Low Criss Crossed Bun – Grown and Sexy Holiday Hair

The holidays are here!  We hear Christmas songs in department stores and pretty lights are already on some houses (I know some were from last year, they just didn’t remove them!) and lawns.

We’ve made it past Thanksgiving, Black Friday and even past Cyber Monday. Holiday parties at work and with family and friends will be coming along soon as well as colder temperatures and dryer weather.

Many naturals find themselves scurrying around looking for ways to protect their hair from the elements but we still wanna be cute, right? Right!

So what’s a natural to do when she has limited styles due to her hair length? Now that my hair has gotten longer and I can put it into a low ponytail, I find myself wearing that style more and more for several reasons.

► It feels good to make a ponytail when you have severe shrinkage.

► By keeping the ponytail in for a few hours, I can achieve stretched hair through ponytail banding.

► When I take out the ponytail when it is 90% dry, my hair has movement!

For all of these reasons I have been using the ponytail A LOT but it’s not a classy look. It’s a functional look or even a bad hair day remedy look, but pretty….it is not!

I wanna look sexy, sophisticated and stunning when I step out with hubby for holiday parties. I was rescued from my dilemma when I came across MahoganyCurls’ video on a holiday criss crossed bun.

A low bun done right is about as classy as it gets and I had to be reminded of that. I’m halfway there with my low ponytail so I’m more than ready to try this protective style.

Even though my hair is not nearly as long as hers I can still rock a smaller crossed bun that will have me looking grown and sexy for the holiday festivities!
