Hair System Tutorial: How To Apply A Lace Front For A Natural Hairline | Lordhair

Learning how to reapply a lace front is a key part of your hair system routine. Hairdresser Frankie gives an in-depth hair system tutorial to show how he attaches the front part of his Lordhair Neo stock hair system (https://www.lordhair.com/neo-mens-hair...).

Wearing a hair system means you will have to do a full removal and reattachment on a regular basis. How regular you do it depends on many factors but reapplying the front of your hair system might be something you do every week or two as is the case for Frankie.

Watch and learn how to use glue to reattach a lace front hair system as Frankie demonstrates in great detail just what he does as part of his hair system routine. Know that you could also apply this technique to a hair system with a poly front.

What you need: rat tail comb, hairbrush, hair clips, spray bottle of water, hair system glue, isopropyl alcohol

Hello, everyone, my name is frankie and i am going to be showing y'all today how to apply the front lace of yellow hair systems. Um, i made a video a while back talking about how to actually apply the entire system. Well, after around, like the one to two week, mark um, i know for me - i have to do like the front part because it starts lifting and it starts not looking cute. So i'm going to show you how i do that real quick, it's a very quick process, it's about like 30 minutes so like if you're doing this at home. This is something you do like before you go to an event or like maybe like the day before you go to an event, it's just to keep everything nice and like refreshed and give you the most longevity out of your wares. So without further ado, we can just go ahead and get on started. Okay, so before we get started, i'm gon na go over to some of the materials we're gon na be using today. To kind of like give you all like a heads up of what we're going to be doing so first, i would like to start off with a nice little rat tail comb. These are perfect for getting little spots. I'Ll show you more in depth what i use with this in a second um, some clips clip your hair back um water bottle for the very end to kind of like freshen everything up, and then we also have um some wood glue. We'Re not going to be using any tape, we're just using glue today um. I also have a hairbrush and you're also going to want to get some isopropyl alcohol to clean your scalp. That'S in my bathroom, so i'm gon na get that in just a second um and then i believe that is pretty much all we're gon na be doing for this tutorial um i'm gon na go ahead and get you all nice and close up. So we can really get into it and i can show you what i'm doing and then yeah. We can just go on and get started. Okay, so i'm close up now and you can kind of see the unit um the unit. Just like this, like it's really hard to even tell like it's a wig and especially from like a distance, you really can't tell um. So it's completely not on my scalp at all. It literally comes right up um. So the fact that it looks that good, when it's not even glued down um is very helpful because i know, like i get a little lazy, sometimes with my applications but um. So it's nice to know like if i am feeling a little bit lazy um. It looks just fine just like this um, also like, if i'm out and about in town and like doing stuff i'll, just like put a bandana over my head, like that, like all the way around tied up i'll just like do that around town. If i don't feel like dealing with my hairline um, it's so quick and easy or you can just wear a hat. I used to wear hats a lot too um. So let's see here so we're gon na start off with going ahead and clipping everything back. I'M gon na just spritz it down with some water real quick just a little bit. I usually hold down the front, so i can get all the hairs. You'Re gon na look crazy at first. That'S for sure it's gon na look really flat in the front, but it's fine because you're, just lifting it up anyway and it'll all it'll all be fixed in the end. Wigs are definitely a trust to process kind of situation and i have learned that throughout the times of me, wearing wigs and stuff, so i'm gon na grab some clips and i'm just going to kind of like clip these front sections that was god awful. Let'S see, let me get like actually in there. These clips is good to like actually put it like down on the base, and this is just to keep like hair from like getting everywhere and getting in your way and stuff. There we go so everything's out of the way. So while i'm going in and i'm actually like doing everything, i don't have to worry about little pieces of hair getting stuck underneath or anything so we're going to kind of lift it up and as you can see, all that lace is exposed and i just got Ta go and clean my scalp real, quick um, so let me get a little wipey. It'S definitely very important to make sure you clean your scalp um before you do any application, because um, if there's any oils on there, it's just not gon na, be a good time and you're going to experience a lot more lifting and, although, like the scalp, didn't Like look particularly like too disgusting, when i show you this white pad you're going to be like oh um, so as you can see like that, all came just from like my forehead um, which is why i stress the importance of making sure you clean your front. Scalp before you go in and start like, gluing things down and whatnot, so that's got cleaned. We'Ve got the hair pulled back so now i'm just gon na actually literally just go in and just do the