Share this with you, I am about to make a: u part wig for my best friend one of my really really good friends and I'm going to install it for her, but first I'm actually going to make the? U part wig using my brother sewing machine, I'm going to have to make sure that I set this on the zig-zag stitch. So, for my sewing machine, I believe that's number seven on here making sure I have the right thread, mainly in color, doesn't matter what type cotton or nylon seriously doesn't matter, and while it's on my zig-zag stitch, I made sure that I got this cap. This is the company that I love to work with to fit, and this is the cap that I'm going to be using now they actually have a. U part wig cap, but I wanted to use this because this one is actually the most easiest to find online and within Beauty Supply stores. And since I'm making a? U part wig, I need something that has not as much stretch so that it'll fit around her head, and I hope that makes sense too much stretch might be a problem because it ends up stretching too big for your head. So this one doesn't have a lot of stretch to it, but it doesn't have the opening. So I am going to take my scissors and I'm only going to cut right down the middle of just the end of that last. U of this cap, if you're not exactly sure how much that should be, maybe about three to well about three inches for now, and it just kind of makes it a little bit easier for me to sew it. You can use as much hair as you want to use in this case, I'm using two packs or two bundles of Brazilian straight hair has been colored and washed and conditioned, and I have a 16 and a 14 inch. So I'm going to start with the 16 inch because that's going to be at the lower part closer to the neck and then I will fill the rest of it out with the 14 inch. So this was the hair that she provided for me. So I'm going to go ahead and start swimming so before I start sewing, I actually cut the elastic off. I don't care for them and I know how to make it fit, considering that I'm gon na probably be sewing this on to her head. So I'll cut these off, I'm not only doing that. This helps you decide if you want to make it as a side part or as a second part, you can kind of shift and move it around now. The bottom half of the cap usually looks like this, and I make sure I sew right along the edge and then I try to keep my tracks sewn at the same distance as you see between this and this line, so that I could be able to use All of the hair and that it it's just easier that way, it's so hard to explain but yeah. I try to keep that much of a distance about a finger or two apart starting at the bottom and then I kind of sew them a little bit closer at the top. So I make sure I have a pair of scissors or nippers whatever close by, because I do cut the tracks so that the edges are flat. You can sew it with by doing the folded or the fold-over method, but in this case I'm not going to do that. I will try and do that in another video, but I want to make sure that this track is laid right. On top of where I wanted so and then I first want to make sure that my needle is inside of or goes through, the track and the cap at the same time. So this is going to take your eye and realistically some time, so I got that there and then I'm gon na drop my presser foot down gon na back stitch and then take usually a lot faster with it because I've been so. But for the sake of this video I'm moving a little slow, so you can see so once I get to the end of that. I'M gon na back stitch and then I'm gon na pull it out of the from underneath the presser foot in the needle and then I'm going to clip that off and then make sure I clip only the threads and that's just the first and then I'm gon Na go ahead and sew on to the next line, so that is not so heavy in the back of the neck, because for some people that could be an issue and you have most of the fullness in the top. It looks better that way. So I start off the first two tracks this far apart so again, starting making sure I lay that track right on that line, making sure I can get the needle down onto the track well through the track and through the cap, put the presser foot down, make Sure that this lays nice flat and flush back stitch and then pull it through so can once I get to the end I marry in. If I can back stitch, make sure my needle is up. Presser foot is up this case. You can go ahead and cut the threads off, doesn't matter to order in D and cut the track, and you can start again sixteen inch and I'm actually at my last track for this week and as you can see it's supposed to create that curve. When you put it on mannequin head and on your client, so you see there's a curve there all the way around, so you have to really pay attention to the track being flush to the actual cap. But I only have so much of this left then. Instead of me, starting at the very edge of the cap, I'm going to start right here on this seam of the cap and I'm going to place it here and then I'm going to sew it all the way until it reaches the other side, which has that Seen before the edge of the actual cap right, so if it makes it there, as you can see, it didn't quite make it there as kind of it didn't make it to this scene, but it you have to taper it off so that it's a smooth transition That way, you, when you start the next set of tracks with the next length of hair it'll work, so I started from the inside seam, from the edge on one side saw that all the way around making sure it was flush to the cap and tapered it Off to kind of end off at close to the track below it, so that is