We have been in this business a long time, so noticing trends are almost second nature for us. These days we have noticed a shift in the priorities of our followers. Women still want longer hair ultimately but healthy hair and overall satisfaction with the place they are in with their hair seems to be a number one in priority.

These days I think women are paying more attention to product choices, to healthy hair practices and overall hair satisfaction. With that said in this post, I wanted to give you some pointers to help with the process of hair growth.

Here are 4 healthy hair practices you must focus on if you want longer hair.

1. Focus on your overall health

If someone gives you advice about getting growing your hair out and they do not mention anything about eating healthy and staying active then you might need a second opinion.

Hair growth is 99.9% dependent on what you eat and eating healthy is what healthy hair growth is dependent on. Foods that help the hair grow include Salmon, Avocados, healthy nuts, and water indirectly.

2. Maintain your ends

Getting a trim might seem counterproductive to your growth goals but we assure you trimming your hair is just as important as caring for your scalp. Curly hair has the tendency to knot and tangle easily and these knots cause splits, cause the ends to thin creating even more tangles.

If you are on a growth journey keep your ends in tip top shape so that your hair can be healthy from root to tip as it grows out.

3. Use quality products

It is the opinion of many that there are products on our beauty shelves that do not have our best interest at heart. There is also the opinion that they are designed to feel great on our hair initially but then cause a ton of problems later on during the week or during the month.

The key to choosing quality products for your hair is the ingredient list! The more words you can read and understand the better the product. You want to know exactly what you are putting in your hair to maintain it or you will find yourself not retaining the length you grow.

4. Be consistent

Once you determine what works for you it is so important to stick with your regimen. This means deep conditioning* every single week and if you miss your ‘day’, do it the next day or the day after that. If finger detangling works for your hair then keep at it.

You can actually train your hair to grow consistently if you yourself remain consistent with great hair practices. What are your tried and true methods to great growth and great retention? Comment below!