actual glue part. So i'm actually gon na make that a new clip, okay, so we're ready for the actual gluing part. So for this process, i'm gon na be using some ghost bond wig glue and i'm also going to be using this little applicator that i got from work. I'M a hair stylist, so i get like a bunch of like different tools: um, it's just like a little rubbery thing, it's great for just like painting on the glue without like getting like too much. You could also use um. Popsicle sticks. I'Ve seen a lot of people use those um. You could also use a rat tail comb if that's too thin for you. You can use a little bit like a thicker end um, but what works for me. The best, is definitely one of these things. So um don't not too sure where you can get them um. If i knew i would let you know um like i said i just got this from work. They just like gave us give it to us in like a little package. So i'm gon na talk. You through it as i'm doing it so what i'm gon na be doing is i'm gon na be adding dots of glue all around here and then, after that, i'm going to go in and just spread it all the way down. I'M going to go a little bit further than what you than what i believe where my hairline is only because i want to make sure everything gets nice and coated, and then once it's all done, i can go just. I can go in with like a little alcohol wipe and just wipe off any excess glue that doesn't have any hair on it. So um, let's go ahead and let's get straight into it now layer wise, so it's always best to layer, your glues and by layering. I mean dotting it spreading it down letting it dry and then doing the process over again. The more you do that the more you're gon na create a barrier between your skin and the wig, so that way, um sweat doesn't break through. Now i've been wearing this unit for about two weeks now, so i'm not gon na i'm, not gon na, actually do three to four layers that i usually do if it was like a new um, a new application, i'm only gon na do two layers just because The back, although it's secure, it's still pretty loose - and i am gon na - want everything to come off within the next week or two so that i can actually do the full thing and actually clean the unit clean. My scalp clean the lace do all that cleaning in about like a week or two's time. Yeah, i'm only gon na be doing two layers, so that way, i it will still be able to come off pretty easily whenever it's ready to come off and clean. The entire system, so if i get quiet in this part, it's because i'm working usually on the glue you'll get like residue on the tip. So i just kind of like just i literally just pick that off like this and it all comes off and then make sure it's gon na come out. So let's get started, you just want to do just a little bit. I'M telling you like with wig glue a little bit goes such a long way. That'S all you need for the first layer like i'm, not even joking your thing and now we're just going to paint make sure you kind of like get up under there a little bit and it's just like painting, y'all and, like i said, i'm gon na go A little bit lower than what i think it needs to be just so i have enough room so now, everything's on and you're just gon na, like let it dry for a minute, nothing too crazy, because if it's still wet it's gon na the glue is gon Na become too thick, you want it to be almost dry so that way, whenever you're ready to go in and actually put the wig on, there's not like so much like space between skin glue and wig. You want it to be a nice like seamless application. If you were to put it on to put more glue on too early it'll, like i said it's going to start to mix and that barrier is going to be even thicker, so it's definitely an art. This definitely takes some practice and it's pretty much dry and clear. Now we're not quite there yet and then to test it i'll, get like a rat tail comb and yeah we're ready for another one, because i use such thin sections that it will go quick. So i'm just gon na go back in another dot or more dots a little bit more in the middle, because that's usually like where i get like the most lift is in this area right here like right in the very middle. Of course, it's always like the middle, where i part my hair, and now we just go back into painting, always clean your brush off of any excess glue. Every single time you go into add more because i've had issues where i've had like little um tags of glue. Just all over the place now remember this application does not need to be perfect. Wigs are never perfect the more when you have some imperfections it makes it look more real, so don't stress about it. Looking completely 100 perfect having everything where it needs to be. Don'T worry about that because in the long run nine out of 10 times no one's gon na be able to clock up the wig whenever you have really good lace in the front, it's gon na be even harder for people to tell um you just want it To feel secure for you - and you know, i've been doing this for a long time. So that's, why, like at the end, mine's gon na look pretty nice um, but practice makes perfect so, like the more you do it, the more you're gon na be able to understand, what's happening and be able to execute what you're trying to do with your hair. So i kind of let it get like a little bit tacky before i start like pushing things down, so it's pretty much there. Let me check real quick with my comb, see how you get like a little bit of like resistance. That'S what you want now remember with wig glue. Nothing is permanent until you press down, so you are still able to move