DISCLAIMER:

As a professional stylist, I can’t recommend any drugstore products or recommend anyone to do their own hair at home. Professional Stylists have spent thousands of hours of education on the chemicals and techniques used to do hair. So as a licensed professional I do youtube videos for the purpose of sharing new techniques with people who are either in school or work as a stylist. Too many things can go terribly wrong, so as a liability problem I can only recommend to see a stylist who knows how to use the right products and the correct use of them. Thank you.

Hi guys, I'm back with a another salon tutorial. This one is going to be a little bit different because I'm going to be kind of talking, you guys through three different processes that we did with Tara's hair. The model in this video is actually my friend Tara and my coworker. We work at the same salon together and she has had this incredible um. She looks like blue green hair for a while, and then we transitioned her into a blue route with really vibrant green ends. We used all Pravana, color and she's had this color for about two years, so she's been using a temporary dye for a very long time and now she's decided that she wanted to go silver. So you guys know in the hair. World silver is one of the hardest colors to achieve you have to have a very white canvas. Very clean and removing temporary dyes can be a really big problem and we're both of us. We were like okay, let's experiment, let's try everything that we can do without bleach, because Tara has very fragile fine hair and if we were to go in there and blast it again with bleach, we know that already underneath her hair. It is a white canvas because we've had to bleach her. So if we take bleach over her hair again, it's going to be a very sad story for her hair and as a professional stylist, you don't want to go in and destroy someone's hair. That'S just it's not worth it at all, so we wanted to try to figure out how to get rid of fade, remove temporary color without using bleach. So, like I said, we try to three different processes and I'm going to show you guys exactly how we got from point A all like scoot over for a second and pop up, her color right here so from point A which was her full-on colored hair. To this color, which is basically a blank canvas for doing silver, we still have to go in still a work in progress, but we want to let it rest for a week. So I just wanted to show you guys how to actually remove the color and what steps we took to doing it. So, let's get started by the way I have a little puppy on my lap because of my blurred. She'S gon na be walking all over the place and being noisy so she's sitting on my she's sitting on my lap right now, okay, so the first thing that we did is I actually hopped onto the olaplex forum on a Facebook. You can be a part of this group if you are a professional hair, stylist licensed it is a close group for all stylists and it's really amazing and um I'm on that one, and then I also went on to another one. It'S called like licensed stylist or something I'll say if I can leave the names of them down below, so you can go search on Facebook and, like I said, if you're licensed, they will accept you. So I went on there and was asking like hey. What are you guys, dyed EAA's on how to fade this color out without using bleach and one of the girls on there? Her name is katie. I'M sorry, i could not pronounce your last name, but she has like a special formula that she has come up with that works incredibly to fade colored hair and she has its full on her instagram all kinds of pictures of how she's used this formula to fade. Hair and we wanted to try that out first, so it kind of has a lot of homemade ingredients so um all this stuff on. There is coconut oil, bleach powder, clarifying shampoo and olive oil and then a white vinegar. So there's a full formula on how to do it that i show in this video and i'm going to hop over to us actually doing it in the salon and kind of like what the results were. So this is the first thing that we tried and we saw a lot of faded happen. It was a significant amount, amazing. Her help her hair felt completely amazing. Afterwards, there was no weird feelings to or anything - and we saw a good amount of faded didn't come all the way out, because I believe Katie says that it takes a number of times to be able to do this um. But we were hoping for something. A little bit more and it just wasn't quite there, so I will go through and I'll hop over to the actual salon. Footage of me doing it, so you guys can see the process and what we did to get that faded, so trying to figure out how to do Terra's, haircolor remover, our first experiment experiment is from Katie. She swears by this and if you guys go on her Instagram or like on the olaplex website, I'm sorry on the olaplex forum on Facebook. She has a whole bunch of pictures of this working super successfully. So we are following this right here and I will put this in the bottom of the video so that you guys can see exactly what it is, but this is her instruction. So Tara is following this exactly so we have everything mixed up in this bowl to her specifications on the instructions and we are going to go. Try it out. There has a whole bunch of I mean look at how much look at how much olive oil Tara has in her hair. It'S like dripping weight.this in olive oil. It'S coconut, coconut oil, coconut oil, don't listen to me! Follow the instruction! So after we mixed everything up, we went and took her to the shampoo bowl, and I just applied this all over her hair, where her color was follow the instruction guys, if you guys, want to try out this fading treatment. I will have it like. I said listed down below and she has it written out exactly how to do it in everything. So that is all the steps that we took. Then we put a bag on it and then put her under the dryer for the appropriate amount of time. That Katie specifies so I just threw her under the dryer and then waited for the color to fade, and we kind of just watched it as it went and then, as soon as that time was up, we took her to the bowl and shampooed her. Then we rinsed all of that out, towel dried it and then applied the white vinegar to her hair and a smelled really really bad. But that was a last part of the steps to Katie's formula, so you can see on the left it's definitely brighter and on the right it is a little bit faded, but there is not a ton of a difference there, so that worked and it helped to Fade it out, but not quite enough, so we want to try something else. We went in, and some people say that the Pravana color extractor works really well, so we're like okay, even though we know that it only removes oxidative dyes, temporary diets live on the outside of your cuticle. So they're saying your cuticle, we're not actually going in to your cuticle, so oxidative diets are the kind that actually go into a cuticle using a either ammonia or something like that to push it into your hair so because it is off state of dye. Theoretically, it's