How I got my Burgundy Plum Hair Color: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N6CPsG...

Hey guys today, I wanted to talk to you about my hair color and how I maintain it, because red hair color can be a very large pain um to keep the color vibrant. It'S I don't know it's so weird to me, because red hair color is the hardest color to maintain, but it's also the hardest color to get rid of. So it's just really strange kind of annoying. But I'm going to tell you today the steps that I take to keep my hair color, nice and vibrant. Now, if you want to see a video on how I originally got this hair color, I will link that in the description bar below I did recently recolor. My hair and I did it a little bit differently - I'm just gon na quickly go through that right now, just because just in case I get any questions. So whenever I color my hair, this color, I use a permanent hair color and then I go over it with Manic Panic. So what I did, because I've just been wanting a little bit more of that purpley plum undertone. So what I did was, I got the Vidal Sassoon Vidal Sassoon. I don't know how to say it, but they have their hair colors from the drugstore and the color I used, I believe, was deep. Velvet violet it's pretty much straight up purple, so I put that all over my hair follow the directions and then I washed my hair completely dried, my hair with hair drier and then I went in and I don't have my vampire red from Manic Panic. But this is Purple Haze. I put a little bit of this with a lot more vampire red, like I use less of this, and I do vampire red mix those together with a little bit of conditioner um, not necessarily to dilute it, to make it pastel, because I don't want pastel, but It just makes it go a little bit further, so I don't use so much, but I just mix all that together, I don't have a certain way of measuring it. Like I said, I just use a little bit less of purple haze than I do vampire red saturate, my our head with that put a shower cap on leave it on for about 30 minutes, rinse it out and I'm good to go. So that's what I did to get this hair color right now now. I know that in these lights my hair color seems to not show up all that vibrantly, but in the thumbnail picture. That is me standing in front of this window over here in natural daylight. It also snowed a whole bunch today, so it's even brighter from the snow, but that's what my hair kind of looks like in brighter lighting, but I love this hair color so much. I feel like it's so fun and one of the most fun things about it is that it does look different in different lighting like right. Now it just kind of looks normal, like it doesn't. Look all that bright. But if you get in that really bright natural light, those colors really pop from the Manic Panic, so I just love it, but it does fade. So here is the four one one on what I do to maintain this. First of all, I feel like it's really important to use a sulfate-free, shampoo and conditioner um. I feel like using a shampoo and conditioner that just says that it's for color-treated hair. I don't feel like that's good enough, because a lot of those still have those sulfates and those harmful things in them that are not that great for your hair and not great for red hair color either. So these look a little bad because they are literally. I probably have one more use out of these, and then I'm gon na have to go get some more, but this is the L'Oreal soap, a sulfate free line. This is the hydrating one. They do have different ones, for I don't know different hair types. I guess this is the only one. I'Ve ever had it's for very dry hair, but I love this stuff. This is this does not strip my hair color. I'Ve tried a few different shampoos and conditioners. I'Ve even tried some of the shampoos that have red and then like they're supposed to be a color, depositing shampoo. I'Ve tried some of those, and I just I felt like it was okay. As far as the color depositing aspect went, but as far as like nourishing my hair and not making it dry out and all that stuff, I just didn't like what it was doing for my hair. This is so nourishing. It really is and of course, it's much more affordable because it's from the drugstore. I have mentioned this before in videos where I talk about this shampoo and conditioner, but I've never used a shampoo that feels so silky in my hair and when I rinse it out. I don't feel like I have to put conditioner on it's just so moisturizing hydrating to the hair. I love it. So that's why I used to wash my hair. I only wash my hair 1 to 2 times a week. I know for some people, that's crazy and some people think they can't do it. Let me tell you, though, you really do just have to train your hair if you're used to washing your hair every single day or every other day when you first start to not wash it as much it's going to get oily, because your oil is overproducing, because You wash your hair so much so you just have to give it good week and a half two weeks to let your scalp and your skin and the oils all adjust. And I promise you it's going to be fine, washing your hair as a small amount as possible is absolutely the best, because, with red hair, every single time you wash your hair, some of its going to fade out. It just happens. Also, I only wash my hair in cool water. I never wash my hair with hot water - I don't wash it while I'm actually in the shower, because I'm using hot water, so I just always wash my hair separately by itself. Ok! Next up! This is really the part that has really saved my hair color. Honestly, I can go such a long time without touching it up when I do this, so this is my little concoction. This is a Garnier, deep conditioner, I'm sorry, I don't have the actual container. I came in, but I just dumped it all in here. I do like this conditioner. It comes in an orange little container, so I dump that in here and then I put my Manic Panic. I used an entire jar of Manic, Panic, vampire red, and then I use maybe a third of Purple Haze and put in here. I just mix it up with a spoon stir it all in and about once a week. So one of the times that I wash my hair during the week, I will wash my hair in while it's still wet. I will put this in my hair put a color cap in leave it for just a few minutes and then go rinse. It back out. Umm, this honestly works so well, and it's conditioning my hair really well at the same time. So if you have any kind of a natural hair color, this is what you need to be doing. This just saves my hair, so much umm, I colored my hair. I touched on my hair. I think I did it shortly before we moved into this house, so that would have been kind of like right before Christmas time. I touched up my hair color. I didn't fully touch it up again with the whole permanent hair, color and everything until has that been a week ago already, it has exactly a week ago today, um I, which, by the time this video goes up, it's not going to be today anyways, it doesn't Matter, but I went a good like two months without touching up with permanent hair color, just because I was using this once a week and you couldn't tell that my hair had faded that much my roots had grown out a lot. You could definitely see that, but other than that, my hair was still so vibrant and definitely red. So this is the biggest Savior, along with the shampoo and conditioner and washing your hair cold water. It'S all pretty important, but honestly, this, I think, is the biggest game-changer. I was not doing this for a long time since I've had this haircolor. I'Ve had it for about. I think, seven or eight months almost doesn't pretty much as long as I've been growing out. My pixie cut. So that's about seven months, but for a long time I didn't do this and I was having to touch up my hair color all the time. So this has just saved me. I'M sorry, I don't have all the exact containers to show you, but I hope it was still helpful if you have any questions about anything. I do please leave that below. Also, if you have any tips that you do yourself leave that below as well, because I would love to hear it alright guys thank you for watching. I hope you enjoyed and I'll see you next time.
