Introduce yourself and which salon if any you work at…

Being a stylist has always been my dream from a small child on up. My goal is to bring out the beauty in my clients and motivate them to put aside all the worries and everyday life struggles for a few hours and allow themselves to enjoy being a “Woman”. I am currently located at Hair Connections at 1926 Stonerose Dr. Rocky Mount, N. C.

How long have you worked as a licensed cosmetologist (or equivalent in your country) and where did you study?

Been licensed since February of 2011 and studied cosmetology at Sherril’s Barber & Cosmetology in 1999-2001. Also studied at Miller- Motte Technical College in 2009-2010.

What is your specialty, relaxed, natural hair, locs or anything special?

I specialize in everything that is considered in the field of cosmetology, except braids with extentions.

What in your opinion is the most rewarding thing about working as a hair stylist?

I am pleased and love to satisfy my clients with styles that suits their personalities and lifestyles.

When you meet that customer that has not had a great experience with a previous stylist, how do you make them comfortable while in your chair?

I always present a skeptical client with my portfolio. My many talents speaks for itself and the majority of my clients are very pleased.

If you could change one thing about the cosmetology industry what would that be?

I would love to see more professional stylist working together when it comes to educating each other. There is no end to knowledge and we should be more willing to offer what we know to help build our industry instead of keeping it all to ourselves!!!

Where do you see yourself a few years from now, what are your goals as a stylist?

I would love to give back to upcoming stylist by becoming an educator or instructor.

How do you stay motivated and on top of your game?

By learning all that I can about the industry, reading magazines, going to classes, watching videos, networking through social media, etc…
