Hi everyone: it's will the wig maker here um. I thought i'd do a little video of how i know my legs um, this wig that i'm working on it is a synthetic wig. It'S going to be and when it's fully made it'll be on like an aging cosplay, wig um, it's all synthetic um, it's completely handmade. I made all the foundation, which is full lace. Um. I'Ve always wanted to make a agreeing aging wig. So i thought i'd give it a try. So what i'm about to show you um are called single knots. Um they're, the smallest knots that you get in a wig and they'll lay flat um. If they're going all going in one direction, so i'll be quiet and let you enjoy, but before i do go quiet, um. The way that i'm knotting this it's just a completely random placement - and i like to work this way because it looks less. It looks more natural, actually um if you're too generic with your knotting placement or ventilating placement and the weight can look quite manufactured and the whole point of a wig is for it to not look like a wig. It'S supposed to look like real hair, even though this is synthetic here, i'm using. I still like to give it that extra element of realism, so i shall continue. Usually i'm a lot quicker than this, but as i'm camera shy, i've suddenly became a bit slower, but i'm sure you'll forget me anyway. Here we go, please forgive any background noise um, it's not my fault um. I have to have the window open because it's absolutely roasting here in edinburgh and people are cutting their grass and pruning their bushes and all that good stuff. Actually i'll just talk all the way through this because uh well, i can um yeah, so i thought i'd. Try um to see what this new camera feels like um i've seen other samples of work that i've done before um, i'm not a camera person, i'm a wig maker, so um go easy on the um, the filming comments, because i'm a wig maker, not a camera Person um yeah so recently well i'll, say recently for months, i've been planning my very own wig making course um, because there's absolutely no wig making classes in scotland that i've heard of or can find. So i thought i'd create my own with what i've learned and obviously right now i will all be online based until the craziness of this world quiet and stone a little bit and we can do in-house training. So i'm really looking forward to that. So, as you can see, as i'm knotting i'm using this finger as tension, this makes the knots go nice and tight and small see that, because, if you have tighter knots, there's less chance of the wig shedding and repair working done, which costs quite a lot of Money because, as you can see, knotting a wig is quite labor intensive and if you were using human hair, there's that cost as well. So the tighter the knots, the better the wick - and that's me, finished with that small section over here.
