Hey beauties said today we are going to highlight my hair. I am so excited. As always, I will be using this Revlon honey, highlighting kit, it's my go-to kid. I always get really good gorgeous color with this kit. One of you guys actually suggested that I try out this highlighting comb, so you got your thicker highlights on this side and your more thinner highlights on this side. It'S supposed to be really easy to map out your highlights so gon na try this out. For the first time, if you are new to my channel, my name is DeAndre. I love to post, affordable fashion and beauty content. So if that's something you enjoy hit that subscribe button and let's get started with these highlights, leach is mixed. It should look something like this before I get started. I should just give a quick disclaimer that I am in no way a professional hairstylist. I just enjoy doing this at home. I'Ve been doing it at home, most of my life, and I trust myself more than I trust anybody else with my hair. If I mess up it's on me, so let's get started. I am actually gon na go like in small sections, so maybe like an inch of hair for each layer. So we have my inter layer here, I'm just going to tie this up out of the way and then I'm going to part it by the way. I am using the bigger side, so these are gon na give me more chunky highlights, and these are gon na give me like a full head of highlights. I just want like a little bit of dimension in my hair, so I'm gon na use the thicker one. I'M just gon na put this in my hair at the roots, and I took off my glove because I feel like the glove would have gotten in the way. So now I'm just gon na pick off the top layer. So if you can see there is the separation, I'm just gon na do the top, because I feel like it's gon na be easier as I go so now again, I am NOT a professional I like to just take a glob of bleach and then blend from The middle down and then blend up that way, it's more of a poly arch, look blending down all the way to the bottom and then giving a nice blend at the top now taking up oils, and we have our first highlight - I am wiping my hands as I go so I'm not like making a mess of the bleach next layer, this one. I think I'm going to do in halves like this. So then I get the back end here and then I'll get the back end on the other side. So just pushing that part back doing the front first, I finally got smart and got some of these clips. So what I'm gon na do is just clip this layer down that way. When I bring the next layer down, I don't like get them all mixed up. Clip that down this has been a pretty easy process. I noticed that if you just kind of like pull on the bottom of your hair, it just helps the separation happen, a little bit easier on your comb and then you can just drag your finger right in between it and then there you have it your highlighting Areas so I made it to the top couple sections. I really like this comb technique. It'S been really quick and easy for me. My only concern is like how accurate are these highlights, because I noticed that, like when I pull the hair to apply the bleach. It'S not like you know straight chunks. What'S reassuring me is that, like the teasing technique is kind of the same thing, it's just kind of like random. I guess I am kind of going for a painted look anyway. So now I'm going to start on the top. The most important part I am gon na cut it in half one more time. Let'S do this like evenly. I'M gon na start like on the arch of my eyebrows and go straight back. It'S not the most perfect line, but honestly it doesn't really need to be, because I want more like face framing highlights, I'm actually gon na go in with the smaller side, and hopefully that'll. Just give me like a little bit more highlights right here at the front. So, as I said earlier, it's a little bit easier to see the part between the two pieces. If you kind of just like run your hand through your hair and then just like pull it down, and then you can see like where the comb parts it. I want to balayage like painted, looks so I'm blending down and then I just kind of blend up towards my root. I'M not going all the way up to the root and I don't want a harsh line. So I'm just blending that bleach in so it does give me more of a painted look, so you want to saturate all the bottom and then just slowly work upwards. I'Ve been leaving about like an inch and a half from my root. So you see what I mean by just blending it. So there's no harsh lines. You want a nice natural fade and then this side, I'm just gon na, go back in with the lighter comb. Just like I have throughout my head, we're on our last freshen. A little bleach there again I'm going to use the smaller comb side on the front section here and it's very similar to a shadow you want to blend blend blender so that there's no harsh lines, no big spots, just blend it all together. I am done with the highlighting process. I am going to set a 30-minute timer, I'm not gon na tone. I typically don't need a toner with this highlighting kit, so I'm not toning, I'm just gon na wash out do my hair and show you guys the results. Alright guys so here are my results. I'M honestly loving the like more warm honey tone in my hair. I didn't use a toner, so it might be a little bit more warm than I expected, probably because I did have a hair dye in my hair. Before from when I went Orange to black, I don't want to use a toner, because I don't want to over process my hair, maybe in the springtime, I'll, try and go a little bit lighter again. But I think this color is really pretty for this time of year. I did already have this Ewa NYC blonde leave-in phone conditioner. It comes out purple. It does a really great job of toning, my hair, so I'll probably go in with this tonight. But honestly, I don't feel like it's orange at all. It'S just it's like a warmer honey color, which is what the box told me. It was going to be anyway, so I'm not disappointed with this at all. I did also pick up some of this. Not your mother's blonde moment, shampoo and conditioner, so I will go in with this. My final thoughts on this brush is that I love it. I know I've done a few cap method, videos and I really enjoy the cat method, but the only thing with the cat method. The first time that I did it is that the bottom of my hair wasn't really highlighted. It did stay dark on the bottom, because the cat didn't really pull hair all the way down, and with this I was able to get my whole head of hair. It actually was very easy, as well, very beginner, friendly, very do-it-yourself friendly, and I think that my results really speak for themselves. As far as the fact that this was the first time I used this, and I got pretty good results for doing it at home. On my own I'll show you guys it back again, I'm gon na go ahead and show you guys what it looks like like parted to the side, because when you part it to the side, it does give me more of those like face. Faming highlights that I was telling you guys that I wanted so the fact that I did use this smaller highlights and the front really pays off, and you can really tell when I do side part it yeah. I am loving how my hair turned out. I really hope that you guys enjoyed this video. I hope this helped you out as well. Thank you so so much for watching. If you want to binge more of my fashion or hair videos, I will leave two of them right over here. Also that subscribe button. So go ahead and hit that subscribe button if you didn't at the beginning. Thank you so much for watching and I'll see you guys next time, bye, bye,

