How To: The (Un-)Sleek Ponytail On Type 4 Hair

So I don't know how much y'all has watched Big Bro, but Fessy is a moron. I said it there I said it.. I said it. I said it come for me., (, laughing ), (, upbeat, music, ), Hey guys! Welcome back to my channel. My name is Nikita. I upload videos every Saturday at 10 a.m. Eastern Standard Time.. So you know what you can do. So for those of you who have noticed that I missed my last upload last week., I have had some stuff pre-recorded cause. I did a lot of traveling. Now all the pre-recorded stuff is gone and then last week I just didn't record nothing because I don't know you know. Sometimes you just got ta get jump right back on the wagon., So that's what's been happening with me. Anyway, so I came to slay today and show y'all how to slay this type of hairstyle., So Aaliyah Jay. She uploaded a video where she did this sleek long pony, and this is the non sleek version., So we can call it the un-sleek long pony.. So this is what I have for you guys today. Remember just click that notification bell and let's get to this video.. So first thing that you want to do is I'm starting off on wet hair and right now, what I'm doing is. I already placed my hair in a pony tail. While I was in the shower. Now I just tying up my ends so that you know they don't get in the way, because what I'm gon na be doing now is we take off the scrunchy.? So the reason why we do the placement in the shower is because your hair is more moldable. I think. So it's easier to get your hair inside of the placements that you want., And I wanted my hair up inside of this, like nice, high ponytail inside of that area.. So now I'm using this EcoStyle Curling style product and the reason why I'm using it is because it works well with Ecogel, which is what I'll be using.. So now what I want you to notice, I'm taking a liberal amount and I'm placing I'm focusing mostly on the front of my hair.. The back of my hair will get some love, but mostly for this style. All you want is to make sure that the front of your hair is, you know proper and in place., So I'm making sure to get close to the edges, and you could do this while you have make up on. Cause. Obviously, that's what I'm doing., But then you wan na do some inside of the back. So I'm doing a little bit inside of the back. Anyway, so y'all watch that., But man c'mon I talked about earlier. Is I've been watching Big Brother Season 20. And that guy Fessy is so stupid man? He is stupid. Anyway. Now I taking a broad bristle brush and now I'm brushing up my edges and my hair.. So this is just to further. I wan na say more like incorporate the product, but I'm gon na be doing something later on right. Now, I'm just trying to get my oh, oh. I dropped the brush. ( laughing ). Well right now, I'm just trying to get my placement correct of where exactly I wanted my hair to be.. So I kind of pre-formed it in the shower. But then you know after you take the scrunchy off. You got ta pre-form it or you got ta form it back again.. So now I'm taking black elastic band, I guess you could do. Is anyone because in the end it'll get covered up. And I'm placing my hair? It'S like almost on the top of my head, but not. See I'm leaning back because I like it to be a little bit backwards. And I'm looking over to the side, because that's where my mirror was. And then I'm looking the next way is cause. That'S where my screen is., I just tryin', to make sure I have focus., But now that I have a good placement. I'M just gon na put this elastic on my hair and wrap around a couple times.. So yeah back to Big Brother. What I was saying man, he just he just so slow. I just I can't deal with him. Can'T deal. Fessy is too like he cost all the whole team lose.. If you wan na know what I'm talking about Big Brother Season 20 is an excellent show and I feel, like that'll, be really good.. So this scrunchy and this elastic I'm tryin' to get it really really really really really tight and that's key. And in order to get it even more tight on my hair, I normally just split my hair inside of two and then well, I'm trying to take off The elastic right now, then, I'm gon na split, my hair in two and what I'm gon na do is like it's almost like tighten it., Tighten all of the hair to make sure all of it is as tight inside of that loop okay.. So now that that's done, I'm gon na twist my hair up even further cause. I don't want it to get like poofy.'Cause. I need it to be like very. I need it to be like a small bun.. So now that that's done, it actually looks kinda cute. I think it does, and now I'm gon na use the EcoStyler. I think that's the black, castor oil yeah yeah, I'm feeling myself, but I think that's the black, castor oil and flaxseed gel.. So that's the one that I'm gon na be using. I like it because it's a nice complimenting gel to the curl and style cream and it isn't too like stiff, like the other ones like the Krystal, is super stiff., But anyway, now I'm just placing that along the perimeter of my hair.. At this point, some people do baby hairs. I'M not really a baby hair person, because none of my hair's really short enough to be baby hairs in the front which kind of sucks. But it's okay and I don't really know how to do the swoopy thing that good I've tried I tried., But now what you'll be noticing me doing is I'm pressing. So this is one of the keys to getting you hair to lay as flat as possible, and you know just make the style look good, so press the product into your hair and then use the brush to further like tidy up the front of your hair.. Hey guys, I switched angles and I'm so sorry