Hi Guys! We are back with another video I took this week off to spend time with the family and celebrate Zaid's 8th birthday! Now we are back with another synthetic wig tutorial! Today we are covering how to fix permatease in a wig. A lot of synthetic wigs have permatease. Permatease wigs add volume to your hair. However, this isn't always a good thing. If bangs are permateased then it can cause the bangs to look fake. So this wig tutorial is up there with the "how to make a wig look natural" section. People always ask me how to fix bangs on synthetic wigs. Usually, synthetic wigs with bangs have permatease. Today, we are going to fix that. Let's gets our wig hacks on today and figure this out.

Hi guys today we're talking about how to get rid of permateasing in bangs all right. So i'm going to come on here today and i wanted to talk to you guys about how you can remove the permateasing in your wigs. So permateasing is something that they love to put in synthetic wig bangs, to help give it some more volume and just a little bit more lift at the root. Essentially, what it's very similar to is, when you back comb your hair with like a rat tail comb and you kind of take it and you brush the hair back like back combing to like give it like this kind of matted up kind of rat's nest. Looking situation, but it gives you volume at the root and that's essentially what a lot of these synthetic wig bangs have to help give them that volume and a lot of times. You don't want it in there. It might add some really weird poofiness. It might make them look more thick than you want them to. It also feels a little scratchy and you can really see it if you're trying to like almost take a wig and do like a curtain, bang situation. If you have a lot of permatease in here, you can really see it all when you pull the bangs apart. So i really wanted to show you today a very, very easy and simple way to minimize and remove permateasing in wigs before we get into that. I want to go over a couple things with you guys. First, if you are new to my channel, don't forget to subscribe, make sure you hit that notification bell to get notifications on all the videos i do in my in the future and give me a like i'd really appreciate it guys, i'm going to be doing a Huge wig giveaway when i get to 5 000 um subscribers, because that's our goal for this year so make sure you subscribe. Let youtube know that you, like my channel and that way it lets. Other people know that they should watch my channel too. So you're only going to need a couple things to do this rat tail comb or a very thin fine-tooth comb. We'Re going to be using this to kind of brush out the permateasing before we do the final step, which is we're going to be taking a heating, straightening brush or hot comb or whatever you have. I really recommend something like this versus the flat iron because we really want to brush through the fibers, to get rid of the permateasing and with the flat iron you're, not really gon na be able to do that. You'Re really just gon na be pressing them together. So i really recommend a hot comb or something like this, so what you're going to want to do is you're going to want to first go through and find the area that has the permateasing. This wig right here doesn't have a ton of permateasing to it, but it does have some right here at the root, so i'm going to go ahead and be taking my brush, and i first want to really just brush that permateasing out as much as possible. There'S a couple reasons for this one: it helps get rid of some of that poofiness, because it's going to help break down that matting and two. It'S also going to make it a lot easier for us to get our wig brush our heating brush through once we're ready to do that step. So you really just want to give this a really good brush through. So now you can really see here. It almost looks like it's burnt or fried, or just really rough feeling, and in order to get rid of that, we're going to take our heat to it. We'Re going to essentially repair the fibers of the wig like we would, if for the ends, were damaged, but for this case the roots are damaged. So we're going to go ahead and take our heat here, and you want to get as close to the root as possible. That'S also, why, like a hot comb like a true hot comb, is probably the best for this, because you can really get right up to the scalp, but you want to get as close as you can, the closer you can get the more you get more of This you can get rid of and the flatter it's going to help it look and we're just going to be taking this, and sometimes i like to take it. If i feel like, i can get a little bit better reach for it underneath and kind of just get in there, you don't necessarily if you like the curl that the bottom of the bangs have you don't have to bring the brush all the way through it. You can really just kind of stop it halfway if you don't want to mess up the ends, but otherwise you can brush it all the way through. It'S not going to do any damage to the wig just make sure if you are doing this to a bang. Synthetic wig - i say this every time if you're playing with heat with your wigs, make sure your wig is heat safe. First, if it is not it's going