Hi guys, thanks for joining me again in this video, I'm going to show you how I remove the hair from an old wig so that I could reuse the wig cap. So what I did was, I took an old way, and this is the fame wig that you guys have me rave about I'm gon na show you how to remove the hair from this. You have to be very careful that you don't cut the lace I'm gon na show you there's a stretch: lace! That'S inside each wig. This is the lace right here, it's very stretchy, so you want to make sure when you're cutting the hair off the wig cap. That you don't cut this lace, and you have a few strips here that you want to be careful. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. In the case of this penguin, there are 7 stretch, lace strips here that you don't want to cut into you. Also, you don't want to cut into there's a stretch net foundation here you don't want to cut this on both sides. You don't want to cut it. All we want to do is remove the hair, dramatic and holder a fix to you, your work station top. All you have to do is just tighten it up here. This lever won't be won't move so freely, so you may not want to make it too tight. Alright, so you got that in place. We'Ve got our wig head I'll, styrofoam wig head. We'Ve got our teeth pins here, ready to hold the wig cap down, put that on your base, push it down into place, so it's nice and snug and you're ready to work. But what we're going to be using today are some clips. I'M going to use a couple of clips, won't you be using some scissors or some cutting shears you'll be using these shears, and you may see me use these from time to time. This will help me just cut off big chunks of hair at a time, but you do need some cutting shears to get the work done. Last but not least, is our wig try to use a wig. That'S no good! That you're not gon na use anymore, that you want to throw out all right and is it the cat? That'S underneath it's very valuable. Okay. So, what's gon na put this wig on this bone head, give it into place. I'M gon na tighten up my base a little bit more down here and into place, because all we want to do is just want to start to make sure that the hair is secure. We'Re gon na use our t pins to hold the cap down. So I'm going to start doing that right now, all you have to do is just push your T pins into place and it will hold the wig on securely. So you don't have to worry about anything, push that in put them to the other side and then and just hold that hair into place place it out of the way and I'm going to start removing the hair we're laughing. And joking with my husband - and I accidentally cut the wife right here, but that's no big deal - you don't have to worry about that. If your wife gets cut in there so unique, but you could cut that away. Just leave it as it is. It won't get in the way of wig making okay, so this is I'm just gon na continue working just removing any residual hair from there, but this is basically what it looks like. Okay and again, I'm going to wash it with some liquid dishwashing detergent, just gon na, let it air dry and then I'm gon na. Let it get ready to be used for my hair and I've ordered some hair. I'M going to show you that when it comes, I ordered some Malaysian curly from princess hair shop. I'Ll definitely show you that when it gets here and thanks so much for joining me, this thank you for requesting that I do this. I needed to do this and guys. I appreciate that I appreciate you take care if you have any questions, you know where to leave them be well and I'll see what the next video bye bye.

Dezi1016 aka Désirée: Hi Roz, If and when you make your wig, I hope you love everything about it. Thanks so much for watching! (*‿ * ✿)

Dezi1016 aka Désirée: Hey Giggs, I love making my wigs now. I haven't brought a wig in a few of months. I tried the dome cap, I'm telling you... it's not worth it. If you make a wig let me know.. Thanks for watching! (◕‿◕✿)

daphnie7: EXCELLENT!  we have so many used wigs. instead of throwing away, we can re-use and create our own from the old ones.  THANKS for sharing.  good job!

wcmom43204: made my first wig using this tutorial and followed you and it is fantastic! thanks so much

Lady Aradia: They are on amazon called classic wig cap stretchy straps. You can cut out the top and replace it with a lace closure. Or you can remove both the top and the front sices to replace them with a lace frontal for the Summer

Dezi1016 aka Désirée: Hey Kim, yeah...I think that can work too, as long as the cap has a similar design, with the stretchy lace in side. Let me know, okay? Thanks for watching. (*‿ *✿)

Dezi1016 aka Désirée: Hi Mirror, I made this wig I'm wearing, using the same methods I'm going to show you all in a video coming soon. Plus I'll be using another old wig cap that I removed the hair from. Thanks for watching. (✿◕‿~)

NaturalBeautynStyle: great video love the idea will definitely use my old wigs instead of throwing the whole unit away thanks Dezi

Dezi1016 aka Désirée: Aww..thanks for the inspiration. Recycling wig caps, who would have thought...lol I did see that video by DivasCanCook, she is so talented, I love her too, but for right now... I'm pulling out my old busted wigs....lol Thanks for watching! (*‿ * ✿)

GigglesnGaggie: Dezi, thank you so so much for this video! I really appreciate you making the video in response to the request. I've never made a wig, but I do know the dome cap will not work for me and my hot head, lol!