yeah, it's a little bit alright! So here we are before I go on to the next length of hair. I'M gon na put this on my wig head, and this is how it should fit and in the very top right here with my sewing machine, I created a knot. I just backstage and forward stitch a couple of times until I made a knot there, because what I'm going to do is gon na kind of slightly cut a curve on each side and then I'm going to go ahead and sew the rest of the tracks. On this is just how I do it, it makes it a little bit easier for me to sew it. If I have to go in a little bit more, I will, but it all depends on how my tracks are lane. As I go and I'll show you how I finish it, so I just finished sewing one full track around first to cover the recent tapered off track that I did before and it was where it ended off like mid here. Hopefully that makes sense, but I started it from here instead of at the edge and then did the same and finished it off the same way and then now that I'm on the fourteenth length the length fourteen, I already did one full around from edge to edge To cover that now, with the space that's left, I have this kind of smiley face space left from here down to the tracks. I'M just gon na sew some tracks straight across first and then I'm going to continue the u-shape and kind of I'm gon na. Take this off at the bottom, because it makes it a lot easier for me to keep the curve going here place it. I just threw the cap in the track: hoe Polly! You could see that I only did it one straight across, so I do another one. Until that kind of tapers off and then finish the curve that's already created there, you can see that smiley part has gotten smaller. It'S about a finger length apart from the seam and the track that I just finally finished sewing it's slightly tapered off. I do not have it started at the ends so now from this point on, I am going to sew in a u-shape and I'm going to make sure that I can make these tracks kind of sit close to each other as I get closer to alright. So I'm just about coming to my last bit of what's left on this wig that I can sew another track on and I'm going to show you well not show you but tell you that I actually change the width of the zig-zag stitch for the edge of A you part so that it looks a lot more professional. This is let's see if I could put this in a little closer. This is to show you the difference in the SIG's that zig-zag stitch that I am using. I was previously using this one for the whole wig because it wraps perfectly around the width and attaches it very nice and flush to the cat. Now for the edge of the you part. What I use is this one, which is a little bit smaller, and it has a different edge finish so that you could be able to cut the excess of the cap off if there's any left. So there is the difference between the the two. So that's what I do now on my machine. I change from 7 to 9 on my brother machine yeah. I need to do a video on differents or machines, but yeah I'm going. I'Ve already changed it to 9 for that tighter stitch and I'm just gon na. So the exact same way that I've done for the whole week, alright, so we're here at the edge it's finished and I only have like that amount to a small amount to cut off. But I'm gon na give you guys a close-up of what it looks like. So I hope you can see that that's what the edge looks like and you can see that the thread is wrapped around it to be almost identical to the way the weft is actually made the trek here more so - and this is what I have left to Cut off - and this is what it looks like up close, so I'm going to go ahead and cut this off, making sure not to cut the threads but cut close enough to get this off, and it's almost like cutting off lace from a lace closure and there You are and to make sure you guys can see that it's cut so now everything is clean on this u-part edge, let's clear that off, but everything is clear on here all right. So now that that's cut off - and that's done - I still have some hair left over from finishing it off the edge. So I'm gon na go ahead and cut that and to make sure that I use all of this hair. I am going to place it to fill it in nice and neat, probably to the back of the wig, because the distance or the spacing is a lot further apart. Then it is closer to the top of the wig. So you know it's a little bit more. Spacing at the bottom than it is at the top, you really can place it wherever you want to it's just so that you're using all of the hair you're not wasting any of it and that's the same thing goes for clothing and fabric, and all of that, Other stuff, but so in a wig, is very similar to me as sewing a garment. So I think I might place it here, but yeah I'm just going to take that full track. I don't want to cut it anymore and just find a place to put it in then I'll sew it on so for quality control, because you know like stuff to have a good finish. I flipped the wig under, and this is what it should look like with the seams. Well, not seen with the tracks attached to the cap. I'Ll take my nippers our pair of small scissors and I'll look around for any hanging threads and I'll snip those off, and I pay very close attention to make sure that I'm not snipping any threads that are part of attaching the tracks to the cap. But that's pretty rare, because it's a zig, zag stitch, you shouldn't have any hanging threads except for that there is that hang because they are the beginning or the end of you're, starting to sew the track onto the cap. I'M hoping I'm making some sense but yeah. This is what I do is check for any hanging threads and it's done.

