Don't Forget To Live Your Extra Life.

Hi beautiful you look absolutely stunning today. Thank you for being here cap highlighting scares the [ __ ] out of me. Okay, I'm gon na be honest with you. I'Ve had one or two bad run-ins with cap highlights and by one or two I mean probably 25. I haven't done that many cap highlights my wife actually uh. I think, and did it at like after it's like five of them and was like this is probably not gon na work out ever again. Let me stop ruining people's heads with this thing. That is cap, highlighting if you don't know what cap highlighting is well I'm glad you're here cap highlighting was huge in the 90s to the early 2000s, and some people still use caps for highlighting today believe it or not. I'Ve been seeing more and more professional hair. Stylists use cap highlights in our current day and time. I don't know what to think about that. To be honest with you, I am just a little confused about the whole thing. I don't know if it's just for show, I don't know if we are doing it because it looks cool. I just can't comprehend what's going on and I thought what better way to try and comprehend. What'S going on than to try it out myself, I'm miss Manny Quinn, because she she will do anything. I ask her to do well. Actually I don't really ask her to do anything. I usually we get along after we have a few fights and then I apologize and then she's kind of over it thanks girl. Thank you. So much cap highlighting is notorious to be a streaky random junky highlight as depicted here, and these photos of people doing their cap highlights very 90s 2000s feeling Britney Spears, but the chunky highlights. If that's your vibe, that's your vibe. However, people are using it in a different way. Now here is some videos of people doing it, cap highlighting in a artistic manner right they are highlighting, but then they're using it toners and or glosses whatever you want to call. It then bring it down. Those highlights and kind of melt everything together and create a beautiful overall blonde effect and then there's the people at home. Doing their cap highlights right across the board. We have professionals doing it, we have people at home, doing it doing it. Okay and then we have people at home, doing it, and it's just coming out terrible and reminding me of 90s early 2000s. I haven't done cap high lighting, since I was in Harris school, maybe not even then. I can't remember the last time I did it. It was a long time ago, but I want to get back into it. I want to see what's going on, I want to see what all the hypes about I want to see. If maybe you should be doing this to your hair. Maybe this is the next best thing to doing a fast highlight on a person's head and doing a lot of them at once. I'M skeptical, however, I'm always open to learning and growing as a hairdresser. So I thought why not follow an at-home, a cap highlighting tutorial today, because what better way to learn then through somebody who has no idea what they're doing I mean what better way tell me. I don't see one so, let's see if cap highlighting is something that I should bring back into my hairdressing toolbox. If you will, let's do it. So, as I just explained, it's been a while, since I've done a cop highlight we're gon na watch, Gina Hellena, Mary and her video is called brunette to blonde highlights at home. Can'T wait to see it. It has a ton of youth back in 2015. I guess that was the thing to do and then, after that, Miss Minnie Quin is about to get a beautiful makeover. I'M sorry in advance, okay, it might not look that good, but hopefully it does. Okay, all right. Let'S see how Gina cap highlights her hair at home, you don't want to mess up your clothes okay shirt, because you can move a bit easier. She, starting with the same kind of color. My mannequin is in a way you like to wear it. I always have my hairline in the middle okay middle, but you can also make a section on the side of your head. Okay, wait! Let me do that first, so Miss Minnie Quinn is going to get a center part, because I think that she looks fierce with a center part all right boom. She is a nerd, hello, okay, what's next brush it again and make sure there are no tangles, throw all of that hair in the back and put on the very charming cap that comes with the highlight box. Also in the Box is this comp with small hook on it. With this we're gon na pull out all of the hairs. I got it, you see it time. I did this. I thought it was pretty hard. I got my tools, okay, your time and be patient. You do want to come to the roots of your hair as much as possible. She is going in and she is pulling that hair through the cap because it will keep the highlights even divided on your head. There is nothing even about this, I'm so sorry, but there's not she's lifting all that highlighted hair up she's, putting the hair underneath the cap into a ponytail and now she's gon na go in and lay in it she's using box dyed. Of course. Of course, how is she gon na apply this just put it all over I'm guessing what stops the color from seeping through the holes? I guess nothing we'll see. That'S a lot of hair that she's highlighting also it's going to be a dramatic result. She is going in with that light in her bag. She is going in. She is coloring, every single strand and she's going for it. I can't wait to see the outcome of this. Oh actually it doesn't look bad. I mean it's definitely streaky. Is it the worst highlight I've ever seen? No as a hairdresser, I definitely see many flaws. However, she looks beautiful at that one piece, though: that's really light. It'S getting me, I mean listen, it definitely worked. I, however, want to see kind of the results in real life and see what actually happens. I'M gon na put the cap on Miss Maggie Quinn here and start pulling the hairs through the cap and I'll give you an update on how that's going. Let'S get started. Her hair is so pretty I'm gon na miss it onto her head. This just feels all sorts of wrong. Yes, little red riding-hood, she's gon na hate me after this okay. That is