Hey everyone welcome back to the brilliant beauty, it's Jody and today we're gon na learn how to make a wig together. So I hope you enjoy don't forget to subscribe, so for this tutorial I'll be using a 4 by 4 lace, closure and 4 bundles of Brazilian straight hair be sure to check out my proper hair tutorial. If you want your hair at this color, I just uploaded it, so you need a wig head with the same circumference as your head. Mine is about 22 and a wig stand. You also need a wig cap. My fav is the mesh dome cap with stretch which also comes in an extra large if you need it bigger and, of course, needle and thread. This is a sea needle all the items I use will be in one place in my Amazon store, so I'll link. It below alright, let's get started step 1, so your closure or your lace, frontal down if you have one, pull all the hairs out of the way with a rubber band and pin the closure into place on your wig cap. Using T pins like this now take your needle and thread and sew the back of the closure down on the wig cap. I will sew the back and the sides down separately so that my closure stays where I put it, but for now just focus on sewing. The back down as close to the edge as possible, now sew down the sides of the closure. Whenever you finish sewing cut off the excess thread, tie a knot to secure and cut okay. Now that our closure is in place, we know exactly where we want everything to be perfect step to begin sewing your bundles onto your wig cap, starting in the back. I first Pierce the needle through the wedding and then through the cap just to get a secure base going. Then I loop around the wedding throughout the rest, remember to never put the needle through the elastic around the cap. Your cap may not be stretching anymore once you're done. If you do that, and then your wig may not fit correctly, you guys will notice that I just do the simplest sewing technique. Just looping the thread around the weft, nothing special. I just make sure I pulled tightly and I'm good now when I'm ready to sew another row of hair. I grab the same bundle that I'm working on flip it over and continue sewing the hair, and this is how I minimize shedding on my wig but not cutting any of my bundles until it's absolutely necessary. It may take you a while to get a hang of it, but even I when I haven't made a wig in a while, I need a little bit of practice before I can start sewing really fast. So just take your time, don't rush the process make sure you're comfortable first, so y'all see how awkward this can be, especially when you're, left-handed and you're sewing the other way and you have to sew backwards. Sometimes the trick is to always find a comfortable position and when I finish my thread again, I knot it and clip the excess. So to save a lot of time, you can definitely have a lot of pre threaded needles on hand. This is how I add one bundle on to the next on the wig cap. I just grab the hair and continue sewing right where I left off, and here's two bundles of my four installed very closer together. If you have less bundles, you can leave a little bit more space in between the tracks, alright guys. So once I've installed about half of my hair by doubling the wefts, I use a single track for the rest of my sewing. So, as a rule of thumb, I double the weft in the back single in the front double in the back single in the front, a double and in case you guys are wondering whether to sew over the wefts or under it really does not matter. You guys. Just do what's comfortable for you also, as I get closer to my closure, where my wig will lay near my temples. I stop doubling up on the hair and I also cut the track when I get to the edge of the cap, so this makes my wig like extra flat in the front, so I'm definitely cutting my weft up as it goes to the front. So he could lay flat and seamless as we get to our very last piece of hair. You want to make sure you blend it in with the closure by sewing the hair around the very edges of the closure, and that also makes the hair lay flat. And if you have hair left over just fill in the gaps that you think can use a little more hair step, three cut off the excess cap. Since we have a lace closure, we want to turn the cap over and cut out the u-shape where the closure already is, and here's the inside of our wig. Our hard work has definitely paid off now. Step four is to style your hair first we're gon na flat iron. The hair then cut off the extra lace in the front. Then we're going to cut some layers in the hair to layer. My hair, I use a razor comb which is super cheap. I get it from my local beauty supply. I just use it to frame my face. I'M not really gon na cut off too much of my length Step, five, which is optional but definitely recommended by me. I install wig combs or an elastic band. On my wigs. I get these from Amazon, which I'll link below combs help my wigs stay secure and lay flat. I install two combs on each side, none in the back because they're uncomfortable. I also never use all of the combs at once. I use wigs as a protective style. Personally, so whenever the combs start to bother me, I just take them out. You can also use an elastic band in the back to keep your wig secure instead of the combs all right, guys, last step so step 6 prepare your hair for your wig and then put it on so I'll. Take you through my process. So my natural hair is braided down with a part in the middle, and I do have a wig cap on I'm gon na slick, my edges down and this time I'm not trying to use any gel. I'M gon na use curl cream for a Marc Anthony and my leftover aloe vera, gel that I use for my skin care. Then I tie my hair down for about 5 minutes to set it now. The only thing left to do is to put my wig on. I put the combs into my braids and I make sure they're comfortable and my wig is laying flat if I need a little extra help. I put some eyeshadow on my part to help blend with my wig cap. I like this over concealer because it just gives a more a natural look. It blends in with the lace and it doesn't look like a thick layer of product. Then I use a little mousse over my closure to get that hump down a little bit. I love a lot of body moves lately. Okay, one last thing guys: I promise you know how I like my long hair straight and super flat. It'S just my look. I understand that some of you, like more volume, so an optional step you can do - is to go in with some route. Volumizing spray, this one's by topic, and you can bump the roots a little bit to give you like more volume at the roots and here's. The finished product, I swear, you guys I'm ready for anything the wind could blow whatever. I hope you guys enjoyed this detailed video if you want my purple hair check out my tutorial. Thank you guys so much for watching

I am not sure if I want to splurge on human hair yet. Are there any synthetic bundles that you recommend for a beginner wanting to try this method out for a DIY cosplay wig? About how much hair would you need to make a full wig? How can you tell how many bundles you might need? What are the differences in strength that sewing around the wefts give you as opposed to sewing through wefts or gluing? I saw another tutorial that glued the wefts. It seemed less time-consuming, but I felt that it would be messy or fall apart.
