Hi everyone today we're going to compare cool blonde colors from paula young, so stay tuned, hi. Everyone welcome back to my channel, i'm coco, and this is coco's hair solutions. What we're going to do today is take a look at this medium range of dark blonde light brown colors into the frosted colors of almost a gray and we're going to stick to not the golden blondes, but we're going to stick to the cool blondes. So what i have are six young ladies here that all fall into this category and i've chosen them for specific reasons, so that we can look at and compare these colors side by side because they can be very confusing when you look at the color chart. So let's take a look at the color chart, so these are paula. This is paula, young's color chart. Now i've got them in order of dark going into light and of course, they're numbered. And then we have our preferred colors all down here and we have blends so the ones that i chose for today are uptown brown. It says it's a brownish blonde, okay, uptown brown, then we're going to do sugar and spice that's 1701 light ash brown, platinum ash blonde frosted. So you hear the word ash. That means cool, so we're gon na we're gon na try and consolidate all these cool colors together. We'Re gon na take a look at warm toffee, which is 18 22.. The descriptor says light ash brown with light blonde frosted. So that's another one. It sounds almost like what we saw right here: we're also going to take a look at mocha, frost, 24 14, and that is a brownish blonde with light ash blonde frosted. So you see there's that ash word again now, i'm going to also include down here in the preferred or the the salon colors i'm gon na include buttered, toast and misty mocha misty mocha has that word mist, so that implies like a gray fog mist. So that's a cool color and then i know from experience and from my previous uh videos talking with you that butter toast is a cool blonde, so i thought i'd bring her in and use her as a comparison, so that you can see the range all right. I did choose to leave off sun kissed blonde, mainly because the name implies sun kissed, it implies warmth, even though it does say medium ash blonde, but it has medium gold blonde highlights so we'll save that one for the warm um comparison. Okay, so we have six young, ladies over here, we'll review what what their colors are. I also wanted to wear a warm blonde and this is juliette in the color caramel bourbon, and you obviously can see the warmth and the gold that is in this. So we can compare side by side. Okay, okay, let's get started okay, so i have at the this end of the table. I have buttered toast and i wanted to bring her in, to show you how close she is to the beginning of those ash light brown, colors and heading towards blonde and gray. So the one behind her is uptown brown, and so let's look at these guys. Together. All right side by side you can see this has a butter. Toast has a little bit more gold in it, but, as we saw on our previous videos, she is very ashy looking compared to some of the warmth that we might see in other wigs. So the uptown brown is a very nice medium light brown and, although she looks like she does have some highlights in her um, she is very, very close to the same color intensity and shading, but you can tell how she's just barely a little bit more ashy. Looking or cool looking alrighty, so this is uptown brown and this is um buttered, toast all right. So the next wigs that i have here are getting a little bit lighter and heading toward the lightest ash shade. So this young lady here is donna and she's in the misty mocha color that sf 13 16. and you can tell she's, got a lot more highlights, but she does have that medium, ashy brown underneath and that's mixed in all together. It has a tendency to look a little bit darker when we compare it to 18 slash 22. and look at see it's just slightly golden, but you know what it's almost negligible so either one of these young ladies, the sf13, slash 16 misty mocha or the 18-22. Warm toffee are very, very close. They all have that light ash brown with a light blonde frost on it, so they're very, very close. This is donna from jacqueline smith by the way - and this is jenna jenna from paula young's line, then. Finally, the last two that we're going to compare is eden eden in 2412. That number is mocha frost, it's a brownish blonde with a light ash blonde frosted. So here we go. We have a lot of light ash blonde frosting on all of these colors and they make them look very very similar, but you can see how she is a lighter overall color. There'S less highlights on this young, lady and um. So it does make her look a little bit lighter now in comparison to 17-101. This is sugar and spice, and you can really see how light and ashy she is. She'S got a lot of platinum. Her descriptors say, light ash brown, so there we go with that same uh ash brown base, but it has platinum ash blonde frosted. So instead of light brown blonde frosted, it's platinum, so we are getting more icy in our color range. So when you look at them together, you can see a little bit difference, even though this was looking cool. It'S now looking warmer compared to the platinum, the sugar and spice and then, of course, compared to my juliet. They both look cool, don't they yeah. So, let's take a look at them right here there we go, oh, and by the way, this young lady is dance, and this one is eden. So when you have a chance to look at all of them together, they they you can tell you, can tell the different subtle changes between them two, but when you're looking in the catalog, it's very difficult to see exactly what these differences mean. So we have very similar descriptors same ingredients, but probably just in different proportions and then, of course, take into consideration the style of the wig that you're ordering you might be able to see a little bit more highlights and frost on a on a shorter wig. Like dance rather than a longer wig now, unless it's a sf hair hair treatment, so you're going to get a lot more definition of highlights and low lights on your sf, so that would be the misty mocha and buttered toast. You would see that that range. So very interesting: isn't it so you know what we need to do now. We need to take these girls outside. Let'S go okay, so here are these young ladies out in the daylight, and it is filtered daylight. The sun is out, the sky is blue. I have um all these ladies exposed in the shade and the only direct sunlight. I have is just right here on this one wig, i believe so they're in the exact same order as they were inside the house, but you can see they're taking on a little different hue. This one, which is eden in the color 2414 mocha frost, is a wig shop. Wig and the fibers are different, and so they will take on a different color. They won't have the same color reflection, so it's looking uh warmer out here in the sunlight here. We have um donna in the color sf-13 and that is misty mocha. All right. You see all the dimension in that she's, looking rather a little bit warm but still cool. Nonetheless, we have our buttered toast on sierra and then we have uptown brown. So you can see how close they are, the buttered toast and the uptown brown. It has a little. The uptown brown has a little bit of dimension in um when you get sunlight on it. It'S going to reflect and give you that um beautiful dimension of having not just one color of the fiber in there, and then we have uh up here. This is jenna and she is in the color warm toffee 1822.. She looks very cool when, especially when you compare her to donna, but this is misty mocha or warm. Excuse me warm toffee. This is misty. Mocha warm toffee is cooler. Can you see the difference there? It'S a little darker as well, so if you're not quite ready to go too white or too light with your shading and then finally, we have our sugar and spice on dance, and you can really see how this uh platinum really highlights the colors of the medium. What is it light ash brown yeah on the base, light ash brown and most all of the other wigs use a brownish blonde, so it starts with a blonde color and they darken it a little bit over. Here we have the light ash brown with the platinum ash blonde, so you can see the differences in these colors. I was really surprised how to see how closely buttered, toast and uptown brown were and uh. You know to the naked eye and not on a video. They do look very very close, so well, that's it for my comparison on the cool blonde colors. Wasn'T that interesting! Well, thank you so much for joining me today. I hope this was helpful for you. It was extremely helpful to me and we will take a look at the warm blondes here coming up sometime soon, all right, thanks again and we'll see you next time on coco's hair solutions, bye-bye

