Hey our slope is Mickey to barber and today's video we're gon na talk about the difference between the pu base and the lake space. Alright, quick disclaimer. I do not make units by hand, I do not ventilate eunuchs um, but the one thing that I can do is give you more knowledge about the ones that are being made. Okay now before we get into the pros and the cons of each base. I do want to tell you guys that both bases were perfectly fine. It'S really kind of just based upon a preference and lifestyle, so you know like if your client, you know, there's an active lifestyle, then you know they need to give you a pretty good idea of which base to go with all right. John first, I'm gon na tell you guys about my pu base so like the pu base is a potty skin, but it's a it's a thick layer of skin so, as you can tell it's kind of hard, so the reason why I like this base is because Of the hold, once you put it with with the adhesive the whole, it's like a suction cup, so the whole it lasts and lasts the whole last, so it lasts up to maybe like two to three weeks before you know what I'm saying before you have to Take it off and reapply it, but if I have some guy that I know that's gon na be dancers, guys that they, you being a Gemini, they do a lot of high activity. I do advise for them to do the pu cuz of their hold. Now. Another thing is because the the base is so thick that it lasts longer. The actual unit as a whole laugh is longer. So I had one client that had this PU unit last, maybe like seven eight months um and I was amazed, so I don't think they last that long, but the fact that he was able to make that PU laughter. You know they just let me know that if you take care of it, it can last longer than thirty four months. So that wants us to think about the PU and also the cleaning the cleaning of it. So you know because it's like it's so thick, you know what I'm saying when I spray the c22 on there and clean it right off. So that's that's a good thing about the being able to just easily clean the base of it so boom all right. Now the thing that I don't like about the PU base is the fact that, because it's so thick that you know if I can't really cut it down as low as I would like, so you know it's not the same color as the skin. So if you put it down too low and it exposes the Scout, it might look a little off. So the fact that you know I make sure that my clients wearing, if they're wearing something it with a little bit of more hair, like maybe like an inch of hair, something like some curls or something like that. So just you know turn that so just keep in mind and the PU you can't really cut as low as you would like. It'S like to cut it. Another thing is because another because it's thick that you and it doesn't have any holes in it. So your scalp is not really getting a lot of breathing room, so um. I do have some clients that be like you know. I need some more ventilation and you know I get my scalp and I really breathe in so that's when I will switch them over to the other unit. Now the other base is the lay space. Now, if you can see the lace face, let you guys see in a little bit. You can say it has holes in it. So that's for the ventilation, so my guys are getting airflow through this unit. Another thing with this is that you can cut this very low and the scalp will be exposed and it won't look unnatural. It look more natural when this is cut low, so you can cut this down for like a 1 and a half, maybe a 1 a, and it won't look weird. Another thing is because you can use the because it looks so natural to the scalp that I use the lace base for hairstyles that a spoke scalp like corn rolls plaques dredge man-bun stuff, like that. I'M gon na use the lace base for because once you, if the scalp is exposed in point, look weird it'll look more natural with the lace base. Now the thing that I don't like about the lace is because that you can tell you know it's it's lace. So it's kind of you know so me and together now some sometimes the little wire and you know it'll come out. So you know the the unit the base of the unit of started coming apart, so that hints for replacement or a new unit. So with the lace, this doesn't last longer than three or four months, because you know if you're not taking good care of it um and then you have some of these little things start coming out because the basis could so the so the clients. Here sometimes, you might start coming apart a little early. So that's the thing that I don't like about. The lace so happens, while you're cleaning the unit that you know some some. Some of this, the string will come out while you're cleaning it and that's what makes this unit a little bit harder to clean. Now you can clean it, you can definitely can clean it. They definitely have tools and products for you to be able to clean this unit, but that doesn't mean that there won't be some wiring coming out and stuff like that. So that's the one thing that I don't really like about this unit, all right, Josh. I gave you out my pros and my cons on each of the bases, if you guys have any more questions, leave them in the comment section and I'll try my best to answer them and again both of these units can be purchased at www.mptv.org, thanks for watching

speedy car: Nah I genuinely have love for this woman true artist and passion for her work, more health and wealth

Michele Shepherd-Tigner: Hey Mickey! I have to say, with the lace, it is definitely more breathable and when you have a scratch in the scalp, you can actually scratch and feel the scalp. It literally felt as if I had nothing but my own hair on my head. The PU base looks hot, but maybe perfect for the colder seasons. The plastic base should keep the head nice and warm. The lace is perfect for the summer because your scalp can breathe and not sweat as much. Either way, I’m thankful to have felt air on my head once again. Keep rocking it!

Shamar Magby: You right about that PU......I have to install my own and PU definitely last through my gym workouts......I use the thinnest PU and it work perfect. I started using 1 layer of Walker tape over the ghost bond and its like magic

TheBlackSheCat: Oh my bleeping goodness, Mickey! That polyurethane (PU) unit does look too hot to wear! My core body temperature increased by 20 degrees just looking at the thing! Hehe... I love this pros and cons video you created. All of your work is AWESOME, by the way. Thanks for being so informative, creative, and incredibly brilliant. I wish you the absolute best.

Dee Dee H: @Mickey Da Barber, here's something that you may want to try to slow down the fraying on the lace units, it's called Dritz Fray Check and I use it on wefted tracks and lace to prevent shedding and fraying. It has been used in the "weave community" for years and it works. A little goes a long way when done properly. You are an amazing Barber Stylist a true Master of the craft. Thank you for all that you bring to the Barber and Cosmo world.

Donna Simpson: Hi Mickley I have been doing hair systems in the UK for over 20 years now (love your work by the way) and for darker skinned clients blacks and Asians we order them the darker/brown pu so it looks more natural to their skin tone. Your supplier should be able to provide the same

M. Sam’uel: Hi Mickey, Happy Sunday evening to you. I hope you are doing well and staying safe. Great informative information about the pros and cons to the different bases. Thank you so much for sharing this. Sending positive vibes your way for a wonderful night. ✌❤️

PINKY BLISS: I showed my mother a few of your videos.. she went on your website and purchased the PU unit and the rest of the products, and had me install it. The PU looks so real since it's clear and the hair quality, and seems really durable. Totally worth every penny. Thank you

Jon Odwyer: Thank you so much for this valuable information, I will definitely take this on board. I appreciate your honest thoughts and advice regarding the pro and cons of both units. You are the best as far as I'm concerned in your profession. Best wishes from the UK.

Critics: There are some other lace quality patches which lasts much longer than 3-4 months. You should try them too.

Justin Floyd: First off, I love your work. So I’m active and I have enough hair to have a braid down under the unit. Would you recommend having it sewn down or should I just use the adhesive?

Sandra Corless: Hey Mickey good info on the pros and cons is there any special care with the unit? and how did you get into this? you and your magic keep up the good work and see you in the next video

Rey Casiano: Mickey, love your artistry. I got a quick question, how long do the hair last for ?

J Anderson: Can you do a video on how you got started? Also.. if the client chooses, can you explain how their baldness occured? Sometimes it can be hereditary or just by something simple. I think that would help put in perspective how to continue to care for our scalps. Just a thought