to melt the bangs right off, you won't have the bang problem anymore, because they won't be there but you're going to have a whole nother mess that you're going to have to figure out so make sure your wig is heat. Safe before you put heat to it and also find out how heat safe, it is, what temperature can it go up to? You don't need this to be super hot, to do what we're doing um, but you want to know you know if you can't go past 250 can't go past 300, whatever it might be, make sure you know that about the way before you start working on it And you can really see a difference. You'Re gon na see visually see a difference as you're doing this, and that's really how you know it's working you're going to start seeing it look smoother, laying flatter you're going to see less and less of that knotting and matting, because this is essentially slowly just kind Of repairing this now, i'm not going to say you're getting rid of 100 of it because you probably aren't unless, like i said, you have a really awesome hot comb, you can get super close this i might be able to get all the way to you know The weft of it so i know i'm going to miss a little bit of it, but i'm just going to try to get as much as i can and that's really the goal here. I'Ve gotten it really well and then again i'll flip it up this way and i'll do the underneath too, because you're going to have permateasing on this underneath area and then brush these bangs back out and it's going to look a lot flatter a lot smoother and If you take it and you decide, you want to part the middle here, you're not going to see all that matting and like knotted rats nest situation. So that's really really how you do it. It'S super easy. I'M going to show you on another wig! That'S pretty much all completely permateased, just to really show you more of a drastic difference and then we can kind of wrap up and we'll be done. So it's really easy quick fix to a problem that i know a lot of people ask me about and i'm like hey, you just have to do two steps and you're good to go. So this right here is patty and she's pretty much permateased around her whole entire whole entire head. So i figured she was a good one to really work on a section to show you guys difference of before and after so i'm gon na take my brush and i'm gon na brush out i'm going to go ahead and kind of act like she has a Part because she does not have a part we're going to go ahead and just kind of parter a little bit, so we can really see the difference between one side and the other, and the first thing i'm going to do is i'll brush out this side. This is the side that we're going to kind of reduce the permateasing on, and she has so much permatease in that she's, not she's permateased on the top layer. The whole thing that's kind of just how she has her volume and how she gets her um oomph and her proof and her style first thing we're doing like i said we're brushing this out. You can already see a big difference in the way that this wig looks just by doing this. It just kind of flattens it out a little bit more helps make it look a little bit smoother less crazy and we're going to go ahead and we're going to run it through, and this is really going to just kind of repair. The permateasing that's been done and kind of help flatten it out, so we're just brushing this out and down. So we can make sure we get all this and then we're gon na bring it back to the side and again we made sure she was heat safe before we put heat on her. I know i say that you guys all the time, but i just get so nervous that someone's gon na ruin their wig and then they're gon na be sad and i'm gon na be sad for you, i kind of went over to the other side. I should have done that, but i just want to show you guys kind of the difference between the two here. This side is the side that we did obviously right here. It still has some of the permateasing underneath, but it just looks smoother and sleeker up top. It'S not as crazy looking, whereas here you still have a lot of this permateasing and frizz happening, and we can still get volume out of this side because we left some of it underneath, but it's just looks just looks smoother and nicer. So that's another more drastic example of how you can remove permateasing with this method of the straightening brush and just brushing it out with a comb. So i hope that was helpful for you guys like i said this is a quick, easy, simple kind of tutorial, but i really just wanted to show you guys this, because i get asked this a lot more than you would think about how to kind of get Rid of that permateasing in bangs in particular, so i wanted to just show you real quickly, so you guys could get a visual on how exactly to do it with probably everything you already have at home. If you liked this video, give me a like i'd, really appreciate it guys. Thank you so much for watching, like i said in the beginning of the video, if you're new to my channel, don't forget to subscribe, we're having a huge giveaway when we hit 5 000 subscribers and make sure you hit that notification bell to get notifications on all The videos i do in the future - i hope you guys enjoyed this video and i will see you on the next one.