exactly how it sussed be on there, and now we just start pulling out the hair through the holes that hopefully um pull out the hair in from the right spot, even though we have no idea where it's pulling it from, I don't get it, but It'S all about experimentation and growing and learning everything about this feels wrong. Let'S start right here and we'll just grab a piece of hair and pull it out. Okay, I'm not gon na lie. That was slightly fun. That'S a lot of holes! I'M gon na do this circled hole so on this thing, you'll see that there are circular. Do you see how big of a chunk that just took out? How do you make it so it doesn't do that? That'S better! Okay! Okay, that's one row complete! I did it let's move on. My question is: make it less chunky, you should be delicate with it. I think, delicate something. I'M not know. Oh my god, it's like pulling out pulling out so much more hair than I want it to every single time. Okay, so now that we've done a few more rows, I am having just serious problems with breaking the bag. I'M really struggling. I really am trying, but I'm getting a very inconsistent results like that piece of hair is so thin. This piece of hair is so thick and then I try to go back in and dig for more and it just becomes way too much. So why do I do? How do I make this work? No, I don't want that whole piece. What is this we, like? A little ponytail coming up here now: okay, that was way too much hair, I will admit, but there's no going back. Maybe we can put this underneath this and pull the hair back out. Oh no actually looks better now we're doing good we're making moves right. Now. All right, I'm getting worried because what's happening is I'm putting kind of rather large holes into these perforated holes, um, which is claimed to result in the lightener bleeding through them. But I really am trying oh come on. Please sometimes no hair even comes out of hole. All right, let's move on to this side and we'll finish the front after. Oh God also, do it all the way down here your scalp down here we're almost done. I finished that was the quickest amount of time I've ever spent kind of highlighting somebody's hair. I haven't really put a lighter on yet, but pulling all the hair through was actually way faster than I thought it was gon na be and actually kind of felt nice. It was therapeutic, it was kind of fun. However, oh my god was it inconsistent. There'S a ponytail coming through her head right here. It was really hard to get a consistent pull out of the cap. I mean some of them have like loops at the end, I'm just worried about like banding and like streaking and probably not gon na be a pretty sight, but we are gon na try our best to make this look amazing and make this work. So I'm gon na mix up the lightener now bring it back and start applying the lightener to her head and then we'll see. Alright, we mix this and this together and got this. Now, let's apply okay, that's it just just going for just painting or right on that cap. Alright! Alright, let's do it! I mean it's definitely fun, okay, so that is all applied. She has light on her entire head that felt really weird to do. I just kind of plop the lightener on which doesn't feel normal, but we're gon na wait 35 minutes and see what kind of results we got maybe put a toner on it. I don't know we'll see what happens. Let'S have fun with it right. Okay, the processing has finished now for the best and most exciting and most satisfying part of all taking the bag off the head. People seem to be so shook by this every time they see videos of this process, and so am i go. She'S definitely blond, oh, that is for sure. I'M gon na go shampoo. This out be right back so here's the thing. I didn't expect this outcome and I don't know what to say about it for so many reasons, but let me show you what it looks like it doesn't look, bad and uh. I don't know what happened. It obviously doesn't look perfect, but I would allow somebody out of this salon. Looking like this 100 %, that was the fastest most effective, highlighting I've ever done in my life, I mean it was probably in ten minutes to fully pluck out all the hair through the holes, five minutes to put the color on and then thirty minutes to, let It sit, it was a really fast process, comparing it to foiling, and let me just show you this color i-i-i-i. I was expecting this to come out that it did not do that. So, let's just talk about this really quickly. I don't want you guys to get ideas at home, alright, that this is the best idea ever, but I have to admit I was wrong. I really wasn't expecting this kind of an outcome. I didn't even atone her hair, so you could imagine if I did it how good this would look. It would look even better. This isn't like so long quality foiling 100 %. It'S not you're gon na get a way better foil job out of salon. I mean she doesn't even have any face framing highlights, there's nothing going on over here. Okay, maybe there is, but there's no like face beautiful face drumming highlights. It is slightly inconsistent. You know there's chunky piece over here, there's thin ones over here, but I have to admit it doesn't look bad and it's definitely a viable option. The hairdresser's everywhere are quaking right now, listen. I was working on top of already blonde hair adding highlights into it. So it's not gon na look too stripy because it was already blonde hair. I was working on top of if you're working on dark hair. This will look much more straight being random. Overall, I can't be mad at this. This was the biggest shocker of a lifetime to be dramatic about it. She has a full foil, highlight in a matter of an hour I'll, take it Matt. Well guys there you have it that is cap. Highlighting did it work yes, weirdly enough, it did. Is it perfect? No, could it be better when a hundred percent, but what I wear this hair on my head, maybe - and that's good enough for me - maybe cap highlighting, is the future. What a journey that was today hope you guys enjoyed that. I learned a lot. Brad Mondo: Would you get a cap highlight???

