark hair color as well?

Theresa Simmons: Love your videos. I have learned so much and you make it so simple to understand..

Fra U.: Sorry if i missed it... will Creatine residues damage your hair when using olaplex 3?

D R: Thank you for this video!! The best explanation and to the point. I cannot find the number 1 to put in my bleach/developer. I havent gone blinder again because of that one product I'm missing.

Pandora Victoria: Can you touch on 1 and 2 as a stand alone treatment please not a lot of info out there on it

Mleclair Book: Thank you very much for the information! Love it

Marissa Henderson: Number 8 made my hair so dry and break very disappointed in their new stuff.

Denise Bennett: Hii silviea Happy New year to you and your new addition to family . I use olaplex and love all there products. Thanks for sharing

Marie: Question :)... My hairdresser does not use Olaplex, can I still use 3-4-5 or it's useless?

Lisa Copeland: Hi Elle, what color would u call your current hair color? I love it and need to know what to tell my hairdresser to get your results.

notyourbae 19: I have 1 m long bleached blonde healthy hair I only used olaplex once didnt like the result didnt see a difference and the price for that tiny teenie bottle is just ridiculous

Bolla 00: I would like if instead of always saying "amazing to the hair" "best home treatment" and bla bla you added something a little more specific to the explanation since you've done the course, like for example how it really works from a more technical point of view, because it sounds like a mistery (or a big marketing). Everyone just keeps saying and explaning always the same things when talking about Olaplex. For example when you said that their oil heals the hair from the inside.. but How? Or when you say that two of them if used toghether they give the "best results" ok but why? That's what we wanna know, cause i guess almost everyone who knows a little bit of Olaplex already knew everything of what you explained today

สะใภ้ยูเค UK: Olaplex 4in1 is very good too

Pandora Victoria: Thank you,there isn’t a lot on 1 and 2

stargwynn1: What are your thoughts on olaplex ph levels?

lisap3.2: Why don't they just update 3 to make it work to its potential? I get they will sell more product but seems like they made a product that wasn't that great and needed to add something (0)?

Pandora Victoria: Have you tried the 4 in 1 I love it

Madagirl Madagirl: I remember you making a video how you don't really like olaplex cuz it made coloring and styling harder and just made your hair flat

Nox Nekori: I used numbers 0 and 3 together twice, at home, followed all instructions, didn't see ANY difference in my hair at all ;(

felipe menezes: Love your videos! You forgot Olaplex 4in1 Moisture Mask

Jamie D: I use 6, I’m going to have to get the oil to try

Curious Chemistry: Knowledge is power thank you!

Anita Bryant: Is the pH of the shampoo okay or drying

El: Hello from your new subscriber from SF :) Great video. Thank you for the explanation!

Reanna Garnica: Would have loved to hear more about the actual science behind it. More than just it’s repairing bonds. I love the diagrams you’ve done in the past. That’s what got me interested in your channel is you were one of the only people out there explaining hair science.

Lee Lee: And what if I dyed my hair at home and put some of 0 and 3 inside my bleach Would that be just the same ?

H R2: Thank you great information x

tChris Triana: How does it affect curly hair , does it make the curls weighed down

D Hurley: Thank you for this …

Garrel Riggs: I've just watched some video yesterday that olaplex don't recommend to spray No 0 , and now they did a new spay bottle

Early2000s: Is number 7 a heat protectant too ?

Guizzelle Ubia: I lost a lot of hair using this product.

Majaa: i think i will try and use number 3, 6 and 7 together

SABeauty: I have #1, 2,3 and #6. You can buy #1 and #2

Joslynn Ford: Thank you!!! Very helpful

OceanArk7 7: The shampoo and conditioner weighs my hair down soooo much.

Jennifer Carver: Question? If you have product and hairspray in your hair, is it best to wash hair first before using number 3? I’ve seen different responses

Frankendoll: Thank you!✌

Mario D’Ambrosio: What about 4in1?

Scifilover: Thank you very much!

Alisa Singletary: Thank you!!!

Rickie Bee: If you had to recommend just one for everyone, which would it be?

Jennifer Gooding: I have the no. 6 and didn’t really see a difference

Amanda’s Color: Thank you!

Dorian Thompson: Thank you thank you thank you!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Lisa Ray: The PH on the shampoo is WAY too high. Not a great product but rest of the line is BOMB!

Andrea Yepez: How do I schedule an appointment to do my hair with you???

Elisabeth Trinh: Thanky you for sharing!!!

jpree2922: What about the new 4 n 1

M: This is for hair stylist, not anyone not licensed

Paula Alejandra: Price?

Kendra Voracek: ❤❤

Modegfay: Interesting fact: it is hard to promote my YouTube channel so I should write such comment to promote it...

Southern Belle: ❤

miss kitty: Have you heard of Aphogee?

starlite556: The conditioner is awful . It has some bad reviews.

plantgal: Ugh I'm sorry but this doesn't make sense to me. She says put # 3 on towel dried hair at 4:40 but then a second later she says to shampoo and condition after applying. Doesn't towel dried hair mean after the shower?

Donna Noe: No. I am not using it wrong. I hate when a title says that I have been doing it all wrong.

Denise Bennett: Sorry ment Sylvia