Jenny B: I didn’t expect this to come out so good, beautiful!

Samantha M: I’ve never dyed my hair on my own I’ve always paid 200+ for a balayage, but I found your video and oooo GURL. I haven’t had my hair done in about a year so it was mostly grown out, I have dark brown hair and followed your video to a T and it turned out so good!!! Super subtle, looks professional, and after I bought everything you used it only cost me about 20 bucks. No shade to my hairdresser but I’m never going back

Samantha Stubberfield: Omg! Im so glad i found this video! This is going to save me $100s of dollars!!! Thank you!! Your hair came out amazing! And i actually love the tone so much

D T: Here I am trying not to dye my hair again but every time I come across your video I always have an urge to dye it lol

shubity1990: THIS IS EVERYTHING IVE EVER WANTED! SUCH A PERFECT SHADE! Thank you love! Cheers

Amber Alexandra: BOTH of your highlighting videos had helped me SO SO much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was searching and searching for a video to achieve the look I want and your cap one and this one both are perfect! Thank you so much!!!!!

Rida Ahmed: Hi Deanndra!☺️, absolutely love your hair videos! You’re amazing and I already got the dye and the comb. I just had 2 questions before I attempt this over the weekend. 1. How well do you think it will work on dark brown virgin hair & how long should I leave it in for? 2. When you section out the hair from the comb, do you only highlight the top part? Or do you highlight both sections. For some reason I just don’t understand it☹️ Thank you so much for all your amazing videos!!❤️ Much love .x

Kim Stewart: Beautiful. You did an amazing job! Very helpful tutorial.

Homeschool on the Hill: This is the second video of yours that I've watched, and I'm super impressed by your results! I almost always color my own hair to save money, and I'm really itching to do highlights soon. Thanks for your amazing tutorials!

Anne Sunisa: The final result is gorgeous! You are so beautiful and thank you for sharing your DIY ❤️

Joceline Ortiz: Wow coming from a hairstylist you did a good job it looks beautiful and professionally done

Destiny Winters: I LOVE warm, honey, caramel colors! I feel like so many people like cool ashy hair and I’m here drooling over warm blonde

Marianellyy Diaz: Great video girl ! This came out so nice I’ve been wanting to try that to do some highlights on my curly hair

Nidhi: How do you slay these highlights every single time with the same box ?! Damn !

Kim R: This literally looks so amazing! I love your videos

Lucy Chopra: I can't believe how beautiful this is!! Amazing really wasn't expecting it to come out this nicely!

Ariana Galvez: My ma and I followed the video and my hair came out really cute!!!! Follow this tutorial WITH the brush... you really cannot mess it up

jessica Iniguez: I absolutely love it!!! The color that came out is so pretty!