not supposed to remove the color, but some people say it does some people say that it doesn't so we just decided, let's try it on here. I also tried on another one of my clients, Ashley and both times. I mean I record over it, but there was no point in showing you both times. There was no movement in the color whatsoever. It did not fade at all. It did not come out whatsoever, so from now on, I know Pravana color extractor is not going to be one of the things that I do. It just does not work um. So that is that, for me, it does not work for you at may, but for me I need something that I can depend on, so it would be awesome if it did, but it did it. This last thing that we did is the lifesaver. It is the most incredible thing: Tara and I are like so freakin stoked about it, and it just makes us so happy that we tried it out. I'Ve been seeing some people use this product, and I personally have never tried it before. So it's great to go in and try new things and see how things work and a great person to try it on is one of your co-workers for, if you're using it for the first time. So I definitely don't recommend you to try it on your client. The first time, unless it's someone that you know and you're like hey, let's just try this product out. It'S new! Something like that. Otherwise get a mannequin get a hair. Swatch get a friend! Something like that to try it out on so Tara weten got from Cosmo Prof the Malibu DDL. It is a direct dye, lift it's a little packet. I will throw up a picture right here of what it looks like. So it's a little packet and you follow the instructions on the back. Don'T do what I say just follow the instructions on the back, because I can't remember all of it. It'S very easy. You just empty the packet. I think it's about either like 1/4 of an ounce or something like that or half an ounce. You dump that into your bowl in a nonmetallic mixing bowl, then you add either a 10 or 20 volume developer and you add 3 ounces of that, and then you mix it all together and it kind of is like these little crystals that absorb and turn into. Like this really fluffy, almost like creamy batter, feel and what you do, is you apply this to the hair? You can leave it on for up to 45 minutes and you can process it under heat. So what we did, I didn't show everything in that process, because I didn't go to the salon with my camera that day, so I just had my phone so I'll show you guys a little bit about process but um we tried to on her hair. So we did it the first time and you guys can see it faded so much so we did two processes that one day so we went and we applied this to her hair capped it away from her roots, because it is a little bit of a lifting Product, so you don't want to put it on natural roots. You just want to put it on the color that you're trying to remove out of the hair, so we applied it to UM her hair, where her color was put a bag on it. Put her under the dryer for 45 minutes and then we shampooed out really really good and when you saw incredible like results from it's real, like okay, let's do another one. We just did two. I would recommend you to assess your clients, hair and integrity of their hair before you start to do multiple treatments of anything, whether it's color removers. Anything like that. You have to use your professional, like integrity, meter in your head to say: okay how's, the integrity of this hair is it you know gon na break off, and it's going to be terrible or what so you have to use your you know little noggin to make Sure that you're keeping your clients, hair, nice and safe and protected um hi in sight. I should have continued a minute because continuum could have helped to protect the hair and then we could have done this stuff too afterwards to help. But we just didn't do that. We thought about it afterwards in real life, haha, okay, next time, we're gon na add a continue into the mix, but that's another thing. So we did. It once saw the fade, äj -- and did a second time and guys like this is incredible. Before and after of fading and how much it took out of the hair, we were blown away. She came into the room, she was like look, I'm blond. I was like okay you're, not quite there yet, but so what we did is because we wanted to wait. Her here, having a little bit of softness to it, like I said, tara, has very fun, fragile, hair, so her hair, it had a slight bit of softness, the cuticle not to where you're going to be thinking. Oh, this is like damaging nothing like that. Like her hair feels incredible today, we just did it on what's today: okay, so today's Wednesday that I actually am filming this and I did her hair on Tuesday, oh so yesterday, so I felt Margo today felt absolutely amazing, like so soft and incredible. So there wasn't any um like sogginess or smush enos to her ends or anything like that. So we toned it a little bit up a shampoo bowl because she did have a teeny tiny bit like greenish hue left in her hair. Her roots were a little bit. Warm so I told her roots with 90 by red, constrains EQ and then her ends. I did nine RB because pink can help to counteract greens sometimes, and then we put a 9p over that to help kind of get it to a better canvas. So she's going to wait until next week because next week we're going to go in and do her silver color. So we just wanted to give it time to kind of close the cuticles on everything like that. But for the purpose of this video guys, the Malibu DDL, like direct eye, lift, is heaven-sent. I wish I would have had this when I did my purple hair I wish I would have had. I wish I would have had to continue them and I wish I would have had DDL, because that stuff would have been a lifesaver not having to put bleach on the hair. So I highly recommend you to try out Malibu DDL, and I know that, probably for some color products it's going to work better than others and it depends on you know how long your client has been using this color in in their hair, and things like that. So everything is kind of a factor, but I highly recommend you to try out a DDL before you try out putting bleach on the hair because, like I said, we would have done that to tear his hair. She would have had it no hair. She would have had like like inch long hair and that's it because it was so processed. So we are so stoked with that result and we wanted to share that with you. Guys are finding. So I'm trying three different processes and three different kind of ideas of what people say and what really worked for us in the salon to see really good results, because everyone's always asking and I always see, pictures getting posted and I feel like it was great for Us to be able to go in and try everything out and see what really works, especially for someone that's been doing it for two whole years. So if you guys have any comments or anything that you guys wanted to add - and you guys have used this before and either love it or you have any tips for it. Please add it in the comments below. Thank you so so much for watching, and we will see you guys in the next video bye. You

