Hi everybody its poyo Delmar, and I am here with another one of my helpful drag tips. Now you might have tuned into previous tutorials to learn how to do makeup such as smokey eyes, cut creases like these or maybe even my glittered lip tutorials. Nothing gets a performer as excited in my experience as getting some new hair, for example, this gorgeous two-tone lace front wig. I happen to have picked this up for my friends down at Janet's Beauty Supply in San Francisco, but you can find lace front wigs available online or at many local wig stores, in whatever area you might be in for many people, it's really a difficult task to Figure out how to cut the lace now, as you can see, I'm gon na pull this really close to the camera. But those of you who are unfamiliar with lace, front, wigs lace, front wigs, come with a piece of lace which helps the hairline blend. In is if it's a natural hair line on you. Unfortunately, some I've seen cut the hairline of the wig so far back that it actually replicates, as if you didn't have lace at all and kind of defeats, the whole purpose. Others, I've seen leave the lace on and I can see it from across the room so that also defeats the purpose. So I've done some research online and I also spoke with some friends and people who I trust and admire, who are longtime, drag performers, and/or, hair professionals and I've gotten a variety of techniques that have been offered to me. Some have told me to cut it all. The way back to the very very beginning of the hair line and from my own experience, I don't like that, so I'm gon na show you the technique that works best for me and that is creating a slightly jagged or irregular cut on the lace which, from A distance blends a little more easily into the kind of contouring that I've done here. So let us get started first thing is we're gon na need. I use these little tiny, cuticle scissors, there's so much easier and because of the fact that they have. I think you can see it see, they're slightly angled they're, not flat. It makes it a little bit easier and then I'm going to come right here to the edge of the lace and I'm going to begin cutting. I want to cut you can see. If you look closely on your own wig at home, the netting has little bitty tiny cross hatches and I want to go about two of those, maybe out from the actual where the hair begins so and then I'm gon na cut at an angle such as this Up and down up and down up and down it doesn't have to be too close to one another. It can be spaced out a little bit, but I'm gon na show you what I'm gon na do right here. I'M gon na put it up here. I'M trying to see this as best I can, while showing you guys your regular pattern. Can you see that at home, as I said, a normal wig when you put the hairline on if it doesn't have a lace front, the hairline is pretty straight across my daughter. Sandra, oh, no, she didn't cause as the robocop hairline. Do you remember that film, where Robocop's like half his face, falls off or whatever, and you can see sort of just very clearly where he becomes at a cyborg, I'm gon na hold some of this back. I don't want to cut too much of the if some of the hairs seem she's getting caught in here, which is not necessarily good, but the one thing I'll say is: if you snip some hair a little bit at the front. My accident is just like baby hair along the front. Now, I'm not gon na show you this all the way through, because I'm gon na look at it more closely. So I can make sure that I'm not messing up this gorgeous wig on my in my own right, alright guys. So this is what I cut off and you can actually see it in many ways: we're replicating. Can you see that the that this is the edge that they had on there now mine is not nearly as smoothly cut it's a little more jagged. I might want to go back and clean that up later, but for all intents and purposes, I think this is gon na serve its purpose. So now let me see what it looks like when I throw it on be careful when adjusting a lace-front too, because we don't wan na stretch it. Oh that's the worst thing we could do with it, but I do want it to get to fit correctly. You can see a little bit of it here, but what I'm gon na do is I'll go back in in a moment with some darkish powder brush, I'm gon na contour along that hairline, a little more so darken her up. There get the wig back on and wallah. My name is poia Del Mar thanks for watching.
