Human Hair Wig Application For Beginners (Detailed Daily Application) | Drag Queen Advice

Human Hair Wig Application is tough and intimidating - I get it! Human Hair units are an investment and let me tell you, the application can be scary. With this human hair application tutorial, I'm going to show you how you can do a light install for daily use. This is not a bald cap method or a full install - but, I will definitely share a video on that soon.

My name is Cash LLC and I'm a NYC based drag queen aka *The* Human Hair Queen of NYC. I wanted to share the best human hair wigs for beginners and how to choose your first one.

After buying as many as I have I know a thing or two about looking natural and making a flawless install. Synthetic wigs can look amazing but human hair wigs are always the way to go for me (and are great for beginners). The key reason is the application of the wig, always goes smoother. It's not as hard to get it looking natural.

I want to make sure that you have a few tips and tricks that as a beginner I wish that I knew. Human hair wigs are easy to wear but do take a little bit of love if you want to make sure that they last as long as possible and look as natural as possible.

Hey: what's up it's your girl cash back with another video. Now what i wanted to do today was again wig related, because you know me as the human hair wig queen of new york city, i got ta, keep giving you the tips now. What i wanted to show you today was a full wig install. Yes, i get so many questions about this. I get a lot of dms asking if you can install on this skin type, if you need hair, how to do it. What the clips look like and the reason i look so crazy is because obviously i have no wig on so we're gon na do that together on my head, let's get straight into the video, so i can get a wig on my head, but please remember to Subscribe and like this video, it helps me out a lot, but let's get into it, okay, so the first thing you are obviously going to need is your wig yeah she's blocking my light, but she is gorgeous. This is my caramel brown, zoe and zoe is 20 inches, and let me just quickly show you the inside of her now she comes with, i believe it's four clips three at the top and then one at the bottom, an adjustable elastic band in some of the Wigs and of course, this lace - frontal section in here as well and i've spoken about the whole construction of this wig in another video. But what i want to tell you about applying the wigs first is before you even apply your wigs or get into any sort of you know cutting of the lace or anything you want to create a neutral base for your wig to lay on now. These don't worry about this. This is just face tape. To pull my face back to make me look, you know ageless, but this wig cap on here i have put on - i haven't glued it down. I just placed it on so that's gon na be the first thing you're gon na do before you put your wig on. You are gon na try to get your. You know long hair if you have it as flat down, so you can braid it down to your hair and then place this wig cap on. If you do not have hair because you have hair loss or alopecia, then you don't need to worry about this step. I mean you can just skip this and then go straight to applying the wig directly, so grab your wig and what you will do is we need to cut this lace frontal on now. The lace front is this long, because you know we want to make sure. Well, not just us, but most wig manufacturers will want to make sure that you have the choice to cut the lace. However long you want now in real life, we tend to cut the lace. You know for a natural look really close to the hairline, but for theater, and you know for other things they like to leave the lace long, but we are going to cut it quite short today, because we don't want anyone to really think that this is a Wig, so we're going to make it look as natural as possible so grab your wig, i'm gon na try to do this, where i can show you as well grab your wig and grab just a pair of little nail scissors and don't be nervous about this. Just go for it, you know we just need to cut it off and you can. You can see a natural sort of hairline in here i'll just place it on. You know my hand and just cut as close as that, you want it's there's, no real. You know magic sauce to it. What i like to do is i like to hold the lace with my top two fingers and hold the wig down here at the bottom, with my thumb and pinky, and i will just cut it's really that easy, don't be intimidated. There'S nothing really here to worry about. If you get really close to the hairline and you cut a hair off, you know what no one's gon na notice and it's a hair. There are so many hairs in this wig. Don'T stress! You can see that as i'm cutting it. I just like to pull the hairs back a little bit just so i can see the hairline a little bit better. There are a few different techniques. Some people like to cut their lace in little zigzag patterns. I find that just cutting it straight across actually creates you know a natural look. That is really great, but if you have a different technique - and you want to do something else - then feel free to do that too. So i've already cut the lace off now and you can see what it looks like now pretty straightforward and then i'm just going to grab this adjustable elastic at the back and not every wig has this. Some of them are a little bit smaller than this, and really all you have to do to place your wig on is you are going to uh grab the hair almost from the nape of the neck, what the nape of the neck would be and you're going To leave the frontal like this down here and you're, actually going to put it on upside down and you're going to put it on like this, where the frontal goes on. First you're gon na pull the adjustable elastic behind you and then you're gon na flip. Your hair up, so let's do that together. I'M gon na try to do this so that you can see it as well. Okay and i've just secured the back of the wig. Now i'm gon na pull it up like that, and there we go now she's. Looking a little bit crazy because we haven't combed her out, but we will style her. Do not worry. Oh, i feel like in this hair and this little outfit i feel like i'm like. I don't know like sleeping beauty or something like what is this. Who is she? Oh, it's a cover of a romance novel for sure, okay, so she's on. But what we want to do is we want to apply a little bit of glue because we have our sideburns showing. So, even though it's really great up the top here, where you can't see