Alma Mater: useful stuff starts at 8:15 unless you enjoy the talking hope I helped

Jessica Kellems: This says no bleach but it has bleach powder in it

mzmiz0: Usually takes more than 1 of Katie's Fading Treatments to really see color get pulled out. And different colors/brands can be harder (or easier) to fade. Also depends on the level of fading that's happened over time. Best course: overnight coconut oil or argan oil, next day add more oil, wait 2 hours, do Katie's Fading Treatment. Then for the next week do overnight oil treatments and following day apply clarifying shampoo to oiled hair. Massage through for 15 minutes, rinse in very warm water, shampoo again, finish with a good silicone free conditioner. Do that every night/day for a week, then do a second of Katie's Fading Treatment. You will see results!

TacoMichelly: Just an FYI to anyone that plans on using DDL (and I think she says it in this video, too), don't put this on your roots! My stylist used it for the first time on me so it was new to her and she accidentally went all the way to my roots with it. I got a chemical burn from it! Not too terrible, but it felt like my entire scalp had been sunburnt for a couple days.

Joobie Joob: I used to use semi permanent colors a lot, and when it came to stripping leftover color I found that using baking soda or vinegar helped quite a bit. Obviously just don't do every time you wash your hair. Peroxide could help a bit as well. Or even use lemon juice. Just be sure to use something restoring moisture afterwards whether leave in conditioner, coconut oil, or olive oil. Be good to your hair and use bleach only when you feel you need.

Sindi Rodriguez: Dyed my grown out ombré hair blue 2 weeks ago and I’m tired of it already so THANK YOUUUU for all the info ☺️

Certified Alienist: I was desperately seeking a way to wash out a shampoo stain. I discovered a few less expensive ways. Not a hair dye, granted, but a mere clarifying shampoo or dandruff shampoo fades such color but I'm impatient and after the first fail, I had to have immediate results. Your pointers were on point. So appreciative. I love the packet options. No one warns consumers that the shampoo stains won't always lift off easily and they adhere to blonde hair that is sun damaged while not grabbing onto the virgin root, leaving a nasty halo affect if the color difference is extreme. Experience is everything. I'm glad it was my own hair while trying a new product line and not a client or a patient, as I do patient care, home health... And the color was supposed to be a beautiful silver/grey, but it turned darker... Nearly a blue/black. Thankful, again, I sacrificed my own hair and my own worry. Lol

JD Illustration: I always use Katie's fading treatment to fade my colors (I have super fine hair that does not tolerate processing well), even the dreaded Ion sky blue comes out with it. Sure, it takes a few, but spaced out to once a week? Bye bye blue in @3wks! It's definitely a blessing to the DIY community!

