Just like certain hairstyles flatter certain face shapes certain wig styles. Do too, if you have a round face and a little bit of a double chin like i do keep watching to find out what wig styles will complement your face shape and, if you're looking for specific wig suggestions, keep watching, because i have those too hi, i'm Christine and i am on a campaign to make wig wearing more mainstream, so we can express ourselves any way we want and not have people look at us sideways just because we're wearing a wig for practical tips on choosing and wearing wigs wig reviews, as well as A little creative inspiration please subscribe to my channel, hit the like button and hit the notification bell. So you don't miss a video now. First things: first, i am wearing ellen villa's impress in pastel blonde rooted now. This is the first in a series i'm going to do on wig styles for specific, face, shapes and i'm starting with round face, because that's what i have so it's the easiest thing for me to do, and i'm also adding maybe round face with a little bit Of a double tin, because i think a lot of us as we get older sort of slide there since i'll be doing a video on every single face shape. Please subscribe so you don't miss a video now before i talk about face shape. I want to talk a little bit about my philosophy and my approach to this whole, what hairstyle looks best with your face shape or what clothes look best with your body shape. Basically, the guidelines that people put in place for fashion now i don't subscribe to the idea that somehow the oval is the ideal face shape. Every person has certain features, they want to accent and certain features they want to minimize. So this is not a video about how the oval is the best face, shape and everything is designed to make you look more oval. I use timeless quite literally thousand-year-old theories based in art, philosophy, about proportion and harmony and balance. I want you to view yourself as a unique work of art. So when i talk about these guidelines, i am not trying to make someone think that they should be a 21st century male idealized version of a woman that doesn't exist. I want you to use these guidelines to make yourself feel beautiful and finally, most important. You have to feel good now, i'm going to present guidelines based on proportion and balance and harmony, but if there's something in a style that you just feel awkward wearing, don't wear it. There is no pressure here to conform, and you will actually see an example of this later in the video. When i talk about something that's recommended for around face shapes that i just don't like to wear got my iced coffee. You will probably be seeing me brush my hair out of my face a lot because i just pulled this wig out of the box and i haven't had time to trim the bangs. Yet now i have always had a round face, and in the last decade or so, i've started to sport, the double chin that every female member of my family has, and since everyone in the world tells you that certain hairstyles are best for certain face shapes i'm Going to do that with wigs see still trying to keep the hair out and still trying to keep the hair out of my face now, depending who you ask, there are about six different face, shapes, there's, oval round square diamond oblong and heart shaped now. If you don't know what your face shape, is i've listed some videos down below that will help you figure it out. So what is a round face shape? Well, basically, it's as long as it is wide. Now a square face shape is also as long as it is wide. So, what's the difference, the round face, shape, doesn't have angles like a square um face, shape, might have a angular jaw round face, won't have that our faces are soft and warm and comforting and squishy, and just all the best things and the elements that we use To flatter a round face, shape will basically be designed to either make it look longer this way or now over this way now the most obvious thing you can use to make your face look longer is height on the top, which draws your eye upward. Now, i'm not saying you have to sport an inch of permatease. In fact, this particular wig doesn't has a little bit, but not that much you just don't want to wear something that is completely flat on top and i will actually have a picture of me wearing something that is completely flat on top later in the video. So you can see why that's not my best look, even if it's just a little bit of height in the crown a round full face needs some height up here. Another great thing to have is a strong vertical element which makes your face. Look narrower a style with an asymmetrical bang will look fantastic on round faces, especially if there's height on top now. Here is an example of some a style that would be recommended for me, but that i do not feel comfortable at. I love those asymmetrical bangs. On other people, i love those beautiful pixies with the you know, the high top and the sculpted back and the a symmetry of the bang right here. I just feel like an english sheepdog in them. I i can't help it, so i just don't follow that particular tip, because it's not comfortable for me now. On the flip side, any strong, horizontal element like a heavy bang or a very blunt bob, is