Brenda Reptke: OMG thank you!!! I have an Amazon wig with a ton of permateasing on the curtain bangs and I couldn't wear it and didn't know what to do with it. I did a strand test and it was heat safe so I went for it. Now I need to be brave enough to cut the bangs lol. Wish me luck

Sylvia S: Thank you so much! I’m new to wigs and was having a hard time with this..

Von: I used a blow dryer in the past to the bangs of one of my synthetic wigs, just on the bangs and it shrunk like a shrinky dink, lol! I was so mad being I had just gotten this wig and tore off the tabs and threw it out before I could read if it was heat safe! It was a pretty wig too! Anyways, thx 4 sharing! P.S. to answer your question. I started losing my hair when I was 19 went from doctor to doctor and never really knew the reason and just labeled me as having alopecia now at 52 I wear full wigs real and synthetic.

Michelle Casey: Super easy fix! Thanks

OMGriss: I bought my first synthetic wig with bangs & I'm having the opposite issue. The bangs are flat & I'd like to add some volume to them. Do you happen to have any tips or tricks to achieve that?^^

Love is Blonde: I started wearing wigs 2 years ago at 59 when my hair started thinning for an unknown reason. Initially, I wanted to try toppers, but they were too expensive, so I bought a couple of wigs. I have not looked back! My bio hair is completely gray and frizzy. I'm not a big fan of permatease so I will try your tips!

Kathleen McKeithen: Thank you, Jesse. I recently purchased a wig with really thick bangs and the permatease in it is way too much. It is just a regular synthetic wig by Rene of Paris. I like the style, but can't stand how the permatease shows up at the top of the bangs. Do you think the hot brush made for synthetic hair would work using the method you showed in this video? As for the reason I have recently begun to wear wigs is that I am experiencing alopecia which began happening slowly (at first) a little over 3 years ago. I am almost 73 so I suppose it's my age.....So sad because I was blessed with beautiful hair. Oh, well, than goodness for wigs!!! :)

Mar Arellano: I really love your videos and your short blond wig The other one is cute to Jesse can you make a traditional wig with fringe? Could you make a video like that?

Fleming.gt79: I just ordered blonde Adalyn. Is she heat safe and to what temp? Thanks. Love your channel!!

Page Smelser: Just found this video…. Loved it

KAT TheVampire: Late answer here. I am new-ish to be wigs. Lymphoma patient and I lost my hair due to chemo. I’m in “remission” at the moment, so I have a lot of fun with my wigs and head wraps. Now that it’s getting cooler here I’m able to wear the wigs more. Found you through Emo Wigs For Everyone Facebook group. More than you wanted to know I’m sure!

Pasithea Thanatos ASMR: OMFG I HAVE BEEN SEARCHING FOR THIS VIDEO FOR YEARS BUT DIDN’T KNOW WHAT MY PROBLEM WAS THANK YOU❤️‍❤️‍❤️‍

Mathias Olsson: I’m using my wig when i do drag or experiment with different styles!

Misty Rain: A close up view of the permatease with before and after pics could be most helpful.

Jenny Lee: A hot straighter is better. Or an actual iron. You have to LITERALLY press it AT THE ROOT so what I do is comb it, like you did-get a bath towel and stuff it inside the wig and then press the roots of the wig between an iron and towel. Heres the most important part about shaping synthetic hair- once you iron/flatten that permatease HOLD IT FLAT while it cools. Once it cools in that shape it wont move

Pasithea Thanatos ASMR: Do you/can you thin the bangs as well? If so would it be a weft removal situation or thinning shears situation?

Michaela Kenworthy: Great video! Thanks for sharing this.. would you mind sharing the details of the wig you’re wearing, please? It’s simply stunning on you.

hipretty: Thank you! ☺️

T Simon: Would you show/tell how to thin out a really curly wig with lots of permatease?

Mathias Olsson: THANK YOU

Jill H: Does the permatease come back when you wash the wig?

Stanley Marcellus Simons: Another good video!

Kim Canfield: Another great video Jesse!

Vicky White: Good video. ❤️

just JESSA: ooh i never clicked so fast ❤️ Thank you! I will be ordering a hot comb soon, any recommendations on an affordable one to try? (but is also a descent one). And also what is the red wigs name? and is the link in the description for the red wig? I tried to find it on that site but dont see it. Thanx Jesse for all your help!

Sheryl Wanlass: Anything you can do on a non heat wig, permatease?

dizzyk54: Thanks for this info!!....Vicki

Paula Reilly: I tried to comb out (synthetic heat safe)permatease before but it was just broken off short hair, and poofier because broken strands at the root.. I dont understand what you mean by repair?

Mechelle McGuire: Do you have a hot comb you recommend. I mostly started wearing wigs for fun and because I hate my fine thin hair

Green eyed Blondee: I'm so freaken happy I found your channel. U

Rachel Jenkins: Jesse just like the Bob blonde you have on in which the front ends curl right under each side of the throat..What procedure would you use in order to get a blunt cut instead? if that inquiry makes any sense..lol

Life by the C After Stroke: Do u have a video to get rid of permateese in synthetic wig. (Estetica FINN). Use thinning shears?

Ruffled Feathers: Hi, what is the hair color for this wig?

Brenda Miller: awesome

The Merz: Thanks

Hennessy Pierce: KESHA IS THAT YOUUUU

Kelly Green: I have alopecia areata

Hennessy Pierce: Lol y’all look sm alike