anything, we can definitely still see our sideburns, but if you were your hair down in front of your face like this, that's it that's the end of your day. That'S all you need to do, you can go out now, you can do whatever you want, keep it secure, keep it cute and you don't have to glue it down. If you don't want to it's going to look really really super natural, and that's one of the things that i love about human hair wigs is you: don't really have to worry about this whole craziness with a fake looking hairline, because that's really the best thing about Them is they just have the most beautiful hairlines. Oh that's a cute style just like that. I think i'll do that? Oh, that's! Pretty! Okay! Let'S do that, so we're going to want to glue down these sides to do that. We obviously need a glue. So you can either use something like a ghost bond and a lot of people actually use this to glue down their whole frontal for like long-term installs, but this technique is going to be just sort of a daily wear sort of thing. If you want to um, we are going to instead use something like a spirit gum and, of course you can use a ghostbund if you want to, but we're just going to use a little bit of spirit gum today. Now what spirit gum is is just a very strong, adhesive, okay, so i've just placed my mirror here just so i can a little bit easier see what i'm doing now. What we are going to want to do is we are going to want to see where we want the glue to be so we're just going to measure it quickly. We know it's going to be around here around this little area in there and what we're going to do is we're going to place some of our spirit gum or you can use ghost bun whatever you want, but i'm going to use spirit gum today. Make sure that you have cleaned the area with a 96 alcohol or something like that just to clear the area of any oils, because they will, you know, stop it from sticking as well, and it will it'll speed up the breaking down of any sort of glue. That you use i'm not going to do that, because i don't want to ruin my beautiful makeup, but we're just going to grab some of this and we're just going to place it in this area. Now, if you really wanted to, you could also pull back the wig and apply spirit, gum or the glue to the full frontal. If this is just a daily thing, or if the wig fits your head really well, you might just need to spot touch a few areas with the spirit, gum or the glue. But for me it fits really well. I don't actually need to stick anything down. Maybe a few areas here, but what bothers me the most is this sideburn. I just want to make sure that it looks like it's growing out of my head completely and there's nothing else. There uh so i'm gon na wait a little while because with any kind of glue, typically, you need to wait for it to get a little bit tacky before you put the uh wig down. If you put it down too early, it's not going to stick as well we're just going to wait a few minutes, and then when that is ready, i will stick this down with my favorite rat tail comb, just to make sure it's all pressed in nicely and We'Ll be back for that, okay, this is starting to feel a bit tacky. So what i'm going to do is i'm going to grab the lace and i'm gon na pull her really far forward. Just like that, i'm gon na place her down like that and then with my rat tail comb. I am going to place it all and just really make sure that that is glued. I like to hold it just for a little while just to make sure that those two things, the lace and the glue are getting along nicely and that they're having a beautiful little marriage in heaven. And we can now see that this looks like it is growing straight out of my scalp love that love it love, it love it and, honestly, if you have done this technique correctly, you can see that that looks like that whole sideburn. Everything is just growing out of my head, which is crazy, so really apply as you as much as you want to. You can apply it to the whole hairline before you put the wig on um, but this is really as much as i would kind of recommend and a few little you know spots as you need to just apply it below the lace before you go out for The day - and that is really that so i'm gon na give her a style and then i'm gon na be back with you with the full finished look and there we have her, so both sides are now glued in. I am really thinking that this is such a cute color. I mean i love this caramel brown anyway uh, but i really just think this is so cute now that this whole front is laid and just in for good. Now, when you are ready to take all of this off, you need to use some sort of glue remover for spirit gum. I tend to use this, which is the talesis super, solve extra strength, adhesive remover, not a primary skin irritant, not harmful to materials, none oily and, as you can tell, i have used a lot of this, so i just love this just because it gets rid of That spirit gum it gets rid of prose aid and i'm fairly certain that this will also work against a ghost bond as well. So, just whatever your glue remover is just use that make sure it's good for your skin um and make sure you look after your hairline, because that is the most important thing use this first. Just so you can gently lift the wig off and the way that i would recommend doing. That is just to pour this on a little cotton pad and then just softly dab at the edges. Wherever you have placed your glue and that way, you can make sure that the glue has stopped adhering to your skin and any little hairs that might be there just so that way, you can just gently lift your wig off instead of having to wax it out Of your scalp so definitely use a wig removing glue. Now, like i said, this technique is more suited to just sort of a daily application style. This isn't your full install. This isn't the technique you would use if you want to leave your hair on for two weeks, four weeks, six weeks whatever it is, that's a different style that i'll cover in another video, but just for a daily style. Remember all you have to do is wear your wig cap cut your lace, obviously, and then just apply some light glue to the areas that need it, and you will get looking something like this. Now i've just gone ahead and just given her a light, curl i've pinned her behind my head. Just to you know, really show off this lace now, because you know it's a moment it's the moment and i'm feeling very real housewives fantasy. Like i don't know, i feel like this is real houses of beverly hills or something uh, but i'm loving it. So thank you for watching.
