Hi, I'm Terri Stephens a stylist with over 10 years experience and today we're at tech salon in Costa Mesa California. In this clip, I will be telling you what level of color and developer to choose when adding highlights to natural hair. The first and most important thing to remember is that artificial hair color can only light natural hair, that is hair that has not been previously colored. It'S also important to keep in mind that artificial hair color can only lift up to three levels and the color you choose, as well as the developer, will be chosen based on what color you're, starting with the basic rule of thumb when deciding on which developer to Use is to remember that 20 volume developer will lift hair to levels and 30 volume developer will lift three here's an example for you. If you're, starting out with level six hair or light brown, you could choose a level nine hair color, with 30 volume developer for a light blond result. If you chose a color that was a level five with 30 volume, you would get a medium golden brown result. It'S always best when making a dramatic change to your color to see a stylist for the best results, and that is how you choose, which color and developer, when selecting colors for highlights. You

Izuku Midoriya デク: I have semi and demi hair color in my hair. I used bleach and 30 volt developer and it got my hair to blonde and I'm a dark brown/black with red tones. I went to Sally's beauty here in town and bought everything I needed as well as my T14 light ash blonde toner. This video is lies, 30 vol or higher will lift very very well in a short time, the most important thing to remember is that using 30 vol or higher the damage to your hair can be very harsh, if what your packaging says 45 mins, do not and I repeat do not leave this developer with bleach in your hair that long, stay in front of a mirror and keep an eye on your color, it should take 20 to 25 mins max. If blonde isnt present and its orange it doesnt matter rinse and condition and leave your hair alone. You cannot get to level 9 in one day without your hair breaking and being so damaged that it breaks off and your hair will break off, it has happened to me. Double bleach and toner in one day and I had to have my hair cut, my hair was maybe 4 inches long because of trying to do this in one day. If you have box black or brown dye it will take months to get it out to go blonde the healthy way for your hair. Box dye is harsh and hard to take out of the hair once it's in. This video needs to explain more and you can get up to 7 levels removed from your hair, this lady is uneducated in this. Explaing the cons of going lighter should of been in here and how to reach hair color goals the healthy should of been addressed. You can get salon results at home way cheaper than going to a salon.

M K: I can't believe how hard it is to find GOOD hair dye instructional videos, it's driving me nuts! Does anyone have any other video recommendations? I'm trying to cover grey roots, my hair is naturally dark brown and I've been using darkest brown/nearly black Olia box dye for the last year. I just bought Wella dye in Black Cherry & Developer 20 & 30 from Sally's.