victoria: Can we take a moment to appreciate how pretty Brad's eyes look with darker hair?

Orangie Orange: I'm a cosmetologist and went to Beauty School back in '99 when they were still mainly doing cap highlights. Once or twice a year I do them on myself and always have good results! (I would never attempt using foils on myself- and the awesome thing about cap highlights is a consistent processing time because it's applied all at once.) Here are some tips from the years of practice I've had with this method: Wash and deep condition hair first, (I do it the night before.) and make sure it's bone dry to start. Apply a leave-in conditioner and/or serum from the mid shaft down; concentrating on the ends, and flatiron smooth to prevent snagging. I start with a part slightly off center because there's a row of holes going up the middle of the cap and the hair pulls out sparse along the part. Make sure hair is thoroughly brushed before putting the cap on. I like the Conair Pro Extend A Cap and metal crochet hook (plastic hooks are garbage!)... pulling the hair through evenly takes practice. Go slow and do it gently, you can always pull out more. (And actually if you pull too much through, you can go underneath and pull the hair back under the cap using a rat tail comb.) After a strand of hair is pulled out through the hole, there's often a loop of hair that hasn't fully gotten past- use a comb as you go, and comb that loop out before grabbing for more hair- sometimes the loop of hair doesn't seem like alot, but it is. I stagger and pull more hair through every other hole so it doesn't come out looking like spaghetti. I usually pull it out heavier around the face, and I make extra holes in between, especially around the hair line. Sometimes I do every other hole (or starting that way just below the crown/using all the holes on top). I usually take it down to the occipital in back (but once in a while I go all the way down) and pull out in a pattern that angles towards the face up front- this looks especially amazing with an a-line bob! (I use a 3 way mirror for the sides.) Doing the back is tedious as hell and requires the use of a hand mirror, alot of self talk, and listening to music!!! I start at the top, and work my way down, one row at a time. I clip the hair up and out of the way with each row. It takes longer, but I have less tangles and snags with this method. Always look out for strands that got pulled through other holes- sometimes you'll find an open hole that's lost it's hair, so check row by row and make sure it's even. When finished, grasp sections side by side to make sure what's been pulled will give a balanced result; adjust if needed... The hair left underneath, I put into a low ponytail, wind up like a snail, clip, and tuck under the plastic flap in the back (Extend A Cap)... Almost always, instead of full on bleaching, I make a color remover (or "soap cap") formula because it's more gentle. I mostly use 10 volume developer because I have alot of fine hair that's always porous and soaks up color like a sponge. The lower volume developer allows me more time to get a thorough application. Sometimes I use an accent color instead of lightener. (Orange on Auburn, or Melon on Blonde...) Sometimes I go for a balayage effect and paint on the color or lightener halfway down. I've also used a cap for lowlights, or adding ash to tone down red. Just remember to think of the pre punched holes more as a guide. You don't have to use all of them and with the same amount of hair! Try to keep the color or lightener off the openings, use a formula as thick as possible, don't press on the cap, and make sure hair is fully dry- this prevents bleeding, or "saturn rings" as they were called in school. I was taught to rinse with the cap still on- just work quickly so all that water mixed with lightener doesn't seep onto the other hair. Apply lots of conditioner after a semi decent rinse and pull the cap off. Then you can rinse for real, shampoo and condition. Caps are versatile as hell if you give them a chance!! They're an inexpensive way to add some dimension to all over color; or downplay something like a dark band, (from a grown out root smudge ), an over saturated mid shaft, or ends that are murky or overly bright. They yield professional results, and all for under $20 if used with patience, care, and consideration.

