Easy Wash n’ Go Routine For The Lazy Natural

askproy
Whoever coined the term wash n’ go must have not had the same hair type as most naturals out there. The truth behind the style is that there are about 5 additional steps to do behind the “wash” before you can actually “go”. But what if there was a simpler way?

The traditional wash n’ go typically consists of washing and then defining small sections of your hair by adding a styler plus gel and either finger raking the product through each section or using a tool such as a Denman brush*.

This is then followed by either air drying or, more times than often, using a blow dryer* with a diffuser* attachment. Finally comes the fluffing and positioning each curl the way you desire it to be. Total style time? A good 45 minutes to an hour.

Phylicia Sadsarin, also known as P.Roy, has recently shared her winter wash n’ go routine with her followers which seems to go a bit easier. She recommends completing this process in the shower and you will see why in the video below.

First you will want to start with freshly washed, conditioned and detangled hair. Next add your leave-in and styler all over your soaking wet hair and rake it through. While doing this, don’t worry about sectioning you hair. Just ensure the product is saturating your strands.

After the product is added you just literally shake your hair back and forth which will allow your curls to separate revealing your natural curl pattern. You will then diffuse and air dry and ensure the roots are completely dry.

Lastly, of course, you will just want to fluff and shape your hair to your liking.

P.Roy makes this style look so easy to complete and cuts down on a lot of the styling time. This will be one I will definitely be adding to my list to try!
