Quick And Easy Poly Wig Base Repair [Tutorial] - Great For Wigs And Toupees With Thin Skin Base

If you wear your poly base frequently, it is possible that you may have already experienced a hole or tear as a result of daily wear. This easy tutorial will instruct you on the way to repair a hole or tear in the skin base or poly perimeter.

The poly skin base is thin and flexible. The cap appears to have a pink tint, but will blend with the skin once adhesive is applied, the inside of the base is smooth and the outside has a slightly different texture. The caps usually tear around the perimeter, but that can easily be repaired. Locate the area that is in need of repair gather your tools to begin the repair process, identify the area in need of repair flip the base inside-out and place it on the wig head. Do not lose sight of the torn area. Use T pins to secure the base to the wig head, be careful. Remove the base from the weekend. You still may be able to see the tear, but do not worry, it has been completely sealed. The base remains flexible and durable.