Queenofstitches Warrior: Wow girlll it came out stunning Natural talent I was a hair dresser and i did it myself one time, without the comb; freestyle balayage and backcombing the hair to get a nice blend. I have a lot of thick hair and my arms are killing me The last time i went to the salon and payed €200 for a cut and balayage & toner It turned out far to blond and my curls died in that moment. So now i’m scared and after watching you nailing this, i might give it a try with that special comb I must use a toner, caramel color Loreal professional Diariches, because i have a lot of red pigment and it gives back shine to my hair. About the purple shampoo or how we Dutchies call it, Silvershampoo: Blue shampoo is best for removing orange tones and purple shampoo for jellow tones. Thank you for sharing

🔹️RuthElizabeth🔹️: Love the resultI already ordered my comb and I will try this. Very beautiful!

Kelly E.: When my hair grows out and it’s all virgin hair again I’m definitely trying this. The results were gorgeous

ym. Real: It looks amazing great job!!

Leticia Maria: Ficou muito perfeito, queria saber a cor aqui no Brasil ✨

Tara Power: you are gorgeous!! and this video was so helpful to me, thank you❤️

Consciously Pure: This looks amazing!!! I have just had my balayage done at a salon and they completely ruined it, It’s patchy and blunt and it turns out I could have done this a lot better myself Do you have a tutorial on how to blend out blunt highlights into the roots?

zapatosluv: I bought this comb and it's a game changer! Thanks for sharing. Your hair turned out beautiful.

Sunrayandsky: Wow! Your hair looks gorgeous! I’m gonna try it this weekend!

AleRocks40: I Love it, have seen so many videos and this technique is my favorite. I just ordered the comb, feeing nervous and excited at the same time. Thank you for your video!

: You did and amazing work! I'm going to follow your steps hopefully it turns out as beautiful as yours! ❤️

Tennis Enthusiast- S Desh: Wow! My first time getting my hair color changed and the amount of BS this girl at the salon told me. I ended up spending about $500 because she said she had to change the base color and did a full balayage and then used a glaze. It didn’t even come out the way I wanted it to. I was ripped from inside out and now I also have a heart ache. I feel like a fool. I am never going to any salon ever again! First get ripped and then not even get what you want! I do a better job than them.

Alicia Marie: I have used Revlon frost and glow kit the very first time I did my own ombré and it came out really good, but the mistake I made was wanting more blonde and then turning around and getting bleach and developer from Sally and doing it relatively right after I just did the Revlon frost and glow. Bad idea! I ended up getting a little too happy with the lightener and just lightened way too much hair & up too high on the undercarriage of my mane. After that it was orange and back then I didn’t even know YouTube existed to even know that the way you get rid of orange is to put a toner on your hair. So here I was with these orange and red highlights and eventually I felt so gross that I chopped my hair off due to all the damage and got a boxed dye and turned it back to dark brown.

Christina Z: Thanks for sharing this video! I don't know much about DIY hair projects, but what I can contribute is that next time you do this, cut the aluminum foil into smaller sizes. For example, you could cut it into three parts (the size piece you used). This way, you get more out of the aluminum foil and less to fold up. This is how my hairdresser did it when I highlighted my whole head. :-DDD

Susan B: Your hair looks amazing!!

Idathegreat: stunning results ❤️

Rosa chavez: I watched your video and finally did it... im sitting here waiting to wash it out and see the results!! Yours came out great!! Thanks for giving me the courage to do mine!

Sonia r: Hi ,I'm new to your channel and I love how you explain everything on where to buy the stuff you use and how you apply . before and after pictures are amazing! You did a really good job my question is what color are your hair extensions and where did you buy them from ?I'm so excited I want your look!hair looks really good.

s a: Great job, the color is gorgeous! Would have been nice to see it straight afterwards to compare:)

Alicia Marie: FOR ANYONE WHO DOESN’T WANT TO USE a BOX DYE: I would recommend 10 or 20 volume developer with Balayage Lightener powder. The powder for these specific lighteners for balayage will ideally create lightened AND caramel highlights that way you don’t massively over bleach your hair and it all turns out orange. Research this for more info on why there are balayage lighteners specifically for this type of hair painting. Also, look into why clay lighteners is better than powder... it’s amazing to learn that Clay doesn’t swell as bleach powder and that is usually why people mess up their hair when they DIY balyage if the bleach lightener swells when you are hair painting and it’s in your hair too long and it bleeds in the other parts of your hair if you didn’t properly foil it.