going to emphasize the width of what you're trying to narrow down. So usually not the best thing for a round face and keep in mind that the bottom of a very blunt bob is a horizontal element. So wherever it stops, it will emphasize that, which is why i basically don't wear anything that ends between say the bottom of my cheek to my shoulder, because it's just not an area. I want people to be looking at now. You certainly can have a round face without a double chin, in which case as long as you avoid something that ends right here. You know you can do any length between your chin and your shoulder. It'S only us double chin girls that really have to go from here to here and nothing in between so double chin. If you're going for long hair, you just want it shoulder length or long like the song says, because, like height will draw your eye up length down here, will draw your eye down. Either. Place is away from the double chin you're trying to de-emphasize and also hard as it is resist the temptation to go with those beautiful wavy beach styles that come out like this in a triangle, because, again, all it's going to do is emphasize the width of your Neck, okay, so let's review one more time, the general guidelines and then we'll look at a few specific wigs that might be really flattering. First, add some height on the top. It can be a whole lot of height with great big hair, or it can be just a teeny weeny bit with a little bit of permatease so height up in here. But as you come down here and all the way through here narrow now, the first week i want to talk about is the one i'm wearing the ellen villa impress all my life. I have wanted to have long, blonde hair and all my life. I thought i couldn't now for many years. It was because all the blondes were golden and i have a cool skin tone, so they just looked weird. Then, when i started wearing wigs i figured i could try a cooler color, but i got those long, beautiful silky. Wigs that didn't have any height on top, so it was still bangs falling in my face and everything dragging down. What i found was that, if i could just put a little bit of height on the top, whether it's permatease or whether it's quilt batting in the crown and you can see if i pull this up a little bit, it makes all the difference in whether i Can wear long hair? The other great thing about this wig is that it's straight it doesn't wave out with beachy waves in a triangle shape. I can pull it back completely off my neck, so it does not emphasize the width of my neck or i can put it in the front and sort of have it hide it, but either way it's a vertical element. So it's narrowing everything. Noriko also has a couple of lovely styles, with some height on top, but still sleekness around the side, going from one end of the spectrum to the other, going from long hair to pixie just make sure if you're going to go, pixie you've got height on the Top and especially height in the crown and avoid a heavy straight across ring, either an asymmetrical bang or a light wispy fringe this adele by renee of paris. This nemo, which is, i think, a brand new one by noriko and even john renaud's, classic natalie all fall in that category. Now, if i wear anything between hair, this long or a short pixie, i just make sure it doesn't end or have lots of weight like from here to my shoulder, because that's going to emphasize my neck, there are several styles. I love that are a little poofy on the top, not as poofy on the sides and then hit me with little fringe about here, which looks beautiful the rays by ellen villa, which is one of my very favorite, throw and go wigs as well as the dolce From noriko, which i'm having a super amount of fun with right now now, what do you do if you already have a wig that you love? Maybe it's in a color that you love or the fibers are really beautiful, but it is that flat on top wide. At the bottom, that's the opposite of what you should wear. Well, that happened to me with cysterwigs ambrose. I had to have this wig because the color it was the color of my dreams, but i knew just by looking at it. I would have to work with it and i'll link. The video where i go into detail on that down below um, but you can see on one side of the screen, is what it looked like before completely flat out of the box triangle shape um. I there's nothing to describe the way that this wig looks on me. Um afterwards, i thinned and trimmed the bangs. I put some quilt batting in the crown to give it some height and i sleek the sides with steam works. Fine. Now i've, given you a whole list of wigs, that would probably flatter a round face and maybe a double chin, but certainly there's lots and lots more. So let me know in the comments below first of all, if you have a face, shape similar um and also what wigs that i didn't talk about. You find really flattering because there may be somebody out there looking for exactly the wig advice that you can give them for more content like this. Please subscribe to my channel and hit the like button and leave a comment, because that all helps you to decide to show my videos to more people, which is the best way that i can get the word out. Christine McGraw: Do you have a round face? If so, what wig styles do you like?

