Braided Ponytail Fail | Messing Up My Hair Before Vacation. Yikes

I'M getting nervous what's up, y'all, it's helplessromantic and i'm back with another tutorial. First of all, it is so late at night right now i waited all day. I'Ve been doing all this stuff all day and it's time for me to do my hair. Of course, i waited until the last minute to do my hair um, i'm doing a braided ponytail, using a method that i've never done before, but that i saw on instagram i mean on youtube um. I want to try this method. I hope that it looks cute if it doesn't have a backup plan, but i really i'm really banking on this braided ponytail so to prep. I'Ve already blown my hair out and i actually so in the video that i watched uh. She actually flat ironed the girl's hair, so it was like straight straight straight. I did not want to do that and that may prove to be a terrible decision, but we're about to see so i blew my hair out and i did run the flat iron over it like one pass, each on low heat just so that the ends weren't. First of all, i need to trim, but my ends, my hair is layered, and so, if i hadn't done that it would have just been a puffball instead of the way that it's kind of sticking out right now. So i hope that running the flatiron over it helped me be able to achieve this style. We are going to see so, let's start off i'll show you the hair that i'm using i'm a little worried about this hair. I ordered it off amazon. I can't off the top of my head, think of like the vendor or anything, but i will um put a link in the description. The first thing i need to do is put my hair in a ponytail slick. It back. I'M gon na show you what i'm using, but i'm probably gon na. Do that part off camera because i feel like i have plenty of content of how i slipped my hair down, but basically i'm going to go in sections like i'm, going to section off this front part and then probably break this down the back part into two Sections put some um holding products on it and slick it down in a ponytail, so yeah. Let me show you what i'm using to do that. Definitely gon na use some shiny. I use this frequently to slick my hair down, but it's a little wet sometimes. So i'm also going to add some mary's pomade, because i love the hold on this. I am going to have to use like a blow dryer to kind of heat this. It'S very waxy here, it's very waxy, so i kind of have to melt it a little bit in order to use it okay. So now i'm opening up a couple of packs of this hair, i thought that the little bundle was thicker. It'S not so. I know that i'm going to need more than one of these things, because i want a big ponytail. This feels like a lot of hair, but i don't know it's also not as fun. I'M getting nervous, okay, think positive girl. We got this okay. This hair feels pretty good, it's not very tangly. It came there's like six or eight of these things in the pack, but this just you know this isn't giving thick enough. I don't think, but i also don't think two of these. I don't know so. I feel like two of these might be a little too thick, but also you see my ponytail. This is also very thick, so i can't do a thin piece because then my hair won't blend. I'M not sure that my hair will blend anyway. I feel like - maybe i should have done this like a time after i straightened my hair or something i'm scared. What i'm trying to accomplish here, she said to put your hair, like, i would put the hair in my head like this, like one side of it would be out, the other side will be attached to my ponytail see. This is not enough. I need another thing up here, but i think two whole things of this might be a little much, but i'ma put them together yeah. This is a big okay. Let me take some hair out, because this is just this is a lot um. Let me take a little hair out of this okay, i took like a quarter of the hair out. I still think this might be a little a little much okay, so this is supposed to be a braided ponytail, where i don't need any um bobby pins. With this method, i don't know y'all. I think this still might be too much hair, because what's gon na happen is it's gon na be braided like this, and this is a big old, braid yeah. I think i need to take some more hair out of it. Just a little a little more hair out, okay, all right, so the instructions are we're gon na take this hair and not have it be completely like the same length on either side. That'S what she said so more like this right, i'm so scared, and then you put this part over your head and put this part into the braid. I do think i should put some more hair in this now that i'm looking at what i have here. Well, i don't know - maybe not okay, so i have this. I have to put my hair hope. This. Don'T mess up down points! Okay, the hair is in now put this hair over okay, see where we're going. Maybe now she says it takes a piece of hair from the shorter side my hair needs to be underneath yo, i'm stressed out, i'm