Katie Kelleher: Everyone saying that you talk too much, I would have to disagree with them I appreciate the information you gave. Especially coming from a fellow cosmetologist I appreciated you breaking down why certain things wouldn’t chemically work and why other things would chemically work. Other people just don’t understand the chemicals or the Scientific lingo so they see it as babel. But I do not, so thank you, i’m trying to get blue out of my hair right now and it’s a pain is the ass!

Alejandra Flores: LOVE this video. So informative and shows you really care about your clients struggles with their hair by sharing this video.

Jessie NoJoke: I’m in Katy’s rainbow hair group and her fading treatment is amazing. You have to have patience with it.

Lauren Smith: That first method is actually called a "shampoo cap" or "bleach wash" and it usually works better if you let it sit for a while and scrub. Also using soo many things to condition the hair in the mix is going to make the process take longer since you're also smoothing the cuticle. I've done it without any kind of conditioning and it worked very well.

Christine Galvez: Thank you so much for making this video! I used Pravana Amethyst (purple), I wanted to be back to a level 6 and tried bleaching out the purple with Blondor 40 and it turned bright green! Lol it looks amazing but not what I wanted, so I'm going to try Malibu Ddl :) personally I love the talking because you explain things so thoroughly so it becomes extremely helpful. Ty ❤️

harmonyguest: The Malibu DDL is amazing! It has worked for me numerous times. Thanks for the informative video!

Sylvie Perez: Hi, loved the video. Do you think the second process you used would work on my hair to remove black semi permanent color? It's the kind that washes out after 23 shampoos so it says on the box. My hair is in pretty good shape and mostly gray under the black. What do you suggest? Thanks so much.

Sara Michelle: I was so happy that the Malibu DDL was the product you used to remove her color. I have been eyeballing it but had never seen results of it before. I drove 50 miles today after leaving the salon early to go pick it up lol Very helpful video! I am trying it on myself first before a client for sure!

Karen Jess: I am a new hair stylist and I love watching your videos. I learned so much from them, thank you!

Katie Siepierski: Thank you so much for sharing my fading treatment! It is going to be published on HairCrazy soon, in an article I wrote that goes over alllll the common removal methods like DDL, clear and developer, vitamin c, baking soda, lightener, etc. When it is published i will send you the link to it :)

Carina Aguilar: I go to cosmetology school and I had purple hair . One of my instructors used the base breaker by redken and that removed all the purple out of my hair . I would highly recommend it (:

mckenzie schafer: I did the ddl when it came out and it dries your hair out so bad. the fact that it uses developer should actually drive the color further into the hair strand. it gives you the option for a gentler removal using water instead of developer which I'd recommend. but the best method so far is with Pravana's pure light power lightener and zero lift developer. my client always gets lots of colors and it got her completely platinum with no damage

aimee alderman: This video couldn't have came at a better time!!! THANK YOU! I'm sure my client will thank you as well

Apple oli: omg my salon mate and i were just discussing what the heck to use when it comes to removing direct dye!! you are a miracle! thank you so much♡

A: I used the Malibu DDL and did it two days in a row and had breakage. For the past 3 weeks I've been trying to bring my hair back from that! Just my experience to take with anyone who uses it only do what your hair can withstand!

Faith Phoenix: I did the method in the description, but swapped the shampoo for dish detergent. Worked really well on my semi permanent red ends! Needs 1 more treatment though. Strange thing is, my hair actually feels better than it did before I did the treatment. Go figure.

Patricia Duran: Hi, Alexsis, I really appreciate what you do to help up us, so I've been following you go a while and thanks God for this video.. I been doing my hair for a long time, but I have never tried fantasy colors before, so I went with the sky blue from ion and it works perfect, I had a balayage before, so it looked amazing, but I got tired of it, so I used color fix to remove the color, but didn't work, so with no results, I used bleach and it works, but at the end I still have some of the green, even when I use a 7NG. My question is, can I use the Malibu DDL and use a permanent hair color over it again? Thanks in advance !!