Godsgurl 22: Very professional advice!…..I’m a stylist for 38 yrs and what your talking about is the same way a stylist approach’s bio hair. So good job Christine

Kathleen McKeithen: Christine, You are such a pretty lady, and your videos are so helpful. I certainly qualify for the over 50 bunch at 73, and am a newbie to wigs since beginning my hair loss about 4 years ago. Thank you for helping me! :)

Twyla 2: Great information. I have a square face. Some of your suggestions work for me, too. Especially increasing the height at the crown and no triangular shapes. Thank you so much!!!

Sheilagh Giddings: At last, great practical tips for wig wearers. Well done & thank your Christine !

Brenda Gregory Yuen: I have a round face (no double chin yet). I've found Raquel Welch's Ready for Takeoff to be the MOST flattering style -- it has side-sweep bangs, some height at the crown, and is short, ending around the bottom of my ears. There are others (I'm always looking for another style since wig-wearing allows you to change things up when you want), but this one's my "go-to"!

Lynn McKenzie: Thank you for this. I love what you did with Ambrose, I've always loved the look of that piece. I'm going to watch your video on face shapes, I always thought I my face was round but it's 8.5 inches long and widest at my cheek bones.

Lydia Johnson: Thank you. I have a rather round face, and my chin and jaw line is sagging. You explained why some of my wigs don't look as good on me as I had hoped they would. I usually wear short styles, especially in the summer, and I've found that the pixie cuts are flattering if the bangs aren't too straight and thick. I had decided that I needed to keep the sides close to my head and sometimes tuck them behind my ears to achieve that. A lot of my wigs are Paula Young wigs, and Janine and Vikki are two of my favorites.

Laurie Schultes: Kate by Noriko is one of my favorites. Especially by tucking one side behind my ear. But it runs small and it is super annoying to be tugging on the back all day. I also take a slightly darker shade of blush than I wear on my cheeks and line my jawbone with it and put it right under my jaw. I use a big fluffy brush so it doesn't have noticable edges.

Lady Silver: This was so great for me! Thank you. I'm 64 have become BBW, need a more up to date look (+confidence....to help yourself feel good).

Sharon L: Christine, I'm loving your channel. So glad I found you! Can you possibly list the names and colors of the wigs you're wearing in your videos in the drop down bar. By the time I get to the end of the video sometimes I'm thinking, what color did she say that was?? Maybe that's just me

Vicky White: Yes! Both my problems. Thank you. I wish I had watched it sooner.

Deborah Aronson: GREAT review, thanks. I am 70 and always wore very short hair. Since I have the round face and disappearing lower jaw area, I find your advice spot ON. BUT, I don’t think long hair looks good on old women, just saying. Or, for me, I never wanted it. I will focus on that height and softness at the cheek. Sparkle by Raquel Welch I have found to be excellent. Is there a wig channel for 70plus women? Really LOVE your style.

Jan Cummings: Thank you for providing such helpful information.

Peggy Jean Allgäuer Eckl: I bought my 1st wig off eBay for $10 (it was on sale). Well, everyone tells me it looks great. But I have a round face & the wig is a heavy beachy wave. I need to thin it outs& I’m afraid to. It’s very long & grey. I’m 67. Previously my own hair was almost to my waist, so the length is perfect. Thank u for ur round face tutorial.

Karynn Lynn: I am a round face/double chin girl. My go-to is Sky by Noriko because I can get the height on top & I like the flippy hair in back. I also have Raquel Welch Voltage and a Jon Renau Meg. Meg is 100% handtied so she needs piece out cream to get the height. I like spiky hair but not a fan of really short nape.

Shell Cshells: I just bought my first wig and I really appreciate your video. I subscribed!

Libby Adler: Great idea for a video! I have kind of a diamond face, width at the cheekbones but narrow at top and bottom. Some of these tips work for me as well.

Vee of the Weald: Brilliant video. Very educational and very clear. Thank you so much. Also… I couldn’t help but notice your rings. They are fabulous! May I ask where you got them from?

ItsJoan NotJoann: Glory be!!! I felt like I was listening to someone describing *my* face. I was born with a round face so it's always been with me and will go with me to my grave. But the double chin is has become an unwelcome addition about 20 years ago. But yes, I do need the height, nothing ending at my jawline or chin, and I don't like too full sides, just makes me really look like my face is the shape of a pumpkin. Also, those cute asymmetrical hairstyles are simply ravishing but not on me either. You nailed all the do's and don't's for me!!! Thank you!

Lailah Angel: I'm looking for a wig for Mother she has a similar face and neck shape. Thanks for this video now I have some logical direction.

Jeannie Deal: So glad to have found you! Very helpful!!

Patti MacLaughlin: Thank you for this video. I have been so frustrated over the past 2-3 yrs searching for a wig/topper. I have to return all of them. Now, I know WHY! My search will take on a different approach!!!

Julz San: Fabulous it all made perfect sense. Thank you hon

Pat: Wig shopping was a nightmare for me. Thank you!

