Sultry Summer Curls On Texlaxed Or Relaxed Hair

hqdefault

We have had a few requests to feature some videos and styles that are relaxed or texlaxed. Truth be told we get alot of love from our naturals, but we never forget about our relaxed ladies – and so when we find a super cute style, we don’t mind sharing at all. Happyhairshow texlaxes her hair, and what that means is it’s just a relaxer that is not left on your hair as long as a regular relaxer. In essence your hair is not bone straight, but it has a little bit of texture to it.

One of the things I like about this YouTuber is how she cares for her hair. Happyhairshow focuses on the needs of her strands because when you are relaxed, your hair needs more of everything: more protein, more moisture, and less of a few things such as direct heat (most important on the list).

Caring for your relaxed hair really is a no brainer once you ‘get’ your hair. We always suggest getting to know your hair as much as you can, regardless if you are relaxed or natural. Over the years as I have learned more about hair care, and my own hair, I understand what every ingredient in each product does to my hair in any given state – which is one of the secrets to healthy hair.

Now about that style

These are wand curls which do involve heat, so we would suggest getting a great heat protectant* to get it done. One thing to make note of is that she went from washing and drying to the wand – no flat iron* if you really want to cut down on the heat. We would suggest air drying over night in braids to get your hair semi straight, and then using the wand. The wand will add curls anyway, so you don’t have to worry about having your hair bone straight without texture.

Finally, we concur with using great healthy products on your hair especially for a special style. You want to make sure your hair is light and fluffy and has some movement, so pick moisturizers and holding products which are light and allow your hair to breath. Personally, I thought she used way too much spray at the end, but that’s just me.