Dezi1016 aka Désirée: Hey Mama, It's so easy to do. Thanks (*‿ * ✿)

Dezi1016 aka Désirée: Hey ZeeZee, I'm going to do a video on that before the week is out. Don't forget to keep looking out for that. Thanks for watching! (✿◕‿-)

Zaneta Holly: Thanks Dez!!! . I used this method to make my very 1st wig ...It came out GREAT ..

Dezi1016 aka Désirée: Hey Diva, I was hoping to inspire a few ladies to making a wig. I think this way takes some of the errors out of the final results of wig making. I do believe that the wig will fall more naturally, look prettier, and fit a whole lot better than the spandex dome crap...I mean...cap...lol Thanks for watching (✿◠‿◠)

Dezi1016 aka Désirée: Yes, I agree that sewing can be time consuming. But honestly....sewing is the best option for attaching wefted hair. However, I like fusion, because it's much quicker to apply, and the results are just as beautiful as sewing. Thanks for watching. (✿◕‿~)

Lind Cobbs: I really enjoy watching your vids. You explain and illustrate so well. I have a round shape face and my head is on the smaller size. It's hard for me to find wigs that are suitable for me. I'd about doing this but wasn't sure it would turn out ok. I'd never seen this done before, until I was your video. Im thinking of doing this with an old remy wig, but the net is different from yours. Mine is made of a strechy netted mesh material. I love this cap, it still fits like brand new.

divabroker: How awesome was this?? Now I'm curious to see your fusion method on this wig cap. You have me excited about making my first wig. I can't wait to see your Malaysian Curly hair hair. Great Job lady

247zeezee: Great job Dez..I would love to see how you glue to the old wig, seem like it would b difficult..waiting patiently...love your vids.

CreoleBombshell66: Wow!!!! You are a Godsend!!! I was looking for a spandex cap and couldn't find one, so now I can use my old wigs, and put the caps to good use!!-thanks again, and I will be subbing:)

Pinky 42: Thank you soooo much for posting this! I'm making a wig for my niece and your tips and tricks really is making the process a breeze!!!

SilentHaven: Very clever. Love it. I'll have to try that method soon. =)

GigglesnGaggie: Yes, I will definitely let you know! I'm going to wait & watch your fusion video, but in the mean time I'm going to be cuttin' some raggedy hair off of my old half wigs!

Joyce Potts: I love learning something new, thank you soo much, I have 8 old wigs, I'm going to get started this morning.

Dezi1016 aka Désirée: I'm going to make a video on how I fusion the wefted hair to the wig cap foundation. Stay tune. Thanks for watching! (✿◕‿-)

Dezi1016 aka Désirée: Hey Mama, I'm never throwing my old wig away until I remove the old hair..lol I glad I could help. Thanks for watching! (✿◕‿~)

Shoshana McKinney: I'm getting started making custom wigs. I like the sturdy look of the stretchy lace bands across the cap. I'll work this into my designs.

Dezi1016 aka Désirée: Aww.. thank so much for the warm words, I truly appreciate them. Many Blessings to you and yours too. Thanks for watching my videos. (✿◕‿~)

tootallflame: Thank you soo much Dezi, because of you I have learned to bring a wig back to life through steaming and make my own wig with my old wig by cutting the hair off the wig, you have taught me alot thanks for your videos very imformative!

Kaitlin Honkanen: Thank you for making this video! I have some old wigs that are ruined, and have been wanting to learn to make wigs out of old wigs.

dollladie: This method is perfect. Those spandex caps are just too tight for me - or, worse, the foam HEADS are too small for me. At least with a cap I've already worn, I'll know how it fits. Thanks, Dezi.

JWL2591: Thank you so much for the information. You are an excellent teacher! May the continue to bless the works of your hands!

Dezi1016 aka Désirée: I'm not sure, I only used the caps from my old wigs. Thanks for watching!

Dezi1016 aka Désirée: It held up very well, Thanks for watching.

JeanneStar101: Love your video, I have been doing this for a while through trial and error. mticulously cutting off all tracks from foundation - no good because the lace is all over the place. I don't like those store bought mesh caps because they are so flemsy and the so called side with the wire in it is a joke, the wire comes out easily. I wish the industry would start making more stable foundation caps.

debra cole: I like your videos very informative. I am self taught by watching videos, good idea to reuse old caps. I have thick shoulder length hair, I only can use Japanese mesh cap x-l, a lot of the beauty supply stores do not have x-l caps,  I really like your videos learning a lot.

Dezi1016 aka Désirée: Hey Kyrina, I have a bag full of old too. Thanks goodness I save them. Can I guess you don't like wearing a spandex dome cap too? lol...thanks for watching (*‿ * ✿)

Dezi1016 aka Désirée: Hey Kyrina, I have a bag full of old too. Thanks goodness I save them. Can I guess you don't like wearing a spandex dome cap too? lol...thanks for watching (*‿ * ✿)

Pocahontas Desertmoon: Thank you so much this helped me a lot

Miss Tara: I never thought about it but now I will reused some of my old wigs. This video was very helpful. Thanks

Queen-lee Mi...: I tried to do two wigs with that dome cap crap by the time I was through I was ready to glitter slap whoever made up this silly idea I looked like an extra for the cowardly lion. Good idea Desi I love it.