Marie S: Thank you so much for comparing these colors. It's very helpful and especially when they are in the outside light. ❤️

Gervaise Christiansen: Your color comparison series are just invaluable! Thank you so very much for all you do to make our wig journeys easier ❤️

M Kuti-Childress: Thank you, thank you!! I’ve been trying to figure these colors out, because they pretty much look the same to me on the color chart! But this helps _so_ much, you have no idea!

Lo Presti: Do a vid. For those of us that hate and can't wear ash colors. Warm colors are always prettier in my experience.

Terry Sue Makes Videos For You: You are doing such a good job at comparing all the different Paula Young colors! I love your videos! It really took me awhile to figure this out on my own. I recommend your videos for all new wig wears! Have a great week!

Mary Doyal: As always, thanks Coco, for the color review. Colors are the hardest decision when ordering!

Discovering My Voice: Thank you so much Coco. This was so enlightening. I really appreciate you. I just purchased and received Chantel in sugar and spice. I’m still getting used to it and not quite sure yet. My natural color is salt and pepper with a little more salt. This video was very valuable. On a side note..l love the wig (Juliette) that you are wearing, however Even though Paula Young has a fantastic price point for my budget, they are very lacking in petite cap sizes. You can imagine my disappoint when the new catalog arrives and there is not one new petite. Most of Paula Young petites are pixies which are extremely unflattering on me. I love medium length with bangs…so Chantel is my one and only option. Juliette is right up my alley though. Thanks again for your gracious presentations.

Libby Adler: This is helpful. I have been curious about many of these colors. Unfortunately several of these colors are not shown in many wigs. I really like the 14 (Uptown Blonde) but most wigs do not feature it. To my eye, excluding the 14 and the buttered toast (which looks different in every wig) the coolest tone and 'darkest' seems to be the 18/22. Do you see it that way?

Amber Bob K: You are so kind to do this for us. Thanks

Debbie Hall: In my opinion, the difference in the colors is so subtle, that without your side by side comparisons it would be almost impossible to tell. These are extremely helpful, and done so well. I love your color chart.

pakelekia2552: Thank you so much, Coco. Looking at the colors in the catalog is a bit bewildering. Even the color swatches don't give a clear idea of what a whole head of hair will look like.

Clara: Thanks very helpful

Brenda Baum:

Lo Presti: Ash=Gray.