My cat is judging you: I really appreciate that brad isn’t to proud to admit when he’s “ wrong” ( like wrong isn’t the right word but I don’t know how else to say it) I totally agree that you’re going to get better results and quality when at the salon and foils, but for a quick budget friendly option this wasn’t bad

oumaima fkihi: I'm very curious to see how a curly headed girl like me is gonna pull those little strings of hair with no pain and absolute grace.

Laura Mead: I was like he's starting on the roots?!? And then immediately realized it's a mannequin head with no heat at the scalp

Rania Alrawi: okay but a moment to appreciate brad's looks, he serving us everyday also the dark hair oml

Leah Rose: “I don’t want you guys to get ideas” Me: *watching this with a highlighting cap on* Update: I love how it turned out I was nervous because I have dark hair lol but I used a toner after and it looks great.

dezzaria martz: Me: *literally crying right now because I’m ugly* Brad: “Hello beautiful, you look absolutely stunning”

Cayla DeLorenzo: I don’t know about anyone else, but I’ve been wanting the 90’s chunky look lately‍♀️

Morgan's Horse Training!: I did cap highlights, bought the box for $10 at walmart, cause poor girls pretty good at doing hair at home with box dyes, and it was the first time I have ever put bleach in my hair, and it turned out awesome!! Like the hair on my head was stylin! 1st time with bleach was a good experience!

Flor Aranda: My sisters and I been cap highlighting at home for almost 10 years and I have three pro tips to make it flawless. 1. Use a latex cap if you are not allergic. These are more thin and will keep it close to the scalp. If it doesn’t have holes the better cause it prevents the bleach from passing out the cap. 2. Use a thin crochet needle to take the hair out. To make thin sections just insert the needle in a 45 degree angle from the head without doing a swirl. If you swirl the needle you’ll end up with chunky highlights. It’s like stabbing but don’t hurt yourself! 3. When you finish the sectioning throughout the head, comb the hair that is out. Make sure that the cap is the closest to the scalp as possible. Give it a like so Brad can see it!

Abbey Tiffany: One thing I love about Brad is that even if he is skeptical about something or doesn’t like it, he still tries it and makes the best about it!

Barb Dunker: I love capping!! Did it in the 80’s and 90’s, early 2000’s. Started growing out my grey last year. Went back to a cap highlight to make an easier transition. All grey now, but still love the look of capping.

Patti Melt: I’m a hairdresser and I love foils, I’m ordering 8 caps and I’m so excited to do my own hair. I’m gonna leave the front hairline out and foil it separately I think. Yay. And also probably tease what I pull out for a blended effect

Paola Little_evil_bat: I am sitting here with period cramps, feeling like the ugliest shoot ever and you are telling me that I look absolutely stunning. You know what? I needed this today. Thank you (crying emoji) <3

Schuyler Dade: I refuse to believe that Brad would go brunette. Conspiracy theory: Brad is on vacation and this is a super good impression by Eric.

Laura McDonald: This was one of my favorite videos! After watching it I got the nerve to cap highlight my hair (which I had been wanting to for awhile). It turned out so much better than I could have imagined. I have a before and after picture but it won’t let me post it here. Thank you for sharing!

Gabrielle Romo: I smiled a lot during this video having flash backs to my mama and I doing our hair with the cap. <3 I sure miss her.

Enrika .M: Me: gets all dressed up Also Me: goes on Brad's channel to make myself feel better about how i did my makeup Brad: you look stunning Me (again) : feels AMAZING

Laura S: I had cap highlights many times and it came out very well!

Stephanie: Brad: "you look absolutely stunning" Me, in the middle of the night, unable to get back to sleep because of depression and intrusive thoughts, tears streaming down my face: thank you

Savannah Hunter: I’ve done cap highlighting and it looked really well with my long hair!

Silver Cierra: I’ve been capping my hair to bleach since I was 12, my Mawmaw was a amazing stylist and she always used them on my hair. So I just kept doing it. And I always had great results and it never failed me but I was also a light blonde to begin with.

Allie Elizabeth: When brad tells me I look stunning my confidence level was like down to the earth’s crust to space! Love you!