PTRUS 2: ‍♀️WOW, wow, wow.. it look fantastic This is exactly what I've been looking for. Thank you so much for sharing, I'm inspired. God bless

Lucy Morrey: Wow this helped me so much!! Your hair is perfect

Peruchita Ventura: Thank you for this tutorial! I just purchased the Revlon kit and the comb on Amazon. I have curly wavy hair so hope it comes out okay!

bluberrixD: Your hair looks amazing! I've seen the other videos on your playlist, but I was wondering what your natural hair color was when you first started using this kit? Most of my hair is virgin hair, and my hair is a very dark brown (almost black) color. I bought this kit in the same "Honey" shade as you, but have been too scared to try it out because I'm afraid the color won't show! I wasn't sure if I should get the "Blonde" shade instead. I just don't want any weird orangey tones in my hair so I'm a little scared. I want my hair to turn out the same color as yours so just wanted to get as much information before trying it out. Thank you! :)

melissa camacho: Ooh I been wanting to dye my hair for the longest you make it look so easy and I definitely want to try it with the highlighting comb! What shampoo would you recommend if you were dye it like this purple or blue shampoo ?

Lucy Elliott: What an amazing result!!! Welldone girl Haha! Xxx

MJ: This is a very helpful video and I love how the honey color looks on your dark hair. I was wondering if your dark hair is virgin dark hair or did you use a dye kit? If a box dye, what brand and color did you use? I'm nervous that my hair will be more orange than honey. Any tips or suggestions? Thank you in advance for any advice you may offer.

Carol Nobili: I want to try this out but I’ve had highlights before and they left my hair super dry. I’m afraid it will be dry again. What product/oil do you recommend for me to use after the application? Also, what toner do you recommend for me to use, I have dark brown hair. Thank you for all your tips and advices. I can’t wait to try this out!

Cristine O: It came out amazing , excellent job

Angela Monalisa: OMG im at quarantine and decided to hell with it im gonna dye my own hair! I was a bit afraid on how to do it on my own hair but you really demonstrated it well! Thank you!

gemma Vollmer: u done an awesome job! Hair looks great

gargi jadhav: This is absolutely amazing! I just ordered one on Amazon. Thanks for the video

S H: Hi there, I just subscribed. I love this tutorial!! I just went to the salon and didn't get the results I was hoping for! Your video encourages me to do it. If I just dyed my hair at salon and the low lights are not the color I wanted, can I still have the similar outcome? My hair is a medium brown. I'm a newbie to this diy lol. Thanks!

Jenna Monservas: hey! i love the result i really want to do this but if my hair is thick and long (reaches my hips) will this be enough to cover everything or would i have to buy another box? also, did you have a lot of product leftover or did you use the whole thing?

Fatima DaSilva: Love your highlighting tutorials. You remind me of myself back in the day.

lara croft: How many of the bleach and developer have you used? I love your result Amazing girl!

Tanya TN: First of all, you're looking damn gorgeous with this shade plus thanks a lot for this video!! I just wanted to ask one thing.. the bleach you said in the beginning was needed to be done before coloring or did you mix the bleach with the colour itself?

Angela: Love your video! How long do you leave it in for? What if it takes me forever to do certain sections and some come out lighter and some darker?

Wayne Lucas: Absolutely perfect & this Is coming from a hairdresser!

MonicaLovesPugs: The Queen of DIY highlights for 2020. For real! These are the videos we need!

No: Omg that looks great and that’s what I want. I’m going to try this!

Kim Bruce: I am 54 yrs young, I trust myself more than stylist , I have never seen a highlight video as great as yours with the results . I too have had blonde highlights , I went back to dark , my hair is extremely long, fearful if highlighting and getting into the breakage, however, you chose the honey which I need to achieve, God sent me to you'd video this is exactly what I needed. God bless Beautiful

M O: Wow it looks really beautiful! Great job! After how long do you renew your highlights??

k: this is gorgeous!! i actually have two questions i hope you can answer - 1) since i have jet black hair, should i dye it brown before doing this balayage so that the top part is brown? and 2) while you’re dying your hair, do you have to take into account how long certain pieces have been bleaching compared to other strands? just wondering because i noticed you said 30 minutes at the end. :)

lagilbing: This is amazing. Quick question though. If you start the clock for 30 minutes when you finish foiling your last section, wouldnt the first section you started foiling technically have been in for longer then 30 minutes? therefore way lighter? Just trying to figure this out before I try! :)