Blissfulchew: This was such an informative video. You make me want a sewing machine. Great job!

serenebrownie: amazing tutorial! I never knew you could do this! Now I wish I had a sewing machine haha. Great tut again! <33

Styles by BK: Great video! I would love to see a part 2 of you installing it

Rowena Sanders: Wow! Great job! Nice and clear instructions too! I am going to give this a shot myself! I have a suggestion for the person who asked about what to confirm people with small heads! It came to me that you could just sew a pleat in the mesh in the cap going from top to bottom! Just take it in like you would a garment and sew it down flat! So after measuring the head, measure the cap and fold over the material til it measures properly and sew it down! Just a thought!

Shakeeta Draper: absolutely perfect, thank you so much for this video

Tee TV: You are a Godsend! Thank you so much for this, I'm learning so much from you. I've even got my mother watching, taking notes lol xx

kayla green: This is the same way I do mines. I learned this from an older stylist. I love this method.

mabaldwinful: Thanks Beauty I appreciate your quick reply ! I'm really getting inspired here ! So if I understand correctly I should be looking to purchase a bang lace closure ? Do you know how many inches in length ? I went to a local beauty supply store and they had a closure behind the counter with a long SIDE part cost $25. The store clerk told me the part could be cut open to pull my hair into the part to blend with the top closure. It had no clips. Just a flat closure with a side part that could be cut. The colors were #1 black and #4 which the 4 looked like 1B, which is too dark, I'm looking for #4 or 4/27, or browns with red highlights, although their topper was Human Hair the store clerk advised it shouldnt be died. The hair was only about 6 inches in length, quite thin and flat, no front forward bangs, no clips, just a side swept bang and I don't know if it was a lace closure ? Is this what I should be asking for when I go back to the store ? I've looked online at Sam's Beauty supply they sell bangs but the reviews say the weft is not concealed or has a large bump, they also sell closures the circle type but I already bought one of those. The websites selling the type Im looking for are way too expensive because they are SYNTHETIC with layered sides, some bangs, about 14 to 16 inch toppers cost $300-$1000 ! I will check out you video with Her Hair Company hair. So this is my search for a solution for my poor hair. I did see a wig at the local store that was long and layered, perhaps this is what you meant by the wig you mentioned ? Did you mean I could make a topper out of a wig ? The only downside to this local store is they have no where to sit down with a mirror to try on their wigs. Your advse would really be helpful ! Thanks

Kimble: Great video, I been looking for a video like this because I hand sew mine and it takes forever. Thanx for this video

Oliver Robinson: when you sew the track on do you pull the cap with tension or do it make a difference And do you have to have the tracks close together and what is the best cap to get

Beautyatafraction: awesome tutorial!!!

Natasha Barrow: Hi luv. What is the best cap to use while using a sewing machine? And are dome caps an option? I personally love dome caps for that extra security in the back. Thanks luv.

Octavia Bryant: looks really good. what type of thread do you use?

Lorna Mccalman: I have been waiting for you to upload a longer tutorial from since your last one! What needle did you use? Everytime I try to sew a unit or piece (closure, bang, etc) my needle gets stuck or tangled within the weft. I don't know if the wefts I have been using are to thick or what maybe the case.

Soroya Lowman: Do you zigzag stitch the entire wig? Or just the top?

Ebony Combs: this is beautiful work

Rob Fooks: Hi! what type of needles are you using?

SilentRiotXOX: Hey I love your videos!! You've been a life saver omg  I have a problem, I just received a wig I intend to cosplay with but I think the wig is slights too small? Like, I feel like I'm fighting with it to keep it in place. I just ordered some wig clips (I'll be using your tutorial) but will that be enough to hold it?

Kiyia: I just fell in love with this video now wear in the world did you get your mannequin head I need that I done had a sewing machine all this time And i never thought to do it this way that cuts down so much time have you ever done it with short hair like a Bob or a pixie cut ? I gotta new project to start

mabaldwinful: I Just Luv your video ! Sewing the tracks on a cap using the zig zag stitch is genius ! I'm looking for someone or a video on how I or you can sew tracks onto a cap, lace or other material to make a topper. Perferably layered or the way you have sewn yours but wth the edges concealed where the edge of the track is not visible. I would secured the topper with a metal clip or comb. I have longer hair but my hair is thinning on top and the sides. It doesnt need a lace front because I would be blending it with my bangs. There are so many women with thinning hair nèeding hair toppers about 12 inches that aren't track extensions because with thinning hair the tracks show through. Any ideas how to sew a topper with concealed edges on the tracks ? If you are able to make one what would you charge if I supply you with the tracks ?

CaSandra Fortune: hi great job, my head is a size 22 23 how can i ensure when sewing that the cap will fit when i finish

undastandme1: can you make a full wig with a lace closure like this?

Ethel Feagins: You have so much talent.I would not know were to begin to sew a wig on a machine' I have a question for you do you have a vid on how to plick your part on a wig?

Candace Calinda: how do you do this and still keep the clients measurements or does something change .

SIMORE ELLEBY: I love what you did . What's the name of the wig cap you use

mpressions4u: How do I keep the cap from shrinking? How do I keep the tracks straight? (

Joi Harris: Omg!! Is there a video with you doing the fold over method?

sh0retay: Heyy..would love to c the unit on if possible even if it's a pic..love ya vids always ☺

RitaMay June: Amazing!

Q Bolar: Girl thank u. U just gave me life

mpressions4u: Help! My cap is stuck in the bottom part of the machine and I don't know what to do. If I pull it too hard my wig is going to rip. :(

- 𝗦𝗮𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗩𝗶𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀 -: This video is great. i dont like those caps for me but this is great

Sarah Davis: Do you have to use a special needle. I'm just learning to see with my machine. I've broke 2 needles already. What advice can u give me? What stitch should I use?

cocoajo: what tension did you use?

Karresse: Thank you! Btw I love your shirt!!

beautyloxs: Do you think a whole head wig can be made with a sewing machine also? I've been trying to come up with a way and it never works

dionne dikang: What stitch did you use??? Because i wanna try this....

Ryah J: Hi, which brother sewing machine is this?

C800388: Love love love the video is it hard to use a sewing machine i would like to try this but never used one can you do a video on how to use one and does it matter the type of sewing machine you use

gwen27405: Ok.....I'm a member of the teeny head community, how would you customize the cap to make it so that it doesn't overshoot your hairline? This is great!
