Hey guys today, I'm gon na show you how I made my list at costume. First, I'm gon na start with showing you how I styled the wig. I got this pretty lace front blonde wig from eBay or Amazon. It was a long time ago. So I don't have the same link. He was really affordable and I'll. Add something similar in the description. The wig is pretty long and very full, so I start chopping off some links. I also cut upwards with my scissors to thin out the hair. I do this throughout the wig and cut off chunks of hair. I also add some layers in the front for the bangs in other areas. Then I snip some hair shorter near the ear to create the illusion of a sideburn. Next, I dampen my hair with a spray bottle full of water. Although the wig arrived kind of curly, I wanted to find some of the curls more and I use a really small curling iron to curl pieces of the hair around the face. Next, I mix some water with some brown acrylic craft paint to thin it out, and I work it into the wig. I do this to add more dimension and color to the wig and make it look more natural. I also brush the paint throughout the hair with a soft bristle comb to make sure it's thoroughly covered. I leave some strands unpainted just to add different shades of blonde throughout the hair. Next, I take a dark brown paint that is not mixed with water and I use a smaller brush to paint it directly to the roots throughout the wig. I taught myself how to do this way back when I played with Barbie dolls as a kid I know some people are hesitant to put paint on their wigs, so I recommend doing a strand test under the bottom of the wig, where you won't see it in Case you mess up. This makes the hair look so much more natural, and I really love doing this to all of my wigs. I go more into detail in my makeup tutorial about how I put on my wig. I will add a link to my making tutorial in the description feel free to check it out. If you want to see how I turn until I stop the vampire and in that tutorial, I also show you how I apply the teeth, and I show you how i did the fingernails now it's time to show you how I made the costume first, I started With the shirt - and I used the simplicity pattern for 9 to 3, when I was done sewing the shirt I wanted to weather it. I did this by dark, washing it in a black paint and water mixture in a big tub. All you do is mix the paint thoroughly with water and make sure there are no clumps, then soak the entire shirt in it. After that, you just take it out and let it dry the pants I just found at the thrift shop and altered them a bit. Any pants in the right color will work, but if you want to sew them there are so many different paint patterns you can choose from and most of them would work fine to alter these. I added seams at the top front of each leg. Then I sewed buttons over those seams. Next, I made a vest from the same pattern. Pack I used to make the shirt. I only slightly altered it on the bottom to make it more accurately shaped for this next scarf wrap. I sewed strips of fabric that I ruffled and folded to each other. One strip goes around my neck and velcro's in the back, and the other strip comes down from the center. It'S nothing fancy, but it really gives a good effect and is easy to put on and take off, which is perfect for cosplay. I also dark-wash this, so it matches the shirt then I just put it on and it velcros in the back. If you didn't know, I'm a big fan of velcro when cosplaying, because it's so simple and easy to get dressed and undressed pretty quickly like when you're in a hurry to get to the con floor, you don't have to waste so much time. Buttoning up your entire vest, you can just velcro it down and I hand stitch all the buttons over the velcro to give the illusion that it buttons up and look at that quick and easy, and it does the job perfectly. Next I put on the code, I made to pull the look together so since this costume was made so long ago, I don't still have the pattern that I used and I don't remember exactly what pattern it was. But I do remember that it was a super basic pajama shirt pattern and I heavily altered it to make it look and fit like a coat. Here'S what it looked like when I first started sewing it and here's what it looked like after I sewed it all together. This was a Yaya Han brocade cosplay fabric. I did want to age it a bit and add a slightly different shade to it. So I went over it with some watered-down greyish turquoise acrylic craft paint when this dries. It also dulls the shine a bit which I really like. Next I'm going to show you how I made the gold trim. So, as some of you know, trim can be very expensive, especially if it's not just basic trim, and I had to make this costume on a really tight budget, because I didn't have a lot of money to spare on this hobby. So what I did was, I went and found the cheapest trim that I could in the right size and it was a ruffle trim. So I cut the edges off to remove the roughly. I also got a smaller trim and I wanted the shape to be a little different. So I cut off some of the edges. Then I went over the off-white trim with a blueish black acrylic craft paint slightly watered down, and I let that dry and when that was dry, I went over it with some gold acrylic craft paint, and I let that dry as well then to make this trim. Not look so cheap and make it more defined. I repainted every detail with black paint. I needed a lot of trim for this jacket because it goes down the entire front of both sides and it's a long jacket. It also goes around the wrist of each sleeve. So, as you can imagine, this was a very long and tedious process, but to me it was so worth it. When I was done painting all of the trim, I pinned it down to the coat after pinning it. I sewed it down here. You can see all the trims sewed on to the coat as you can see, there are a little bit of sparkles in there as well. Those are beads that I hand beaded throughout the entire trim. Another thing that was very time-consuming, but very worth it, especially when you go on stage under all the lights, it's beautiful then I just put on some tall black boots that I found at the thrift store for $ 8.00 and that's pretty much it for the costume. I hope you guys found this tutorial helpful. I hope it showed you that you don't have to have tons of money to make an expensive-looking costume. I also hope it showed you that being creative and trying things that are a little out of the box can lead to some pretty awesome results, so don't be afraid to try things. I will add helpful links to the description below feel free to check out my other makeup and caused by tutorials on my channel. Thank you so much for watching guys, bye,

W Y: Alyson: *puts on a gorgeous gothic jacket inspired by the 1700s* Also Alyson: I used a pajama shirt pattern Seriously, I LOVE your budget friendly cosplay guides/tutorials! mISAVELm: Ha! I thought that I was the only one who left the ugly sewing inside my costumes. I should have probably serged up and maybe I would have been able to sell them. However, I also didn't want to put any more time and effort on something that may have had to be stored or tossed. I would start making about 4 costumes 3 days before (and during) a con. I would sew all night and crash a few hours in the afternoon, then repeat. I haven't cosplayed for 4 years and this year is my last year attending cons, but my Halloween costumes are gonna be better than all my cosplays now. Plus now im picking up some neat tricks! Thanks! :D