not gon na hold you. This is not the short side. Do i have a short? Oh, my god, y'all. Okay, i think i'm messing this up. Lord have mercy help. Somebody just come save me for myself anyway, i'm supposed to take a piece from the shorter side: okay, yes boom! Here we go. Take this piece of hair and i'm going to take some aqua net. I cannot find my got to be to save my life. Can i find it around as instructed. I really honestly just think that my hair is so thick on the ends that i needed to do this on a flat iron like i really should have done this on an old flat iron style. I'M i'm just the more i the more i do this. The more i feel like this is not gon na give what i was trying to get and that's okay, because again i do have a backup, but i don't really want to do no backup. I want my break shoot all right. Okay, now it is time to braid. My hair should be on the bottom of everything. That'S happening right now and i'm gon na use some more shiny jam to put on my ends so that they are a little less poofy and will kind of fit into this whole equation, break it into three sections. I am praying this word uh. Okay, the hair is getting a little tangled, so i think i need to correct, but this method is working. Let me fix my braid, oh my god. It'S not! I just honestly. I just think that my hair, like my ends, are just they're just too thick them being layered and me not having flat ironed it all the way it's just. I don't think this is gon na work. I'M so sad right now, like sorry guys, um yeah, i'm gon na, have to try this a different time with different ends. Different hair, this hair is good, though it did get tangled, but not like knotted up tangled. It was just like that. I was doing too much trying to get it into my head, so you know we tried, but this is not going to work and i'm going to have to figure out a different style because i'm going out of town in the morning so uh. I know what i'll do hold please all right time to pivot. That did not work, and i am quite sad about it, but here's what we're gon na do. Instead, this is plan b, so right now, what i'm gon na do is i'm going to braid the end of this ponytail okay, get into it, i'm gon na braid the ends of this just by itself, no hair at it. Give me a second bear with me: poor favor. It doesn't have to be perfect because this will be completely covered when we're done. You know right here, okay, perfect! Now, i'm going to use my kinky coarse clip-ins from nappy hair. I colored these myself. So, if you're looking at it like jesus christ, what is that color? It'S my fault. I did it. I got these back in 2019 and they are still full they're still soft um. I wash them and condition them like. I do my regular hair, like the hair that goes out of my scalp and they have held up like they're s. It'S such good hair. Look. Let me show you one of them see still full it's a little. You know it probably needs a little ends trim, but i've had them since 2019 and they're still going strong. So this is the alternative to what we were gon na. Do i'm gon na take some of i probably am not gon na end up using all these slip ends, but i'm going to take some of the smaller ones right and i'm going to unclip one and i'm going to clip it here at the bottom and hit That clamp and i'm going to do the same thing right above it in a circle we're going in a circular motion: okay, get into it another, very small one. Okay, now, oh well! Let me do one more, hopefully, that's not too bulky. Okay boom. We got a ponytail right now, i'm going to take some hair from underneath, just like we were doing in our last style, just a little a little bit of hair from underneath here and i'm going to spray it. I have done this style before on my instagram, but it was last year. I want to say so i guess i'll upload this again to instagram for y'all, so you can get into it. Yeah, as our goodness doji cat would say. Okay, i got my base now to make it look even more fresh, we're going to see that's cute right. I got a long pony, hey, hey, okay, all right! So i'm about to start curling this. I did one i'm just going to show you how i do it. I have clipped a piece like part of the ponytail up, so i can get down to the bottom, but i'm basically going to start curling from the bottom of the ponytail and work. My way up, i have already sprayed this hair with some heat protector and holding spray. I burnt myself boom all right, let's get to the good part, all right guys. This is where we landed. Um love the curl and it holds for a while. It'S very thick full ponytail. I wear the style all the time, so i was not worried about it, not looking good. It always comes out super cute, um yeah. This was plan b. This is not what i was trying to do, but this is going to be the style for the weekend, um, whatever i feel cute, and i am uh if you love these clip-ins or want to try them for yourself or want to see which texture matches.