that in the corner you see that stuff, but you know I think I eventually realize it. But now what I'm doing now that my hair is all smoothed down, I'm taking out my hair inside of the bun.. So the thing is, if I simply do a two strand twist on my hair, my hair is not going to be flat. It'S not gon na lay super flat enough, so what I'm doing is I'm taking that extra elastic off and what I'm gon na do is section my hair into three and do two strand twists on those three parts.. So if you have thick hair and your hair is long, this will work for you. If your hair is thinner, if you have fine hair or your hair is shorter, like it'll, be fine to just wrap your hair up in a bun, but now I'm just going To proceed to do the two-strand twist on the three sections that I'm gon na make, and hopefully it will get my hair to lay super-flat. Well, it will you'll see., But where have I been so I missed my last upload and I'm so sorry you guys, but I had a lot of stuff pre-recorded and it's my pre-recordings that was kind of like out they've, been running and running. You know so that they upload every Saturday at 10 a.m. Eastern Standard Time, but when I came back from traveling, I just was on this like lull, and then I've been getting into my card making some more.. So I make cards by the way. Any of you all who don't know. Like greeting cards, but I've been getting into that a lot and the semester is starting and those of you who don't know I am a college professor.. I am an assistant professor and I teach chemistry.. So that's what I've been doing. I'Ve just been preparing for the new semester coming up, and you know when you have a lot of stuff on your mind and you just doing a bunch of things and I kind of forgot to record a video and upload one.. So I'm so sorry you guys, but I am back to my schedule and I will be because what I have discovered is over the break. If you don't follow me on Instagram, you should but over the break. I had my hair inside braid and I also had my hair in a sew-in with a partial leave-out. And I didn't record myself doing the braids, but I did them myself and they actually came out looking really good. They were like these ombre braids.. If you follow me on instagram, you would definitely have seen it., But now I am wrapping my hair around so yeah. See what the video doing. And then I'm gon na be pinning that out of the way., But you'll follow this piece. This piece is very straightforward. At this point., But I finished - I wanna finish talking to you all., So I had my hair inside of those braids and I am planning on doing it again, but right now, I'm actually wearing my hair inside of this hairstyle that I'm showing you all today, a Lot., I'm planning on trying to do another sew-in, but this one I will be doing myself last time. I went to a person to do it and it took like eight hours. I was in the hairdresser.. It cost like a crap-ton of money. It was like $ 400. And I just didn't like how it turned out.. He didn't know how to blend the leave-out good.. He keep telling me. Oh, all you have to do is just flat twist it and I was like no, my texture don't match this weave, which you buy like I would have to flexi-rod it., And you know when you know more than people, but you just don't want to say it Anyway, so this is the hair, I will definitely leave the length down below where I got this.. This is a beautiful weave, it's actually a U-part wig., And what I did is, I just you know, tighten it from the inside and then I put some clips together. So I made it look or I could use it more so as a ponytail, instead of as a U-part wig.. So this wig is actually everything you guys., It's so beautiful. It'S full. It matches natural blown-out textures. Or, if you just decide to like slick your hair up inside of a bun like if you make it kind of slick-ish it matches it so well. So this hair is literally what I don't know. I can't even describe how good it is. I got hooked up onto this from Vicky Logan. Who is a YouTuber that I watch So I don't know if you can see it and I think I'll show you all a little bit closer, but the texture matches my texture so well. The color is actually pretty good too. It'S just that. My hair is still shiny because it's still moist, but when my hair dries down it matches this texture so well, and the sheen that the weave have it matches natural hair sheen. So well because it I don't know it's just like a wonderful natural hair weave.. So now what I'm doing is now that I placed it on. I hooked it in and now I wrapped some hair around it and that's just to hide. You know the point at where it connects you, don't what people to be snitching on you and telling you you've got weave because they can see where the weave start in your hair, and so now that I did that I'm doing just a little bit more tweaking. I had a piece of hair that was actually it was bumping up in a not flattering way. So all you have to do is just pin that that's all you have to do and then it's good to go., I curled the wig prior. So it'd have all these nice curls inside of it, and this is the final look. So guys this is the final look. Check it check it check, it., It's beautiful it flows and it looks the texture of it not matches the natural hair so well. Like. Can you see the kink that is inside of it and how it matches the kink of your hair later on? My hair will dry down so that it is less shiny., But for now it looks really good.. You could always spray like a shine spray on it. So you could get you know it's a look kind of like it., So this is the final look. I hope you guys like it. I love it. This is a style.