Amanda Collins: I am so happy that you did this video. I had bought Malibu DDL but I came across Katie's method and I wasn't sure which to use. It saves me alot of time. <3

TheMotormouthmomma: 10 to 15 vitamin c tablets crushed, with equal parts shampoo work amazing. Leave on 20-90 minutes, and it will pull most if not all direct dye out, also overtoned hair, and fade some permanent dyes. It is slightly drying so condition well, but no bleach!

Jana Opperman : Thankyou so much for this video!!! Life saver. Literally coloured my hair with a turquoise semi permanent hair colour and it was fun for 2 days. But now I want to go back blonde

Rose Heart: baking soda, white vinegar, expensive aloe without silicone, and a cheaper moisturizing shampoo works great for pulling OLD color out without damage to healthy hair.It works great for my thin blonde hair and it actually feels and looks so much healthier,it's normally very thin and kinda fragile.

allybaby432: I love ur videos they help so much I'm also a stylist and it's great to share information like this thanks doll

Ellen Franklin: I'll have to try this. Used Beyond the Zone Color Jamz in purple passion, tripped up turquoise, bubblehead pink, not so shy violet and huckleberry blue. It was supposed to wash out over time, however, it stayed in my hair six weeks . I finally used BTZ Radical Color Remover. The first time I used it with water, it lightened up, but not enough. The next day I tried it with ION Sensitive Scalp 20 developer and more came out, the purple was now like a dusty rose but brassy at the ends. third time everything but a hint of pink came out; however, I had a lot of yellow and brass. Don't know anything about toners so I waited a day and tried ION Brilliance Colors Brights Titanium, rose, lavender and azure blue. The only colors that really took are the lavender and azure. The rose is more like a peachy color and the titanium took, but it's really uneven. I guess toning it would have been the smart thing to do. So I've now made the decision that my hairdresser will be doing this.

NefFy: The reason why baking soda works is because it is alkaline and also because it absorbs. It is damaging because it is drying just like developer. If you do multiple processes of some bleach concoction for Malibu plus developer you are damaging your hair probably just as much or more as he would if you just used freaking bleach. If you want to remove hair color without just waiting for it to rub off and shampoo out you are going to damage the hair. There is no way around it. I think the quickest and also the most minimal damage is a single process bleach bath and watch it until the color is gone and then quickly get it out of the hair and do a hair mask or whatever to close down the cuticle. This is why I don’t do hair anymore. I can’t handle the nonsense

Natalie Chico: I think I heard you say you tried pravanna colour extractor. it doesn't work on direct dyes because it's not meant to. according to pravanna it's only meant to be used on oxidated dyes (ie dyes that have been mixed with peroxide ) that's why it didn't work. it works amazingly with oxidated or peroxided dyes.

Melissa Sevy: I bought the Malibu DDL awhile ago but just didn't dare use it. Thank you, thank you for this video! Can't wait to try it on myself tonight!

Kendra Vanhook: Just an FYI Pravana Color Extractor works ONLY for OXIDATIVE hair color.

Jennifer Lockaby: What was the name brand of the toner you used for the green? I had my hair purple and it faded to green, did a bleach wash and it's blonde now but I have a really green hue to it. I'm trying to go "silver" also but I need this green out lol

Rachel Snow: What developer did you end up using? And did you apply it to wet or dry hair?

GigglezJuicy2010: Love katies fading treatment have been using it for a few years and I love it... two or three rounds of it and bam

Zoe Small: you can saturate the hair with coconut oil for 1 hour to over night before you bleach to reduce damage. And you put the bleach on top of the coconut oil it doesn't affect how the bleach works.

victimofstereotypes2: Is this more effective than using the clear "color" method? And do you know which one would be less "damaging"?

OoMASEoO: I had good results using Ajax dish soap (it has critic acid aka vitamin c) and anti dandruff shampoo

Mrs. Major: Hi thank you for this review. I love it. Can I use this on my natural gray hair to remove black or brown semi color?

browneyedgirl1100: Hi:) Thank You for sharing your expertise. After the DDL can I use a permanent hair color? I can't wait to try this

TheArtDreamer: Showing pictures of the outcome of the products would have been a lot more useful than just talking about it

Christian Brown: Any recommendations on which yellow dye to get? I'm dying my hair like yellow yellow and don't know which brand to ask my stylist to use?