everything, but just know as soon as you like press down and add pressure to it. It'S done like it's going to lock in as soon as you do that, so we're going to unhook everything i'm going to slowly roll it down. I'M gon na grab these corners and then i'm just going to grab them from the underneath kind of like push down a bit, and you can already see it already looks so good just like that. So at this point, if you wanted to, you could add baby hairs, i used to add baby hairs. I'M not too big of a baby hair person anymore, but i am going to go in and just kind of like press roll go up, press roll up, press roll up, and it's not even like locked and locked in yet like this is just to where i Can go in and i can grab these little hairs here in a second so with this rat tail comb is what i was talking about. I can go in. I kind of like grab like the hairs that are like around. Don'T worry about your style right now, because we're going to style it once the bandana's on right now, i'm just trying to get all of these little baby hairs out of here. I'M gon na add a little bit more glue right in here, but for that i'm going to literally just put it on the rat tail like that little bit. That'S literally all you need i'm just going to kind of lift this up right there. Okay, all right under it kind of spread it around, like i said, does not be perfect. It was just that one spot was bothering me and then press and don't be worried if you get these little hairs. I like attach, because we're going to do this exact same thing after the bandana has been on all right. So the glue is on the wig is on the hair system. Is on get my bandana um there's a few things you could use bandanas work the best for me because i can get them really tight um, but i'm just gon na put it like right here. I'M gon na try and like lift all this hair out of the way right in there and you're going to want to pull tight. You want it to be secure all right, and so now we're going to let it dry for i'll, say about like 10 minutes about 10 minutes or so um just to get everything all nice and secured in there um. In the meantime, though, i'm going we're going to go in and we're going to actually style my hair with the bandana on so that way like whenever we take the bandana off hair is already like halfway to the end point, so i'm gon na go ahead and Get started with that all right, so everything is drying right now, so in the meantime we're gon na go and we're gon na actually style. My hair, like i normally do. I literally woke up, maybe like two hours ago. So that's why my hair looked crazy. So i'm gon na actually style it now um i just pretty much get away. I was using like quite a few hair products um a while back ago, whenever i was doing my hair, but now i've noticed like the less hair products i use the longer. The actual hair lasts and i can get away with like actually like three to four weeks, with a style going on so um with your hair product, like with my hair products, i've been doing now, is i've been doing like a leave-in, um conditioner and, like a Shine oil i've been doing that like every time i wash my hair but other than that um every once in a while i'll put in maybe like a shine spray like once a week or so just to keep it nice and fresh, but other than that. That'S all the products i use is just whenever i first apply it so lately, like i said i haven't been using a lot of hair products, just been using water and just brushing it and that's been working out perfectly fine for me and it's making sure that, Because what happens sometimes with products, the hair will get heavy and it'll just like start to lightly flatten your face, and that's i mean it's cute for like some things, but not for everything i like more of like a more voluminous, wavy kind of style. So, let's get it, i literally just sprayed all of it just like missed it, and the cool thing about this is that you're able to go in and actually style, your hair. While the front is drying and then you can do work on the you can work on the front after it's like done drying, so i'm just going to brush everything. I always just brush it back now. Whenever you brush, you don't ever want to like dig. You want to do more of like a glide like what i'm doing right here, because i've seen some people that like go like in, and just please do not do that with wigs. Please, like whatever you do. Do not like do that with wigs, because you're gon na everything's hand tied so when it's hand tied it's a little bit more fragile, so and you're gon na experience shedding no matter what kind of wig you're wearing so the less pressure you put on it. The better and then i usually do a middle part um. Well, it's weird. I do the middle part, but everything's like kind of like push back, but by the end of the day it becomes a middle part again give it a quick shake. So i kind of like what you saw just right there. It was then a middle part. I kind of like brush it down, shake it out and then push everything back again to kind of get like a little bit more like that wave and now you have like this part right here that we need to work on. So i just pretty much just grab this and i just go all the way up push it back once it's there then push to the front and pretty much that's how i would style my hair, like if i'm getting ready for work. I would just do this real quick in the morning before, like i start like going out about with my day um because then, like i said the front parts, it's super easy once we take this off, i'm going to show you with like a little rat tail