Black to HONEY Brown - Lightening My Hair Without Bleach

Hey! I've been sitting on dying my hair for a long long time. I finally stopped procrastinating and got it done. I want to eventually transition to an ash blonde/light brown colour but since my hair was black we need to do it gradually. So here is phase one... i think I would describe this as a honey brown with orange undertones.

Okay, so if you're interested in seeing how I went from this to this then keep on watching. As I share my experience of dyeing my hair, hey guys, okay, so today I am about to dye my hair, I'm about to go to the hair salon. I just hope to go lighter. I don't really know how, like we can go in one session, just going to kind of talk to her and see what we can do I'll talk to you guys afterwards. Hopefully I love it in the end, but this is my before my naturally black hair hi, so I'm back from the hair salon. This is how my hair turned out, so not exactly how I envisioned it in my head, but basically we agreed that to get where I want to get in that specific reference photo. We'Re gon na have to do it gradually. That'S gon na have to take. You know a several sessions, not you know. My hair is so dark that getting it that light and only one session you would have probably had to use bleach, but I decided that I didn't want to use mousse that I was okay with just you know, making my way there. Eventually, I want to kind of see how it kind of tones down or how it kind of looks like in you know a week when it settles, but yet this is how it looks like in the lake. Ok, so it's been about a week and a half since I dyed my hair and I just wanted to film and show you guys how my hair looks now and I'd have to say I like it so much better. I know the last clip you couldn't really see the color the best, but basically I was kinda not too sure about it. When I first got it done because the roots at the top of my hair and my big ears were so yellow orange, it was just so bright. I was just really uncomfortable with it at first and I put my hair up for like the next two days, because I wasn't ready to much show off the color, but for all you, people who dyed your hair are unsure the color just wait it out. It'S definitely told tones down throughout the week. You know and that's exactly what happened with my hair and I am totally satisfied and happy with the color. It is out right now. It'S way less orange and yellow at the top. I washed it conditioned my hair about like three times during the week, so I think that definitely helped tone it down a little bit. If any of you, ladies, are considering dyeing your hair and going from no black to eventually blonde a good tool to watch or to just get some information for me was Taryn guy's video. She had a series of videos of her going from block to block and it was very informative and basically from what I learned from those videos, I realized that it was not necessary for me to use bleach on because I did have you know, virgin black hair. I hadn't dyed my hair in four years and all that previous color I had had grown out. So I learned Terrance guys video, that if your hair is virgin, then you are able to lift the color. You know pretty significantly without bleach the moment I told you know the hairdresser was doing my please wait. She, like that's, why I don't have to use, will do graduate that with a moment when I knew she was a good hairdresser, because she was a ton of forth that on me, cuz, obviously bleach it's an easy, fast kind of lazy way. I guess I don't know easy, basically easy fastest way to get your hair lighter, and she was in charge me on that. She that would it would ruin my curls and she was down with taking it slow with. You know, gradually going lighter on. So I came into my apartment was only leaving conditioner in my hair and I didn't wash it and I bore because you're supposed to actually leave like the natural oils in your hair before diet, what I showed her the reference photos. The first step was to Sydney link with the ash blonde color directly onto my black hair, and we did basically all of my hair, except for the roots, because she's talking about your loose die quicker because you know it's close to scale. We sculpt is warm, it just picks up color lot. You know quicker and easier. So with all the color of the rest of my hair, i sat in the dryer for about 15 minutes. Then I came out and then she applied one color on my roots. After that, I went back under the dryer once again and then, after that I came out and she applied some toner on my hair and she selected like little pieces throughout my hair to make some liar like. Obviously this one is a little bit lighter, maybe like yeah there's a little pieces that are a little bit lighter than the rest of my hair. Once the toner had been in my hair for a little bit, I came out and we washed everything out - and this was the point when I kind of got a little bit scared because um once everything was washed up. This is what I noticed that my roots have picked up the color so much more than the rest of my hair and the boots just looked like yellow late head, I was just looking. I was like okay and yeah she's very nice, lady. First of all, guys day - and I said I can you put more toner - she did - she ended up putting a lot more toner on my baby hairs and no just close to new roots. Then I said under the dry again and then we wash the toner again for a second time and it was so bright, but it wasn't, as you know, crazy. That'S the first time um and she's basically basically like. If I put any more toner, then it's gon na go back to being dark, something to the point, so I said: okay, cool, um and plus it was wet and when it's wet it looks different than when it actually dries so a week she could put like A bunch of different like curly hair products. I think it was Eva crow. After dyeing my hair day, your curls are gon na lose his shape, but since they are curly salon, they definitely know how to maintain and take care of curls um, which was great um. So then yeah she just diffused my hair and basically I was done and the appointment was a three hours and 45 minutes, so I'm compressing a lot of it. Basically, the media thing I noticed when I looked at my hair was my eyebrows. My eyebrows were like jet-black and then my hair, all of a sudden, was so light and I was just like I need to go tint, my eyebrows, so actually, right after I left the salon, I took my eyebrows but um yeah. This salon. I went to super clean super nice, ladies, if any way want to know where I weigh I'll leave their link down the description bar. If you want to check it out you're in the Toronto area, so she recommended that I come back to do the next phase of coloring in two months, because she doesn't want to over stress my curls, which I appreciate. Trust me see I'll go back and probably that my men will be able to get closer to that ash blonde color that I initially you know showcase Elvira, but yeah, I'm very happy with my experience overall experience, I'll lick, Terran guys, videos as well yeah. I appreciate you guys watching this video, so I'll see you next time. Bye paid fazer, so I was in need a new leaving and I just decided to try Canton hair products because I've never tried them before and I kind of are in love with them.
