My Hair Story - Vonique‏

Vonique is young and just at the start of her hair journey. We wish her the very best of luck!

Are you relaxed, natural, texturized or texlaxed?

Relaxed.

What’s your story, how did you get to where you are?

I’m 14, I had very soft, shoulder length hair up until the age of 11 when I relaxed my hair. It’s still shoulder length, 3 years later! But I don’t think I could go back to natural hair, relaxed hair is easier to style. I am experiencing some breakage at the sides of my hair but apart from that my hair is healthy and fluffy, and actually quite resembles natural hair.

What is your regimen at the moment?

I wash and condition my hair once every 10 days, I use a light weight oil everyday, but I’m not sure about it, it leaves my hair dry sometimes. I hardly ever use heat on my hair and I relax my hair every 8 weeks.

And your favourite product?

A wide soft bristle brush.

What’s your signature style?

Edgy, quite rocky and floaty.

What is the best tip you have learned to protect your ends?

When conditioning, don’t forget to include the ends, always cut split ends and spread a little oil on the ends before bed.