Platizza: Wow, it came out so pretty. I'm going to try this on my daughter, during quarantine. I hope it comes out like yours!....but I'm curious, how did your fingertips survive touching the dye with no gloves? Did they get itchy or red or anything?- thanks for video

Really: You did a great job. . looks beautiful the right color for your skin tone

Cheli: hey I loveee your highlighting videos and you actually inspired me to do my highlights with the same box and I loved it. But quick question, did you highlight every strand of hair or did you leave some sections of your hair un touched ? I love how yours came out

julianna parese: omg hairdresser here !! this is one of the BEST ones i’ve seen! very good technique my only flaw is the box bleach. sally’s has a good bleach and u can use 20/30 volume with the powder. the results are actually amazing i’m shocked by this!! it was honestly a great technique with a good blend!!! congrats just be careful with the box <33

Mike and Mom: Wow that looks like a $200 salon job! Beautiful!❤️

Jane Smith: What is this sorcery and why am I just now finding out about it??? This is a game changer for at-home hair coloring! Thank you for the great demonstration, I would have never figured it out on my own.

stylishnenis: Thank you so much for all your hair videos, you are amazing! I am planning on trying this out but I will first need to color my grays with a box dye as well and then do the highlights...i also think i will need to tone afterwards, do you think the toner will have any weird reaction to the box dye I'll be using as my base color?

Angie Vu: Thank you for your knowledge ! It’s come out really nice color .. love it

Willow Villalobos: Very good job and gorgeous highlights, I’m just wondering, could you have gotten the same results without using the comb? Also, I wonder if it would would work just as well on a little longer than shoulder length hair

Marylou Holden: Good video I might have to try this...you got beautiful results, you always do...looks great ‍♀️

DTV: I am OBSESSED with your videos and you inspired me to buy the revlon frost and glow kit, im going to try and do it this weekend and I hope it turns out half as decent as yours lol!!! Im using the cap however. Wish me luck you DIY hair dying goddess!!

Evie Salas: It looks great!

Lea Sue Pierce: This looks gorgeous.

Rebecca Chambers: That is amazing, I will definitely try this. To get the same results you have last time cost me £170 due to hair my being so long if I can do this myself what savings.. Thank you

Megha: That's a lovely video..Your hair looks gorgeous I am gonna show this video to my hair stylist I hope they do the same way as you did...

Cynthia L: I am sooooo glad you did this video. I got one of these Combs but I could not get my hair to go through it right. I think I am going to try again your hair came out beautiful. Go on eBay and get redken shades eq in 9hi Hamptons. A great warm toner. Xxooo

Balu Nera: That looks so good on you!!!

Sofia Amaya-Rios: Hi New subscriber! Love your work! I am a little confused, do you mix the ingredients in the box all together? Is that what you're applying on your hair and foiling it or just plain bleach and then the ingredients in the box? I am sooo new at this and need help. Thanks!

Alma Lilia: I love it , you did an amazing job !!!!! By chance , did you only do parts of your hair or the whole thing? I couldn’t really tell , I only saw parts with aluminum and other parts without

Sonia r: Hi Deandra , wow you're very beautiful! ❤️I want to ask you what color do you dye your base color of your hair ?it looks very good on you.also what toner do you recommend if I had to tone it?I want my hair to look just like yours❤️

Nadeze Koenig: How many layers of foils did u do? Is it 5? And except for the bottom first layer, is there 4 foils per layer? Hoping to do this tonight

Janine Estrada: love the tone of it without you even using atoner i mess with my hair all the time at home ,so its nice to see your videos helpful and you remind me of my friend in appreance but she would never do her own hair she pays like 300 bucks for her hair oh helll No ,anyways gorgeous hair

Namira Anjum: ARE YOU KIDDING ME that looks so good!!!

Tanya Emma: Just ordered the comb and a highlighting kit ‍♀️ Your hair looks

Hazel Morales: OMG you are PROFESSIONAL Love it, you look great

livingbreathing on PURPOSE: Wow!!! It looks great!!! Salon BEAUTIFUL! Not orange or red! I have the similar hair color and my biggest problem is always getting reddish orange tones, but I like your results and the fact that you don't have to tone and over process!!! THANK YOU so much for sharing. Plz make a video when you go lighter!❤
