How I Dye And Add Bleach Highlights To My Wig!

I wanted to do something different with my RPGshow Lisa Raye unit so I dyed it. Then I dyed it again. Then I bleach highlighted it. Phew. Chile, just watch the video, lol!

Okay, so hey, what's up guys, I promised I told you guys that I was gon na show you how I do my my highlights in my next video. So here it is so what I did was. I went to Sally's, I purchased their ion color brilliance in five, a hash brown and I used a 20 volume developer and I mix that up really good. I sectioned my hair because I only wanted to dye the top portion of my head, so I put the rest of it in the ponytail and kept it moving just want to show you the products that I used, because I know somebody might ask me: 20 volume Developer um, I wish I would've used 30 light ash brown 5 egg. So I Section what I wanted and in my head I had like a great idea that was gon na have to told me: the top was gon na, be a little bit lighter and I was gon na put highlights in it and then, of course, the back Would still be the dark brown? Well that really happened, but I will just show you the painful processes it took to go absolutely nowhere. This was like a two-day ordeal. I started with 5a and I used 20 volume developer smeared that all in I am wearing a shower cap underneath the wig. I just think it's easier to dye my hair with it on top of my head. That way, I know where the color is, and I can see it actually, you know going where I wanted to go so anyway. After I apply the dye hahaha, nothing happened, tada see how it looks the same. The exact same I left the dye on for like 35 40 minutes and nothing happened. So I'm going to try a different plan of attack. Again, i sectioned my hair off the way I wanted it because I wanted to highlights to be in the front of my hair and frame my face like this way and then coming around and tada. So I used 30 volume developer. Get that five added way. I need a seven a so I went to Sally's to pick this up and I read the destructions and then I mix some more stuff up and then I started to do my hair and then for some reason. I really wanted to show you how cool I am at stirring, but it wasn't working because I was facing the wrong way and whatever I got frustrated okay, so I started foiling. I used oils and I used a weaving technique to grab the hair that I wanted to highlight, and I put the seven a color on these foils and then I let it sit. Um yeah. I guess what happened. Nothing so forget this 7:8 crap get that mess out of the way. Give me some bleach Minh I use bleach, and then I decided that I was going to try again fifteen billion time. I probably watched my hair, the wig like five times that day or so I was so done, but then I'm so I bleached it. This is pure bleach going on this hair right now, ladies and gentlemen, bleach sloppy bleach, I put it up there and I said if you don't work, I'm just going to dye the whole thing jet black, because dang it you'd better work. So there I am folding. My last foil completely frustrated and then I let that sit for again, 15 minutes but yeah. So please excuse me acting crazy. I was listening to some Beyonce and you know she just does something for me, but uh yeah. I just want to show you what it looks like. I didn't really do the back, so there's nothing really different about the back. I concentrate when I do. When I highlight my hair. I only concentrate on what's gon na frame the face because I'm carries about the bag. I don't see the back. I don't care about that. Other people might tell me um. I don't know what's going on back up here right now, but I can't see the back of my head. It'S okay walk around here to marys. Oh, I don't care um, but yeah. That'S it and I'll see you guys later. Oh

Yaz Min: I went through a similar issue with dying my so called human hair extensions I had to let those things sit in 40 developer and a crap load of bleach for 6hrs and they came out the dark brown to honey blonde ombre I was hoping to get. It just took a lifetime!

Lapreghiera: Ladies, it does take hours for extensions/weave/wigs to color - they are treated by the manufacturer so they shade they have dyed them won't fade. If you had set the hair aside til the next day on your first try, you would've had the auburn 2 tone you sought. Also on the 1st try you should've went with the liquid color & developer in a bottle instead of the cream, would've made applying it to that large section of hair quicker. Just 2 cents.

zeeb116: lol! like i had the bright idea of blue/black hair (more blue than black) that would "ombre" to a midnight blue with very fine random purple highlits... all on un bleached hair of course... yea.. long story short, i have very nice black hair and wonderful blue pillows <---- lol at my dyeing techniques. Nice results btw :)
Lapreghiera: Ion & other pro brands have both cream & liquid color formulas. Liquid is mixed in a bottle for quick, all over application, creams are for bowls & strategic apps like highlights, frosting, retouch. I was just saying when you were just doing the whole crown 1st try, liquid would've been faster. I use to leave weave in a plastic bag over nite & it takes bleach or double/triple process to get higher shades even though it takes longer, developer still only has a finite activation time.