Beauty With Randi: cap frosts are the best! I love the look and wish I could find someone to do it on me!

Danielle Lillie: I was going to say “are we just going to ignore a brunette brad?” But then I saw the comments and thank god I’m not the only one. You look AMAZING and so glowing Brad!!

Rose's Stuff: Thank you so much for this video, I just lightened my hair for the very first time today, and while I only used a 20 developer and I do like the color, I VERY much learned that *I* will not be coordinated enough to be doing a babylight weave pick-out on myself anytime soon. Quick thing- If you get really shook about the amount the hook is pulling...its basically just a cotton doily crochet hook, they come in many, and MUCH smaller sizes than you get in the box kits. Look for steel needles, the bigger the number, the smaller the needle. Ive got one more ounce of bleach powder...might go grab my cap and hit it again... Thanks so much for the guidance Brad!!! You are literally the best thing elevating my standards on my own DIY dye jobs right now!! Wouldnt have tried lightening without you.

Isabel Angel: You are always enjoyable to watch. Keep being your beautiful self Mondo! Yes! I would and I WILL be doing cap highlights

Megan Schroter: I've done this (and my hairdresser has done this) and it seems to work for me! I have pretty curly hair and the sort of random nature of the cap really seems to work well with my hair texture.

Marie Smith: It looks pretty damn good, and I thought it would be terrible. I’m so shook.

Naya Roy: Brad is looking healthier than ever and I didn’t know it was possible but he GLOW ✨✨✨

Jennie Nguyen: “She’s going to hates me”. I think so too Brad. Look at her expression. Seeing you get frustrated, that’s how regular people dealt with diy at home. I laughed so hard when you removed the cap and lifted her head right off. Her hair looks nice actually.

Julie Butler: i remember the cap from the frost & tip kit of the late 60s and beyond. It seemed impossible to pull the strand all the way out--the cap sits on a half inch of root

Anna Burns: A professional did a cap highlight on my hair years ago. I don't remember the results of it, but I do remember that every time she stuck the crochet hook into the hole, she stuck my head and it hurt! I love the darker hair color on you Brad!

Roblox Helper: i lowkey enjoy the inconsistency of the size of blonde. it’s thicker and thinner and adds like illusion of dimension and volume

Stefanie Schweigler: Conspiracy theory: Brad went brunette so nobody would recognize him buying supplies for cap highlighting.

Kelsey Stark: My stylist has always used a cap and I love how it grows out!

Melissa N: You are BEYOND AWESOME! I was literally in stitches the whole video to the point my husband slammed a door bc he was apparently annoyed by the constant outbursts of laughter. Thank you

Evelyn Enos: I love this channel sooo much like he’s not too over reactive to everything and doesn’t scream my ears off and I can relax to this just mmmm I appreciate people like this♥️♥️♥️

Linda Mitchell: I've had 2 I loved my beautiful color. I think the secret to removing the cap, is to rinse the hair then add conditioner to the hair, and the cap comes off smoothly, my hairdresser did mine this way.

Lady Lynx: Me: **in my pajamas, haven't washed hair in 3 days because I'm lazy** Brad: you look absolutely stunning today Me: ( . _.)

Lori Howard: Thank you thank you thank you. I'm doing cap highlights on a client today for the first time since beauty school (20 years ago) because her hair is way too short to get in a foil with any proper technique. I feel better about it after watching this!

patriciap335: Hi Brad, I did cap highlighting for years and loved it. It takes practice but can get it to perfection. Love you

Veronica: I’m already blonde and doing this during quarantine to touch up my outgrowth. No regrets

Debbie Manning: I'm doing it, I love it! I've never had the foil highlights we have always used caps. I've never done it myself

Chanandler Bong: Brad: “I don’t like brown hair” 2020 Brad: *dyes hair brown* Good for u Brad! Plus u look SO good with darker hair. Werk. IT.

Diana Doiu: Yesss I'm doing this at home by myself and I love it

Kellie McBride: It's so cute how he's showing his young age by saying cap hi-lites are a 90's ,2000's thing. I did it alot in the 80's as a teen.

Heather Barrier: Brad you are the sunshine of my day...I was in such a ratchet mood and I watched this video and my soul is happy again...how do you do that??? You're an angel and I love you're videos so much!!! Thanks for the smiles!!!

Kristin W.: Great tutorial video - thanks for sharing this simple highlight-hair tips!