Joyce Bokman: Thank you for this video! You look awesome in a long wig!

codzy: thanks sweetie im menopausal my hair is thining really bad i thought id never wear a wig so glad to find you i have a round face too and i want a grey wig or black an grey mid to long length i love long hair though thanks so much for the info God bless

Nicole Cerra: Ignite by Jon Renault is remarkable for rounded face with a bit of double chin.

BoMiSo Satori: ohhhh I loved this. I have a FB page I share ALL awesome video tips on for wig rebels :) I also share links to stores as I have no affiliation with anyone and I wish to eb able to be a place where people can actually find things in other stores than what's the norm. and also not be scammed. I will share this there <3 I gained 22 kilos and my hair broke off after surgery. from XS in clothes to XL and no hair, it was a huge shock. I started experimenting with wigs and got some crappy results, but we will live and learn and now I will venture into trimming and styling wigs as I have gotten a steamer and scissors and trimmers. Thank you for a great infovideo

Pat Wood: Very informative video with such helpful tips for a round face shape. Do you think a long wig such as you are wearing is suitable for someone in their 70s?.

Gin Gin: What a great video. I can relate to this very much.

Donna Allen: I've tried so many times to figure out what face shape I have and I'm still clueless. I've been doing facial exercises to get rid of my double chin, but I think all I'm doing is giving it muscles.

Jean Rita: What's the name & color of the wig your wearing? I have a round face which became rounder as I gained weight due to medical condition. I've always worn long straight hair , now I'm a senior lady I still feel more comfortable with longer than shoulder length hair, but not too long that the back gets tangled & in my way. I'm a natural brunette but always wore highlights making me more blonde. Now I let my hair grow our & am all gray. I'm thinking about doing the purplish baylage colors that are popular now but think I'll choose a blonder color that's lightly rooted..not dark roots but medium. What would you suggest? My cap size is average to average large...can't wear anything tight on my head!!

susan carter: I recently got into wigs about 4 months ago and bought 20 top name wigs in different styles and put them on Styrofoam head and now all the curl dropped out of them! Why? What to do now?

Maryshell Smith: I need to know which wigs look good for round face, AND for short women that are 5’0, and 220 pounds, and have no neck.

z2010able: Thanks for the vid. Could you pls give the color of the Noriko Seville; love that color. Thanks.

Sue Ryals: Enjoyed you discussing those who has to wear a wig

Kimberly Ferguson: Thanks for making some sense.

MoodyGirl Beauty: Yes.. round found and double chin!!

J: I would love to try Ellen Wille, but I heard they run small. I have a 22.5 head...would it fit or be tight?

Jacquie Trundy: I have a square face. So what is best for me?

Elsie Roe: Love your hair.

Maria Grazia Capitani: I have a much rounded face than you! But I love short hair so I’m still searching for the One.. Natalie is in my wish list ;)

Nikki Page: I am scared to try! I just got my first wig in. Its still closed as delivered by ups and I dont want to open it! Its Ellen Willies Storyville. I have second guessed myself a million times. I know i need to ooen it and try it on, but my fear of disappointment and then being afraid to try again...I am nearly bald. I am going to be 63. Started losing hair at 23. Male pattern baldness. I look old. No hair really ages a woman. I just have to figure this out. My girl graduates college in May! A real uppity college. I just dont want to be the old fat bald mom of the poor girl. I can't get to a shop cause of my sick husband. I like that Noriko Dolce, but not sure of colors either. HELP

Greg Cooper: Have you tried Godiva secret wigs? and pay I ask what one you liked???

Sylvia: Do you shampoo these wigs? And does the color-dye fade? Do we have to color it periodically?

Christine H.: Herzlichen Dank für die Tips . Alles Gute

Brenda Hoogeveen: Hi Christine where do u get your ink. Wd not wsnt blue but wd do other colors. Yours looks cool Tks

Robin Abner: Even opal shape faced face women will get saggy chin lines .

Sneha Tc: Gud info

Debbie Abshire: 66y/o long hair not option also 5’3 need more examples please

Jo S: Bangs in my eyes--drives me bananas. Bangs in your eyes--same.

Robin R: subscribed!

Mary Bates: I cant figure out what my face shape is.

Joyce Bokman: I have a round face, but I couldn't wear the wig you have on.
