How To Color Your Hair Purple! | Very Detailed Ft. Ali Grace Hair

Bye, sexy hi guys welcome back to my channel, it's Jodi and I'm finally gon na show you guys my updated purple hair tutorial thanks to Ally, grace hair for sponsoring this video. Alright, let's get started, I received my package really fast via DHL, I'm using four bundles of Brazilian straight hair to 26 inches a 24 inch bundle, as well as a 22 inch bundle and a lace closure. So the very first thing I've been doing lately is this little trick that I learned with bobby pins. So, with my hair folded up and detangled, I take like 3 or 4 bobby pins and I hook it through the wedding - and this is gon na keep my hair in place through bleaching, coloring and drying, and this tip saved my life. You guys, I'm also gon na take some plastic wrap and try a little trick that I learned from tiara mone. She puts a plastic wrap on her counter surface or you could put it on whatever you're gon na bleach your hair on, and it really works. You don't have to use like garbage bags or it covers your entire surface, so you don't leave any stains or anything. Okay. Now that our prepping is done, we're gon na get our supplies ready for bleaching. I'M gon na start with some quick blue powder bleach from Sally's some 40 volume developer, a coloring bowl, some brushes, a comb and, of course, gloves, and I'm going to first pour the bleach in the empty mixing bowl. It really helps that I have a double bowl that I can add more bleach to and the bleach that I'm using the quick blue bleach is so good. It'S my favorite because it doesn't have a pungent smell. Also, anything I forget to mention will be in the video description for you guys, like this mini whisk, that I used to mix my bleach and my developer. So if I miss anything, it will all be in the description so yeah once I add the bleach. I add a little bit of developer at a time till I get a nice thick, creamy consistency, but not too runny but lucky for you and me. If it's too runny, you just add a little bit more bleach. If it's too thick just add a tiny bit of developer until you have the right consistency and then you just apply it to the hair. Now girls, I'm using a lot of hair and like let's be real for bundles of long hair in the closure. That'S not a normal amount of hair, so I always buy the big containers of bleach and just in case you need a little bit extra. I always buy more, rather than less so yeah, I'm just applying it to all of my bundles up until probably about an inch, because I want most of my hair to be purple in just a little bit of dark roots. So I'm just leaving about an inch of the roots and once I'm done bleaching one bundle. I just wrap it up in some foil and let it process for 45 minutes and then I move on to the next bundle of hair. So in essence, I'm doing like staggered processing times once one bundle is finished processing I rinse out the bleach and then I go back to bleaching the rest of my bundles and let each one process for 45 minutes. I did serious on eating it's an easy issue with the waiter, the game. As for my closure, I usually do that first or at last. In this case I do at last just so I can pay more attention. So I just extra carefully bleach the same amount of hair. As with my bundles, I just leave about an inch out with dark roots, so you want to be extra careful with the closure, but it's really not that hard to bleach a closure or a frontal. It'S just that you want to be precise, okay, girls. So after our bleach, the hair, I let it process in foil for about 45 minutes. I don't go longer than that and that's just my preference. I don't like to over process hair on the first try, but, as you can see, this is a nice beautiful color like if I wanted a blond. This has a lot of dimension and this will work really well, but I need this hair to get as light as possible, so I'm gon na bleach it twice. I rather bleach it twice for the same processing time, then just leave it as long as I can and as you can see my alley, Gray's hair processes beautifully, it didn't lose any of the luster after I bleached the hair, and this is an optional step. I thought I'd include as well. If you don't want your blonds to be brassy or you want more like a true tone purple rather than like a red based purple, you can go in with some shimmer lights shampoo and it will get rid of like the red tones in the hair hey. This is my favorite part, okay, so these were the colors that I started out with and notice. I said started out with anyway. Moving on, I was trying the one and only argan oil, pure purple and neon purple. All in all, I got three packs, so two other pure purple, one of the neon purple and for the roots I'm using Clairol's semi-permanent color in the color 99, which is bluest black and y'all. This was a mess. Okay, first problem was: I got three packs of dye and note that I have four long, bundles of hair and a closure, so I didn't have enough dye. Secondly, before I use this color, I didn't see any reviews or anything, I'm guessing us a newer line. So I had to just wing it. I didn't know how I was gon na turn out. I diluted that color a little bit with some conditioner, because the purple looked really bold and really concentrated so but yeah that can't be good. Let me add some conditioner just to dilute the color a little bit and yeah. So that's what I did and, as usual, if you've watched my color videos before I never do one color straight from top to bottom. I like mixing it. Sometimes I do like a gradient a little bit of the lighter color on the bottom darker color on the top, and I like to mix purples and that's how I get like multi dimensional hair. So what you see in these clips is in one half of the bowl. I have the pure purple color only and in the other half of the bowl I have the pure purple and the neon purple mixed and I diluted both colors because they were too intense. Undiluted both of them with conditioner and I'm gon na show you guys how that turned out. Oh alright y'all. So this is the color that I got y'all see my face. I'M doing my nighttime routine right now. So after all that time I spent washing the hair, letting it dry and then to see the real color payoff. That'S not what I wanted. I mean in other circumstances. I would go for this color, but I had a specific look at my mind and I wanted that look. Ok, so I had to make it exactly the purple that I wanted. So I went with my favorite purple, color of all time, adore color, you guys adored temporary color in the shade purple rage and I just slapped a couple bottles of that all over my whatever purple. That was color hair, and this is the result that I got. It'S perfect, okay, so now that we've learned our lesson on why we shouldn't use products, we don't see reviews for we're ready to bleach the closure for bleaching. The knots on the closure and knots are those micro, knots or micro attachment points at the base of the lace and so that the color of the lace can look more scalp like and that's another tip to getting your wig laid. But the reason I save this step for last is that there's a technique to it with your bleach. You have to make the bleach thick enough, so it's not gon na leak through the holes in the closure and you have to barely apply it to the closure. So I apply it with patting motions. I never sweep it across. I just Pat it lightly and I make sure I cover all of the lace with the bleach and developer mixture. The same that I use to bleach the virgin hair and then I process that for about 45 minutes the same time that I process my my bundles and climb the mountain for you swim through the ocean. I just want you to know I'm down, and this is a result I got so now, I'm happy after all those trials and tribulations I'm ready to make my wig. In my mind, it's like my updated take on the Justine Skye purple. Color, that's great on all skin tones really do y'all see this color though it has so much dimension. It looks so rich in the sunlight. I really like it and some of the undertones from the previous color that I use kind of peeks through. So it's not just one block of purple. I really did that on this color, you guys so, and this wing I've been wearing almost every day. Since I filmed this video, which was a long time ago, this video was so long overdue, but I'm gon na say that this grace hair is the bomb I have used their hair before. I don't know if you guys remember my last grace hair video, but in that video I show you guys how to do a sew-in, but their straight hair is so good. It stays soft, it doesn't get dry, it colors like a dream, and this is how the 26 inches comes on me. It'S very true to length and yeah.