Luísa Vaz: Brad: I don’t want you to get ideas at home. Me: stuck at home quarantining for who knows how long getting ideas

K Stee: I highlighted my own hair with a cap for years before I could afford to have foils done by a stylist. I saw no difference in the results.

Megan Paintz: I grew up with my mom giving me cap highlights because that’s what they learned in school and my hair always turned out amazing!

Tamela E: Hi Brad I've been subscribed to your channel for a while now and just came across this, had to watch! I've been highlighting my hair with a cap since the late 70's! I still do, my hair is curly and down to my butt, its takes a while but it always turns out great! If I'm only doing touch-ups I only use and MIX half the package so I get 2 uses for about $14 it cost me well over $100 to have it done! I have figured out how to do face framing, doing more for more blonde in the summer, less for touch-ups. I'm so glad it turned out good for you on the video! BTW I recommend to rinse product out of hair before removing cap and adding condition too if needed! Love your videos! Thanks

igirlgeek: I used to get cap highlights when I was in high school and they turned out well. I think the highlights didn’t contrast too much with my natural hair colour, so it looked more natural. It hurt so much though :/

Natalie Keller: I love how this channel is 95% him saying “this method is bad” at the start and then at the end it always is contradicted

Maddie Shaw: Brad mondo: “you look beautiful today” Me:sitting in a bleach cap cause I don’t know how to do it myself

Beth Ann Zaretsky: Actually at home “frosting” caps were extremely common in the 70s. They went out in the 80s because home perms became more popular. But in the 90s salon highlighting became more popular and affordable so out went the caps.

Southern Sweetie: One year later I am absolutely about to cap highlight my hair!!

Dante: Britney rocked that hair color though, I LOVE her hair in that video. That big chunk of blonde is actually a head band ❤️☺️

Spicy Emo: Brad is literally the hairdresser of my dreams. He seems liked he would really listen to what you want and what you're going for and not just say "mhm" and give you something you don't love. I love all of his videos

Gidgit VonLaRue: I've been doing cap highlights for nearly 20 years - still do it. Key - get a crochet hook from an art shop. Can pull them out fine and looks great!

High Home: This works well on my extremely thick hair so that I dont overprocess. A full foil application on my hair takes like 4 hours and I always end up with damage. I prefer this way

AmberLynn: Quick question for anyone that knows, when doing cap highlights should you or can you back comb the hair? Or does it depend on the look your trying to achieve?

Stephanie Dayrit: I'm dying at how good that looks. I will never bleach my own hair, but if I had a friend that knew how to pluck the hair through that cap than I just might.

Francesca: I love how he’s never negatively judgmental, he’s always like oh that doesn’t look bad I was wrong my bad you look stunning

Kathy Weston: I had my first cap highlighting in the 70’s My first foil highlight was done in early 1980’s when it was just coming in to replace the cap highlighting.

Blank Slate: Brad is my FAVORITE YouTuber so kind so fun and interesting overall love you brad

MEG: Used to do this way back when! Hair was hooked from top of cap and work your way down (not from down upwards). Hair rinsed before removing cap. Crochet hook works well too.

laura Tafur: @bradmondo , I totally would ! The first time I got highlights in hs about 5 years ago I got cap hi lights and I loved it ! Mind you I am Latina and have dark long hair and it came out great This is also when ombré hair was about to become a thing and I like the how “natural “ the highlights looked though out I like how not even it was with thither feather parts and then one bigger obvious lighter piece it was awesome and painless and quick for my long hair, since it was my first time dying my hair it lifted so great and ! I am guessing they used toner maybe and I had these ashy hi lights all thought out and I loved it !

Christine Downey: “I don’t want you to get ideas” I literally already have a cap on my head

Ten Lamps: I'm a stylist. I have a couple clients I use this on. Works good on short hair. And makes it easy to tone

Amy K: I'm blond and my hair gets mousy over winter. I do cap highlighting. It looks awesome.i take the front tiny bit of the edge out before I start so you don't see where it starts. It looks awesome. People compliment my hair and I tell them I did it with a cap and they die laughing. How did it come out so good.

Nathalie Garcia: The fact that Brad used a Box highlight yet he still tops over us non-pros.

Mimi Grabner: Brad I am proud of you for giving it a try. Expecaily during Covid-19 people like me can not come and see someone like you. So we got to use what we can use at home.