Moicherie Francis: @Dezi this is a great idea. I attempted it and I love the fit of the wig cap more than any other plus it's durable. I had just one issue. The hairs that I cut were spiky and uncomfortable. Can you post a link to where you found these exact caps for sale. Thank you.

Dezi1016 aka Désirée: Hey Mama, how are you? I've missed you here. Yep!! I'm just waiting for my hair order to come in. Make sure you have all your wig making tools ready. And I know you have a old old wig, just carefully remove all the hair. Make sure you have your wefted hair ready to fusion your wig. It's going to be quick as easy. See ya later (*‿ * ✿)

dovedarby: Thanks for sharing! I have an old used wig foundation cap with the "scalp" attached at the top. Can that be removed or do I have to sew/glue on top of it?

Rosena Stroup: Oh my god you have no idea how long it took to find your video! Thank you so much for making it, it helped me a lot

C Morris: Thanks for this tip. I have done this technique and it works great, but have trouble with the top of the wig/closure area. Can you do a video about this?

Dezi1016 aka Désirée: Hi Diva, Thanks for watching! (◕‿◕✿)

mike arnold: I want to say thanks I was having the same issue u have thick hair neck length and I used my old wig cap that has combs and it fits great

ytcookout: You are a genius and thank you so much. You are a wonderful person for sharing this. May you be blessed a million times over for blessings all your subscribers. You are beautiful on the outside and beautiful on the inside. Blessings Always to you and your family and friends.

Lilcutenurse: Thanks, dezi please be sure and do a wog making video, I'm getting all my supplies ready, lol for so ican be on point when the video comes! Luv sis

Dezi1016 aka Désirée: Hi Sexy, it's in good condition. I like to wash them first so they can be clean and fresh, and ready to have the hair sewn onto it. Don't forget to look for that video, it's coming soon. Thanks (*‿ * ✿)

Kassy Braswell: You said that you accidentally cut the one weft but if you just cut all the wefts as close to the stretchy band as possible it could make putting the new ones on easier and also makes it so you have to do less hair trimming. It's always nice to have a little bit of a time saver. Just a thought I had. (: Great video!

Dezi1016 aka Désirée: Thanks Beautiful! (✿◕‿-)

Daniel Simms: I'm so glad I found you. I;m a stlyist in New Orleans and have lots of wigs. I'm going to try this!! I;ll let you know how it goes.

Dezi1016 aka Désirée: I love Virgina, I'm there every summer. My heart is there. I will make a fusion video soon. I ordered some hair, just waiting for it to arrive. Thanks for watching. (*‿ * ✿)

Dezi1016 aka Désirée: (*‿ * ✿) thanks Beautiful!

kyrina2u: That's a great idea, I have a bag full of old wigs, have no idea why I haven't dumped them, now my saving them has paid off, plus I luv cutting hair, I cut all my lace units, now the scissors will get a real workout on some hair. Thank you for sharing. K.

Dezi1016 aka Désirée: Hey Dollladie, Oh no....The Fusion is a method that's been around for years. The Fusion glue sticks were designed to be used on natural/real hair. When using a low temp hot glue gun, it could never melt real hair. real hair doesn't melt, it burns. It burns at a temperature of 400 and higher. Synthetic/fake hair melts at a lower temperature. I don't recommend the fusion method for synthetic hair. Thanks for watching.

dollladie: Desi - Are the fusion glue sticks the same as regular hot glue sticks for crafting? I imagine it could get too hot and melt the hair, but they do make cooler sticks for fragile crafts. I always used bonding glue, but that's a hot mess (no pun intended) - Any ideas?

Dezi1016 aka Désirée: Hey Pretty Girl, thanks for stopping in on you big sis, hope all is well with you and your family...it's been a minute..right? I'll stop by later...what ya cooking...lol (✿◕‿~)

Sherry Amanfor: Thanks for showing how to remove the hair from the cap. I have do many old wigs. I was going to order a Remi hair but the cost is so much. Now I know to buy the weave and sew it on the old cap which is cheaper and custom Thanks again

krwallace10: Can you do the same with a lace front cap?

Mardee Joyner: I look for your videos each and every day.

meshel67: hi dezi, im very interested in seeing how you do the fusion method,,,anything but sewing. thats so time consuming

WigInn: Love the idea! Have you considered buying a WigInn to store your precious pieces. There is a $29.99 special going on right now!

Maythaila : do you think I could do the same thing with my previous lacefronts?