Comb how to get everything all nice and perfect, but then the majority of your style is already done um, as for, like my actual hair on the sides, because the size of my actual hair um, nobody talk about it, but i am growing my hair out um. So that's why it looks a little bit crazy in the back um. I think i'm gon na do like two more of like these, like fun colors and then i'm gon na take everything back to like my natural color and just let it grow out, because i want like kind of like a bradley cooper kind of like look but Um that's later on that line, i'm trying to like grow it out first, so i'm gon na. Let everything continue drying all right, so the actual unit is ready to be taken down or not the unit, but the banana is ready to be taken down. So we kind of like see what's underneath now, when i take this down, don't be alarmed if you see some crazy looking spots because they're all gon na get fixed in the end, do not worry so just gently boom that came out really good. There'S only a few spots, so i'm gon na just push everything back real, quick. While i go and edit this so now like these right here. These are fine. This makes it look like it's like even more natural, and then i kind of like to go in right here in the middle kind of like lift that up, because you don't want it to be like flat flat like you want it to be flat, of course, But you don't want it to be like two inches of flat. You just want to be kind of like pretty much flat at the base, i'm kind of like what i'm doing is i'm fluffing up these pieces right here, kind of fluffing them up a bit. Releasing the glue get in here, sometimes you just go in with just with your finger like that, one that just came unhooked and, like i said like all this right here. That'S fine! It'S gon na just look all natural at the end! Get some more in here and kind of like saw where it was like really flat right there and i kind of lifted it up now, once everything's all pretty much released from the glue and everything you got everything pretty much fluffed up. It takes a minute to get there, but once we're there, it's all fine. Now i just go in and just spray a little like a little bit of water, just to kind of like refresh and everything all you need. Then it's okay to go back in there too. Sometimes i'll go in with like my middle finger at the part, but hey props, the lord here, because i'm this close and y'all it looks, looks real natural and this is gon na, be the neo unit um. It'S gon na be in the color 1b. It'S going to be a medium light density, so it's not full medium density um, but with um hair systems. You really don't need a whole lot of density because the more density it has the more wiggly it looks um. So less is sometimes more when it comes to wigs, i'm just going with the rat tail comb. I learned this in a hair class because you kind of like style the hair with a little rat tail, so it's not dry yet and once it dries i'll, be able to like go and do more so but pretty much. This is where i wear my hair. All the time and yeah so once it's dry, i'm gon na come back and then we can do any finishing touches and we can just go from there. So i will be back in just a moment. Okay, so my hair is dry for a little bit and i love it so much. It is all nice and dry now um. The hairline is all complete again um, so it's not like 100 dry, but i have to get to work soon. So um it's gon na like dry, the rest of the car and everything, but i pretty much wear my hair like this. I have like the two front pieces and then i have everything kind of like pushed back, but as you can see, everything is all nice and secure now and then we'll give you a couple little angles from like all around you can tell i like more of A um flowy, wavy kind of like situation. I don't like anything to like precise or very, like you know, clean cut or anything, i'm very much of a go with the flow kind of person. I feel like i reflect that in my hair, but um. This just proves that you know anyone can be into wigs whether you want to have more of like a flat top kind of like military style or, if you're, someone like me and you're more on the artsy side, and you want more of like trendy, trendier haircuts. Um, i feel, like lord hair, caters to pretty much anyone wanting to experiment and begin the process of wearing hair um, and i love them for that because they give you a lot of like opportunity like. If you want to be clean-cut, you totally could. But if you want to be more like artsy totally can like there's just there's so many options when it comes to wearing hair um, and i just love it so much. But you can kind of like see the close-ups, like you see how it literally looks like it's growing out of my scalp. The way i'm like sitting right here, i think that's like so cool but um. I am very pleased with what i have done. Um i'll probably get a little bit more volume up in this area once it dries some more but um, 10 out of 10 very, very pleased very satisfied. This is the neo unit and it's got a medium to light density. It can be found on the lord hair website and thank you all again so much for watching. I hope this is very helpful for y'all. I hope i kind of like you know like break a lot of your stresses with um gluing, your own hair systems. I know can be a little bit daunting and scary at first, but practice makes perfect and there's so many people out there that have so many tips and advice. I'M glad i was able to help y'all in any way possible, um and yeah. So until the next video thank you again so much. I hope you'll have a great rest day.

