What If You Could Prevent Breakage Forever? This Product Might Be The Answer

This might be a little strange but I love reading relaxed hair websites even though I am fully natural. My reasoning is pretty simple, a woman on a healthy relaxed hair journey will have some of the same problems women with fine hair such as myself have on the same journey.

Clearly relaxed hair and fine hair is different because one is chemically processed and one isn’t. However the width of a fine strand and a relaxed strand is the same, both strands need a ton of protein to survive heat, color, or any sort of major manipulation, both are highly susceptible to damage and we are always on the hunt for a great protein based product.

Not to mention if you happen to be relaxed with fine hair, forget it! You need all the strength you can get. With all that said, I came across one of the latest blog posts on the Relaxed Hair Health Blog that was centered around the product Dudley’s Drc 28 Hair Treatment and Fortifier.

I used to use Dudley’s back in the day, I am sure many of you have as well so I was intrigued. The reviews for formula were amazing.

Ranging from having hair that ‘doesn’t ever break’ to having the strongest hair ever after continued use. Look at some of the reviews for yourself, this is one example:

In July of 2011 my hair came out, I’m talking completely to the scalp. It was like having a forehead all the way around you head. I was told that the only thing that would help save my hair was a protein product called DRC28. I went online I found it and within 5 days I was getting my protein treatment. Of course the next question is, whats in it? What makes this protein formula so special in comparison to others? The first thing that must be mentioned is that it is a combination of various proteins while most protein treatments have just one. This one has the following:

Hydrolized Animal Protein, Hydrolized Keratin Protein, Biotin*, Panthenol (vitamin B5), and Hydrolized Glycosanminoglycans

According to the product description the rich formula works from the inside out – nourishing, restoring and repairing severely damaged or weakened hair to a stronger, healthier state. This is revolutionary for those of us on a growth journey because we would be able to retain length rather than lose it to breakage. (Can you tell I am excited?!)

The directions

Shampoo and rinse the hair. Towel blot to remove excess water. Fill an applicator bottle* with 1/2 to 2 oz. of Dudley’s DRC 28*. Saturate each strand of hair thoroughly.

Place cotton along the hairline to prevent dripping. Cover hair with a plastic cap and put client under a warm pre-heated dryer for 15 minutes (no heat before curl chemical applications). Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water and towel blot. Use a conditioner afterwards.

It has always been my practice to use a moisture based conditioner after any protein treatment to keep the hair soft and to add moisture back to your hair, so I highly recommend deep conditioning* with a moisturizer after.

Personally I think this product is well worth the money and worth a try if you are experiencing extreme breakage, if you have color treated hair, if you are relaxed or have fine fragile strands.