Dezi1016 aka Désirée: Hi Mama, the video is coming soon. Thanks for watching.

Mardee Joyner: Hey Sis, please show us divas how to do the fusion application with making a wig. I know you can..I know you will. Thanks...we Love you here in VIRGINIA.

Candy Bowdry: Thank you so much. I would like to know what do you do if the old wig is too big? All of my wigs are too large. My head measures small. That's why I am interested in learning how to make my own wig. I don't want it sliding off in public or just falling off. The combs don't work because all of my edges are too thin to hold them. I definitely need a wig cap that's breathable, my head will get hot and I will start to sweat.  I would greatly appreciate any suggestions. I need a protective style such as a wig so I can give my natural hair a chance to grow and I can remove it every night. Thank you for your help.

Harmony Nae: Thanks! Very informative...

Y Wallace: A new sub! Thanks for the idea!

Dezi1016 aka Désirée: Aww.. Thanks my friend!! Blessings~

Dezi1016 aka Désirée: Thanks Crissy!

MegaGLAMmom: hi dezi love your videos you  are great im a stylist specializing in all phases of hair extensions and have become making my own with your inspiration I wanted some advice concerning contacting companies to do  reviews im a bit new to doing videos feel free to check out my channel any advice would be greatly appreciated

elaine Nelson: Awesome video! His and her hair company has the wig cap/base you're looking for. Tfs

Ginger Tansil: You're soo good Dez!

lovekisses99: I missed this video!! I've been doing the same thing!! I mentioned it in my last video...

Sherry Jackson: Thank you for that because I don't know what I was going to do with my wigs thank again

Sunrisebaby: Great idea! Thanks for sharing!

Lily Seymour: Not sure if you know but I sell custom wig caps which I have made in China, the front has swiss lace for ventilating but i'm sure they can be used for the kind of wigs you make.

Those Zmzop: Could weave be sewn with the sewing machine on this type of caps?

Just Little Annie: hello friend, I have found those cheap, plasticy, crappy wigs that you buy on ebay for a few pound/dollars usually have that very type of wig cap under the hair (I ui8se the term 'hair' loosely, my rabbit has nicer hair round his arse, and that is fact ;) :D And now, I am going to try and make a wig like you have just demonstrated so nicely x

maria malehi: this was an excellent project, thank you.....now how did you attache the hair on the top of the reused foundation ?  i crocheted the hair to the whole other area but when i got to the top there is no area to stick the crochet needle through ....HELP

sasha johnson: what about front lace caps???! i have one that i cut most of the lace off because it was badly torn and i am kinda stuck. can i still use this method or not

camille hayes: this is good. i just dug through the trash to get my old wigs out. i will start cutting the hair off later on.

Kymberly M.D.A. Collier: I'm no expert, but it seems like it might be quicker and easier to cut the wefts and then trim whatever is left behind.

Ginger Tansil: Gurl, you're the best!!!!!

It’s all about the faith: Thank you

Maryann: i just did this to my old wig cap i hope it turns out good.

Cheryl Roberts-Haile: If you see the actual wig caps again anywhere , PLEASE post the link.  I spent hours trying to find them.... nothing:(  I guess I'll try your method and cut the hair off another wig.  GREAT IDEA by the way!  I was hoping for both options. :)

jnefitema yep: You r a genius. I got some wigs I was ab to get rid of. Thank u sista.

Cheryl Roberts-Haile: Have you considered charging to remove hair from an old wig and making a wig with new hair supplied by the customer for other people?  I want one!!  If you do, I'd like prices.  If you don't, maybe I can be your first customer:) Cheryl

ItsQueen Babii: i cut the actual tracks off of the cap with a razor...smh. if you cut the elastic band just fix it with needle and thread.

Bc lux: how is it when you wash it??

Hourglas39 aka Fee Fee: I should have seen you all my wigs to make new ones. I don't have patience, I did my spring cleaning and threw out 14 wigs. They were all old, well some of them but good riddance, they were just taking up room. LOL

Emeril Giovanni: I like all the videos they allow me to see that you have. I have allot o old wig and was about to put in the trash you help save them.

Dezi1016 aka Désirée: LOL...HAHAHA..LOL... "glitter slap...who ever"...LOL... Oh no Mama...so FUNNY. Okay Dezi, calm down... I'm gonna do video on how I fusion the hair to the wig foundation cap. Lol "looked like an extra for the cowardly lion" lol.. So funny. thanks for watching (✿◠‿◠)

TsSexyChanel Momma Chanel from Youtube: I shall be tryin this real soon

Emeril Giovanni: Oh thanks didn't know you had to do both but it's all good I on it now

tracey marie: alibaba or ali express has these caps wholesale

Michelle P: I only have lace fronts is there a way I can reuse it?