Lordhair: How do you reapply your front hairline and how often?

Esteban Rico: This is really useful because I'm still struggling with reattaching my hairline with liquid adhesive

Steven Homing: I feel like there are no good videos that show the entire process of removing, cleaning scalp and wig, and reapplying with the type of models that are thin skin and lace in the front. Could Frankie possible do a video on this? I like his tutorial the best it would be a life saver. thank you.

RuleofFive: You know I keep hearing people that wear hair systems say you can't show a lace hairline but I think your exposed hair line looks very realistic. I'm sure it's also cooler in Houston wearing a lace system and not a thin skin.

Snowwalker: Thanks for the great detailed video. Do you use leave-in conditioner too? Is that true that conditioners weaken the base of the hair in these hair systems?

Ethan Culver: Do you recommend tape or glue for very active, sweaty guys? I’m having issues with the hairline coming up after just 1 day of installation with Walker tape.

Ahmad Ali: Can you notice that the front hair line is stuck when you touch it?

Heart Square Music: I find the middle front part to be a bit visually concerning here. Are all of your units like this? Should you really not part down the middle?

فاطمه fato555: What is kind of your hair system? And density?

Sergio Tevere: hi i am an italian boy, i put my first poly prosthesis. The water glue comes off, maybe it is not suitable for my skin. I'm using that acrylic .. have you ever used it? do you have any advice to make everything perfect?

curious: Totally drip Frankie. U got the look :)

basedC3PO: Your hair system separated rlly easily as u were brushing it. Did u rlly have it on for multiple weeks???

Meow Meow: I ordered the same one. But the roots in mine doesnt look as natural as yours -- a little disappointed to be honest.

Joseph Dorino: Do you have Lord hair cut it for you and if you do what do you do for the sides and back?

Darwin Hardin: What system do you have .

Santiago Carrillo: I want one don’t know where to start , color , hair system size etc . I live in Denver colorado and saw on your page there is a hair salon who is partner with your company was wondering if I make an appointment they will help measure and determine hair color

ahmad safula: Please add Arabic translation.

Think Different: Are you sure this is #1B color? I ordered #2 from you but it looks darker than this.

NY Acoustics: its still lacking density at the part , its a giveaway. its not bad but nowhere near perfect

TheEnchantedForester: How did you lose your actual hair?

John Farey: I would not been seen dead with a syrup on my head

Juanito Paulito: Iblike this kind of hair piece

A m: never ordering from them again
