This TODAY Show Hair Style Fail Had Us All Shaking Our Heads

The TODAY show got roasted yesterday when they introduced a 60-minute style segment that included a diverse group of women on a panel.

The stylist who is beauty expert Deepica Mutyala was demonstrating ‘trendy styles’ that any woman would be able to do quickly during the Summer under a variety of circumstances.

If you watch the entire segment the stylist was not that great, to be honest, but when she got to the black woman, the style she created was horrendous.

Of all the styles the black lady was definitely “made under” the worse and even though the styles were not meant to be perfect, there is a certain finesse that comes with making a “messy look” work.

If we were to be even a little bit sympathetic maybe she was nervous about meeting the 60-second limit or maybe it was just hard working without a mirror but who am I kidding, she is a professional on live TV!

If I were to make any sort of suggestion to the stylist it would be to have had some bobby pins* on the side for flyaways.

Leave the twists in the front that the model had which were perfectly fine and gently pull them without pulling them apart so that it looks like you did something.

For the ponytail, it doesn’t matter if it was high or low, ponytails are always on trend so do a low ponytail again leaving the texture she already had in place. That is literally a 40-second style, you could have added a few accessories to make it cute and you are done.

The trouble is, it was clear the stylist was not used to working with afro textured hair and when she tried to get it to behave as we do every day it rebelled. I feel bad for the poor model but this will all blow over soon! Not today though! (Pun intended)