Hair By Yana Nek: What are you recommendations for lightening violet / grey hair without bleaching ? Trying to take My client to a very light silver but her hair picked up a lot Of Brassy tones

Melissa Sabolcik: it took my color and demi out completely! works great but only issue is your hair deff needs to be in great shape bc it will make it more fragile. my hair didn't have great integrity beforehand so I shouldn't have used it but I was desperate and wanted to try it before using it on clients. I used 10vol and only left on like 15 min and my hair was destroyed, been recooperating it ever since and might have to cut off a few inches. so deff use with caution or see if there's a way to use olaplex with it!! but deff gets all colors out!

Rosey Posey: ok but what gets rid of the stain ontop of natural colour? i put good dye young rock lobster on my hair to get a little bump in colour for a little. but ive tried so many vitamin C treatments, dish soap, dandruff shampoo, and hot oil treatments and the colour is still obviously there. any other methods? its at the point where its stained, not really much actually sittin on the cuticle

Jamie Reed: I am going to be trying this soon!(: and I loved the video and at the last part on the Second try could you tell everything you used so I can wright it down please an thank you!((: ☺️

ruby rodz: I tried DDL and NOTHING happened just left my hair with a smell. Joico color eraser was my life saver highly recommend

Elsie Howard: Save 15 minutes of your life you'll never get back - use DDL and follow directions on back. Nothing else to see here.

Brittany Mccann: Do I use coconut oil for all three steps? Or just the first?

Jennah Warren: Everyone is saying how you talk to much but I watched the entire video and was not annoyed at all and found all your talking useful information. Thank you for all the detail! Patience is a virtue people.

Svitlana Kosovenko: Katie Siepierski FADING Formula works perfectly on colorista l'oreal teal color! thank you so much <3

powerbean: What's the second product you mentioned to add to the ddl?

Melissa Mimosa: Great video. Thanks for the information, I'll definitely try it

Caroline Boves: Everybody complaining about “no bleach clickbait”... after thinking on the same grounds for a while, I think I understand why it says no bleach... I guess they mean no bleaching necessary, meaning no bleach with peroxide which is really the damaging combo... am I right?? If I am, hope this helps clarify

Damia: This video is perfect for me !!! i have blue hair with underneath white hair , so i cannot bleach unless i want to lose my hair i tried a color remover and it just lighted up a little bit and the product smell so bad i dont even wanna do it a second time , im gonna try what u said

Annie Legris: Would extra virgin olive oil have the same effect as coconut oil

Jessica vandegoorberg: have you ever used baking soda and dish soap, I used it to get some of my red and pink out. alot of UK stylists use it, I'm in a hairstylist help group on Facebook

Mel: Hey Alexsis , i've put a tulip fashion color on my natural brown but i don't like the result at all so i was wondering that if i use malibu direct dye lifter with a 10 developper it's going to lighten a lot my hair or i will get back to my natural hair color? I was thinking putting the product less time but i'm not sure that it going to work. Thank you!!

nfruehavon: Do you think you can use the DDL with 30Vol? (Its just what I happen to have at hand right now)

Abby Hull: I used argon oil hair dye which was temporary and has lasted me 3 months, (it is blue/green) the box said it would last 6-8 showers. Should I keep washing it normally in the shower (because I can see dye in the water and it is slowly fading) or should I try the vitamin C and conditioner concoction? Or should I try the last method?

Tiffany Knopf: Pravana Zero volume ( which was created for removing their direct dyes) + bleach for 5 or 10 min. Done.

karina: I actually used the pravana color extractor on my sister's purple hair awhile back (which was also pravana) and it turned it a really ugly green!!

Isabella Marie Cordero: What I did to one of my clients that had a green residue I used olaplex #2 and a dot or two of red from pravana vivids I put it on her hair and it amazingly took off in 2 to 5 min u have to be there to watch the process it really works and helps with the hair... hope this helps =)

Jessica Hall: Pravana lightening boost triple zero and 30 volume work amazingly literally within minutes

Tara Valentino: I had this same problem the other day i used the ddl on a client with green hair it didnt work so I heard clear from shades eq takes direct dyes out i left it on for 15 mins and it took all of her green out!

Brandon Shipley: This is a good video, i saved it for watch later to help my gf for when she wants to temp dye her hair @Alexsis Mae

Chelsea Brancefield: Does it take it back to the natural color, if you’ve never bleached and dyed over natural color?