Jenni Miles: As a professional that still does cap highlights sometimes, there are a few tricks. 1) use caps that are one layer and don’t have premade holes. 2) put the under a dryer for about 10 mins after you pull it through to help shrink the holes around the hair to help with bleed spots 3) use pro hooks, they are smaller and sharper so they don’t make as big of holes And don’t pull off the cap before rinsing out the hair!

Michelle King: I used to get cap highlights in the salon back in the day and I always loved how they turned out.

Angelique Nell: Do any of you ever want to just say, "no, you're beautifull" when Brad greets you

D Price: I've just ordered a silicone cap to do dip dye, and when I started this video I was like "oh no...this was a bad idea" and by the end I'm now like "ayit, this might work"

juliana: nobody: us all looking at the screen with a double chin brad: you. are. so. beautiful. thank you for being here

Macy R: 2019 Brad: I don't like brown hair 2020 Brad: Is suddenly brunette and not even acknowledging it I AM SO SHOOK I'M NOT EVEN A DRAMATIC PERSON AT ALL BUT I LITERALLY CANNOT BREATHE RN I---

Holly Klemm: after i watched the results yes! It looks so beautiful! You popped of sis

DiscoChixify: Brad: “I don’t want you to get ideas” Me: “I was just going to henna my hair, but now I think I need to do at home cap highlights with 10 volume bleach/developer/shampoo/water to brighten it up a little before the henna so it has more depth... ” Brad *literally screaming through the internet*: “GET HELP! PLEASE!”

fairyfly v: Brad: You look absolutely stunning today✨ Me: having a douple chin, laying on my bed, eating chocklate, haven't brushed my hair in days..

Kimberly Hallman: I used to love having it done. Great look depth and contrast. No one does it anymore.

Paige Ammann: Okay, 1. I’m LIVING for this hair color on you! 2. As a stylist, I still use a cap.. only on really short hair when it’s the best way to achieve the blonde they want! (Which is pretty rare. Lol) I personally feel like the highlights from a cap on long hair are too concentrated and there is no rhyme or reason to it! With foil you get to cocktail your foil pattern for each client!

Ivete Miller: Brad, it WORKS!! I was so sad when hairdressers started pulling themselves away from this technique! My hair is dark brown and this was the best highlights I ever had in the 1980’s/1990’s. No one ever got the same amazing results with foils. Never! You just proved it works. It’s the fastest and more efficient way to do highlights! Get back to it! You can perfect it, and it works even better with the rubber caps. They are tighter and more precise. Trust me!

Jenny I: My cosmetology teacher was old school. We were forced to perfect the "cap" before we were introduced to foils, and barely spent 15 minutes on bayliage. I had a lot to learn when I was out on my own

Tonima Trisha: Used several times already it takes time and energy but it looks great

Gwenee LovesLife: I've done cap highlighting over the years. I was in my teens through the 90s, there are BAD cap highlights, and good ones. In the 90s, chunky highlights were a thing... Chunkier, the better. Now it's all about blending. Now I'm blending in grey hair. LOL

Amelia: me: *shoving a soft pretzel bite in my mouth* brad: "you look absolutely stunning today"

Nicole Baxter: Omgosh, you are so funny! Thank you for cheering me up! I just loved it!❤️

stacy lemus: Watching this reminds me of helping my mom pull out the piece of hair from her cap when I was younger lol and also getting highlights like this my freshman year and thinking I was so cool lol

Jenny: Who else just appreciates brad for trying out the things that we r too scared/lazy to try out

Kim McG: She's pleasantly patient... such a good customer AND I was getting cap frostings back in the 80's throughout the 90's.. then they started doing foil highlights...which take FOREVER, and imo, doesnt give you those chunky blonde streaks that I love. I haven't had highlights since Feb.... I think I'm gonna go get me a cap & do it myself! PS... I just found you! Never even heard of you!‍♀️ But you are THE CUTEST most pleasant hairdresser I've seen on youtube!! WOW! I just subbed!

Tara Poole: Brad: “you look absolutely stunning today” Me: naked and an absolute mess, hair in a bun watching YouTube videos mindlessly eating a bag of lays.

pdx foxx: i did mine today and it turned out great!

Kaitlyn Dawes: You make my day! You are the only person in my life to compliment me everyday! You are a beautiful soul @BradMondo

Yuki: Holy?! I've binged your videos since I found you, but omg this is the first time I see you with darker hair and you look...gorgeous wow.