Two Bits: Can you use olaplex with DDL?

Tanya Gomez: I watched a video before this one and I used vitamin c tabs that I crushed into a powder then added any kind of dandruff shampoo too it put it on my hair let it sit for 1 hour with a bag on your head to cover it and it took a lot of my blue and green out of my hair I have a little bit of blue I need to get rid of so I'm gonna try this .

Ev G: I keep up my lisence but haven't worked in a salon for over 10 years. So some of this is new to me. Is Continuum the same concept as Olaplex? (Neither of which I've used). Sad part is.....I, literally haven't had my own hair done in YEARS! Last time I went to a salon she totally chopped my hair off. Thanks for the "continuing education"!

Luna anne marie Rodriguez: people need to stop trying to be right. im glad your talking because im listening -.- im trying to get my hair to lighten i have so much green tones left in my hair from the voodoo blue from manic panic :(

Tilly Slater: Does anyone know where you can buy the Malibu DDL in the UK? Or if there are any really comparible products??

evilcrumbs: doesnt putting oil in bleach kind of counteract it? cuz the oil blocks the bleach or slows it down or doesnt make it as effective

Debbie Avant Mccain: loved it !!!! tks works for me.....

Dee Zakhary: anti dandruff and vitamin c or vitamin c and developer before bleaching and all those other treatments a few times with conditioning treatments in between is what I do

Tricky Jupiter: I dyed my hair purple, now I'm trying to remove it . It's still pretty dark, is this something I could do at home ..? or should I go to a professional ?

jmpinkie: Does this only work for hair that has been previously bleached? I have colored red-copper hair and just had the underneath colored with Pravana blue and purple and it keeps staining my red hair. So now I have ugly greenish ends... can I use this method to help get the green out?

Bridget Helm: Mixing the ddl with just water which is a step you may choose work Phenomenally

Annelise Fritchie: I’m naturally blonde. If I use temporary color, will it actually wash out?

MissLamentful: Do you think this will help remove very faded black hairdye from the hair? Also, Olaplex didn't work on my hair at all. :(

Lolo lana: Ughhh I dyed my hair with the temporary crazy colour hair dye. It was green and I washed it so many times but it won't go out at all. It's been a month and still won't go. I tried dying it back to my brown hair colour but there is still some left

Kim Donovan: what can you use if you don’t have bleach powder? what substitute?

Ms .Hemmings: Did you use olive oil on her hair again before the DDL the application?

Maria Maenle: Malibu ddl is recommended for processing without heat

Alina: Can I leave the Coconut Oil out?

Melany Kertell: baking soda+dawn dish soap+40 cream developer=no semi color left over

Khadijah Asif: Really confused because most of the time, people recommend putting coconut oil/olive oil/white vinegar in order to make hair dye last longer in hair as they close the cuticles in the hair shaft and retain colour better. Can someone help me out here? how come these ingredients are being used to remove colour?

noelle marquez: if you ever end up using the joico eraser please document it! i would love to see you use it

Iyan Raihana: Does the MalibuC DDL dry out the hair? :)

josdamillio: I have a client that colored her own hair at home black, and wanted to go to a platinum blonde. before she colored it black, it had been many different bright colors, including pink. I used lightener, twice, a week apart, and everything came out perfect except she still has a baby pink band on her midshaft. Do you think the ddl would work? or do you think if I couldn't get it out with lightener it's not happening.

LtlRed Hen: "WITHOUT BLEACH!" Ingredients list: Item 1 BLEACH POWDER

NefFy: Instead of using your professional integrity meter in your head try using science and logic… Katie’s concoction of kitchen stuff lifted because of the baking soda and shampoo that’s it…Using oil while you’re shampooing at the same time it’s just counterproductive. Vinegar just closes the cuticle The thing that damages hair is mainly the developer not bleach powder

bre hippler: question, if i have bleached highlights, will temporary hair dye ruin that?

Kassy Smith: Lloovveee your pupper, love your energy, and thank you for all your information!!

Adri J: So I have brown hair with salon dyed blonde highlights and added a semi permanent blue colour as an ombre. Now I want to get rid of the blue using the vitamins will it take out the blue properly? Or will it take out some of the real blonde dye? Please help!

cammey3: Bleach powder and water works better than the coconut oil mix one.

Niki M: I use Katie's method frequently (: my favourite
